The following characters debut in ''VideoGame/MegaManNetworkTransmission''.

----

!! [=BrightMan.EXE=]
!!! ''Voiced by: Creator/KatsuyukiKonishi (JP)''
[[quoteright:218:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/brightexe.jpg]]
A Navi taken over by the fake Zero Virus vaccine in ''Network Transmission''. Shows up as a Darkloid and Asteroid Navi in the anime.
----
* AdaptationalVillainy: In ''Network Transmission'', he was only fought due to the fake vaccine infecting him. In the anime, he's a Darkloid.
* AlternateSelf: [=BrightMan=] is the ''Battle Network'' counterpart of the classic Robot Master of the same name from ''VideoGame/MegaMan4''.
* CallingYourAttacks: [[TrillingRs BURRRRAITO]] [[GratuitousEnglish BIIMU!]]
* CanonForeigner: His operator was never seen in the games, but Stream introduces a minor criminal who needs to give 100 cars to a mob boss to save his girlfriend and is given Asteroid Bright Man by Slur.
* CatchPhrase: The Japanese version of the anime has him saying "Yo! Check it out!" every so often.
* GratuitousEnglish: A lot of his battle quotes are this, with a nice helping of {{Engrish}} for good measure.
-->"Cahm ahhhhhhn!"
-->"WHAT AH YOU DOING?!"
-->"Have mahrcy on me!"
* LifeDrain: One of his attacks can restore his health.
* ShockAndAwe: He's an Elec Navi.

!! [=NeedleMan.EXE=]
!!! ''Voiced by: Toshihide Tsuchiya (JP), Tony Alcantar (EN)''
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/needleman_exe.png]]
A Navi operated by Yai's unnamed gardener. In the anime, he's operated by Ms. Yuri instead.
----
* AlternateSelf: [=NeedleMan=] is the ''Battle Network'' counterpart of the classic Robot Master of the same name from ''VideoGame/MegaMan3''.
* AxCrazy: At least when he's infected, as he's prone to spastic twitching throughout his boss fight and incredibly aggressive in general.
* FlatCharacter: In ''Stream'', his prickly personality is gone and he's just there to fight evil.
* GreenThumb: He's a Wood-type Navi, likely as an allusion to thorned plants like roses and brambles.
* {{Jerkass}}: He isn't just [[AstonishinglyAppropriateAppearance literally prickly]], he also acts prickly (at least while he's infected with the Zero Virus). When faced with a bouncer who won't let him into the Undernet since he isn't mean enough, [=MegaMan=] channels [=NeedleMan's=] abrasive behavior to make him change his mind.
* MyMasterRightOrWrong: In the anime he remains with Yuriko even after she turns good.
* SmugSmiler: His default expression.
* SpikesOfVillainy: Driven home with the anime's dub version calling him [=SpikeMan=]. And of course, a member of Nebula.
* SpikeShooter: His signature Needle Cannon.

!! [=SwordMan.EXE=]
!!! ''Voiced by: Creator/TetsuInada [Red]; Daisuke Kirii [Blue]; Creator/TsuguoMogami [Yellow] (JP), Creator/PaulDobson (EN)''
[[quoteright:309:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/swordman_exe.png]]
A WWW Navi guarding the way to the Life Virus in ''Network Transmission''. Appears as a Darkloid in the anime's ''Axess'' season and returns as an Asteroid Navi working for a ninja.
----
* AlternateSelf: [=SwordMan=] is the ''Battle Network'' counterpart of the classic Robot Master of the same name from ''VideoGame/MegaMan8''.
* AnimateInanimateObject: He's three swords working together.
* AscendedExtra: Downplayed. Only the red sword talks via the picture on the dialogue box. The yellow and blue swords are just there and used for an attack. In the anime, they can also talk and occasionally swap out with the red sword to control their body.
* {{BFS}}: All three swords are massive.
* MultipleHeadCase: Each of his swords are capable of talking and thought.
* ShockwaveStomp: His Sword Press attack is basically this.
* TechnicolorBlade: Well, not the blades, but the handles for each of his sentient sword are primary colors.

!! [=StarMan.EXE=]
!!! ''Voiced by: Creator/{{Hyosei}} (JP)''
[[quoteright:227:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/starmanexe.jpg]]
A WWW Navi selling a fake vaccine to the Zero Virus which causes said virus instead. Appears in the anime as a Darkloid during ''Axess'' and returns as an Asteroid Navi in Stream operated by a fortune teller specializing in romance.
----
* AlternateSelf: [=StarMan=] is the ''Battle Network'' counterpart of the classic Robot Master of the same name from ''VideoGame/MegaMan5''.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: He seems like a friendly Navi trying to fight the Zero Virus by distributing vaccines to Navis, but he's actually a WWW agent who's spreading the disease through Navi-hacking programs.
* ColonyDrop: He tries this in Stream when he misunderstands his operator's desire to create shooting stars by summoning an asteroid to wipe out Japan, or at least Den Tech City.
* DubNameChange: ''Axess''' English dub changed his name to [=NovaMan=].
* TheGreys: His design invokes this, in keeping with his astral theming.
* LightIsNotGood: He's a brightly colored navi who's primarily white and yellow, has star themed attacks and his emblem is a five pointed star which are supposed to symbolize luck. Despite all this, he works for the professor in ''Network Transmission'' selling the fake vaccine and is both a Darkloid and Asteroid Navi in the anime.
* StarPower: Its in his name after all. He drops star shaped meteors as an attack.

