[[folder:In General]]
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/op_sun_pirates_symbol.png]]

A pirate crew formed by the Fish-men and Mermen slaves Fisher Tiger freed from Mariejois, as well as others inhabitants from Fish-Man Island swayed by Fisher Tiger's charisma, like the Arlong Pirates and the Macro Pirates. They are exceptionally dangerous as their nature as Fish-men and Mermen mean they can easily swim in the sea to ambush and flee. They also happen to have a signature sun brand designed to erase the Tenryubitoo marks of slavery.\\\

After Tiger died, the original crew broke off and Jimbei assumed leadership of the new Sun Pirates. During the timeskip, they sought protection under Big Mom's flag, but have renounced it after deciding to help out the Straw Hat Pirates against her forces. As of the end of the Whole Cake Island arc, Jimbei has left the crew to join the Straw Hat, leaving the leadership to Aladdin. The last time they were seen, they faced off Big Mom's fleet in a clearly desperate battle and their fate is unknown.
-----
* BreakingTheFellowship: Jimbei becoming a Warlord didn't sit well with Arlong, so he and his original Arlong Pirates left, and a third party split originating the Macro Pirates.
* DelayingAction: They fight [[spoiler: Big Mom's crew to give the Straw Hats a chance to escape.]]
* EmbarrassingTattoo: They had the Hoof of the Flying Dragon, the mark of slaves of the World Nobles. So that no one could distinguish those who were and weren't slaves, each member had themselves branded with their crew emblem
* FishPeople: All of the crewmembers are either Fish-men or [[OurMermaidsAreDifferent tritons.]]
* HeroicSacrifice: Twice in a row. They sacrifice [[spoiler: their ship, built by Fisher Tiger,]] to trick the Big Mom Pirates into thinking they've destroyed the ''Thousand Sunny''. [[spoiler: It only works for a few seconds, so they all fight the much more powerful Charlotte Family to allow the Straw Hats to escape.]]
* MadeASlave: Many of them used to be slaves of the Celestial Dragon who were freed by Fisher Tiger.
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: Hachi and a nameless octopus Fish-man seen near Jimbei.
* ThouShaltNotKill: On Tiger's orders, none of them were allowed to kill.
* TokenEvilTeammate: Arlong and his closest followers (Kuroobi and Choo) were this in the past. Macro and his pals were more like token jerkasses.
* TokenHuman: Koala, among a group of Fish-men, which Fisher Tiger try to use to motivate themselves not to kill humans and show their best for humanity.
* UndyingLoyalty: They say they'll follow Jimbei whatever choice he makes, even if it's to [[spoiler: buy the Straw Hats some time by fighting ''one of the Four Emperors' crews'', despite knowing they have no chance of victory.]]
* YouCantGoHomeAgain: Jimbei tried to avert this by becoming a Warlord of the Sea. The pardon he received from the World Government would allow the ex-slaves to return to Fish-Man Island. After he resigned, they had to leave, though.

!!Fisher Tiger "The Great Adventurer"
!!!'''Voiced by:''' Creator/KoujiIshii (JP), Creator/GabeKunda (EN)
!!!'''Age:''' 48
!!!'''Debut:''' Chapter 521 (Manga), Episode 415 (Anime)

[[quoteright:305:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fisher_tiger_anime.png]]

->''"There are plenty of compassionate humans in this world! I know that! It's foolish to die and leave only hatred as a legacy! I know that! But my reason is overpowered by the demon in my heart! My very flesh refuses their blood! '''I cannot love humans... ever!!'''"''
-->--'''Chapter 623'''

A legendary Fish-man and leader of the Sun Pirates. He was known for climbing the Red Line with his bare hands, wreaking havoc on Mariejois and freeing thousands of slaves, both human and Fish-man. He later took the Fish-men with him and formed the Sun Pirates, a crew composed of former slaves and new Fish-men alike. Along with Queen Otohime, he fought for stopping the racism between Fish-men and humans with his own "methods," but bled to death because he refused a transfusion of human blood. He was also revealed to be a Tai Snapper (a.k.a. Red Sea Bream) Fish-man.\\\

