One of Beacon's first year teams.

His Quirk, "One for All", is a unique Quirk that has been passed down between people ever since the Dawn of Quirks, of which he's the ninth holder. This Quirk stockpiles a tremendous quantity of power, granting him SuperStrength and SuperSpeed, although, as his body is not able to withstand its full power, he uses a small - but growing - percentage of it. A brown-haired, rosy-cheeked girl that comes from a struggling family, and sought to become a Hero to help them economically. After Izuku saved her during U.A.'s Entrance Exam, Ochako became his best friend and first supporter, and is eager to fight alongside him against the dangers in the new world they now find themselves in.

Her Quirk, "Zero Gravity", allows her to make anything or anyone she touches with her hand weightless.

Her weapon is "Sputnik", a fire-axe that also doubles up as a submachine-gun.

A green-haired girl with frog-like features, Tsuyu is a dependable, stoic girl who doesn't hesitate to make her opinion clear. First one of Ochako's friends, and becoming close with Izuku after the USJ attack, she acts as the voice of caution among her friends.

Current second-in-command of Team MOAT.

Her Quirk, "Frog", gives her a great number of abilities that resemble those of frogs, like improved agility, great leg strength that lets her jump very high, and an extensible tongue, among other features.

A reserved teen whose most striking feature is his head, which resembles that of a raven. He tends to speak in antiquated linguistics, being termed a {{Chuunibyou}} by his classmates.

His Quirk, "Dark Shadow", is a rare case of a sentient Quirk that manifests as a shadowy monster that inhabits Tokoyami's body and comes out to fight on his behalf, and whose power depends on the light level - the weaker the light, the stronger Dark Shadow is, and the harder it is for Tokoyami to control it.

His weapon is "Underminer", a shovel/rifle whose shovelhead can be detached and used as a shield or shot as a projectile.

His Quirk, "Engine", manifests as a pair of engines in his legs, that give him SuperSpeed.

1-A's shortest student and an unashamed pervert, Mineta is always eager to check out any attractive girl he sees. While his initial motives for heroism were less than wholesome, he is still willing to put the effort to prove himself a worthy hero.

Her Semblance is "Burn", which lets her absorb the energy from the blows that hit her and boost her strength to greater heights.

The monkey Faunus leader of Team SSSN, Sun was originally from Vacuo before he immigrated to Mistral to attend Haven Academy. He meets Teams MOAT and RWBY when he jumps out of the ship he stowed away in to reach Vale ahead of his team.

His weapons are Ruyi Bang and Ringu Bang, a pair of shotgun nunchucks that can combine to form a bo staff.

Her weapon is a diving knife, and "Red Arrow" a pair of gauntlets similar to Yang's Ember Celica, that deploy sticky Dust grenades.

His weapons are a katana-wazashi pair.

* TheMentor: He was this to Izuku during the training period before passing One for All to him, with limited success. He's nowadays acting as one for all of 1-A, with better results.

* CutenessProximity: Everyone who meets her falls in love with her. Even [[{{Jerkass}} Bakugo]] likes her.

Midoriya's old childhood-friend-turned-long-term-bully, Bakugo is an explosive (sometimes literally) teenager with little care for most of the people around him, and with the certainty that he will become Japan's Number One Hero.

His Quirk, "Explosion", turns the sweat produced in his hands and lower arms into a nitroglycerine-like liquid he can detonate to attack or to propel himself.

His weapon is an autocannon-warhammer combination.

* TheFriendNobodyLikes: He's the only one of 1-A's students that no one among the Hunters can stand.

* SecretKeeper: He's the only one of Izuku's classmates to know his Quirk comes from All Might.
* ATasteOfTheirOwnMedicine: PlayedForLaughs when Nora nicknames him [=McBoomy-Xplodesalot=].

A cheerful red-haired Hero student with a love for fighting in a brawl.

His Quirk, "Hardening", lets him turn his body into extremely strong rock, which gives him an increased resistance to physical attacks as well as greater power when attacking.

His Quirk, "Half-Cold, Half-Hot", allows him to create fire from the left side of his body and ice from the right side, letting him regulate his body temperature by combining them both.

His weapon is a baton-whip combination he can electrify with his Quirk.

