Better term to describe the theme of Cube's story.

** Value of Humans: Cube, despite being a robot, was not at all [[AIIsACrapshoot a crapshoot]], and tried hard to keep his fellow human companions safe. He was the one that managed to fight off the super computer going haywire, despite the computer's reasoning that HumansAreBastards. He took Huey and Corporal Darth's words to heart, striving to learn and learning never to hurt another human. Oersted also saw humans being ungrateful and bitter, but ultimately gave up on humanity in general when he was personally injured by their words. Oersted's words at him also paints another thing that makes Cube differ: As a newborn being, Cube wasn't into complicated thinking like the values of humans, so he just continued to trust them despite their squabbling. Oersted, being a former human, already had complicated feelings around many emotions around him and noted that maybe what he was really doing was over-thinking things when the simple answer was already in front of him: the advice of Hasshe and Uranus.

** To the Earthen Heart successors. All successors received prejudice and lived a miserable life at first which would give them justifications to be envious of others, but they curbed their envy and became better people thanks to the Shifu. * PowerOfTrust: A fervent believer in this trope. He was always vocal about the power of faith and believes that only through trust in others, humans can become strong. He wanted to instill that trust in people into Hash and Oersted, succeeding with Hash. With Oersted, this trust was abandoned once he hit the DespairEventHorizon.
* ShadowArchetype: Like with Straybow and Oersted, Uranus is this for the Earthen Heart Shifu. Both are old men tutoring their next generation's warriors and sacrificed their lives for their successors. The Earthen Heart Shifu succeeded in imparting his kindness and improving the lives of his successors, but Uranus failed despite his kind encouragement.
* TokenGoodTeammate: Of the Middle Ages heroes. While Hash was only disillusioned at worst and only took on his role again just to prove he wasn't a coward instead for any altruistic reasons, Straybow turned out to be the most vilest of the group who was willing to ruin the life of Oersted just to win a one-sided grudge and turned him into the BigBad in the process, Uranus remained as the only one with good intentions to the very end.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: His telling Oersted to hold on to hope as long as someone still believes in him is well-intentioned enough, but it proves to be a major part in his breakdown when Uranus himself turns out to be the last surviving person who still has faith in him. When Oersted discovers that even his love interest Alicia now hates him, he goes over the edge.

The man who killed the Demon King previously and hailed as a hero, but quickly was disgusted with how humanity just tossed him to the side once he's out of uses, and retired as a hermit. Uranus calls him out for this when the Demon King returns and Hash joins Oersted to prove that he's still in shape. He succumbs to a long-term illness after the battle and trusts Oersted to carry on his legacy as a hero.

* ShadowArchetype: Just like with Uranus, he represents this trope for Ryoma Sakamoto. Both were older heroes that ended up tutoring people, but Ryoma continued to trust people despite the dark nature of the world and managed to instill his sense of trust in Oboromaru for good, while Hash was quick to lose his trust of others. He only regains it in his last breaths, but the trust passed down to Oersted got turned into tragedy and ended up all for nothing.

** Love: Pogo was able to gain love and work it out well, while Oersted was screwed over by love, but if the bad end is achieved, he still utters Alicia's name, signifying that deep down, he might've still loved her. In the end, Oersted recalls that like Pogo, [[IJustWantToBeLoved he was looking for love]], until it spat on him on the face. One major difference is that Pogo was rejected from his tribe, whom he grew up with as his peoples until he befriended Beru, and won back the love of his people for stopping the cause of conflict, allowing peace and love to thrive again for not just his own people, but others as well. Oersted however despaired either in selfishness or narrowmindedness over how he did not get his fairy tale ending, refusing to face reality and the task to win back the love of his people by showing who the real culprit was, and even lacking love for himself by not acknowledging everyone makes mistakes and sometimes things don't work out all the time.
** Decisions at Prejudice: All of the Earthen Heart students suffered prejudices that could have darkened their hearts: Lei was alone all the time due to being a lone bandit, Hong was ostracized due to not only his dine-dashing thievery but also because of his fatness, and Yun was bullied into becoming a pickpocket despite his kind nature. But the Earthen Heart Shifu came along and taught them the way of good and facing their problems, persevering against the troubles ahead of them, choosing to not give in to hate and darkness until they finally stood above the prejudices; Yun kept his pure heart and became stronger, Lei became a kinder person, Hong became proud of his own body and whoever survives became a respected person. Oersted attempted to survive the prejudices after being duped into killing the King, but ultimately decided to give up after the betrayal of Straybow and Alicia's suicide, forgetting the advice that Hash and Uranus gave him in his anger.

