Geonosians are insect-like beings, complete with wings, nesting in colonies, who conspired with the Separatists to develop plans for the first Death Star.
----
* AirborneMooks: The winged warrior caste. Also double as EliteMooks in their hierarchy, as they are slightly larger than the drones.
* DeathByAdaptation: In post-Prequel Trilogy Legends stories, there was nothing suggesting that the species suffered from a genocide campaign despite their involvement in the Death Star's construction and survived for at least fifty more years. In this continuity, while not every Geonosian was killed during the planet's "sterilization", it would seem the species as a whole is endangered unless there are other Geonosian hives offworld.
* InsectoidAliens: They're a race of bipedal, human-sized bugs.
* InUniverseNickname: They are sometimes simply called "Bugs" by Clone Troopers and other Republic forces.
* Mooks: During the Geonosis scenes in Film/AttackOfTheClones and the Geonosis arc in The Clone Wars. In terms of the Geonosian hierarchy, the wingless drone caste are the basic mooks.
* NightOfTheLivingMooks: There are undead Geonosians controlled by brain parasites in "Legacy of Terror".
* RacialRemnant: After the Clone Wars, the Empire proceeded to bomb the planet from orbit, wiping out nearly all the planet's queens and hives. At least two survived, Klik-Klak and a Geonosian Queen egg, which hatched into the next Karina the Great seen in Darth Vader, building a new race of Geonosian battle droids.
* RayGun: They carry sonic blasters, which fire sonic waves of energy.
* ScreamsLikeALittleGirl: They let out a high-pitched shriek before getting killed.
* StarfishLanguage: The Geonosian language is heavy on insect-like sounds such as clicking and buzzing.
* TookALevelInBadass: In The Clone Wars during the Second Battle of Geonosis, they are shown to be much more dangerous than they were in Attack of the Clones due to being intelligent creatures instead of mindless automatons like most Separatist military (a practice later repeated with the Umbarans). This also contributed to the infamously high clone body count in "Landing at Point Rain".
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: Once the Empire decides to move the Death Star's construction site from Geonosis to Scarif, they proceeded to "sterilize" the planet, partially because the Geonosians are no longer essential for a work force but mostly because they want to keep the Death Star a secret.

The true leader of the Geonosians during the Clone Wars, Karina resides beneath the Progate Temple, where she lays eggs and issues orders to public leaders like Poggle the Lesser. WordOfGod reveals that her name is actually a title, meaning that every Queen is called "Karina the Great."
----
* AdiposeRex: Although unlike most examples, it's only due to having a bloated egg sac instead of being obese.
* AliensSpeakingEnglish: Unlike most Geonosians, the Geonosian queens are the only ones that have been seen speaking Basic. However, it's incredibly broken Basic.
* ExplosiveBreeder: Like all insect queens, Karina the Great can lay an egg every eight seconds. Nearly all of the Geonosian queens, however, lost their ability to breed thanks to Empire's sterilization of the planet.
* HiveQueen: Of the Geonosian Hive. This HiveMind can also extend to non-Geonosians and dead Geonosians through the use of parastic brain worms.
* LargeHam: It seems every Geonosian queen speaks in an over the top manner, despite their scratchy voice and broken Basic.
* LegacyCharacter: Every Geonosian queen is called Karina the Great, according to Pablo Hidalgo. This explains the seemingly UnexplainedRecovery of Karina between The Clone Wars and Darth Vader. They were two different queens.
* YouNoTakeCandle: Because Geonosians don't normally speak Basic, the queens' attempts at speaking it amount to this.

!!!Tropes applying only to Karina the Great from the The Clone Wars era
* KilledOffForReal: She died when the Progate Temple collapsed on her. Although a Geonosian queen named Karina the Great did appear during the Age of the Empire, it is a different individual as the name "Karina the Great" is merely a title.
* MindControl: She had plans for assimilating Jedi into her HiveMind through brain worms.
* Necromancer: She's able to control undead Geonosians, but instead of through typical necromancy, it's through brain parasites (whether they can reanimate the corpses of other species remains a mystery).
* OrcusOnHisThrone: Justified. Not only is she a HiveQueen, her egg sac keeps her from even moving from her spot. This was also a contributing factor in her death when the Progate Temple collapsed around her.
* PuppeteerParasite: Her brain worms, which she can use to enslave the minds of dead Geonosians and other species (but dead members of other species is ambiguous). They start looking for new hosts after Karina was buried, taking over an entire medical frigate's clone crew.
* ShadowDictator: Played with. The Geonosians know she exists, but until the events of "Legacy of Terror", the Geonosians having a queen was only a rumor to off-worlders.