His first and only bounty was 230,000,000 berries. He still holds the record for the highest starting bounty revealed thus far.
-----
* AnimalMotifs: Given his name, his motif is the ''Tiger'', reflecting his rebellion against the celestial dragons.
* BadassBaritone: He's a big and strong Fish-man who climbed the Red Line and was the captain of an infamous pirate crew to fight the oppressive World Government, and had a very deep voice.
* BadassBeard: The guy razed a citadel by his lonesome and saved hundreds of slaves of all races, and has the badass facial hair to show for it.
* BadassInCharge: He earned his leadership of the Sun Pirates thanks to his incredible feats in attacking the Celestial Dragons in their home and freeing hundreds of slaves.
* ByronicHero: Like many Fish-men, he's prejudiced towards humans, but he shows some belief that there are good humans out there, and the audience gets treated to his thoughts a number of times.
* CycleOfRevenge: Defied. He's well aware of this trope, and despite his personal hatred towards humans, he made sure to treat humans and Fish-men the same (for example, freeing ''all'' slaves from Mariejois) so as not to continue it.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: During his adventures, Tiger was captured and enslaved by World Nobles at Mariejois. As a slave Tiger was abused, tortured and humiliated by his masters.
* DeathByIrony: A blood transfusion from a human could have saved him... but it was denied to him. Though it turns out, that's just the story his crew made up to keep his heroic image. He still qualifies though since, in truth, he hated humans too much to accept the one that was offered, even though he ''knew'' that there was no reason to.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Though he hates humans, in his rampage through the Holy Land he freed slaves of all races because he felt no one should have to suffer like that.
* FantasticRacism: He despises humans like most of his kind. Although ''unlike'' many of the Fish-man pirates who would follow him, he had a fairly nuanced view, and realized that the whole thing was ridiculous and that there ''were'' good humans out there like there were good Fish-men. He'd just been mistreated too much for that understanding to ever reach his heart.
* TheFarmerAndTheViper: He met his demise by ending up on the bad side of the trope, when Koala's parents sold his location out in exchange for the Marines not kidnapping Koala again.
* FatalFlaw: His IrrationalHatred against humans ultimately leads to his death. What makes it tragic is that he ''knows'' this, and tried to overcome it... but in the end, he couldn't.
* TheFettered: Unlike his subordinate Arlong, he's careful not to allow his anger at humans to overcome him because he knows it would damage his cause.
* {{Foil}}: To Queen Otohime. Both were Fish-men who wanted peace with humans, had a mutual respect for one another despite their difference in beliefs regarding humanity, and were assassinated. However, while AllLovingHero Otohime wanted co-existence with humans, ByronicHero Tiger thought it was best for humans and Fish-men to remain separate.
* IconicOutfit: He wears a bandanna, a sleeveless vest, a captain's coat and black pants as the Sun Pirates' captain.
* IrrationalHatred: As noted in KnightTemplar below. Though, unlike most examples, he's well aware that it's irrational and doesn't want to pass it down to future generations.
* KnightTemplar: Unlike Queen Otohime, he was much more extremist with his fight against Fish-men's oppression and believed that humans and Fish-men cannot live together. On his deathbed he admitted that he knew good humans do exist and that they are not so different from Fish-men but he never could overcome his irrational hatred, the latter of which he deeply regretted.
* LargeAndInCharge: He's even bigger than Arlong ''and'' Jimbei. AllThereInTheManual gives his height at 5.2 meters, making him taller than the likes of even Katakuri!
* MalcolmXerox: A rare Japanese example, as well as a rare three-dimensional example. He raises a pirate crew of former Fish-man slaves and espouses their races' superiority in response to humans (and specifically the Celestial Dragon's) discrimination against them. Ultimately, he is killed because his hatred of humans runs so deep that he refuses to accept treatment for a mortal injury because the only blood available for a transfusion is human blood. To really drive the point home, he is contrasted with the queen of Fish-Man Island, Otohime. While Fisher Tiger believes that the differences between humans and Fish-men are irreconcilable and they must live separately, Queen Otohime tried to encourage cooperation between the two races. Both ended up betrayed and killed for their trouble -- ironically, Fisher Tiger was betrayed by humans, while Otohime was assassinated by a Fish-man who wanted to stoke anti-human racism. Fittingly enough, Tiger's played by the African-American Creator/GabeKunda in the Funimation dub.
* MoralityChain: Was this to some members of the Sun pirates, especially Arlong.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: "Tiger". And yup, he's a badass adventurer.
* NobleDemon: He [[FantasticRacism hated humans]], but during his rampage in Mariejois he still freed all the slaves, both humans and Fish-men. He also refused to kill the humans that come after him, since he realizes that it would only prolong the cycle of hatred.
* NotSoDifferent: He privately notes to Jimbei that to a peaceful person like Otohime, there isn't much difference between him and Arlong.
* OneManArmy: With his bare hands, Fisher Tiger scaled the multi-kilometre high sheer wall of the Red Line, and then he singlehandedly laid waste to the holy city of Mariejois, freeing thousands of slaves. Keep in mind, simply ''walking in the path'' of a Celestial Dragon is already considered blasphemous, and this guy dared to directly attack all of them at once in their homeland.
* PunnyName: The Sea Bream is called "Tai" in Japanese.
* ScarsAreForever: {{Defied|Trope}}. Tiger rebrands all the slaves he set free with a new symbol, thus forming the Sun Pirates. He then also marked every other member of his crew with the exact same brand, making it impossible to tell which of his crewmen had once been slaves.
* SwordAndGun: In a flashback, he was shown holding a cutlass and a pistol (along with two other swords and a bazooka) during his assault on Mariejois.
* TigerVersusDragon:
** He's the "Tiger" who opposed the "Celestial Dragons".
** If you assume that Otohime is the "dragon" to Fisher Tiger's... "tiger". She's the queen of Ryuugu Kingdom, aka "Dragon Palace Kingdom", as it took inspiration from the tale of Urashima Taro. They did not oppose each other, however, and held a mutual respect even as they disagreed on foreign policy.
* ThouShaltNotKill: Enforced this policy on his crew toward humans; they would beat them up, steal food and supplies, and even sink their ships, but killing was a no-no. He believed that doing so would provoke humans to lash out at other innocent Fish-men, who would then retaliate on innocent humans, perpetuating a CycleOfRevenge.
* TragicBigot: Suffered so much abuse at the hands of humans that even though he ''knew'' intellectually that he shouldn't hold them as a species responsible for his torment, he simply "[couldn't] love the humans anymore". This ultimately led to his death.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: For ''Anime/OnePieceFilmGold''. One of the slaves he freed during his attack on Mariejois was Gild Tesoro who would go on to create the Gran Tesoro, essentially one man's private Mariejois.
* WouldHurtAChild: A rare, sympathetic example. Fisher branded a young Koala with his crew's sun mark not out of malice but to show that she wasn't a slave anymore.
* YourSizeMayVary: While portrayed as big, he certainly doesn't look like he's twice his crewmates' size.

One of the Mermen slaves Fisher Tiger freed from Mariejois. He is the ship's doctor and first mate of the Sun Pirates, under Jimbei. Currently married to Charlotte Praline, one of Big Mom's daughters, which allowed the Sun Pirates to become subordinate to the Emperor.
-----
* BadassBeard: Sports a long and impressive one to go with his genie-like appearance.
* CombatMedic: Despite being a doctor, he fights on the frontlines like pretty much everybody else in his crew.
* HappilyMarried: To Charlotte Praline, who loves him very much.
* LightningBruiser: He's a fast swimmer and strong enough that his punches, when they clash, cause ripple waves.
* NumberTwo: His role as Jimbei's first mate.
* ProngsOfPoseidon: His weapon. Possibly a remnant of his days as a soldier in the Neptune Army.
* ShoutOutThemeNaming: [[Literature/{{Aladdin}} Just guess]]. He deliberately looks like a genie for a reason.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Either Aladine or straight up Aladdin.
* TinyGuyHugeGirl: Aladdin is not tiny by any means, but Praline, his wife, is more than twice his size.

!!"Large Monk" Wadatsumi
!!!'''Voiced by:''' Creator/KoukiMiyata (JP), Creator/TrinaNishimura (EN)
!!!'''Debut:''' Chapter 606 (Manga), Episode 525 (Anime)

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wadatsumi_anime.png]]

A tiger blowfish Fish-man of gigantic proportions. He has a very childish personality and is naive and gullible, as shown when Zeo deceives him. Despite being (initially) a member of the nasty Flying Pirates, he's kind and gentle, as he feels really sorry when, with his clumsiness, he accidentally destroys two towns. Due to his enormous size, he's very strong, and can inflate himself to become even bigger.\\\

In his debut, he's a member of the Flying Pirates, led by Vander Decken IX. After being betrayed by his captain, he loses the will to fight, until Zeo convinces him to fight and take an energy steroid. After defeating Surume, he's taken down by Sanji and Jimbei, and exiled from Fish-Man Island.\\\

In Jimbei's mini-adventures, the former Warlord meets Wadatsumi and helps him apologize to the inhabitants of the towns he destroyed.\\\

