** The Utrom Shredder was one in an alternate BadFuture. Even before that there was an episode with the same premise of Shredder being ruler of the world in a bad future, however, due to the decay he suffered in that version, he was more inept than evil on that occasion and even wanted to go to a world where he wasn't ruler.

Added DiffLines:

* VillainDecay: In the 1987 cartoon he was more threatening at the start of the series, then this trope kicked in. When the series ReTooled he became a bit more threatening again, but he was PutOnABus before it could really do anything and he returned to being LaughablyEvil for TurtlesForever. The Mirage version kind of suffered this as well. Not in the comics themselves, but in Turtles Forever when the Turtles simply threw trash at him to knock him off a building, and is viewed by many fans as a VillainOfTheWeek due to him only appearing a few times. Despite the fact he was still the major enemy of the Turtles who made [[ItsPersonal it personal]] when he killed Splinter's master Yoshi, and his death would come back to haunt them, whether it was the Foot Clan seeking revenge or Shredder himself coming BackFromTheDead. In fact the more [[CompleteMonster sinister versions]] of the character(such as the one from the movie and the 2003 cartoon) were based directly off of this version. Had he stuck around he probably would have wound up being as bad as the 2003 version.

*** It's more subtle, but this is a case of BrilliantButLazy across most of Mikey's incarnations. He's always portrayed as either being much more of a goof-off than his brothers, or at least less dedicated to training, but uses the most difficult weapons among the four and is still able to keep up with the other three, meaning he's the turtle with the strongest natural fighting ability. However, Raphael was explicitly stated to be the best fighter in the original comics and some other versions. [[{{FridgeBrilliance}} Mikey's weapons have a natural advantage over Raph's, though.]]