!!!Tropes applying only to Karina the Great from the Galactic Civil War era:
* LastOfHerKind: She hatched from the last queen egg that survived the sterilization of Geonosis, under the care of Klik-Klak. And since she cannot reproduce naturally without a droid womb factory, she will likely be the last Geonosian Queen as well as the last Geonosian in general.
* ReplacementGoldfish: The Geonosian battle droids are seen as her "children" not machines, no doubt to coup with the fact that she can not reproduce.

* BeautyEqualsGoodness: While still an insect, Klik-Klak has a lot cuter of a design than his people, and a lot sweeter variant of the Geonosian language, due to his sympathetic portrayal.
* TheCaretaker: He protects and guards the last queen egg.
* TheEngineer: Due to presumably being a worker, he has kept a shield generator and small droid army up and running for protection.
* LastOfHisKind: Perhaps the last Geonosian worker drone on the planet, as Ezra could not detect kind of sentient life when he first came to Geonosis. He did have shot of not being the last one by taking care of the last queen egg in order for her to repopulate the planet, but it is ultimately revealed in ComicBook/StarWarsDarthVader that the queen is sterile and could only reproduce battle droid mockeries with a womb factory, making him truly the last natural Geonosian left.
* NonMaliciousMonster: Ezra points out that he was just protecting himself from Saw's men, as they had come there with weapons and as the apparent SoleSurvivor he has reason to be afraid.
* OnlyKnownByHisNickname: Klik-Klak is named for the first thing he said to Ezra, as he isn't capable of speaking Basic.
* RogueDrone: Donwplayed. Due to his queen being an egg, he is very independent for a member of the drone caste, but is making sure that his race survives.
* RunningOnAllFours: Klik-Klak is capable of doing so in order to move faster, and is able to outrun Ezra this way.
* ShaggyDogStory: His protection of the last queen egg to bring back the Geonosian race amounts to this when WordOfGod reveals that the egg will hatch into the sterilized queen from Darth Vader, essentially only delaying the inevitable extinction of their kind thus far.
* SoleSurvivor: Of the Geonosian sterilization along with the unhatched queen egg.
* TheUnintelligible: Due to his species not speaking the language, though he can clearly understand Basic. Unfortunately due to this, his attempts to tell them upon the Death Star his people built are confused for first the egg, and then the poison canisters that killed his people.

A Outer Rim world occupied by the Separatists near the end of the Clone Wars. After being liberated by Jedi Master Depa Billaba and her Padawan Caleb Dume, the two were betrayed on Kaller by their clone troopers during Order 66, which Dume escaped from. The clone troopers then occupied the planet, which became part of the Galactic Empire.

The governor of Kaller during the Separatist occupation and under the Empire's rule.
----
* CorruptPolitician: To a certain extent. He looks the other way for certain criminal elements like Janus and Tapusk so long as they give him useful information.
* EveryoneHasStandards: When he learns that Caleb is going to be executed by the clone troopers for treason, Key is stunned and almost protests, but lets the matter drop and tells Caleb to make peace with the Force, knowing that it would be foolhardy to defy the Empire.
** Fourteen years later, Key has come to realize that the Empire is far worse than any of its predecessors and offers his aid to the Ghost crew should they ever need assistance.
* FailedASpotCheck: Does not recognize Kanan as Caleb. Potentially subverted, as he followed Kanan to Tapusk's hideout and then made a few comments, such as calling him "master" and referencing Janus Kasmir, that hint he may actually know who Kanan is but decided not to mention it.

A strong believer in the Force and the ideals of the Jedi, she distrusted the Empire and Director Orson Krennic, helping her husband discover that they were having him develop a superweapon using Kyber crystals, at which point they fled Coruscant with the help of Saw Gurrera.
----
* BetterToDieThanBeKilled: Lyra clearly holds this attitude when Krennic comes to claim her family. She knows that she's leverage that can be used to build a weapon that will threaten the galaxy. !Lasan