During Whole Cake Island's arc, he's seen as a member of the Sun Pirates.
----
* AttackOfThe50FootWhatever: 50 foot is an understatement with this guy. He's so large he can hold the ''Thousand Sunny'' in the palm of his hand. And he, just like a blowfish, can grow to become even bigger.
* BigDamnHeroes: [[spoiler: Saves the ''Thousand Sunny'' from certain destruction by replacing it with the Sun Pirates' ship.]]
* CarpetOfVirility: His chest and belly are really hairy.
* ClippedWingAngel: When inflated he's much larger and more destructive, but he cannot speak or the air will leak. As a result, his hands are busy with keeping his mouth closed while Sanji and Jimbei easily deal with him.
* CurbStompBattle: Despite his becoming much stronger with the energy steroid, Sanji and Jimbei have an easy time with him.
* DoesNotLikeShoes: Either that, or there simply aren't ship-sized shoes for him.
* TheExile: By the end of the Fish-Man Island arc, Wadatsumi goes into exile for understandably causing pain and suffering among the island's citizens.
* FishPeople: He's a large tiger blowfish Fish-man.
* {{Gonk}}: With his small eyes, large lips and flat nose, he's really silly-looking.
* GoodIsDumb: He's a kind-hearted individual but also easy to trick.
* HairAntennae: His hair forms a single antenna on the top of his head.
* HeelFaceTurn: Starts as a member of the Flying Pirates and later becomes an ally of the Straw Hats.
* InflatingBodyGag: Faithful to his Fish-man type, he can inflate himself, becoming round and even larger.
* KillItWithFire: He's ultimately defeated by Sanji's "Hell Memories", which set the Fish-man on fire. [[spoiler: He's also affected by the boiling sea water caused by Charlotte Oven.]]
* ManChild: Despite his size, he has a really childish personality.
* MotorMouth: When inflated, he talks fast to prevent air leaking.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: He's ''really'' sorry to have accidentally destroyed two towns. Jimbei helps him making amends to the inhabitants.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: After eating an energy steroid, he's enraged and his eyes turn red.
* SignificantBirthDate: His birthday is February 9th, Pufferfish day, reflecting his Fish-man type.
* SuperStrength: Given his size, it's not surprising he's strong enough to destroy entire cities.
* TeethFlying: Loses a tooth after Luffy punches him with a ''jet pistol''.
* VillainousBSOD: While not a straight-up villain, when Vander Decken IX betrays him, he begins to cry and loses the will to fight.
* VocalDissonance: Appearance-wise, his voice doesn't sound like that of a gigantic Fish-man, but fits his childish personality.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: He doesn't wear any shirt (given his size, it's already a miracle he has somehow found a pair of pants that fit him), but, considering his cartoonish body proportions, it borders with FanDisservice.
* TheWorfEffect: He's defeated by Surume, but, after eating an energy steroid, he quickly defeats the kraken to show how much stronger he has become.
* {{Yokai}}: He is mistakenly referred to as an [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umib%C5%8Dzu Umibōzu]] by Usopp.

[[folder:Charlotte Praline]]
!!Charlotte Praline
!!!'''Voiced by:''' Yuko Tachibana
!!!'''Age:''' 29
!!!'''Debut:''' Chapter 830 (Manga), Episode 790 (Anime)

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/charlotte_praline_anime.png]]

->''"My oh my, shouldn't you boys be a bit more worried about lil' ol' me? Shashasha!"''

