* AscendedExtra: To an extent in the anime adaptation. In the manga Dia held a vital but sparse role as Amu's most powerful Guardian Character who represented her personal radiance and proved vital in the latter story arcs, while in the anime although she lacks some of these traits eventually became a mainstay alongside the original trio by the time of ''Party!''

* EvilCounterpart: Her Mystery-Transformation, Hinamori Dream (And the subsequents Gorgeous Heart, Gorgeous Spade and Gorgeous Clover), made her achieve this status, by having "evil" (Actually opposite rather than evil, but it still counts) versions of Amu's transformations and attacks... for one episode, [[LaserGuidedAmnesia and she doesn't even remember it.]]

* BunnyEarsLawyer: She's a [[CuteClumsyGirl total klutz]] and [[TheDitz not all there]] in the head, but when it comes to cooking, cleaning, and [[TheLastOfTheseIsNotLikeTheOthers purifying multiple X Eggs at once]], Suu and the Amulet Clover transformation are the best choice among Amu's Charas. She doesn't even need to use [[CareBearStare Open Heart]] to save the day.

* SpoiledBrat: [[spoiler: Has shades of this in the sense that wanting is always better than having; once he actually acquires the elusive Embryo (which to him looks like a shiny rock), it turns into an ordinary rock and he indifferently tosses it aside, immediately demanding the next big thing. Ultimately [[DeconstructedTrope deconstructed]] though since his heart is empty and he's always been chasing after material things to fill in that void.]]

* GreenEyedMonster: Mizue was convinced that her husband was in love with Souko, and took her jealousy out on Souko's children, [[TheScapegoat Ikuto most]] especially.

* TrueCompanions: After Aruto wen missing prompting Souko to go look for him, Yui took in his two best friends' children, no questions asked.

* AbusiveParents: [[spoiler:He treated his stepson and stepdaughter, Ikuto and Utau, respectively, like crap, because of his jealousy towards their biological DisappearedDad, Aruto. He also forced his grandson, Hikaru, into becoming the head of Easter while still young; while well-intentioned, he didn't even once take his grandson's feelings into consideration. This led Hikaru to suppress his loneliness and become emotionally stunted, resulting in the absence of his Heart's Egg.]]
* BigBad: Of both anime and manga, due to his actions.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: [[spoiler:He brainwashes Ikuto into becoming Death Rebel, to ensure his stepson's compliance.]]
* WellIntentionedExtremist: He only wanted to [[spoiler:realize the wish of his grandchild, but his extremist methods like crushing people's dreams and abusing his stepchildren are despicable. He also failed in properly raising his grandchild, who became cold and emotionless to suppress his deep feelings of loneliness]].

* WomenAreWiser: A mild example, since Midori is usually calmer and more rational than her [[{{Keet}} husband]].

* EvilIsPetty: Everyone wonders what EvilPlan Gozen wants to accomplish with [[MacGuffin the Embryo]], but he just wants it as part of his rock collection. One more time: Hikaru ordered Kazuomi to send hundreds of innocent kids over the DespairEventHorizon because the Embryo was a shiny rock. The Embryo itself is so saddened by this that [[OhCrap it stops shining and becomes a normal rock as soon as Hikaru touches it.]]
* EvilSoundsDeep: [[spoiler: Except the deep voice is modulated by a device on his desk, which is part of the mysterious facade he puts up to the fact that he's definitely not old enough to be in charge of a [[MegaCorp Mega Corp]]. In person, Hikaru sounds like the little kid he is.]]

* WomenAreWiser: A mild example, since Midori is usually calmer and more rational than her [[{{Keet}} husband]]. When she finally finds out about Ikuto, she patiently listens to Amu's explanations and then springs into action to find Ikuto a place to stay.

* DotingParents: Most visibly towards Ami since she's a toddler.
* HappilyMarried: To an almost SickeninglySweethearts degree.
* ParentalObliviousness: Like most adults, they are course none of the wiser to the existence of the guardian characters, and
* WomenAreWiser: A mild example, since Midori is usually calmer than her [[{{Keet}} husband]].

* TastesLikeDiabetes

* CuteButCacophonic: Not that her parents think so, but Amu seems to be bemused by Ami's squealy singing being deemed as fantastic by her parents.

* DefrostingIceQueen: A male example who later warms up towards Amu, and later, the rest of the Guardians.

The current King of the Guardians; polite, smiling Tadase couldn't be any more popular with the ladies (although he could care less). By the first day of school, even '''Amu''' has a crush on him, leading her to confess (however she was turned down, as he already liked someone - ...his dog.) His Guardian character, Kiseki, was born from his desire to grow stronger - but of course, in true Manga/ShugoChara fashion, this translates to having Kiseki's dream being to TakeOverTheWorld.

* {{Bokukko}}: She uses the tomboyish 'boku' as a first-person pronoun.