!!Lasan
->Location: Lasan System, Outer Rim Territories
->Native species: Lasat

A world protected by its own military, the Lasan High Honor Guard, refraining from participation in the Clone Wars before being devastated and massacred by the Galactic Empire via starship disruptors.
----
* CanonImmigrant: There actually was a Lasan in Legends AND a 'Suppression of Lasan' caused by the Empire too, and the only Lasat that was known in Legends was a bounty hunter named Puggles Trodd.
** Lasat culture is also the first instance of Ashla and Bogan in canon. The Bendu later expands on this in Season 3.
* CodeOfHonor: Has a warrior code, especially followed by members of the High Honor Guard.
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: The massacre was mainly through disruptors (which were meant to fry machinery, not living beings), and you can imagine how well that goes when you get shot by one.
* MagicByAnyOtherName: They refer to the Force in whole as the Ashla, personifying it as the 'spirit of the Galaxy'. Judging by Zeb's nickname for the pests around Chopper Base, the Bogan is presumably some sort of negative version of 'the Ashla', likely the other name for Dark side.
* MixAndMatchWeapon: The bo-rifle, manufactured by the Lasan-Malamut Firearms Corporation, has a bayonet mode and a staff mode. It apparently packs 11,000 bolts and is ridiculously heavy for species that don't have the same strength as a Lasat (which is saying something for Agent Kallus, who can hold the blaster with one arm).
* NoBodyLeftBehind: Never explicitly described in the show, but the novelization of "Droids in Distress" and Legends, getting shot by a disruptor means your body is disintegrated; it turns to complete ash.
* RoyalBlood: There used to be a royal family. The LastStand was to defend them at the palace, which was lost. Their fate is unknown as Zeb was knocked out by a bomb for the entire duration of the battle.
* ShockAndAwe: The bo-rifle in staff mode.
* YouKillItYouBoughtIt: A warrior code is that if one is defeated by a superior foe in single combat, they give up their weapon to them. Stealing it (especially if it's a bo-rifle and you looted it from the corpse of its owner) is very much considered dishonorable.

An Anacondan scavenger living on the desolate junkyard world of Lotho Minor.
----
* BewareTheSillyOnes: He can be persistently nosy, but he's also very treacherous.
* BitchInSheepsClothing[=/=]ChronicBackstabbingDisorder: He seems to pull this with a lot of his victims. Savage Opress was the last one.
* BullyingADragon: Subverted in that Morley knows to be careful when it comes to killing his victims, even the ones that could easily kill him. First, when he offers to help Savage in exchange for some payment, he wisely backs down when Savage squeezes on his neck and offers to help him for free. Then he lures Savage into a trap (already knowing how badass Savage is) to be killed by an insane Darth Maul. This seems to have worked before for him, but he failed to predict Savage surviving Maul and ends up getting his neck broken for his trouble.
* DirtyCoward: In addition to ambushing his enemies and backstabbing his prey after trying to gain their trust, he prefers to let Darth Maul kill his meals for him. He also tends to beg for his life when he's threatened.
* IntelligentGerbil: Anacondans are simply large sentient snakes that can talk.
* ImAHumanitarian: It's unknown but implied that he's done this before (and the only other sentient species on Lotho Minor are Cyborg Junkers), but he was definitely going to "get the leftovers" after he let Darth Maul kill Savage Opress. And yes, sentient-on-sentient is still cannibalism, even between StarfishAliens and humanoids (and some Anacondans are shown to be citizens on Coruscant).
* KarmicDeath: Killed by Savage Opress, who he tried to have killed by Darth Maul so he could eat him. Savage was more angry at him for taking advantage of his brother's insanity, and then ingloriously threw his corpse into a fire after killing him.
* LackOfEmpathy: He decided to take advantage of Maul's insanity to kill potential meals for him rather than help cure his madness.
* MoreTeethThanTheOsmondFamily: Not very noticeable, but if you closely inside his mouth, he's got a lot of teeth.
* NeckSnap: His death, courtesy of Savage Opress.
* OhCrap: His reaction upon learning that Savage survived his encounter with Darth Maul.
* ReptilesAreAbhorrent: He starts off as a friendly individual to Savage of all people, but he eventually reveals that he's only in it to bring more victims to his master.
* ShoutOut: His voice seems to be based on Arnold Ernst Toht's.
* SmugSnake: He had a very good run of luring victims for Darth Maul to kill until he brought Savage, not having expected him to survive the encounter. As an Anacondan, he's also a literal example of this trope.