The 21st daughter of the Charlotte Family, a human-hammerhead shark mermaid hybrid and the youngest in a set of twins, her older sister being Prim. Praline serves as Totto Land's Minister of Design, and was arranged to marry Aladdin, the first mate of the Sun Pirates, to seal an alliance between them and the Big Mom Pirates.
----
* AbsoluteCleavage: Praline wears an open, frilled, rose-themed jacket and nothing else underneath.
* ActOfTrueLove: She fully intends to follow her husband Aladdin of the Sun Pirates when he decides to break away from Big Mom's crew, despite knowing that no one survived doing that. [[spoiler:Eventually, she makes good on her intentions in Chapter 860 as she and the Sun Pirates are seen preparing to leave Totto Land, after tying Pekoms to a rock to prevent him from squealing to Big Mom.]]
* AnimeHair: Praline's hair is tied into a bun where most of it extend outwards horizontally like a hammerhead shark's head.
* ArrangedMarriage: Married Aladdin so Big Mom could seal an alliance with the Sun Pirates. [[HappilyMarried There hasn't been any problems so far]].
* AristocratsAreEvil: [[AvertedTrope Nope]]. Despite being a daughter of Big Mom, she's a loving wife (if a little possessive) and a nice lady overall. [[spoiler:She even sides with her husband's crew over her own mother out of love, despite knowing the dire consequences of leaving, and helps the Straw Hats escape her pursuing siblings by singing to the sea slugs that were scouting the ocean]].
* AstonishinglyAppropriateAppearance: Praline's bun, the pattern of her lower shark body, and her frilled clothes make her reminiscent of a noble Frenchwoman, considering exactly who she descends from...
* BearHug: She does this to her husband, who's small compared to her.
* BeautyEqualsGoodness: She's a lovely half-hammerhead shark mermaid who is devoted to her husband [[spoiler:and has no loyalties to her own family, especially Big Mom. She even helps the Straw Hats escape Big Mom's children who's tracking them down by singing to the scout sea slugs in the ocean and distracting them from capturing the ''Thousand Sunny'']].
* BigLittleSister: At 800 centimeters, Praline is the tallest among Big Mom's children, including her older siblings.
* ClingyJealousGirl: She is enraged at the thought of her husband Aladdin of the Sun Pirates leaving her alone when he decides to leave Big Mom's crew. Then she subverts it by declaring that she'll follow him and his crew over Big Mom any day [[spoiler:which she eventually does follow through on]].
* CompellingVoice: [[spoiler:Her song hypnotized the scout sea slugs into abandoning their posts]].
* DefectorFromDecadence: While she has a lot of privileges by virtue of being a daughter of a queen and Emperor, [[spoiler:she chooses to leave them behind in Chapter 860, departing Totto Land with her husband Aladdin and the Sun Pirates despite knowing the consequences of doing so. By Chapter 884, she and the Sun Pirates cement themselves as allies by musically distracting the scouting sea slugs from capturing the Straw Hats]].
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: In her debut episode, she scolds Aladdin on the assumption that he's abandoning her after eavesdropping on the Sun Pirates' plan to leave their alliance with Big Mom. At first, it appears she wants Aladdin and his crew to stay... but then she reveals that she'd happily choose her husband over her own mother and gives Aladdin a big hug, [[SickeninglySweethearts which embarrasses the Sun Pirates]]. This shows how devoted she is to those she genuinely loves, [[spoiler:which eventually proves true when she teams up with the Sun Pirates to help the Straw Hats escape Totto Land, fully cementing her betrayal of the Charlotte Family]].
* ExactEavesDropping: She was listening in when the Sun Pirates were talking about leaving their alliance with Big Mom, which makes her assume her husband, Aladdin, was going to leave her behind as well. [[MassOhCrap This gets everyone scared]]... but then Praline reveals that she loves Aladdin too much to stay loyal to her mother, and wants to leave as well [[spoiler:which she eventually does in Chapter 860]].
* {{Expy}}: [[spoiler:Her being a (half-shark) mermaid who sings to the sea slug scouts to distract them (with Aladdin and the Sun Pirates accompanying her with musical instruments) has shades of ''Franchise/TheLittleMermaid'']].
* FlowerMotifs: Pink roses adorn her jacket, and roses represent love. She is very loving to her husband, Aladdin [[spoiler:to the point of deciding to leave with the Sun Pirates when they choose to leave their alliance with Big Mom]].
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: Episode 790 reveals her hair to be a dark blonde color. While she's one of Big Mom's daughters, she doesn't share her mother's traits at all. [[spoiler:She sides with the Sun Pirates because her husband is one of them and ditches her biological family the first chance she gets, and later on she helps the Straw Hats escape detection by singing to the sea slug scouts in the ocean]].
* HalfHumanHybrid: She's a half-hammerhead shark mermaid thanks to the gigantic human Big Mom marrying a hammerhead shark Merman.
* HappilyMarried: She loves Aladdin to the point where she feels more loyal to him and his crew than her own mother, Big Mom. [[spoiler:She decides to make good on her intentions to leave Totto Land with them, despite knowing the consequences]].
* HumanMomNonhumanDad: Her mother is a gigantic, terrifying {{Gonk}} of a human. Meanwhile, her father seems to be a hammerhead shark Merman.
* IdenticalTwinIDTag: She was revealed in the [[AllThereInTheManual One Piece Vol. 4 magazine]] to be the younger twin sister of Charlotte Prim, another human-Merman hybrid. It's averted as they're fraternal twins -- Praline is a hammerhead shark mermaid whose hair tied into a bun that resembles the appendages of the aforementioned animal; Prim is an octopus mermaid whose bundled hair resembles an octopus, with most of her hair tied up into a cylindrical shape with the rest hanging down in eight strands, like tentacles.
* LikeMotherUnlikeDaughter: Unlike Big Mom, she is a beautiful, loving wife who's devoted to her husband ([[ClingyJealousGirl perhaps a little more so]]) and is quite friendly.
* MafiaPrincess: Was this by virtue of being one of Big Mom's children, hence her ArrangedMarriage with Aladdin. [[spoiler:She even leaves her birth family behind when the Sun Pirates decide to leave Big Mom's territory in Chapter 860]].
* MayDecemberRomance: Her age is at 29 years, while her husband, Aladdin, is two decades older than her at 46 years. Despite this, they are HappilyMarried.
* MeaningfulName: Praline is named after a confection that contains nuts and sugar; while she's ultimately a good person, she can be a little nutty (pun intended) and [[ClingyJealousGirl possessive]] when it comes to her husband [[spoiler:Aladdin of the Sun Pirates]] (though she's more loyal to him than her mother Big Mom). Alternatively, her name takes after the "Pralinières", young women who were also called "casket girls" due to them carrying all their belongings in small jewelry boxes. These women were also candy-makers who were taught lessons that would allow them to marry higher than their station. Praline herself, despite her mother being a pirate, is of high birth due to Big Mom's "Emperor" status and global affluence.
* {{Retcon}}: When Praline was first introduced in Chapter 830, it was mentioned that she's Big Mom's 29th daughter. It was changed to being the 21st in Volume 87 when Volume 86 mentions that Joscarpone is the 29th daughter.
* ScaryTeeth: She has shark teeth due to being a hammerhead shark mermaid, but it's subverted as it doesn't detract from her beauty, and she's a good person despite being one of Big Mom's daughters.
* SickeninglySweethearts: With her husband, Aladdin; when she embraced him and declared that she'll follow him to the ends of the earth, the other Fish-men were seen blushing heavily and covering their faces in embarrassment.
* SignatureLaugh: "Shashasha".
* SmallRoleBigImpact: She hasn't appeared in enough pages to constitute a single chapter, but [[spoiler:she plays a pivotal role is helping the various enemies of Big Mom escape by removing the sea slug scouts.]]
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: She's the only female member of the Sun Pirates.
* StatuesqueStunner: At 26'3", she's technically the tallest child of Big Mom though that's largely due to having a long, mermaid body. In any case, she's a very large, yet physically attractive mermaid that dwarfs her husband and most of the members of his pirate crew.
* ThreateningShark: Subverted; despite being a (half) hammerhead shark mermaid, she's actually quite lovely. She even helps the Sun Pirates tend to Pekoms' injuries [[spoiler:after he is shot over the edge of a cliff by Capone Bege]] and helps the Straw Hats escape Whole Cake Island [[spoiler:by singing to the sea slugs that scout for Big Mom in the ocean]].
* TinyGuyHugeGirl: She dwarfs in size her husband, Aladdin, despite him being already pretty big.
* TokenGoodTeammate: She at least suggested that she'll follow her husband more than her own mom anytime. [[spoiler:That eventually comes true, with her supporting Aladdin and the Sun Pirates' decision of betraying Big Mom. She later cements herself as a trusted ally of the Straw Hats by distracting the sea slugs from detecting their escape with her singing]].
* TrueBlueFemininity: Aside of her shark-like teeth, she's very feminine and her clothes have a blue color scheme, as she wears a blue jacket and blue frills.
* TheUglyGuysHotDaughter: ScaryTeeth aside, Praline's quite attractive-looking. The same could not be said about her [[{{Gonk}} mother]].
* WhiteSheep: To the audience, she looks like one due to her nice (if slightly clingy) personality [[spoiler:and the fact that her loyalties lie with her husband, Aladdin, and the Sun Pirates, rather than her own mother, Big Mom]].
* YouthfulFreckles: Praline has lots of facial freckles, and looks quite lovely compared to [[{{Gonk}} her mother]].

!!Buggy Pirates

[[folder:In General]]
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Bagy_7151.jpg]]

The crew of the (in)famous pirate Buggy the Clown, a Circus themed gang of low-level pirates. The most notable members are Mohji the Tamer & the First Mate, Cabaji the Acrobat & Second Mate, and Richie, a huge lion who serves as Moji's pet. Later, Alvida joins the crew. Although powerful, for an East Blue crew, they are in reality nowhere near as strong as they are feared.\\\