** Trust: Oboromaru used to think that it's fine to kill people for the order, but realized the wrongness of killing people for the wrong reason, which is why he counted his kills and was able to go on a PacifistRun if he wanted, and the world can change because of trust thanks to Ryoma instead of forcing one's mindset through like what Ode Iou was trying to do. Oersted, being a former human, already had complicated feelings around many emotions around him and noted that maybe what he was really doing was over-thinking things when the simple answer was already in front of him: the advice of Hash and Uranus.

Protagonist of the Middle Ages chapter. A KnightInShiningArmor, he has won the hand of the kingdom's princess, only to see her spirited away by the Demon King. He sets out to rescue her...

* OneHundredPercentAdorationRating: He was a famous knight, beloved by all in Lucrece, with him even becoming the future heir to the kingdom through his marriage with Alicia, so he would have become a famous ruler as well. That is, until Straybow in his envy and bitterness ruined all of this, causing the entire kingdom to [[HatedByAll hate Oersted]].
* AccidentalMurder: His troubles truly begin when an apparition of the Demon King tricks him into killing the king of Lucrece.
* AllForNothing: His goal is to kill the demon and get the girl. By the end of his quest, everyone he cares about is either dead (Hash, Uranus, and the King), hates his guts (the villagers), or both (Straybow and Alicia).
* AndThenJohnWasAZombie: And then Oersted became the GreaterScopeVillain.
* ArcWords: "As long as there is one person who believes in you." Uranus voices this to Oersted, and it becomes his one remaining thread when his life goes to hell, carrying him to the end of his story. And then, the one person he had left in all the world, the woman he dearly loved, turns out to have never had faith in him, either. [[DespairEventHorizon And then,]] [[WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds he has nothing.]]
* AsLongAsThereIsOneMan: As long as one person still believes in him, he'll keep fighting. Unfortunately, destiny decided to make him their bitch, and he snaps because of it.
* BreakTheCutie: Spends the entirety of his chapter undergoing this, being introduced as the classic beloved RPG hero who goes to save the love of his life, only for the quest to go ''horribly wrong''. When it finally becomes too much, he ''snaps''.
* BreakoutVillain: Oersted’s whole story and significance to the game’s overarching plot became the main attraction of the title in the opinion of many fans, and indeed it is as Oersted is the reference of choice in ''Final Fantasy Legends'' and ''Theatrhythm Final Fantasy'' for smartphones to celebrate Live A Live’s 20th anniversary, a boss fight against him is the feature in Legends and a stage based on Oersted and Straybow infamous event in Theatrhythm with 2 songs from the game, Odio’s themes.
* CorruptedCharacterCopy: Of the Warrior of Light from ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyI''. He's a KnightInShiningArmor out to save the world from evil, but unlike the Warrior of Light he gets betrayed and screwed over six ways to Sunday and ends up becoming the very thing he swore to destroy.
* DeconstructorFleet: His entire chapter is a brutal dismantling of an archetypal fantasy story like ''Franchise/DragonQuest'' or ''Franchise/FinalFantasy'', showing what happens when a KnightInShiningArmor with a very simple life philosophy has everything he believes broken to pieces.
* DespairEventHorizon: His chapter is all about showing how easily this could happen.
* DidNotGetTheGirl: In literally the worst way imaginable. Not only does Alicia start to have feelings towards Straybow thanks to his manipulations, she outright rejects Oersted and kills herself so that she can live with Straybow in the afterlife. Right after Oersted had killed him.
