A list of the battleships appearing in ''Pacific''. Compared to their IJN counterparts, most of the USN battleships with later hull numbers were more advanced by being constructed a bit before or during WWII - most of the Japanese battleships were laid down decades earlier and didn't had as good construction processes or good steel alloys. [[labelnote:Historical note]]Yamato and Musashi were the "youngest" battleships of the IJN fleet, while the ''Kongou''-class were the oldest. For a comparison, USS ''[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Wyoming_(BB-32) Wyoming]]'' and ''[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Arkansas_(BB-33) Arkansas]]'' of the ''Wyoming''-class were the oldest, with the ''Iowa''-class being the youngest.[[/labelnote]] That meant better armor, weaponry, better fire control, anti-air, more efficient engines, as well the advantage of radar with the radar rangefinder.

* ThemeNaming: In this case, each and every one of them is named after a US state.

The fourth of the Iowa sisters, and representing the last ''Iowa''-class battleship commissioned, USS ''[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Wisconsin_(BB-64) Wisconsin]]''. Depicted as a meek young woman with blonde hair wielding a saber.

* VaporWear: If one looks closely enough, it's clear that she's not wearing any panties 'or' a bra.

* NonStandardCharacterDesign: Looks quite different from her sisters for reasons that remain unknown as of this writing. Instead of the stereotypically Caucasian blonde hair and blue/purple eyes of her sisters, she has brown eyes and long straight black hair that resembles a HimeCut. Combined with the outfit, accessories and colour scheme, it looks like the art team was trying to play the Iowa vs Yamato "rivalry" to the hilt and make her out-Yamato Yamato, a design choice absent from the others.

** Also to Fusou. Both are depicted as RavenHairIvorySkin classical beauties of their respective nations, but Fusou is the unlucky grand old lady from World War I, whereas Iowa is the lucky newcomer commissioned DuringTheWar. Compared to the former, she looks more mature (and acts more mature), carries a similar albeit larger ParasolOfPrettiness which is blue as opposed to the former's red, and are the lead ships of their respective navies' largest and most powerful battleship class. And there's also the fact that they were more or less like hotels in comparison to the rest of their respective navies (''Iowa'' has a bathtub and elevator thanks to being the ship used to bring President UsefulNotes/FranklinDRoosevelt to Tehran, while Yamato was in fact often nicknamed "Hotel Yamato" thanks to her crew having better living conditions than on the other IJN ships.)

She's depicted as a young woman clad in a 1940s-era police outfit, complete with an M1928 Thompson SMG (aka "The Chicago Typewriter").

Named after the city of [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Des_Moines,_Iowa Des Moines, Iowa]], USS [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Des_Moines_(CA-134) Des Moines]] is the lead ship of one of the last all-gun type cruisers in the US Navy. Unlike most of the other ships featured in this fic, Des Moines is an immediate post-war design.

* NonstandardCharacterDesign: The only USN Heavy Cruiser not have have SailorFuku-esque clothes. Instead, she gets what resembles an aviator jacket, shorts, and stockings complete with boots.It probably helps that she's not a prewar "Treaty" Cruiser like the others.