After the Marineford War and Buggy's evasion from Impel then ascension to the rank of Warlord, the crew now hosts several powerful criminals from Impel Down who were freed by Buggy. Furthermore, they now operate a successful underworld mercenary business known as Buggy Delivery.
-----
* AerithAndBob: In the crew there are uncommon names like Cabaji and Galdino and common ones like Richie and Buggy.
* AffablyEvil: They're all a bunch of happy-go-lucky pirates... [[FauxAffablyEvil as long as you're their friend.]]
* AsskickingEqualsAuthority: When Buggy goes missing, Mohji and Cabaji fight to decide who will be the new captain. [[AchievementInIgnorance Richie defeats both while sleepwalking]] and becomes the captain for a short while.
* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: Notable as the only pirate crew that ''doesn't'' follow this. Following the Whitebeard Arc, Buggy, Mohji, Cabaji, and Alvida remain in charge, despite the fact that ''all'' of their new members completely outclass them.
* CircusOfFear: Following Buggy's clown motif, many of the crewmembers are based off typical circus folk.
* HiredGuns: The Pirate Dispatch Organization consists mainly in mercenaries.
* KnifeNut: Many crew members use daggers, like their boss.
* LethalJokeCharacter: Due to Buggy's screwy style, their love for partying and having a good time and the crew's overall circus theme, they sure don't look as threatening as other more serious crews. Despite this, Buggy and his crew are still strong enough to have made it to a high-ranking position and Buggy himself is now one of the Seven Warlords.
* QuirkyMinibossSquad: While they're much tougher and competent than the usual for this trope, their antics and their goofy attitude still make them an example.
* TerribleTrio:
** A threesome of low level pirates called the Tightrope Walking Funan Bros who had the bad luck of [[MuggingTheMonster stumbling into Zoro]].
** And another one, the Superhuman Domingos, who were effortlessly taken care of by Luffy.
* TookALevelInBadass: The crew now has many powerful pirates from Impel Down among its ranks.

Buggy's [[NumberTwo first mate]]. He's a self-declared [[TheBeastMaster pet tamer]] and has a giant lion called Richie. He generally doesn't fight much himself and lets Richie do the job.\\\

In the Orange Village arc, he and Richie fight Luffy, but are quickly defeated. During Buggy's disappearance, he challenges Cabaji for the title of captain, but both are accidentally defeated by Richie.
----
* AnimeHair: His hair goes from resembling the head of a teddy bear, complete with ear, to a rabbit-like model, a lion mane model and, in his last appearance, a ram model.
* BareYourMidriff: A rare male example. He wears a white fur shirt that leaves his belly exposed. Averted with his post-timeskip outfit.
* TheBeastmaster: He claims that he can tame any animal or beast, but his only attempt with [=ChouChou=] is an EpicFail.
* BearerOfBadNews: While Buggy celebrate the positive effects [[spoiler: Doflamingo's defeat]] has on his business, Mohji breaks the mood, telling him their giant mercenaries have left.
* BigEater: Post timeskip he's always seen eating, and it seems he's gotten fat because of it.
* BigOlEyeBrows: He's got some thick eyebrows.
* CoDragons: Despite being referred to as Buggy's first mate, he shares equal authority with Cabaji. When their captain is temporarily missing, Mohji and Cabaji to decide who's the new captain. After Marineford, the strongest part is no longer true but are still among the closest ones.
* FormerlyFit: In the first half of the story, he's lean and even slightly tall. After the timeskip, he's gotten quite fat.
* KickTheDog: Not exactly kick, but burning down the shop of the dog's beloved and deceased owner is definitely something only an evil pirate would do.
* MoralityPet: Richie is literally this to Mohji. While he's not completely evil, he cares a lot for his lion and gets mad at Cabaji after he uses Richie as a shield.
* NonActionGuy: He's never seen fighting personally, and instead relies on Richie doing the job.
* WhipItGood: To fit the standard beast tamer model, he wields a whip.

In the Orange Village arc, he fights Zoro and, despite playing dirty, he's ultimately defeated. During Buggy's disappearance, he fights Mohji for the title of captain but Richie beats them both.
----

* CoDragons: He and Mohji are Buggy's strongest and closest crewmates. After Marineford, the strongest part is no longer true but are still among the closest ones.
* CombatPragmatist: He's not above using tricks and kicking the wound of the enemy in a fight.
* DualWielding: Among the many weapons he has, his favorites are two swords.
* FragileSpeedster: Cabaji is really fast on his unicycle, but gets owned in three strikes by Zoro.
* HumanShield: He doesn't use a human, but Richie, Mohji's lion and his own ally, to protect himself from a cannonball. Mohji is not amused.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: To fit his acrobat's theme, Cabaji's weaponry includes dust, spinning tops and flames shot out of his mouth.
* NiceHat: After the timeskip he has acquired a white top hat.
* NoShirtLongJacket: Keeps his coat open open, leaving his chest exposed.
* PeekABangs: His hair covers the left side of his face.

Mohji's giant lion. Despite his intimidating appearance, he acts more like a kitten and tends to think about food most of the time. He's also a bit of a coward, but that's because he's aware of the enemies who are stronger than him.

In his first appearance, he attacks a caged Luffy by Mohji's order but, once Straw Hat is freed, he's quickly defeated.
During Buggy's disappearance, he becomes temporarily the new captain, but he and the crew are quickly captured by a cannibal tribe until Buggy comes and saves them.
----
* AchievementInIgnorance: Mohji and Cabaji fight to decide who becomes the new captain and Richie wins by knocking them both out while asleep.
* AdaptationDyeJob: His mane is red in the manga while in the anime it's purple.
* BigEater: He is constantly hungry and often thinks about food. After the time-skip, he has become a bit fat, just like his master.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: In his debut, he acts like a ferocious giant lion. In his later appearances he seems smarter than the average lion (though still not very clever) and makes human gestures.
* CowardlyLion: Literally. He's a huge and ferocious lion but he's also a coward whenever he perceives danger. To be fair, he simply knows how weak he is compared to the Grand Line threats.
* CurbStompBattle: Once Luffy gets out of the cage, he grabs Richie, twists his own arms and slams the lion to the ground spinning him for extra damage, knocking him out.
* FormerlyFit: He seems to have gained some weight during the time-skip, not unlike his tamer.
* FunnyAnimal: Especially in his later appearances, where he acts almost like a human barring the lack of speech. In his previous appearance, he's a large ferocious animal.
* GeneralFailure: His career as captain of the Buggy Pirates is really short, as they are quickly captured by the Kumate Tribe, until Buggy and Alvida save them.
* NonVerbalMiscommunication: Being a lion, he talks with gestures, more often than not asking for food, but the other misinterpret it as if he's been moved by a sad moment.
* PantheraAwesome: He's a giant lion, big enough to carry his master on his back, [[YourSizeMayVary at least at the beginning]].
* TheSpeechless: He's a lion, therefore he can't talk. He tries to communicate with gestures but the crew often misunderstands the message.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: An animal variety. He's a lion with a red mane (purple in the anime), but the rest of his fur is normal colored.
* YourSizeMayVary: In his first appearance, Richie is the size of an elephant. Since then he has become only slightly bigger than his master Mohji.

[[caption-width-right:295:[[labelnote:Click here to see her before eating the Slip-Slip Fruit]] https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alvida_fat.png[[/labelnote]]]]

->''"Who's the most beautiful woman in the world?"''

