* BoringBut Practical: Tommy is relying on the most tried and true strategies in Survivor history, even though they are a bit boring. The first having a strong enough social game that everyone lets him in on their plans, and the second is overseeing the pagonging of a rival tribe. Not the best television in the world, but devastatingly effective enough to make him the most powerful player of the season.

* CronicBackstabbingDisorder: A downplayed example. While not actively malicious, Elaine has turned on all of Lairo as well as her other alliances and seems to flip back and fourth.

* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: Feels this way towards old Lairo as she felt her conservative Indian background alienates her from the tribe. This is especially noticeable when nobody checks on her when she cuts herself. With new Lairo, she felt more comfortable and bonded with them during the trip swap.
* ArrangedMarriage: It's a result of her Indian heritage. She likens her relationship with her husband to be much more similar to roommates than love.
** PerfectlyArrangedMarriage: Episode 10 does show her having a realization of how much she ''does'' love her husband, and talks about how much she misses him after being isolated and feeling lonely.
* BadassBoast: Does one to Dean when voting for him.

** Subverted, since Dean plays an idol.
* CharacterDevelopment: She starts off feeling isolated and powerless, but she gains confidence and and agency as the season continues.
* DeconstructedCharacterArchetype: Of goats. Like most goats, Karishma is inept in the physical and social aspects of the game, and is only kept in by other players because she is easily beatable at Final Three. However, we see exactly how much damage it does to Karishma's self-esteem to be seen by everyone else as nothing more than a tool to be taken to the end and beaten, and it's an incredibly painful experience for her. Not only that, but players like Dean and Noura resent her for making it farther in the game than their allies despite being seen as less "deserving."
* {{Determinator}}: She was on the outs since episode 3 for her poor challenge performance and behaviour. She constantly feels isolated and condescended towards, as everyone makes it clear they don't like her and consider her expendable. She does not give up, and even plays an idol on herself when they wised up and thought to unanimously get rid of her.
* TheDogBitesBack: Episode 10 shows she finally has enough of Missy's treatment of her. Not only does she shut down her attempts to talk to her, but she calls her out on how belittling she is, and votes her out with Elaine and Tommy.
* FamilyOfChoice: She is unequivocally loyal to the members of [=NuLairo=] than she ever was for old Lairo.
* HeelFaceTurn: After the tribal swap, Karishma turned on Lairo for Vokai.
* MajorInjuryUnderreaction: She accidentally cuts herself deep enough to see bone and calmly says she's heading off to medical. Subverted when she goes face down in the ground because she was starting to get lightheaded from blood loss.
** Subverted and [[MinorInjuryOverreaction Inverted]] because, though she cut herself really bad and was suffering from lightheadedness, she ends up being fine after having her hand bandaged. She then declares her tribe is dead to her because no one checked up on her.
** Double Subverted post-game, however, as she stated that [[https://www.reddit.com/r/survivor/comments/dxrqfu/i_met_karishma_and_carl/ she no longer has any feeling in her index finger]].
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Everybody finds her annoying and mopey. The only reason she has stayed this long was because they were using the opportunity to get rid of perceived threats. She moves past this when she moves on to [=NuLairo=].
* IJustWantToBeBadass: She expected herself to be the Jungle Queen, where she would rock the social, strategic and physical game. She sucks at all three and laments that she is seen as nothing but a goat.
* TheLoad: Treated as such because she, apparently, does little around camp aside from moping around.
** TheMillstone: Is so poor in challenges that even Jeff calls her out on it. At one point, Noura had to ''drag'' her to the finish line. Having her on your team is almost begging to be sent to tribal.
* MistreatmentInducedBetrayal: After eliminating Chelsea to save her, Missy assumed Karishma would be forever grateful. Karishma, however, disliked how Missy condescended her and treated her as though she weren't her equal. Thus, she chooses to betray her.
* PlayingSick: Karishma goes on an idol hunt and is back after an hour carrying only two coconuts, raising suspicion. She then decides to play up her perceived patheticness to convince her tribe mates she was in a daze. Lauren even asked if they should call medical.
* SitcomArchNemesis: She dislikes Dean for bringing her up as the split vote sacrifice and targeting her almost every tribal since.
* SmartGirl: Passed the bar in three different states, all on the first try. Sandra notes during the premiere that she's smart.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Has a very strong fear of alligators. She wrote in her bio that just ''writing the word down'' gave her chills.
* YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre: She receives a rather subdued one from Jeff, of all people.