U.A.'s resident doctor, Recovery Girl is a no-nonsense elder woman that isn't afraid of hitting you with her syringe-shaped cane if she thinks you have done something stupid.\\\

* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: He's the one that proposes hosting the Hero students and their teachers in Beacon.

Beacon Academy's Combat teacher. Goodwitch is a woman that is unwilling to let any nonsense go around while she's in charge of her class, but she'll go to fight along with her students if the situation requires it.

* YouRemindMeOfX: People that have met both him and Shota Aizawa consider them quite similar.

His weapon is Vulkan, a war-hammer that uses Dust crystals to empower the blows he deals out.

The black-haired, silver-eyed leader of Team RWBY, Ruby is a prodigy Huntsman-in-training who was admitted to Beacon two years ahead of her class, along with her sister Yang, and fights to protect people and make the world a better place.\\\

A blonde, boisterous, energetic young woman, Yang is a lover of good fighting, fun, and being with her friends. She's eager to get into battle with Grimm, and will protect her friends and her little sister Ruby with greater fervor.\\\

* BoxingBattler: Her fighting style relies primarily in using her gauntlet-covered fists to deliver terrible blows to her enemies.

* HumbleHero: In spite of her fame and amazing skills, she's very down to earth and unassuming.

* CutenessProximity: Everyone that meets her falls in love with her. Even [[{{Jerkass}} Bakugo]] likes her.

The heterochromic, dual-haired mute companion to Roman Torchwick, Neopolitan is a very capable fighter that only communicates through her body language and Semblance.\\\

The bull Faunus leader of the terrorist group White Fang, Adam Taurus seeks to overturn the current status quo through violent action to put Faunus on top of a fearful humanity, and doesn't care who he has to ally with if he can get that.\\\

Her Quirk, "Creation", allows her to use her natural fat resources to create any object, as long as she knows its molecular composition and holds the form in mind.

A music-loving punk girl who doesn't like to be made a fool, Kyoka is someone who will chew out someone who is doing something stupid but will also support her friends, come hell or high water.\\\

Her weapon is an axe that can be played like an electric guitar.

His Quirk, "Anivoice", allows him to speak with animals and request for their help.

His weapon is a sword-whip combination he can electrify with his Quirk.

Her Quirk, "Earphone Jack", turns her earlobes into extendable jacks that can transmit her heartbeat (which can be used as a weapon) or act as a sonar when piercing the ground.

Class 1-A's homeroom teacher, Aizawa is also an Underground Hero known as Eraserhead with years of experience fighting villains. While he's an all-around hardass that doesn't hesitate in pushing his students to keep working, he'll never hesitate to stand between them and danger, and works to make sure they will be able to survive their field of work.

His Quirk, "Eraser", allows him to block a person's Quirk (save for Metamorph effects) as long as he keeps his eyes open.

A gentle, intelligent girl that comes from a wealthy family, Momo Yaoyorozu joined the Hero Course as a way to make her own mark in the world.\\\

* ThePowerOfCreation: She has one of 1-A's most powerful Quirks, which combined with her incredible intelligence make her a terrifying adversary.

* PapaWolf: If his students are in danger, if he's not fighting next to them, it's because he's between them and danger.

Formerly Japan's Number One Hero, Toshinori Yagi currently works as a Heroics teacher at U.A., in order to share his vast experience with the newest generation of professional heroes. Afflicted from an injury he suffered six years before in a fight with his ArchEnemy, All for One, he still kept fighting crime until a second fight with All for One depleted his power and forced him to retire.

Currently Quirkless, he once held "One for All", of which he was the eighth holder. The power this Quirk stockpiled granted him an impressive array of powers, from SuperStrength to SuperSpeed, which he used to become Japan's greatest hero.

* TheMentor: He was this to Izuku during the training period before passing One for All to him, with limited success. He's nowadays acting as one for all of 1-A.

U.A.'s resident doctor, Recovery Girl is a no-nonsense elder woman that isn't afraid of hitting you with her syringe-shaped cane if she thinks you have done something stupid. Her Quirk, "Heal", lets her accelerate a person's healing process at the cost of their stamina by kissing them.

* GoodParents: He was the main caretaker of Ruby and Yang, who love him wholeheartedly and agree he's a great dad.