!Mon Cala

!!Mon Cala
->Location: Mon Calamari System, Calamari Sector, Outer Rim Territories
->Native Species: Mon Calamari, Quarren

A watery world also known as Mon Calamari or Dac, Mon Cala is the homeworld to two sentient species - the Mon Calamari and the Quarren. It is ruled by a Mon Calamari monarchy with support from a mixed council of Mon Calamari and Quarrens. While the two species have had numerous clashes over cultural differences, they have coexisted relatively peacefully. The two species did have a brief war during the Clone Wars during a SuccessionCrisis, and the world was later subjected to heavy exploitation and occupation by the Galactic Empire. The Mon Calamari became one of the key species of the Rebel Alliance, contributing numerous warships and personnel to the war effort.
----
* BinarySuns: Mon Cala has two stars in its system.
* Cthulhumanoid: The Quarrens.
* FishPeople: Both the Mon Calamari and the Quarrens.
** The Mon Calamari look like humanoid fish, with high-domed heads, webbed hands and large, goggle-like eyes.
** The Quarrens resemble squids, and can even shoot out clouds of ink as a defensive measure.
* SuccessionCrisis: During the Clone Wars, King Yos Kolina was murdered. He had kept good relations between the Mon Calamari and the Quarrens, but the Separatists, who had secretly arranged his murder, sent Karkarodon Riff Tamson to inflame tensions between the two species, which led to a CivilWar between the two. The crisis ended when the Quarrens turned on the Separatists after they realized they had been tricked and that Riff was behind the murder of King Kolina and was planning on taking the throne of Mon Cala.
* UnderwaterCity: The Mon Calamari and Quarren's both live in underwater cities.

->Appears in: The Clone Wars

Heir to the throne of Mon Calamari after the death of his father, King Yos Kolina. He ascended to the throne after helping stop a Seperatist plot to pit the Mon Calamari and the Quarren against each other in a civil war.
----
* AChildShallLeadThem: Initially deconstructed, as the Quarren refuse to acknowledge him as King of Mon Cala following the assassination of his father because of his young age and lack of experience, and even without the Quarren's disapproval, he's not that confident in his leadership abilities. But once he carries his weight and leads both his people to liberate the planet from the Separatists, this is reconstructed in the end and he is accepted by both races.
* AsskickingEqualsAuthority: Lee-Char's bravery and leadership during the battle to reclaim Mon Cala are what inspire the people, Mon Calamari and Quarren alike, to accept him as their king.
* AwesomeMomentOfCrowning: He's crowned King of the Mon Cala seas at the end of the trilogy, and it was Nosso Ri, who earlier claimed that he was unfit to rule, who put the crown on his head.
* FishPeople: He's a Mon Calamari.
* ThePowerOfFriendship: It was his determination to protect all people of Mon Cala, combined with Tamson's repeated KickTheDog moments that convinced Nosso Ri and the Quarrens that he's the most suitable King for the planet.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: Through out the Mon Calamari arc he made one desparete attempt after another to protect his people and their planet, and despite most of them failing, he never gave up, until he finally succeeded.
* TooDumbToLive: Had a moment of this, when he stood up to give a speech to his captured people in front of an army worth of droids and Quarrens, with only two Jedi and two clones at his side.
* TookALevelInBadass: In his debut episode he couldn't even fire a blaster straight. Two episodes later he lead the final battle against Tamson's droids, and killed Tamson himself.
* WarriorPrince: Subverted. While he did lead all of the mayor battles on Mon Calamari side, his self-admitted and lampshaded inexperience was a huge handicap throughout his arc.
* TheWisePrince: Discounting his initial lack experience as a warrior, he fits to a T: he's honorable and kind, the well-being of his people is always his concern.
* YouKilledMyFather: Towards Riff Tamson. A bit downplayed however, since Lee-Char's main concern always remained saving his people, and he was completely calm and level-headed even when he claimed that he was sure about Tamson's guiltiness.

However, he soon realized his mistake in siding with the Separatists against Lee-Char and personally crowned him king after helping to defeat Riff Tamson.
----
* AntiVillain: He wants what is best for his people and the Mon Calamari, and is disgusted at Riff Tamson's treatment of the Mon Calamari soldiers and civilians who are captured.
* HeelFaceTurn: After seeing how the Separatists were treating the Mon Calamari and that Riff was planning to take the throne for himself, Nossor ordered his men to turn on the Separatists at Lee-Char's execution. He then led them is saving Lee-Char and freeing the Republic prisoners before uniting with the Mon Calamari to throw the Separatists off Mon Cala.
* MistreatmentInducedBetrayal: He not only betrayed Riff and the Separatists because of how they treated him and the Quarrens, but because of how they treated the captured Mon Calamari.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: He sincerely believed that Lee-Char was not suited to become king, being too young and inexperienced, especially during a time when the galaxy was at war. He changed his mind after seeing how Lee-Char acted during the war.

