* NeverBeHurtAgain: Cade loses his father at the start of the series and the pain this causes him, along with his inability to properly deal with it, causes him to strongly cling to those he does manage to develop bonds with in order to avoid suffering the same pain of loss ever again. This leads to him unlocking and using his Dark Transfer ability to heal his Jedi Master, Wolf Sazen, shortly after losing his father, which in turn causes Cade to call on the Dark Side of the Force. Using the ability afterwards constantly causes him to get closer and closer to the Dark Side and he continually uses it to avoid losing those he loves, such as Jariah and Blue. This reaches a tipping point when he uses the ability to forcibly keep Azlyn Rae alive, even though she begs him to let her go, saying that she is ready to accept death. Though she does end up surviving, Azlyn cuts off all ties with Cade afterwards, telling him that he forced his own will upon her. When Cade responds that he loves her, she tells him that he doesn't love anyone and only cares about himself.