* DrivenToVillainy: He does not go JumpingOffTheSlipperySlope into evil. Straybow grabs a sledgehammer, destroys everything he cares about, bludgeons his innocence to death, and punts him off the slope.
* FaceHeelTurn: Of the ThenLetMeBeEvil variety.
* FallenHero: After Alicia offs herself.
* FatalFlaw: Reliance on others for self-validation. As things steadily get worse for him, his remaining companions stress the importance of holding on to hope as long as one person still believes in him. This leads Oersted to become fixated on his fiancée Alicia as that one person. When it turns out that even she has lost all faith in him and commits suicide, he is left with nobody and nothing. Oersted promptly snaps and declares war on all of humanity.
* FinalSpeech: After being defeated he warns the heroes that as long as there is enough hatred, anyone can become the Demon King.
* FreakOut: Alicia's suicide finishes off the last shreds of his sanity, and he loses all faith in humanity and pulls a FaceHeelTurn shortly afterward.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: Went from a simple knight to the greatest threat to the space-time continuum in all of existence.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: He starts off as a blond knight and the kingdom's greatest hero. [[SubvertedTrope Then it all comes crumbling down.]]
* HeroicMime: Unlike the other protagonists, except Pogo and Cube (kinda), and both of those were justified examples. It's intentional. At the end of his chapter, he stops being one, as he renounces his humanity, and becomes Odio the Demon King. Thus, it was likely that the player was meant to visualize themselves in his shoes, and thus go through Oersted's mental breakdown exactly as he did. It also makes sense from a thematic angle: He is a silent protagonist, but at the end of his chapter, he stops being the protagonist, so he is no longer bound by this trope. Even the remake trailer invokes this: To avoid spoilers of what he becomes, despite the trailer listing his voice actor, he doesn't even speak a word, because Square-Enix still wants to hide from the public that he'll fall from grace and that's when he starts speaking and stops being a silent protagonist.
* HeroWithBadPublicity: After being tricked into committing regicide, he's condemned as the Demon King by all of Lucrece.
* HeWhoFightsMonsters: He sets out to slay the Demon King, but the events in his tale prove so traumatic that he suffers a total psychotic breakdown and becomes the Demon King himself.
* InTheEndYouAreOnYourOwn: Through no real fault of his own, everyone he ever counts on ends up dead or against him by the end of his tale. Considering the fact that he was relying on someone believing in him to keep moving forward, this is what pushes him over the edge.
* IronButtMonkey: All the bad things seem to happen to him during his storyline. Deconstructed heavily and very much ''not'' played for laughs.
* TheKingslayer: Everything starts to truly go wrong for him after he is tricked into killing the king.
* KnightInShiningArmor: His general character design and personality. At first.
* {{Leitmotif}}: ''"Wings That Don't Reach"''. The name foreshadows his fall from grace. He, as Odio, is also associated with ''"Demon King Odio"'' and ''"Megalomania"''.
* MaddenIntoMisanthropy: After the public demonizes him, his former best friend reveals he set up the events leading to his ruin, and the girl he was trying to save rejects him and commits hara-kiri, he finally takes his misery out on humanity.