* LaserGuidedKarma: After the episode where she weaponizes Dan's behavior, she ended up losing both of her biggest allies in the game; leaving her all alone.
** And then she's eliminated the very next episode due to Karishma having an idol, despite the fact Karishma was willing to work with her to get out Dan.

* IneffectualSympatheticVillain: She was the main negative force on Lairo, being a useless loser who did nothing around camp and whose presence invited defeats. Compounding that, she was rescued at the expense of Chelsea and Tom, who didn't suck as much. Everyone thinks she sucks and sees her as the perfect goat, yet she has accrued the most votes of the season. She would be someone everyone would roll their eyes at if they didn't see how much she struggles fitting in.
** This is shaken off after the merge because, she becomes a heroic figure who opposes the likes of Missy.

* IJustWannaBeBadass: She expected herself to be the Jungle Queen, where she would rock the social, strategic and physical game. She sucks at all three and laments that she is seen as nothing but a goat.

* HateSink: The editors have made it clear we are ''not'' supposed to like her in any way shape or form.

* DitzyGenius: Downplayed on both aspects. His background and occupation suggest that he's a smart man, which is why they insist putting him on puzzles, but he's looking like the island doofus, so far.

* SpotlightStealingSquad: These two are the biggest names in Survivor history and seasons with twist islands tend to eat up a lot of time (Ghost Island being the most recent example). It's actually subverted because their segments aren't particularly long.

* TheAce: Elizabeth has competed in three different Olympics, winning silver and bronze medals at the 2012 London Games. Unlike [[Characters/SurvivorGabon Crystal Cox]], her Olympic skill blows everyone out of the water.
* AnguishedDeclarationOfLove: Platonic version, but she tells Aaron she loves him when she sees him on the jury.
* BirdsOfAFeather: Her closest allies are Missy and Aaron, both of which are in super game mode.
* BreakTheHaughty: She was in a very powerful position as her alliance pretty much controlled the votes. In one fell swoop, her two closest allies are voted off and she has to now strategize alone.
* CommonalityConnection: She likes having Tom around because of their shared experience of being athletes.
* DemotedToExtra: Was one of the prominent players in the premiere by virtue of being sent to Island of the Idols, but her content quickly drops off after that, where she usually narrates the current situation.
* TheDragon: She's Missy's closest ally.
* {{Gaslighting}}: She came to Janet in order to talk about how terrible and uncomfortable Dan made her feel, which causes Janet to take action, she downplays it when confronted after the vote.
* HiddenDepths: Elizabeth is also a trained violinist.
* IdiotBall: Tries to go up against Boston Rob in a fire-making challenge to win an idol even though Boston Rob is an expert at making fire and she learned five minutes ago. Then later chooses to lie to the rest of her tribe about what the Island of the Idols is even though another of her tribemates will get to go there soon enough (although that one is played with as Elanie was not upset when she found out herself).
* ItsAllMyFault: Her competitive nature meant she wanted to take the fall for losing the 4th immunity challenge in which she was the caller. It was actually the closest that Lairo had to winning a challenge over Vokai.
* JawDrop: By the end of Episode 9, she lost her two closest allies Aaron and Missy, leaving her jaw on the ground after the latter's elimination.
* {{Keet}}: She is a very excitable lady.
* LaserGuidedKarma: After the episode where she weaponizes Dan's behavior, she ended up losing both of her biggest allies in the game; leaving her all alone.
* TookALevelInJerkass: Decides to weaponize Dan's behaviour in order to vote Kellee off and spends the next episode gaslighting Janet.
* WoundedGazelleGambit: Exaggerated Dan's inappropriate behavior towards herself in order to get close to Janet.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: She is actually 25 and the only person on the season younger than her is Jack, but you'd be forgiven for thinking she's in her early thirties. Having Olympic-level training will do that to a person.
