** Used by Matilda when the gang is trying to [[spoiler:save Violet from exploding into blueberry flavoring]]. She not only makes sure the oompa loompa doesn't remember anything after, but adds in a post-hypnotic suggestion of acting like a chicken whenever someone says the word "chocolate."
* SnarkToSnarkCombat:
** Matilda and James seem to have an on-going banter war between the two of them, despite them being fairly close friends. Matilda's comebacks often involve calling him a dodo.

** Contrasts with Matilda, who has genius in some sense. James, in chapter 5, describes how "There isn't a moment where she isn't either batting her eyes and sucking on a lollipop, putting on makeup, or saying something stupid." However there are times when this is subverted, such as when [[spoiler:she is the first one to spot the squirrel transformation antidote]].

* Nerd:
** Nearly to a T. He is incredibly logical and has stated that "magic doesn't exist," though Wonka's factory seems to prove otherwise. Even as [[spoiler:a squirrel]], when he was the one [[spoiler:who snuck out of the factory to give the nut to Matilda.]], he is described as having "eyes that look like they were magnified by glasses."

* PsychicLink:
** To Matilda whilst she's in his factory, but is only seen for one chapter. However the intercom communication he uses with her group even whilst he's giving the factory tour could be an example of Telepathy.
* TheMinionMaster:
** His oompa-loompas are his army that, on his order, will stop at nothing to [[spoiler:keep Matilda from leaving the factory]].

* GenerationXerox:
** It could be argued that Veruca may have gotten a lot of her behaviors from Matilda's mother Zinnia; both are shallow and materialistic and both have Nigel wrapped around their fingers.
* SpoiledBrat:
** Veruca practically embodies this trope throughout a good portion of the story. According to her cousin Matilda, "She never does anything herself, except scream for what she wants. I bet even THAT requires someone to scream for her when she's too lazy."
** Subverted in [[spoiler:chapter 40 when her cousin saves her from being burned alive]].

* Augustus Gloop:
** A very overweight boy from Germany. He is the first of the other ticket winners, aside from Charlie and Veruca, to make an appearance in the story. The group finds that he's [[spoiler:about to be poured into the chocolate boiler. This, like how the other children are found, is no accident]].
* Violet Beauregarde:
** A prideful and competitive gum chewer from down South. She is the second of the other three ticket winners to appear in the story. The group finds that she's [[spoiler:slowly expanding until she is to burst into blueberry flavoring, even though Wonka claimed he was going to de-juice her]].
* Mike Teavee:
** A TV and video game-addicted child from the Midwest. He is the final of the three other ticket winners to make his appearance. His use of video game lingo suggests that his addictions have had an impact on him even outside of their worlds. The group finds that he's [[spoiler:being stretched until he's to rip in half]].

* Fire Sweet:
** Mentioned by Tangerine Sparkle, she's a tall oompa-loompa who is given the task of overseeing the oompa-loompas on their projects whilst he is working with Wonka.
* Tangerine Sparkle:
** Head of human resources and project manager, he shows a lot of eagerness for his job. Described as having a small head and wide eyes, it's indicated by Wonka that he's a fairly big talker, as he asks Tangerine to just send him a status report later after going on about it.
* Dizzy Flower:
** One of Wonka's right hand oompa-loompas, she's shown to be fairly skeptical of Wonka, questioning if [[spoiler:Matilda is, in fact, "the Sweet One," even commenting on how she looks so ordinary]].
* Sunshine:
** An Oompa-Loompa who serves Matilda hot chocolate after she comes to in chapter 26.
* Daisy Bloom:
** One of Wonka's right hand oompa-loompas, she's fairly sweet and emotional. She's mentioned to Matilda that the others tease her for being too soft, even being unable to discipline the squirrels during nut room training. She is also the only one of the Oompa Loompas shown to use Matilda's real name.

* Blazing Dusk:
** Briefly mentioned by Tangerine Sparkle as working on the three-course chewing gum in the Inventing Room.
* Orange Flash:
** Briefly mentioned by Tangerine Sparkle as polishing the camera lens in the TV Room.
* Glitter Sun:
** Briefly mentioned by Tangerine Sparkle as working with Golden Desert on fixing the bugs in the Nut Room Laboratory.
* Golden Desert:
** Briefly mentioned by Tangerine Sparkle as working with Glitter Sun on fixing the bugs in the Nut Room Laboratory.

* TheCutie:
** Daisy Bloom is idealistic and soft; not only is she unable to discipline the new squirrels in nut room training with electric shocks, but she was also unable to [[spoiler:kill Dorian, even though she had been assigned to]]. She's also the only Oompa-Loompa shown to actually call Matilda by her first name as opposed to [[spoiler:the Sweet One]].

* Sophie Ballard:
** She's shown to be hanging out with Katherine Albright.
* Katherine Albright:
** She's shown to be hanging out with Sophie Ballard.
* William Carmichael:
** A school bully with a Cockney dialect, inconsistent with the rest of the characters, who is shown bullying Charlie and James in the second chapter.
* Taylor:
** A spoiled, selfish girl with light-brown eyes who is invited to Matilda's birthday party. After she calls Matilda's friends dirty street urchins who don't deserve cake, Matilda, out of anger, [[spoiler:ends up using telekinesis to cover her in cake and "make her the dirty street urchin"]]. Taylor ends up calling Matilda a mistake, and then a witch after [[spoiler:Veruca has a severe reaction to some nutmeg Matilda fed her outside of the story]].
* The Party Brats:
** Unnamed spoiled girls who Matilda's mother invited to Matilda's birthday party. They are very materialistic, shallow, and insult Matilda's friends. According to Matilda, "Their starched ironed clothes and heavy makeup give off the impression they're all beauty pageant contestants" and that conversation with them only ends in failure, as they prefer to "rattle each others' ears off about how their daddy bought them this and their mummy called them that."

* Bill:
** He's the owner of the candy store where, as in canon, Charlie finds the last golden ticket.
* Mr. Turkentine:
** Matilda's teacher who first brings up her interest in candy-making. And according to Wonka, has been sworn into secrecy to not teach about Loompa Land.
* Librarian:
** A nasally librarian, she is reminiscent of Yzma from ''WesternAnimation/TheEmperorsNewGroove''.
* Uncle Nigel:
** Matilda's uncle, who as stated in the story, is virtually wrapped around Zinnia and Veruca's fingers.
* Mr and Mrs. Bucket:
** Charlie's parent; they are shown to be kind and supportive of Charlie and his friends.
* Grandmas Josephine and Georgina:
** Charlie's paternal and maternal grandmothers, respectively. Josephine is shown to have a favorite Wonka bar, the Nut-a-rific. The two of them also are very perceptive, and are able to figure out that [[spoiler:Charlie feels a fondness for Matilda that is more than just friendship]].
* Grandpas Joe and George:
** Charlie's paternal and maternal grandfathers, respectively.

* Captain Jack:
** A stereotypical pirate animatronic who attempts to capture Matilda.
