* ClapYourHandsIfYouBelieve: Inverted. When she finds Tooru for the first time, the dragon is pierced by a holy sword which will destroy the mind of a mortal who touches it. However, Kobiyashi's lack of faith (and maybe helped by her drunk mindset) allows her to draw the huge sword with no harm.
* DidYouJustFlipOffCthulhu: She taunts Tooru's father with the fact that [[AlienNonInterferenceClause he can't kill her]] when she tries to stop him from taking Tooru home. It nearly turns into a case of DoNotTauntCthulhu, but Tooru gives her father the mother of all {{Death Glare}}s when he tries to attack.

* LadyLooksLikeADude: When they first met, Tooru thought Kobayashi was a man (possibly because she's flat-chested and doesn't really look that feminine in general, which can make her look like an androgynous man).

The titular dragon maid, she serves Kobayashi to pay back the debt of Kobayashi saving her life (and because Tooru has a huge crush on her).

* BerserkButton: Don't say the "[[OhMyGods G]]" word if there's even the slightest chance that Tooru might hear. But even above that, ''don't hurt Kobayashi''. Cremene did both of these, and the only reason he didn't end up DeaderThanDead was because it'd be annoying if his buddies showed up looking for him.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Tooru doesn't like it when Kobayashi spends so much time with Makoto. She even considered killing him on the spot. She's also not too happy with Kobayashi mentoring her rival Elma.

* {{Expy}}: With the exception of the horns, Tooru bears a striking resemblance to Fuyu from ''[=RaButa=]'', right down to doing the "Finish Quickly Pose" when doing laundry.
* HealingFactor: In the first chapter, Tooru serves Kobayashi a grilled piece of her tail, then grows it back. In chapter 26, she uses her tail for food again, serving Kobayashi and Kanna tail-meat sandwiches.
* IOweYouMyLife: When they first met, Kobayashi pulled a holy sword out of Tooru's back, saving her life.

* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: A minor moment for Tooru when she is thankful [[spoiler:Kobayashi calls at her during the fight with Iruru. Before then, Tooru had become so annoyed with the other dragon's attacks, she is considering it fine to allow as many humans to die so long as Iruru is defeated and Kobayashi is not harmed. She knows she can never allow herself to think like that]].
* NinjaMaid: Tooru might be the strongest example ever. Most maids don't have the power to warp reality and blow up cities.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: The original fan translations use "Tooru" while the official Creator/SevenSeasEntertainment version uses "Tohru".
* YourSizeMayVary: Tooru's dragon form ranges in size from "a small house" to "a single claw is bigger than a car". Possibly justified by the fact that shapeshifting has been established as one of her powers from the very beginning.

* NewTransferStudent: Kanna starts attending elementary school in chapter 13. [[UndeadTaxExemption The fact that she's a dragon from another world with no legal identity]] gets solved by Tooru using magic to create the necessary paperwork. While the school setting rarely shows up afterwards, her new friend Saikawa ends up becoming a recurring character.

* MeaningfulName: His human name means "Savage Big Mountain", which Tooru chose based on the appearance of his dragon form.

An order dragon who is Tooru's arch rival. She later gets a job working at Kobayashi's company.

* BarrierWarrior: Elma can create powerful barriers. She does one strong enough [[spoiler:to block any collateral damage from Tooru's powerful attack when Tooru is fighting Iruru]].
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Elma is a harmony dragon who is often clueless, easily tricked, bribe-able with snack food, and stranded on Earth. However, she's also noted to be Tooru's equal. It's an aspect whose power scale not fully known until Iruru and Cremene appear and show how Tooru (and by extension, Elma) eclipse other dragons in might. Hell, Cremene the arrogant jerk of harmony dragon refer to her as Elma-sama, show her status among harmony dragon.

* ThroughHisStomach: Elma loves food, [[SweetTooth especially sweets]]. In her first appearance, Tooru (her ''arch rival'') managed to convince her to leave by offering her ten cream puffs. Over the course of subsequent chapters, Kobayashi manages to more or less "tame" her by buying her sweet food after work... which comes in handy when [[spoiler:she has to bribe her into helping Tooru in her fight against Iruru despite a Harmony dragon (Tooru and Iruru are Chaos dragons)]].

* MundaneUtility: She uses her ability to fire massive {{Wave Motion Gun}}s to keep the laundry dry by disperse rain clouds. She also huses her PerceptionFilter power to sneak into Kobayashi's workplace and watch her work without anyone (Kobayashi included) noticing her presence... and then uses her invisibility to trip Kobayashi's boss several times in a row for [[{{Jerkass}} abusing his authority to harrass Kobayashi, foist his own workload on her, and viciously reprimand her for the most trivial of mistakes]].