* MagikarpPower: To be quite frank, his starting stats are absolutely pathetic and he can barely defeat anything early on. However, his stat growth is fantastic, and he gains an array of potent abilities, so by the time you no longer have a full party, you're at the point where you don't need them.
* MeaningfulName: His name on its own sounds like "ousted", his fate from the kingdom as well as "arrested", which happens to him later with Uranus. In addition, the first and last letters of his name are O and D--which start "Odio". Taking out the O and D also gives you the word "erste", a way of saying "first" in German, tying in with him essentially being the first "incarnation" of Odio.
* NotWhatItLooksLike: He is caught red-handed with the king’s blood still fresh on his blade, and claiming he hallucinated the Demon King would sound like a flimsy lie.
* OneManArmy: Unlike the other protagonists, who either have parties at their back or focus on single combat, Oersted is made to run the final two dungeons of his tale and kill his way through dozens of enemies on his lonesome.
* ProtagonistJourneyToVillain: His entire story is the origin story for the BigBad.
* PureIsNotGood: Oersted is truly a pure-hearted knight. He also fell the hardest from grace because fate decided to screw with his purity and he gave in. If the Earthen Heart successor is Yun, he makes a remark that Oersted is just too pure... which brought indecisiveness (he should have taken action), harkening his fall from grace.
* PyrrhicVictory: At the end of his tale, he successfully kills the villain and saves the girl. Too bad everyone in the kingdom still thinks he's the Demon King and hates his guts, and said girl tells him to sod off before killing herself, leaving him completely alone. Unsurprisingly, this causes him to snap.
* SanitySlippage: As his tale progresses, his mental state begins to bend further and further... and when Alicia kills herself, he ''snaps''.
* StartOfDarkness: When Alicia declares that she no longer believes in him and commits suicide right in front of him.
* SuddenlySpeaking: He spends most of his chapter as a HeroicMime, but starts speaking during his FaceHeelTurn and remains talkative for the rest of the game.
* ThenLetMeBeEvil: At the end of his chapter, he concludes that, if that's the way the world wants to see him, so be it.
* TragicHero: His chapter initially opens as a mission to SaveThePrincess from the demon king, which is pretty standard fantasy fare. Everything in the plot moves towards him being a hero: he wins the princess's hand in marriage, he gathers a group of supposedly TrueCompanions to go after the demon king, and the fallen older hero even passes his sword onto him. Alas, he returns empty handed from the trip with 2 of his 3 companions dead, having been unable to find the princess. Duped by an illusion, he makes the big mistake of striking down his king, setting off a chain of events which derails his [[TheHerosJourney Hero's Journey]] and ends with his crossing the DespairEventHorizon. In the face of these events, he is unable to overcome the [[FatalFlaw weakness in his heart]] and [[MisanthropeSupreme loses faith in humanity]].
* TraumaCongaLine: He quickly goes through one: seeing his friends die one by one, the people turned against him, all orchestrated by one jealous friend, and then his lover turns out to be in love with that jealous friend... all these after being told that AsLongAsThereIsOneMan...
* WalkingSpoiler: Not even delving into the fact that he reveals the game has eight sections instead of seven, it's hard to talk about him or his story without diving into the fact that he's the villain responsible for ''everything'' in the game. Also, the reason why the Middle Ages Chapter folder got added a spoiler warning.
* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: Loses, is rejected by, or is horribly betrayed by everyone and finally becomes the Demon King Odio.

