* MortalityPhobia: Wither develops one or becomes more pronounced after the events of Chapter 2.

* TearsOfFear: Began to cry uncontrollably when [[spoiler: Kouya was discovered to have been the murderer. It was a combination of feelings – betrayal, fear, sadness, anger.]] Oten tends to cry when he's afraid.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Oten was ''pissed'' at Banri [[spoiler: after he killed Nagisa and Boa and tried to get away with it]]. He tried to tell him that whatever advice he might have is irrelevant because of [[spoiler: the blood on his hands]]. [[spoiler: He begins to give Banri another one after ''he's'' died as well. He couldn't stop himself, really.]]

* ShooOutTheClowns: While he never really ''dies'', his CharacterDevelopment throughout the RP downplays his sillier traits. Other than that, he's still the loving, brotherly blonde he was at the beginning.

* CannotTalkToWomen: Not necessarily that he's a wreck, but he just doesn't seem to be able to say the right things. He wants to compliment them, but he insults them. [[http://shslhitman.tumblr.com/post/85803066977/task-1-despair-report-open See: Nice cans.]]

* BigBrotherInstinct: Misaki reminds him of one of his sisters — he feels a little protective of her for that, even though he doesn’t know her that well.

* TheRival: To Miwa. Neither of them got along with each other and they openly expressed their distrust of each other to Junpei. However, [[spoiler: post mortem]], she does mention she was surprised her inner strength.

* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: After the events of Chapter 3, Etsuko stares the killer, [[spoiler: Ai Senzaki]], straight in the face and tells her to rot in the darkest pits of hell. Take note that before this incident, she had been nothing short of nice and polite with all of the cast members, even [[{{Jerkass}} Masato]]. This all turns out to be foreshadowing to the fact that [[spoiler: she's not what she seems to be. See the "Spoilers" folder below.]]

* AffablyEvil[=/=]FauxAffablyEvil: Fluctuates on either. While it ''is'' true that she has trapped everyone else inside of the prison, she was still genuinely polite with them and wanted them to redeem themselves.

* KnightTemplar: Having gone rogue from the Future Foundation to give the inmates a chance to redeem themselves, she figures herself a savior of the broken and damned. However, she decides that only the purest of the lot could survive the temptations presented in the game, and thus a new session was created.

* DoomMagnet: Oten's life is put in danger every single day. Danger and despair is his life – and yet in the one situation it shouldn't be, i.e. going to school and making friends, it's in danger yet again. Side note, even when he moved from Ultimate Bullet Time to Roulette Rampage, things still go awful for him as far as making friends goes. Seems the trope extends past the fourth wall for this one.

* KnightTemplar: He's basically what you'd get if Kira was a hitman.

* ToBeLawfulOrGood: After the events of Chapter 2, Oten becomes increasingly conflicted with his feelings towards his friends and their decidedly dishonorable secrets, coming to a head when he speaks with the [[spoiler: Banri Alter Ego.]]
