The boss of the first section og the first level, Creeper's Nest. Somewhat of an icon among the Creeps for being one of the main recruiters, he's also one of the bounty targets provided by Rustam.

* MaddenIntoMisanthropy: Apparently, he hates everybody. Given the way most people act in the future, this should not come as a surprise.

* TooGoodForThisSinfulEarth: {{Downplayed}}, as he's still a vicious gang leader and a murderer, but nonetheless: Nerve is one of - if not the ''only'' - charachter you meet with a strict code of honor. Examples of this can be seen in his loyalty in fulfilling the contract protecting [[spoiler: Wizard]] from you, despite viewing him as nothing more than an arrogant worm, or how, after being defeated by the protagonist, he fulfills his "winner takes all" formula pronounced at the beginning of their duel and passes on the Creeps' leadership to the protagonist. Also, his {{Father To His Men}} attitude comes off as quite an improvement over [[NightmareFuel HEAVEN's]] [[BodyHorror treatment of]] [[MindRape Third]] [[LotusEaterMachine Children]].
* WakeUpCallBoss: Even with reflex mode [[BulletTime on]] you'll still have a hard time shaking him off

* MaddenIntoMisanthropy: Apparently, he hates everybody. Given the way most people act in the future, should not come as a surprise.
* LeanAndMean: His bios states that, despite being 200 cm tall (around 6'7), he weights only 55 kg. The "mean" part comes from his repeated ([[NintendoHard and most likely succesful]]) attempts to kill you

* {{Determinator}}: Despite seemingly overwhelming odds, including (but not limited to) armies of Cyborg mooks, heavily armored bodyguards, railgun-wielding psychos,a sadistic master computer and a huge bounty on his head (that is, not counting the almost limitless financial and social power of HEAVEN), the Protagonist will stop at nothing to save his brother. [[spoiler:Or, as it is by the end of the game on, kill him]].

* AnimalMotif: Hackers refer to him as a lapdog one way or another.

* StepfordSmiler: She was abandoned by her parents not even for being a Third Born and all around as a shitty life yet keeps the party girl act on.

* AxCrazy: They compensate for their lack of heavy firepower with insanity, with some being suicide bombers and torturing cops for fun.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: After you kill Nerve they consider you part of their crew.

* AnimalMotif: Hackers refer to him as a lapdog.

* DoesntLikeGuns: As per his samurai-esque code of honor, he despises guns and other ranged weapons, as he believes the only honorable way to fight an opponent is head on in a (pretty) fair duel.
* LargeAndInCharge: He's definately bigger, taller and bulkier than the average Creep, and is the leader (and founder) of the gang.
* NobleDemon: Has a very strict code of honor and, no matter how unpleasant or disadvantageous the situation is to him (like, say, a murderous psychopath storming his hideout and murdering his men all for the sake of a guy he's tasked with protecting but nonetheless hates), he'll see his deals through. He's also pretty civil towards the Protagonist and, once defeated, allows him to finally get to [[spoiler:Wizard]]. All in all, Her sums him as a "samurai outside his tiemframe".

* NobleDemon:

* {{Determinator}}: Despite seemingly overwhelming odds, including (but not limited to) armies of Cyborg mooks, heavily armored bodyguards, railgun-wielding psychos,a sadistic master computer and a huge bounty on his head (that is, not counting the almost limitless financial and social power of HEAVEN), the Protagonist will stop at nothing to save his brother. [[spoiler: Or, as it is by the end of the game on, kill him]].
* PetTheDog: Despite being a brutal, murderous psychopath without a visible sense of mercy, he nonetheless shows in many istances to be just good enough to not qualify as a villain. [[{{CrapsackWorld}} Granted, though, that given the condition Rengkok is in, it doesn't take much to be morally superior to the average guy]].
** The whole plot is centered about the rescue of his little brother, a third child - that is, an unwanted person that usually suffers a miserable fate. Despite having little to no memory of him ([[spoiler:and those few he has may be manipulated or outright made up by Her]]), he wastes no time and immediatly embarks on an incredibly deadly quest to save him. [[spoiler: Even though in the end it is revealed that there never was a "kidnapped third brother" and it was all an elaborate BatmanGambit concocted by Her in order to get to your ''real'' brother, the CEO of Heaven, it's nonetheless the tought that counts]].
** During his final showdown with [[spoiler: Wizard]], after the latter is reduced to a fearful mess, he's given the option to hesitate when prompted by Her to kill him, showing that, despite his bloodlust (and despite [[spoiler: Wizard being the same guy that puppeteered and left you to die in the prologue]]), he's still capable of a shred of empathy. [[spoiler: [[{{SubvertedTrope}} That said, he ultimately kills him by hacking into and frying his brain nonetheless]]]].
** Is kind nough to put his quest on hold and help other citizens of Rengkok South with their own missions, such as the Hooligan C.A.T.S. girl.
* TheJuggernaut: Ties in with "Determinator" above; The guy has one job, and one job only: rescue his little brother. No matter what HEAVEN and its lackeys throw at him - be it giant, Minotaur-shaped cyborgs or master assassins from the Rengkok underbelly, nothing so far has had any success in even coming close to stopping him.