!! [=GravityMan.EXE=]
!!! ''Voiced by: Yoshimitsu Shimoyama (JP), Robert O Smith (EN)''
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gravityexe.jpg]]
A WWW Navi in ''Network Transmission''. Appears in the anime as a Darkloid and Asteroid Navi.
----
* AlternateSelf: [=GravityMan=] is the ''Battle Network'' counterpart of the classic Robot Master of the same name from ''VideoGame/MegaMan5''.
* AttackItsWeakPoint: You can only attack his head.
* EyesAlwaysShut: Averted in the anime occasionally.
* GravityMaster: True to his name, he can control gravity. This affects gameplay by placing Megaman on the ceiling.
* RoboSpeak: Probably the most robotic minded of all the Navis in the series.

!! [=Zero.EXE=]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zero_exe_8.jpg]]
A virus/Navi hybrid of sorts in the ''Network Transmission'' game.
----
* AdaptationRelationshipOverhaul: Later ''Battle Network'' games introduce the {{Alternate Sel|f}}ves of Colonel and Iris, but Colonel and Iris don't seem to know he exists.
* AffablyEvil: He is polite towards Megaman, but Zero does not intend to end the Zero virus plague caused by his existence without a fight.
* AlternateSelf: [=Zero=] is the ''Battle Network'' counterpart of Zero himself from ''VideoGame/MegaManX'' and ''VideoGame/MegaManZero''.
* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome: Despite him being canonically okay in the end, he just disappears in the future games without much explanation.
* FaceDeathWithDignity: He holds nothing against Megaman for coming to delete him and, after being defeated, is quite accepting of deletion. [[spoiler:Thankfully, if you have the [=MystData=], there's no need for him to die.]]
* GrewBeyondTheirProgramming: He is a virus. Not an infected Navi, a full-blown computer virus that gained a soul. Even he's not sure how that happened, and [[TragicMonster he's not too pleased about the problems he causes just by existing]].
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler: If you manage to find the [=MystData=] before you face him for the final time, Lan's dad will figure out how to turn Zero into a Navi. He also leads the authorities right to the Professor's location in the finale, turning the BittersweetEnding into a happy one.]]
* {{Irony}}: The ''Battle Network'' version of Zero looks more robotic than the {{Ridiculously Human Robot|s}} of ''VideoGame/MegaManX''--this helps distinguish him from [=ProtoMan=], who is already a SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute for Zero.
* LargeAndInCharge: The largest humanoid Navi in the game, he's easily four times the size of [=MegaMan=]. You'd be forgiven for thinking he's the BigBad before he starts talking.
* LaserBlade: His take on [[IconicItem the Z-Saber]] is as a BladeBelowTheShoulder.
* ParadoxPerson: He's not technically a [=NetNavi=] but a virus that has [[EvolutionaryLevels evolved]] to the state of imitating one. (Much like the original, who is very similar to reploids despite having been developed independently of them).
* PutOnABus: Zero leaves to go WalkingTheEarth in the good ending of ''Network Transmission'', and is never seen again.
* TragicMonster: "I didn't ask to be born a virus."
* TyphoidMary: Just like his original counterpart, he spreads the Zero Virus just by existing.
* WholePlotReference: His story is nigh-on identical to that of the actual Zero: Created by Wily, spread a dangerous virus, fought someone intended to hunt him down, had a HeelFaceTurn, proves pivotal to the defeat of the BigBad.

!! Professor
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/professor_6.jpg]]
The BigBad of ''VideoGame/MegaManNetworkTransmission'', who has taken it on himself to revive Wily's goal of destroying Net Society by recreating the Life Virus and starting the war Wily wanted. His backstory [[RememberTheNewGuy indicates him to have been]] Wily's assistant during the events of the first game.
----
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: Bizzarely, he's got sickly greenish-grey skin in a world where humans otherwise have completely normal skintones.
* BigBad: Of ''Network Transmission'' and most of ''Anime/MegaManNTWarrior Beast+''.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: [[MistreatmentInducedBetrayal His view of Zero as a tool is what drove him away]] and he programmed Zero One to self destruct when defeated. Zero uses this to his advantage and teleports both of them into his airship forcing him to abandon ship with a parachute allowing the [=NetPolice=] to catch him.
* LoonyFan: He's a psychotic Wily fanboy who wants to destroy the world as revenge for his idol's defeat in ''Battle Network 1''.
* OmnicidalManiac: Like Wily, his ultimate goal is to destroy Net Society by bombarding the planet with missiles fired by hacked satelites.
* PsychopathicManchild: Despite being a brilliant scientist and criminal mastermind, The Professor is ''ridiculously'' immature. When Lan and [=MegaMan=] stand up to him, his cool demeanor instantly crumbles and he's reduced to childishly taunting them like a bully on the playground. And when he's defeated and arrested, all he can do is impotently screech and whine as he's hauled off to prison.
* SmugSnake: The Professor's a competent threat who does a good job at covering his tracks, but he's also terrible at improvising when his plans are finally compromised, and left a gaping weak spot in his security measures that allows Zero (should he survive) to send his location to law enforcement. He's completely incapable of learning from his mistakes, and starts throwing childish tantrums the second he's met with any kind of resistance.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: In the anime. A sushi restaurant serves as a front for his virus lab and his airship resembles a sushi roll where he's shown eating some as well.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: Concept art indicates he and Yuuichirou were companions at one point in their lives.