The lady pirate Alvida is the first enemy that Luffy faces in his travels. A grotesquely obese woman, she thinks of herself as the most beautiful woman on the seas (Oda stated that the one thing missing on her ship was a mirror), and would beat those who annoy her with an iron mace. Luffy incurs her wrath by calling her an old hag, but it only takes him one punch to lay her flat.\\\

Sometime after her encounter with Luffy, she obtained and ate the Slip-Slip Fruit (''Sube Sube no Mi''), which transformed her from her short, fat, unsightly self into a tall, slim, and sultry woman. When people say that she's the most beautiful woman on the seas, now they really mean it. Currently she is co-captain of the Buggy Pirates.\\\

She has a bounty of 5,000,000 Berries; however, as a Warlord's associate, her bounty is currently null. She holds one record for her bounty: Lowest non-active, yet non-Warlord bounty.
-----
* AffablyEvil: After her Devil Fruit transformation. She has now generally lost the mean-tempered, petty streak she was known for. She tries to strike a friendly conversation with Luffy and often serves as the voice of reason in her crew. Of course, she's still a pirate and will still use her iron mace on anyone who stands in her way.
* BadBoss: She is some kind of perfectionist who wants everything around her to be clean and beautiful and she punishes severely henchmen who slack off. [[BeautyEqualsGoodness Interestingly enough, she mellows a lot after she becomes a beauty herself]].
* BadassLongCoat: Manages to pull this off against all odds at the start of the Impel Down arc.
* BareYourMidriff: Post-Devil Fruit, she wears a bikini top and white pants that exposes her shapely belly.
* BerserkButton: Don't call her ugly. Doesn't matter if she's fat or fit -- she'll whip out her iron mace and swing to kill.
* BookEnds: In the anime, the East Blue Saga begins and ends with her.
* CarryABigStick: She uses a large iron mace as her weapon, and can still swing it effortlessly after gaining her new slim body.
* CoolShip: The Miss Love Duck, formerly -- getting knocked into the sky caused her crew to basically turn tail on her and run off with her ship. She now uses a much smaller heart-shaped boat not much bigger than Mihawk's Coffin Boat, that only sits a few people.
* DoesNotLikeShoes: Played with; she needs bare feet to skate around on her slippery skin, which prompts her to take off her shoes.
* EvenTheGirlsWantHer: When she first reveals her new self in Loguetown, more than a few women are smitten along with the men.
* FatBastard: At first, but eventually loses the former part.
* FormerlyFat: After eating the Slip Slip Fruit she loses all the excess weight. She thinks, however, to have just lost her freckles.
* {{Gonk}}: Before eating the Slip-Slip Fruit, she's short, fat, and ugly. Luffy understandably can't recognize her after her transformation.
* HeadTurningBeauty: Post-Devil Fruit, of course. Upon her arrival in Loguetown many men in the city are allured by her beauty.
* IRejectYourReality: Regarding her obesity, she will deny ever being so. Alvida didn't have a mirror on her first ship for a reason. Even after she eats her Devil Fruit, she says all she lost are her freckles.
* LightningBruiser: Post-Devil Fruit. She can slide freely on the ground to move fast, and she's every bit as strong as before. Not to mention that attacks directed at her slips away easily.
* MsFanservice: Post-Devil Fruit, she's lost all of those fat and becomes much slimmer and more beautiful. [[http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20111215171701/onepiece/pl/images/9/9d/Post-War_Alvida.jpg Behold!]]
* MusclesAreMeaningless: Initially is [[StoutStrength fat but strong as well]], enough to cave a guy's face in her ship with her large mace. Upon getting her new lean body, she can swing her mace just as effortlessly.
* NamedAfterSomebodyFamous: She is based off of [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Awilda Awilda]], a legendary female pirate who pretended to be a man in order to become a sailor and who became the leader of a pirate crew and later became queen of Denmark. It is unlikely Awilda existed.
* NiceHat: One of the hints of her old appearance after her transformation is her plume-adorned cowboy hat.
* NighInvulnerable: Of a different sort than a Logia. Her Devil Fruit made her skin "slippery smooth", effectively giving most of her body zero friction and resulting in attacks and projectiles simply sliding off harmlessly.
* OnlySaneWoman: The carnival nature of the Buggy Pirates annoys her quite a bit. Ironically, she used to be the one crazy person among a crew of only sane men, who lost it anytime she had the slightest inclination someone insulted her looks. When she became slim, she lost her BerserkButton -- or at least the reason for anyone to ever push it.
* ProudBeauty: Once she becomes slim, she knows she really is a thing of beauty and uses it to draw a lot of attention. Though to be clear, she has always seen herself as a thing of beauty to the point that she claims the Slip Slip fruit has caused her the loss of her freckles, basically, she has simply gained the "beauty" part of the trope.
* SignificantBirthDate: Her birthday is March 14th, which is ''beauty day''. At the beginning, it's an ironic one, because she's anything but a beauty. Since her Devil Fruit causes her to lose her fat and freckles, she has become beautiful enough to attract [[DudeMagnet every men who sees her]], making it meaningful.
* StalkerWithACrush: She joins Buggy in order to find Luffy in order to "make him her man". Since he's the first person to ever hit her, this may have some sadomasochistic undertones...
* StarterVillain: Her initial appearance is in the very first episode of the anime, and the second chapter of the manga, immediately following the story of Luffy meeting Shanks, meaning she's the first enemy Luffy faces since the start of his journey (not counting the Lord of the Coast, that is a sea monster). Naturally, she's also one of the easiest enemies. She becomes much stronger after eating the Slip Slip fruit.
* StatuesqueStunner: She's become quite the looker post-transformation and has always been very tall, standing at around 6'6" (or 198 cm) [[AllintheManual according to the Vivre Card -- One Piece Visual Dictionary]].
* StoutStrength: Pre-Devil Fruit, she's pretty fat and strong enough to lift her big mace.
* TookALevelInBadass: She goes from being a one-shot StarterVillain to a fairly competent threat who, lest we forget, now has Devil Fruit abilities that make her far more durable than she appears and gives her a good degree of immunity against hand-to-hand users.
* TookALevelInKindness: When we first meet her, she's a thorough foul individual to match her physical ugliness, brutally beating her crew for the slightest perceived transgression. After she ate her Devil Fruit, not only did she become much more beautiful, but she also mellowed considerably, to the point of being a FriendlyEnemy to people like Luffy.
* VillainousRescue: Along with Buggy, she saves the Buggy Pirates from the Kumate Tribe.
* VillainTeamUp: Saves Buggy and tags along with him after that.
* WhatKindOfLamePowerIsHeartAnyway: She eats the Slip-Slip Fruit, which makes her body slippery. So far, the only uses her powers have shown is causing shrapnel to slip off of her, turning her from a {{Gonk}} to MsFanservice, and letting her slide across the ground while barefoot. However, this is useless against Smoker's Plume-Plume Fruit powers, and she can't slip out of seastone nets.
* WithGreatPowerComesGreatHotness: Before she ate her Devil Fruit, she was originally a FatBitch who forces men to tell her she's beautiful. After she eats it, she gains an ImpossibleHourglassFigure and a pretty face.
* WorldsMostBeautifulWoman: She claims herself this even when she's a fat and grotuesque woman. Post-Devil Fruit, however, she can at least back up that claim, with men and women falling for her at first sight, but is not a contender for ''the'' most beautiful.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: Pre-transformation, she looks middle-aged despite being in her twenties. Post-transformation, she fits her actual age of 25 in Part 1 to 27 in Part 2, [[AllintheManual according to the Vivre Card -- One Piece Visual Dictionary anyway]].