* ConvenientlyClosePlanet: With a gas giant, that is so close that Mustafar could be mistaken for a moon. A family of four consisting of Cut Lawquane, a deserter clone, his wife a Twi'lek woman named Suu, and her two children Shaeeah and Jek. They live on a farm on Saleucami.
----
* AbsoluteCleavage: All Suu wears on her upper body is a bra, made from two straps of leather that're tied around her vertically.
* AbsurdlyYouthfulFather: Cut is an interesting case. Chronologically he's eleven-twelve at the most, but due to the growth-accelaration used on all Fett-clones, he's biologically at least twice that old. Further more, Jek and Shaeeah are from Suu's previous relationship, thus, they're his step-children.
* AllThereInTheManual: The fact that Shaeeah and Jek are Twi'lek/Human hybrids, and that they're from Suu's previous relationship were only confirmed by WordOfGod and later in The Clone Wars Character Encyclopedia.
* BadassNormal: Cut might have deserted from the Clone Army, but he hasn't lost any of the badassery he got from being brought up as a soldier.
* ChildrenAreInnocent: Shaeeah, upon seeing Rex's face, innocently says "You look like my daddy!" While this might be taken at face-value as an inability to tell one male human from another, it's later revealed that she means it quite literally.
* ClonesArePeopleToo: Not only Cut is married and has family he wants, he even discussed this topic with Captain Rex.
* DefectorFromDecadence: Cut left the army after his whole squad was killed in battle, and he realized just how pointless and stupid the whole thing is.
* DisappearedDad: According to the manual, Suu's previous lover (biological father of her two children) "moved out of her life", whatever that means, leaving her with the challenge of raising two children alone until she met and married Cut.
* Foil: Cut got one in Gregor. They both lost their squads in a devastating battle. While Cut left the army out of his own will, and would like nothing more than to forget the horrors he saw, Gregor went missing, and lost his memories. Also when they were confronted by their earlier lifes, Cut declaired that he'd only ever fight again for his family. Gregor on the other hand JumpedAtTheCall and did everything in his power to assure the success of Gascon's mission.
* HappilyAdopted: Shaeeah and Jek are from Suu's previous relationship. Cut completely adores them, and they love him just as much.
* HappilyMarried: Cut and Suu.
* HalfHumanHybrid: Shaeeah and Jek are half-Twi'lek and half-Human.
* IJustWantToBeNormal: Cut wants live a simple life with his family, rather than fighting in a war he finds pointless.
* InterspeciesRomance: Cut (Human Clone) married Suu (Twi'lek).
* MamaBear: She didn't actually got to show what she can do, but Suu did greet Jesse and the other clones with a rifle pointed at them.
* MixedAncestry: Shaeeah and Jek are half-human/half-Twi'lek.
* MsFanservice: Suu is not only a Pink-Skinned Space Babe, but she's a very stripperiffic one.
* PapaWolf: Cut even claimed that although he did desert from the army, he'd fight to the death to protect his family, a claim he later proved spectacularly by taking on twenty -albeit damaged- Commando Droids, and defeating most of them.
* PatchWorkKids: Shaeeah has both human-like and Twi'lek blueish patches of skin, "ear cones" and the length of her lekku are similar to Numa's who's a full-blooded Twi'lek girl of roughly the same age. Jek apparently has entirely human skin, humaoid ears and his lekku appear to be much shorter, than what the age difference between him and Shaeeah would indicate.
* RubberForeheadAlien: Suu, Shaeeah and Jek.
* ShellShockedVeteran: Cut, and only after one battle.
* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: Suu's attraction to Cut was based in the fact that she believed he would do anything to protect his adoptive children.

!The Outer Rim Territories
-->"You don't survive in the Outer Rim by being stupid!"
--->--Hondo Ohnaka

The largest region of the galaxy, the Outer Rim is situated between the Mid Rim and the unexplored expanses of the Unknown Regions and Wild Space. Situated far from the Core Worlds, the Outer Rim worlds have a reputation for lawlessness, as the Republic cared little for enforcing its laws in the remote region which, baring for a few exceptions, provided little in the way of trade or resources for the affluent worlds of the Core. Many Outer Rim worlds were occupied by the Empire following the Clone Wars as it sought to expand its war machine, with many of the worst Imperial atrocities occurring here, far from the eyes of the Core Worlds. In the aftermath of the Galactic Civil War, a number of Outer Rim worlds joined the New Republic, although some worlds, like Ryloth, chose independence over joining another galactic government.

Most of Hutt Space is situated in the Outer Rim, with the Hutt Clans and other criminal organizations holding sway on worlds throughout the region. The Mandalore Sector also lays within the Outer Rim.
