to:

* BigCreepyCrawlies
AdaptationalSpeciesChange: The Light Novel describes these creatures as humanoid ninjas with [[MultiArmedAndDangerous eight limbs]]. The anime does away with both the "humanoid" and the "ninja" side of things, making them look like regular {{Giant Spider}}s with an ant-like body shape and GlowingEyesOfDoom.
* BigCreepyCrawlies: Giant anthropods, at least in the anime version.
* GiantSpider: In the anime, though the light novel describes them as humanoid.
* {{Invisibility}}: They use this power to ambush intruders and kill them by surprise in a single attack.
** VisibleInvisibility: How they're depicted in the anime.
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: In the light novel, they are humanoid monsters with spider limbs capable of making eight attacks simultaneously.

Added DiffLines:

* AttackOfTheFiftyFootWhatever: They stand ten meters tall, enough to tower over the average building in a medieval setting.
* AwesomeButImpractical: In YGGDRASIL. In addition to the spell taking forever and a day to cast like other Super-tier spells, at high levels, it would have been quite difficult to find enough targets squishy enough to die from the initial damage and all packed together in one spot to summon any Dark Young at all. In the New World, however, its large area of effect and powerful summons make it [[ThisLooksLikeAJobForAquaman a great way to completely wipe out a large army of mooks in the flashiest way possible to drive in Ainz's superiority]]. As far as Ainz knows, nobody has ever been able to summon as many Dark Young in YGGDRASIL as he did in the New World.
* CombatTentacles: Their main means of offense, short of simply trampling enemies underfoot.
* EldritchAbomination: They look like black clusters of tentacles and gaping mouths on legs. Lore-wise, they are connected to Shub'niggurath, an eldritch entity referred to in the ''Literature/CthulhuMythos'' as "the dark goat in the woods with a thousand young". This explains their name, their incongruous bleating noises, and Ainz's nickname for them.
* IronicNickname: Nicknamed "adorable baby goats" by Ainz due to the above, despite being anything '''but''' adorable.
* LightningBruiser: Tough as nails, immensely strong, and - belying their ponderous, lumbering gait - fast enough to outrun warhorses at least.
* OneManArmy: Each of these things could destroy a kingdom in the New World on its own. [[ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill Ainz summoned five of them]].

* WeHaveReserves: Unlike the more powerful denizens of Nazarick (who need to be resurrected using a ritual that consumes resources), these skeletons automatically respawn after a short period. Because they are also strong enough to be a serious threat to just about everything in the New World, Ainz makes a point of using them as Nazarick's first line of defense to avoid any potential casualties among more powerful NPCs.

Guarders.
----
* CurbStompBattle: Green Leaf didn't stand much of a chance against a group of
Old GuarderGuarders.
* DemBones: Appropriately enough, a skeletal lich's lair is guarded by skeleton warriors.
* EliteMooks: While they are not particularly elite by Nazarick standards, they are significantly above regular skeletons in terms of strength, wear enchanted items and wield magical weapons. They seem to be Nazarick's first "serious" line of defense, as the basic skeletons are almost nonthreatening to most adventurers. Even a single Old Guarder, on the other hand, is a match for a Mythril-ranked adventurer, and Elder and Master Guarders are even stronger.
* ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin: Their primary purpose is to guard Nazarick, though Ainz has occasionally taken them outside of it.
* LawOfChromaticSuperiority: Elder Guarders are distinguished from Old Guarders by their silvery plate armor. Master Guarders, the strongest variant and likely the strongest "free" monster in Nazarick, wear golden armor and red capes.
* ShockAndAwe: At least one Old Guarder is known to wield a lightning-enchanted warhammer. It is unknown whether others may have different enchantments on their weapons.

Added DiffLines:

* LightningBruiser: While statistically serving as a StoneWall, they're this from the perspective of New Worlders. Level 25 offensive abilities in a world where 30 is considered legendary is more than enough for them to reduce nearly anything to a bloody smear from one attack, they can move with surprising speed considering their size, and are virtually indestructible even to the strongest of beings.
* StoneWall: By YGGDRASIL standards, their defense is comparable to a level 40 being while their offensive abilities are around 25. Keep in mind that this by YGGDRASIL standards.

Added DiffLines:

* EliteMook: These things are no pushovers. A single Death Knight can eliminate an army in one fell swoop, as observed with the Carne Village incident.

* TerrifyingRescuer: Justified. The first Death Knight created by Ainz was ordered to eliminate the Slane Theocracy knights. As it was ordered to kill those knights specially, it's very understandable for the surviving Carne villagers to be terrified of it. They somewhat got over it after they met Ainz.