--->'''Chapter 571'''

One of the officer agents of Baroque Works. He is regarded as the smartest of the officers and only got the position of "Mr. 3" because of that. He has eaten the Wax-Wax Fruit (''Doru Doru no Mi'') which allows him to create and control candle wax at will.\\\

He faces the Straw Hats at Little Garden and gets defeated, after which he then travels to Alabasta to try and tell Mr. 0 about them, but gets fed to a giant bananadile. Thankfully, he turns out to be still alive and helps the captured Straw Hats and Smoker escape creating a wax key.\\\

After the events at Alabasta, he is sent to Impel Down, where he befriends Buggy and assists in a break out, then heads with Luffy to Marineford and finally joins Buggy's crew.\\\

He has a bounty of 24,000,000 Berries.
----
* ArcVillain: Of the Little Garden arc. He's not the only villain in said arc, but he's the main threat and the one who's in charge, while Mr.5, Miss Valentine and Miss Goldenweek acts more as his subordinates.
* {{BFS}}: He's able to make a giant sword made of wax, and uses one to pin Brogy's hand in place.
* ButtMonkey: Fate just loves to crap all over him, as he's not taken very seriously outside of the Little Garden arc (And to an extent, even in that arc). It improves a bit in Marineford, though.
* DemotedToExtra: The 4kids dub cut out the whole Little Garden Saga. As such, he appears out of nowhere during the Alabasta arc as a random, clueless fool who can only tell bad jokes before getting punished by Crocodile.
* DirtyCoward: He runs at the first sign of real danger, [[CowardlyLion despite his powers]].
* DubPersonalityChange: As a result of removing the Little Garden arc and rewriting his scene at Rain Dinners, the 4Kids dub turns him into a terrible comedian.
* ElementalRockPaperScissors: A rare and very interesting example; his wax is highly resistant to Magellan's poison. It took the jailer's strongest poison to melt through it.
* EnemyMine: With Luffy during the breakout of Impel Down, and proves to be a [[IncrediblyLamePun key]] player in freeing Ace.
* EvilGenius: He's got his high position among Officer Agents because of his intellect.
* ExpressiveHair: During one scene in the anime, his hair forms a question mark when he asks a question, then shifts to an exclamation point when he figures out the answer.
* FireForgedFriends: The events of escaping Impel Down and Marineford seem to have secured this with Buggy.
* FlamingHair: Only when he wills it, thanks to his Devil Fruit power. It bites him in the ass in Little Garden when Luffy uses it to burn a rope Usopp and Karoo has set up, setting his entire wax sculpture ablaze and his plan crashing into a [[{{Pun}} fiery mess]].
* FourEyesZeroSoul: He wears glasses and he's a genius prick.
* HeartIsAnAwesomePower: Turns out wax is really useful. It can become as hard as steel, block lethal acid, and create master keys immune to Seastone. The last bit makes Galdino an invaluable player in the war to save Ace's life.
* HeelFaceTurn: Well, at least not being as much of a prick as he was before. He ends up becoming a reluctant ally to Luffy during Impel Down and Marineford, providing crucial assistance against Magellan and making a key to Ace's shackles.
* HiddenDepths: Neutralizes and takes the place of one of the back-up executioners after Crocodile knocks out the originals. He also protects a seastone shackled Ace from being injured by Luffy's Gomu Gomu no fusen which was absorbing the force of Sengoku's giant punch, with his Candle Wall. He then made a replacement key for Ace's shackles after Kizaru broke the original. He did all this in honor of his former comrade Mr. 2, someone he had shown [[HeroicSacrifice almost nothing]] but disdain for up till that point.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: On Little Garden, Luffy uses the fire on his hair to light ablaze the wax sculpture encasing his friends.
* HypercompetentSidekick: He's the only person among Buggy's Impel Down escapee followers to realize that Buggy's being overhyped, and tries to talk Buggy down when he's in over in his head.
* ImaginationBasedSuperpower: His powers are almost ComicBook/GreenLantern levels of versatile; were it not for the WeaksauceWeakness mentioned below, he'd probably be even ''higher'' in Baroque Works' food-chain.
* ImprobableHairstyle: It's in the shape of a "3". When using his powers it's on fire.
* InsufferableGenius: Yeah, he's smart. But he's also a total prick. Jailtime helps fix that.
* LoanShark: Was one, going off his epitaph.
* LogicalWeakness: As hard as he can make it become, wax is still just wax, so fire melts it right off.
* MadArtist: His idea of "art" is trapping his victims in wax, essentially turning them into life-sized wax statues, and having his partner Miss Goldenweek paint them.
* MundaneUtility: One of the primary uses of his powers in later arcs is making keys out of his wax, which is ''damn'' useful considering how many people get locked up in Seastone handcuffs.
* PoweredArmor: His ''Candle Champion'', it even looks (and in the anime, sounds) like a [[HumongousMecha giant robot]].
* ServileSnarker: When he joins Buggy, he takes orders from him but constantly rolls his eyes about the ridiculous bluster of The Star Clown, mostly because he's one of the few members of the crew who realizes just how weak Buggy really is.
* ShapingYourAttacks: Pretty much what he does with his wax powers, from shackles to swords to [[ItMakesSenseInContext giant cakes with jack-o'-lanterns on top]].
* SmallNameBigEgo: He thinks he can even take Mr 2's place in the Baroque Works. Crocodile reminded him that he's even weaker than Mr 4, and the only reason he's ranked higher is because he's smarter than Mr. 4.
* SmugSnake: Very smug and is an artistic perfectionist. And not much of a direct combatant.
* SquishyWizard: When Luffy finds him, he knocks him out in one punch.
* SupportPartyMember: His wax powers alone are not exactly useless, but they are far more useful when combined with other people, such as his former partner Miss Goldenweek.
* VerbalTic: Ends his sentences with "-gane".
* VillainTeamUp: With Buggy during their escape in Impel Down, as they just want to break free instead of helping Luffy. It looks like he's even going to remain a permanent member of his crew post-Marineford.
* VocalDissonance: Mr. 3 has a rather thuggish face that wouldn't look out of place on a LoanShark, but his voice doesn't match it in both languages. In the original Japanese he has a rather high pitched sing-song voice, and in the English dub his voice sounds like more of a high pitched British accent.
* WaxMuseumMorgue: His ''Giant Candle Service Set'' slowly cover its victims with wax, turning them into wax statues.
* WeakButSkilled: As stated by Crocodile, Mr. 3 is weaker than Mr. 4. However, he has a higher rank because of his mind, and his plot comes very close to killing most of the Straw Hats and the giants on Little Garden.
* WeaksauceWeakness: Combined with LogicalWeakness. His wax, that can become as hard as steel? Useless against fire. To the point where he can't do anything in areas with above-average temperatures.