* AffectionateNickname: Has an habit of calling the protagonist "Puppy". [[spoiler: All in all, makes sense, as she's basically exploiting him like an attack dog, the "bone" being his nonexistant little brother]].
* AmbiguouslyHuman: By the end of the game, [[spoiler: as she frees the Protagonist and reveals her plot to Big Dog, she starts "breaking down", claiming to be far more than what she appears to be, as her visage becomes more and more robot-like, suggesting she may be a cyborg or an AI.]]
* ALighterShadeOfBlack: When compared to the rest of Rengkok, at least. [[spoiler: On the one hand, she lied to the protagonist all along, forcing him into a lethal quest and having him murder hundreds - if not ''thousands''- of people, all to further her goals, and putting him at costant danger, to point of threatening to kill him ]]. However,[[spoiler: for all her deceiveness, she is genuinely working for a positive goal - that is, collapse HEAVEN and free the millions trapped in its nightmarish [[{{VirtualReality}} "Virtuality"]], and seems to genuinely care for her "Puppy", as, once it is all over, she tells him that he's now free. Plus, most of the people she had the Protagonist murder had it coming]].
* ButNowIMustGo: [[spoiler: By the end of the game, as her plan is fully unveiled, she bids a temporary farewell to the protagonist, setting him free. Her last interaction with him is a request to finally meet in person, "where Heaven falls."]]

* DoubleReverseQuadrupleAgent: On the surface, her goal is help the Protagonist rescue his little brother and exact his revenge on the kidnappers; [[spoiler: however, it is revealed that she had been working for HEAVEN's CEO himself; there never was any kidnapped brother, and all the people who were killed were actually conspiring againist the Boss: she lied to give her "Puppy" a reason to go on with it.]]. Yet again, however, [[spoiler: it is once again revealed that she never truly worked for HEAVEN: it was all a ruse to gain the Boss confidence, so that she could have the Protagonist murder him.]] In the end, [[spoiler: the only cause she was serving, altruistic as it is, was her own]].
* EnthusiasmVsStoicism: Compared to the almost indecifrable, monolith-like, enigmatic protagonist, she is quite the enthusiastic type, often cheering on her "Puppy" (or consoling him if he has low post-battle scores) and employing a fluent, often colorful and emoji-filled writing style.
* EveryoneHasStandards: [[spoiler: Despite setting in motion the carnage perpetrated by the protagonist and having no qualms in controlling, manipulating, torturing and blackmailing others, she is genuinely horrified by the horrors of Virtuality and by HEAVEN's iron-fisted mercylessness.]]
* WellIntentionedExtremist: [[spoiler: A liar, a deceiver, ready to MindRape whoever has valuable information or outright kill them - that is, not counting the damage and death caused by her instigation of the Protagonist. Yet, all of this is done in order to collapse the crushing, inhumanly cruel dystopia erected by HEAVEN.]]

A [[{{Cyborg}} hard-wired]], short tempered, masked [[SociopathicHero sociopath]] whose talking skills are inversely proportional to his skills in transforming his enemies in red, bloody paste. After being puppeteered in killing the Boss of resident MegaCorp, HEAVEN, he's saved at the last instant by a mysterious hacker claiming that whoever set him up has taken his little brother, apparently the last living member of his family, and that she can help rescue him...