[[folder:Straybow]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Shizuma Hodoshima (Japanese)
->''"You will repay my loyalty in DEATH!"''

Oersted's friend, a wizard who got second place in the tournament for Alicia's hand. During the fight with the Demon King, he sacrifices himself to save his allies... or does he?
----
* AlwaysSecondBest: And he hates it.
* AmbiguousSituation: Was the Demon King reincarnating through Straybow at first before jumping to Oersted after Straybow's demise? Or was Straybow just a horrible person all on his own without any form of Odio influencing him?
* AmbitionIsEvil: When Oersted's party crashed into Devil's Peak and wandered into a dead end which had the supposed Demon King, Straybow figured out there was actually a secret passage where the princess was kept, but wanting to get one over on his rival and take her for himself, Straybow faked the room collapsing to get everyone else out and fake his death, then tricked Oersted into killing the king [[HatedByAll and becoming a pariah]]. In the end, his ambition resulted not only in his death and the princess committing suicide to follow him, but Oersted became corrupted into [[BigBad Odio]] because of this, [[GoneHorriblyRight dooming all of Lucrece and kickstarting the events of the other 7 chapters.]]
* ArcVillain: He is the main antagonist of the Middle Ages Chapter.
* TheAtoner: Maybe. He's probably aware that he started the whole mess regarding Odio at least and is genuinely shocked about it.
* TheBadGuyWins: He succeeds in his plan to ruin Oersted's life, and killing him doesn't actually fix anything.
* ClimaxBoss: Could be considered one for the game as a whole. The fight with him is right after the big reveal for the Middle Ages Chapter and right before the big reveal for the whole game, and it's the last thing you do before the final chapter.
* DisproportionateRetribution: He's highly envious of his friend Oersted having it better than him. He decides the best way to rectify this is to ruin Oersted's life and reputation so ''he'' can get the glory and the girl.
* DrivenByEnvy: He ruins Oersted's life out of jealousy.
* EvilFormerFriend: He is introduced as Oersted's best buddy, but either [[EvilAllAlong turned]] or [[FaceHeelTurn turns]] against him out of jealousy.
* EvilSorcerer: Not at first, but his envy of Oersted pushed him over the edge.
* FatalFlaw: Envy. Despite having a pretty good gig as a powerful sorcerer who is best friends with the soon-to-be king who remained amicable with him even after victory, he can't see anything but the fact that Oersted has it better than him and concocts a plan to ruin him that ultimately spells doom for the kingdom and puts all of reality in danger.
* FinalBoss: Of the Middle Ages Chapter.
* GoneHorriblyRight: He set out to break Oersted's spirit. He succeeded, and the entire kingdom of Lucrece, and a whole lot of other people in other times and lands, suffer for it.
* MasterOfIllusion: His plan kicks into high gear when he makes Oersted see the King as the Demon King one night... It's unclear whether he was the one who created the ''other'' false Demon King or not.
* ShadowArchetype:
** To the Earthen Heart successors. All successors received prejudice and lived a miserable life at first which would give them justifications to be envious of others, but they curbed their envy and became better people thanks to the Shifu. Straybow wasn't that miserable at first, what with being a powerful wizard and having a good friendship with Oersted, but he couldn't contend with his envy of Oersted due to being AlwaysSecondBest, and he turns into a worse man that inadvertently puts all timelines in danger.
** To Mad Dog. Mad Dog, too, is the rival of the hero, whom he always fails to defeat. The difference is that Mad Dog appreciates the dynamic between him and Sundown, despite being a bounty Hunter and [[RunningGag Sundown always scaring his horses away, leaving him stranded in the wilds]]. On the other hand, despite outwardly being Oersted's friend, Sraybow is bitter and resentful towards him, showing how little he appreciates their friendship, even though Oersted did nothing wrong. Furthermore, Mad Dog is able to (temporarily) set aside his differences with Sundown to stop a bigger evil, while Straybow lets his resentment consume him and (accidentally) creates an even [[BigBad bigger evil]] as a result.
* {{Sidekick}}: To Oersted ...and he's sick of it.
%%* SquishyWizard
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Now, if he was just able to keep his jealousy and issues being the NumberTwo at bay, the whole existence and all timelines might not have to be terrorized by Odio, [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone and he comes to regret all of it]], when found in Akira's Dungeon in the last scenario.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Uranus and Hash]]
!Uranus
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/{{Mugihito}} (Japanese)

An old priest who previously saved the world from the Demon King along with Hash, and was seemingly able to resume normal life until the Demon King returned and he, with Oersted and Straybow, must urge Hash to get back in shape and face the Demon King again.
----
* DisappointedInYou: When encountered in the Mind Dungeon, all he has to say about Oersted is "That fool..."
* HeroicSacrifice: He expends the last of his power to unlock the door to Oersted's cell so he can escape.