->''"Silly boy... What's the use in revenge?! It won’t get you a single belly! Money's what matters!"''

A former pirate and the mother of Edward Weevil who is after Whitebeard's supposed fortune.
----
* AmbiguousSituation: In-universe, most people don't believe her claims of association with Whitebeard and his paternity of Weevil and assume that she's a nobody making up ridiculous claims for attention, but Marco notes that she really was in the same crew with Whitebeard some forty years ago. At this point, it's unclear whether she really isn't lying after all, or if she took something with a tiny grain of truth and spun it into a much larger lie.
* FurAndLoathing: She's greedy, manipulative woman who wears a leopard fur CoatCape.
* {{Gonk}}: Even among older characters in the series she stands out due to her very wrinkled, almost skeletal face.
* {{Greed}}: Despite claiming to have been Whitebeard's lover she's entirely focused on finding his apparent fortune instead of avenging his death, making her son hunt down Whitebeard's former crew and allies to do so. She chides her son for wanting to get revenge and states that money is what's important.
* MeaningfulName: Her Japanese name "Bakkin" can mean "fine" or "penalty", which fits her greedy nature.
* MiniatureSeniorCitizens: She's a contemporary of Whitebeard and a very short old woman.
* MyBelovedSmother: Extremely controlling of her son, with Weevil following her every order.
* NiceHat: A green, feathered bowler.

-->--'''Chapter 623'''

* TigerVersusDragon:

* FishPeople: He's a large tiger blowfish Fish-man.

* SignatureLaugh: "Shashasha".

* TerribleTrio:

* WhipItGood: To fit the standard beast tamer model, he wields a whip.

--->'''Chapter 571'''

* MyBelovedSmother: Extremely controlling of her son, with Weevil following her every order.

no, he was enslaved, escaped and then, unable to bear the thought of someone living as a slave, climbed back the redline to free the slaves

Tiger didn't climb the Red Line, that was his cover story to avoid admitting he had been enslaved.

A pirate crew formed by the Fishmen and Mermen slaves Fisher Tiger freed from Mariejoa, as well as others inhabitants from Fish-Man Island swayed by Fisher Tiger's charisma, like the Arlong Pirates and the Macro Pirates. They are exceptionally dangerous as their nature as Fishmen and Mermen mean they can easily swim in the sea to ambush and flee. They also happen to have a signature sun brand designed to erase the Tenryubitoo marks of slavery.\\\

A legendary Fish-Man and leader of the Sun Pirates. He was known for climbing the Red Line with his bare hands, wreaking havoc on Marijoa and freeing thousands of slaves, both human and fish-man.

* ByronicHero: Like many fish-men, he's prejudiced towards humans, but he shows some belief that there are good humans out there, and the audience gets treated to his thoughts a number of times.
* CycleOfRevenge: Defied. He's well aware of this trope, and despite his personal hatred towards humans, he made sure to treat humans and fish-men the same (for example, freeing ''all'' slaves from Marijoa) so as not to continue it.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: During his adventures, Tiger was captured and enslaved by World Nobles at Marijoa. As a slave Tiger was abused, tortured and humiliated by his masters.

Both ended up betrayed and killed for their trouble- ironically, Fisher Tiger was betrayed by humans, while Otohime was assassinated by a Fish-Man who wanted to stoke anti-human racism. Fittingly enough, Tiger's played by the African-American Creator/GabeKunda in the Funimation dub.

* SwordAndGun: In a flashback, he was shown holding a cutlass and a pistol (along with two other swords and a bazooka) during his assault on Marijoa.

* WouldHurtAChild: A rare, sympathetic example. Fisher branded a young Koala with his crew's sun mark not out of malice but to shows that she wasn't a slave anymore.

A tiger blowfish fish-man of gigantic proportions. He has a very childish personality and is naive and guillible, as shown when Zeo deceives him. Despite being (initially) a member of the nasty Flying Pirates, he's kind and gentle, as he feels really sorry when, with his clumsiness, he accidentally destroys two towns. Due to his enormous size, he's very strong, and can inflate himself to become even bigger.\\\

* AttackOfThe50FootWhatever: 50 foot is an understatement with this guy. He's so large he can hold the Thousand Sunny in the palm of his hand. And he, just like a blowfish, can grow to become even bigger.
* BigDamnHeroes: [[spoiler: Saves the Thousand Sunny from certain destruction by replacing it with the Sun Pirates' ship.]]

* KillItWithFire: He's ultimately defeated by Sanji's "Hell Memories", which sets him fish-man on fire. [[spoiler: He's also affected by the boiling sea water caused by Charlotte Oven.]]

* IdenticalTwinIDTag: She was revealed in the [[AllThereInTheManual One Piece Vol. 4 magazine]] to be the younger twin sister of Charlotte Prim, another human-Merman hybrid. It's averted as they're fraternal twins - Praline is a hammerhead shark mermaid whose hair tied into a bun that resembles the appendages of the aforementioned animal; Prim is an octopus mermaid whose bundled hair resembles an octopus, with most of her hair tied up into a cylindrical shape with the rest hanging down in eight strands, like tentacles.

* SickeninglySweethearts: With her husband, Aladdin; when she embraced him and declared that she'll follow him to the ends of the earth, the other Fishmen were seen blushing heavily and covering their faces in embarrassment.

* CoDragons: Despite being referred to as Buggy's first mate, he shares equal authority with Cabaji. When their captain is temporarly missing, Mohji and Cabaji to decide who's the new captain. After Marineford, the strongest part is no longer true but are still among the closest ones.

* CoolShip: The Miss Love Duck, formerly- getting knocked into the sky caused her crew to basically turn tail on her and run off with her ship. She now uses a much smaller heart-shaped boat not much bigger than Mihawk's Coffin Boat, that only sits a few people.

* OnlySaneWoman: The carnival nature of the Buggy Pirates annoys her quite a bit. Ironically, she used to be the one crazy person among a crew of only sane men, who lost it anytime she had the slightest inclination someone insulted her looks. When she became slim, she lost her BerserkButton - or at least the reason for anyone to ever push it.

Adaptational Modesty is about a character being more modestly dressed, not having a more modest personality. Please read the trope description and not just the name before you add a trope.

* AdaptationalModesty: While in most versions she believes the only thing that changed about her once she ate the fruit was her losing her freckles. In the original English dub, however, she outright admits that eating the fruit made her pretty.
