* AmbiguousSituation: Her mother’s identity remains a mystery. She’s Heihachi's daughter and carries the Devil Gene, so she is either another child Heihachi had with Kazumi before she was killed[[note]]This is ''very'' unlikely, as Kazuya was only 5 when Kazumi was killed, and Reina is shown to be much younger than Kazuya.[[/note]] , since the Hachijo clan are known carriers, or considering the Devil Gene spawned from Azazel, her mother could be a woman from another clan who worshipped Azazel and inherited the Gene as a reward. There's also the matter of ''why'' she's so devoted to her father - is she devoted to someone she's built an image of throughout her life, or did Heihachi secretly raise her as his intended true successor?

* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Unlike Kazuya, Jin, or Lars, Reina loves Heihachi, and sets her goal on continuing her father's legacy to reclaim the Mishima Zaibatsu and TakeOverTheWorld, as well as getting revenge on Kazuya for killing the father she loved. Going by her daydream in her Character Episode, she also seems to share her late father's appreciation for Kuma, imagining him as her right hand bodyguard who gets to share the honor of defeating Kazuya, even joining in on her EvilLaugh at the end.

* {{Irony}}: Heihachi ''hated'' the Devil Gene to the point where he was willing to murder his own son just for potentially having it. Reina -- who is revealed to have it in TheStinger of ''Tekken 8'' -- sees having it as proof she is worthy of his legacy and goes to great lengths to awaken it. Though for further irony, she really ''could'' be the kind of achievement Heihachi strove for via his experiments.

* ArrogantKungFuGirl: Like Heihachi before her, Reina is ''very'' proud and self-assured of her prowess in martial arts, and not the least bit shy about letting others know where she thinks they ought to stand relative to her.

* ContraltoOfStrength: Her voice is deeper than the likes of Xiaoyu or Asuka, and she has a notably brute force way of fighting that is uniquely hers. However, she does have moments where she inflects to a higher pitch, such as when she calls Jin "Jin-senpai".

* [[BastardBastard Bitch Bastard]]: Reina is Heihachi's illegitimate daughter who is just as manipulative and ruthless as he was.

* ThanatosGambit: She takes the full power of True Devil Kazuya's Devil Beam, which seemingly kills her. Cue her [[EyeAwaken eyes opening]] and her [[RedEyesTakeWarning irises turning red]]. Turns out, she planned this suicidal stunt to try and awaken her the Devil Gene, as it activates if its host is on the brink of death. It works.

* PlayingBothSides: She starts off fighting against Jin in the tournament to try and see the Devil Gene in action, only to forfeit her match and team up with him. But that's just so she can get close enough to Kazuya to get her revenge and see ''his'' Devil Gene in action. When she realizes that a near-death experience is required to activate her gene, she rejoins the heroes and hurls herself into battle on their side once again. When Kazuya joins the fray and fires a massive blast at the army, she deliberately hurls herself in the way to try and activate the gene. It works.

* ThanatosGambit: She takes the full brunt of True Devil Kazuya's fully powered Devil Beam, which seemingly killed her, cue her [[EyeAwaken eyes opening]] and her [[RedEyesTakeWarning irises turning red]]. As it turns out she planned this suicidal stunt as the Devil Gene can awaken if its host are at the brink of death.

* ThereIsAnother: By the end of the game's Story Mode, regardless of the ending chosen, the reveal of Reina being a Devil Gene carrier left behind a few loose ends to the entire series' lore.

* TheSpook: No one knows ''anything'' about her beyond the fact that she is a student from Mishima Polytechnical, the same college Jin went to. Not only does she use this to her advantage, she later reveals that she's actually Heihachi's illegitimate daughter, meaning her true identity is Reina '''Mishima'''.

* BadBadActing: Briefly falls into this when forfeiting her tournament match with Jin. She transitions a little too quickly from calmly assessing her opponent to holding her side and acting like she's injured. Her inflection becomes too over-the-top as well.

* TheLeader: Of Raven and Master Raven's organization, the Raven Force. He becomes one of these as well to the combined coalition between the UN and Yggdrasil.

* OccidentalOtaku: He's a big fan of Japan and its culture, having been trained by a friend of his father's from that region and likely informing his use of a katana. Against Japanese characters like Reina he'll quip about how they offer free pieces of tissue paper on street corners.

* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: His moveset is fairly reminiscent of both Noctis' and Master Raven's moveset in how it combines sword strikes and teleports.

Fittingly, she is quite cunning and manipulative, easily fooling everyone in Yggdrasil other than Jin into thinking she's an ally of theirs, while her true goal appears to be following in her father Heihachi's footsteps, making her the "Queen of Iron Fist".

* MeaningfulName: The name 'Reina' means "wise" in her native Japan, though it's coincidentally cross-cultural, and appropriately enough for someone first glimpsed lounging on a throne, it also means “queen” in Spanish.

* TheAntichrist: She is another Devil Gene bearer, who proves to be as power-hungry and tyrannical as her brother, who is also a Devil himself, while managing to get into the heroes' good graces to further her own agenda and succeeded in the end.

* BadassAdorable: Being a DarkActionGirl doesn't make her any less cute.

** To Juri Han from ''[[VideoGame/StreetFighterIV Super Street Fighter IV]]''. Reina is a [[PurpleIsPowerful purple-themed]] DarkActionGirl and one of her series' more recently-debuted characters, on top of being a massive BloodKnight with a penchant of stomping down their opponents, wanting {{Revenge}} on the BigBad for the death of her father ([[EvilVersusEvil albeit while being evil herself]]), and [[WildCard playing both sides of the conflict she's involved in for her own ends]].

** To Juri Han from ''[[VideoGame/StreetFighterIV Super Street Fighter IV]]''. Reina is a [[PurpleIsPowerful purple-themed]] DarkActionGirl and one of her series' more recently-debuted characters, on top of being a massive BloodKnight with a penchant of stomping down their opponents, wanting {{Revenge}} on the BigBad for the death of a parent ([[EvilVersusEvil albeit while being evil herself]]), and [[WildCard playing both sides of the conflict she's involved in for her own ends]].

A purple-associated DarkActionGirl introduced later into the franchise's lifespan who's a massive BloodKnight with a penchant of stomping down their opponents, wants to get revenge on one of the villainous characters despite being evil herself, and constantly plays both sides of the conflict she's involved in for her own gain.

* DaddysLittleVillain: Unlike Lars, who is a HeroicBastard, Reina completely follows in daddy Heihachi's footsteps, emulating his style and mannerisms to a T, and sporting an ornate, traditionally Japanese alternate costume very much in tribute to her father's [[https://tekken.fandom.com/wiki/File:TK7_Heihachi_P1_outfit.jpg Fated Retribution outfit]], [[https://tekken.fandom.com/wiki/File:Reina_T8_Default_3_Outfit.png as seen here]], complete with oni imagery.