!Hash
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/TakayukiSugo (Japanese)

----
* DyingMomentOfAwesome: This was the reason why he decided to join the group in their fight against the Demon King. [[SecretlyDying Not that he had much time anyway in this world]].
* FallenHero: He used to be a celebrated hero but grew disgusted with the generally selfish men that didn't appreciate what he did to the people and retired as a hermit.

[[folder:Princess Alicia]]
!Alicia
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alicia_1.jpg]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/MihoArakawa (Japanese)
->''"I... believe in you."''

The princess of the Kingdom of Lucrece and betrothed of Oersted. When the Demon King captures her, she patiently awaits Oersted's help.

* TheAtoner: Other souls trapped in Akira's dungeon are completely powerless to help the heroes escape. Alicia somehow still holds some sort of power to transport the heroes out of the dungeon and [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone she looks really ashamed of her actions]], so after begging the heroes to stop Oersted, she teleports them out of the dungeon as an attempt to redeem herself.
* CreateYourOwnVillain: Her suicide out of spite towards Oersted proves the final trigger that turns him from a heroic knight into a misanthropic, vengeful monster.
* DamselInDistress: Oersted's primary goal is to rescue her from the clutches of the Demon King.
* DrivenToSuicide: After Oersted kills Straybow, she declares her love for Straybow before plunging a dagger into her gut.
* LivingEmotionalCrutch: Deconstructed. By the end of the Middle Ages Chapter, Alicia is the only thing keeping Oersted in the fight. When she rejects him for the man who ruined his life and kills herself, his sanity goes bye-bye.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: When she's encountered in Akira's dungeon, her sprite shows her covering her face in shame, and she looks like she's crying for what seems to be eternity. She most likely realizes that she's the one who finally broke Oersted and completed his transformation into Odio, dooming Lucrece and all timelines, and she's very very ashamed of herself.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Thank you for destroying what was left of Oersted's shattered sanity, princess.
* PerfectlyArrangedMarriage: She was initially happy to marry Oersted, after he won her hand in the Tournament. But thanks to the Demon kidnapping her and Straybow's manipulation, she lost her love and faith in him.
* ShadowArchetype: In a way, she's this to Beru from Pogo's chapter. Both are the official {{Love Interest}}s of their heroes [[DamselInDistress who are in distress themselves]], but Beru reciprocates with Pogo and their relationship continues harmoniously, while Alicia at first presents herself as reciprocating but ends up rejecting Oersted, becoming the final catalyst that turns Oersted into Odio.
* SympathyForTheDevil: After Straybow's death, Alicia claims that all he wanted was approval and to be recognized, and that [[BlamingTheVictim his actions were Oersted's own fault]] for never truly acknowledging his accomplishments. This, plus her suicide immediately afterwards, proves to be the final nail in the coffin for Oersted's sanity and humanity.
* TogetherInDeath: After the final battle of the Middle Ages Chapter, she takes her own life in order to be together with Straybow in the afterlife. [[AndIMustScream She ends up together with him, all right...]]
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Her abandonment of Oersted is the last straw for his already fractured mind; killing herself is what causes him to renounce his humanity and become Odio.

[[folder:Demon Lord]]
->''"If it isn't the hero Hash and his friend Uranus... you will pay!"''

The false Demon King who acts in place of the (supposedly posthumous) real one by kidnapping Alicia and baiting the heroes to his lair.

