* MamaBear: When faced with the imprisoned children of Punk Hazard begging to be taken back to their families, the rest of the crew (Sanji in particular) remain indifferent to their plight (though Chopper and Franky did want to go back too, they considered it too reckless). Nami however, is the first to take a stand for them, and her fervor in protecting Caesar Clown's young victims eventually inspires and awakens the dormant conscience of her friends. She's also this to her friends. Considering her backstory, it's very understandable.

** Since her joining, she either wants to charge money from her crew whenever they want her something to do for them (e.g. cooking), gives them loans with ridiculous interests (e.g. demanding them to pay her back the triple amount), or escapes her friends whenever they attempt to get payment for doing her favors (e.g. Usopp making her new weapons). This behavior eventually bites back at her when the "Sanji-Rescue Team" needs someone to cook for everyone, which leads to Luffy, who doesn't want to pay her anything, wasting all of their food supplies in one-go, with the result being something inedible and the team having to starve for a few days. The anime follows up on that where Nami, having learned her lesson this time, cooks everyone food for free.

Nami gets furious when she finds out that the children of Punk Hazard are being treated as lab rats, and the second that Ulti strikes Tama in front of Nami, not even Big Mom can react fast enough before Nami strikes Ulti down.

Nami cried in Sanji's chest at the end of WCI. The quote by Oda has no source, he was not a part of Jump Fest 2008 or 2009 thus the picture of the "interview" is unsustained. Furthermore, he has never claimed that "there would be no romance in the series." Finally, simply because he drew Luffy holding up a baby girl that looks like Nami while the rest of the Straw Hats cheered behind him, including Nami, doesn't mean Nami is an "implied love interest." Most of the female characters Oda draws end up looking like Nami. This page should focus on canon evidence, not subjective theories.

* ImpliedLoveInterest: While Eiichiro Oda did state there will not be any romance in the series, it's worth noting that the baby that Luffy is holding (in a, granted non-canon, page) that represents Oda's daughter looks like Nami.

* SurroundedByIdiots: Nami is unendingly infuriated by her crewmates' reckless antics, and is quick to retaliate with
a punch to the head. Just before the crew entered the Grand Line, Oda was asked who had the highest and lowest IQ of all the characters introduced so far; he replied that Shanks's first mate, Benn Beckman, and Nami were the smartest (in that order), but he couldn't decide which characters were the dumbest because almost every other character is an idiot or a space case.