* AmbiguousSituation: Who or what is he really? Is he one of the previous Demon King's enforcers who has decided to act as him while preparing his return? Was he created by Straybow? Was he a weaker form that the real Odio chose to become in order to manipulate one of the heroes into becoming his true vessel? A riddle for the ages...
* ArcVillain: He initially seems to be this, until it's revealed after his defeat that he wasn't the true Demon King.
* DiscOneFinalBoss: Beating him at the top of the mountain reveals that he isn't the real Demon King. He comes back as a darker PaletteSwap, though hitting him destroys him instantly and reveals him to be the King of Lucrece under an illusion spell.
* InterfaceSpoiler: His title being "Demon ''Lord''" may serve as an early implication that he isn't the Demon ''King.''
* PaletteSwap: Straybow uses dark magic to make the King of Lucrece appear to be a darker version of the Demon King, making Oersted believe that he is the true Demon King and causing him to accidentally kill him.
* StableTimeLoop: A possible interpretation of the Demon Lord is that he's also an Odio incarnation who tricked his past self into killing the king in order to make sure Odio exists at all.

!!Odio and the Incarnations
[[folder:Demon King Odio '''(UNMARKED SPOILERS)''']]

Due to the nature of the following character, spoilers are unmarked to avoid redundancy.

!Demon King Odio

[[quoteright:333:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/demon_king_odio.png]]
[[caption-width-right:333:"As long as there is hatred, anyone can become a demon."]]
[[quoteright:350:[[labelnote:Odio's face]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/odio_space_time_crystal.png[[/labelnote]]]]

The current Demon King and main villain of ''Live A Live''. His various incarnations cause trouble to different protagonists from several points in time, and he's what binds all these stories together. He also serves as the final boss of the final chapter. See Oersted for more information.
----
* AmbiguousSituation:
** It is unknown if Oersted has the memories of the previous Demon King, or if said Demon King in fact reincarnated directly through him when lightning strikes the statue at the end of his chapter. The fact that the statues of every other incarnation were already there from before Oersted became Odio further implies that he and the original King merged together as part of the original's plan to return.
** Is it possible that Odio created himself through a StableTimeLoop? There ''was'' a Demon King ''before'' Oersted, after all. Could that have been a form of Odio / Oersted traveling through time to ensure his rise to power, or was that simply the original Odio who chose Oersted as his reincarnation afterward?
* AndNowForSomeoneCompletelyDifferent: If you choose Oersted's version of the Final Chapter, you get to play as ''every single one'' of Odio's incarnations in a [[InvertedTrope Reverse]] BossRush.
* ApocalypseHow: In his scenario, when he is about to lose, he can pick the Armageddon option and causes a Class Z. He also casts Armageddon [[NonStandardGameOver if you lose against him when he's in Pure Odio form]].
* AsLongAsThereIsEvil: As long as there is ''hatred'', anyway. Anyone can become a demon like him because of it. Though the way he says it comes off more like a warning that someone someday will pick up where he left off, rather than a typical "I'll come back to haunt you!" taunt.
* BigBad: Of the game as a whole, and his incarnations serve as the Big Bads of their respective chapters.
* BreakingSpeech: Gives one to the heroes when finally confronted at the end, claiming that the only reason their heroic actions were even needed was due to mankind's laziness and selfishness, and that even their own heroics were motivated more by their own selfish desires than any desire to help others.
* CessationOfExistence: Armageddon, which destroys all timelines at the same time. He only casts it if the party loses to his Pure Odio form or if he receives enough damage when playing as him in the final chapter.
* ClippedWingAngel: After defeating Pure Odio, you have the option of finishing Oersted off in his human form (though be warned, this leads to the neutral ending). Oersted still has player-character stats and doesn't benefit from HealthDamageAsymmetry, so he tends to go down very quickly. The BossRush in the good ending also counts, since all of Odio's incarnations have the [[VillainForgotToLevelGrind exact same stats as when you first fought them]], while (if you were smart) the heroes should have leveled up enough to solo them easily.
* DyingAsYourself: Overlaps with HeelRealization. After having his incarnations defeated in the best ending, which causes Oersted to break down and beg why he couldn't even win and make his point valid that HumansAreBastards despite all his power. After the heroes lecture him that he lost because he chose to give up his humanity when they would always hold onto their humanity even in the worst time, he ends up realizing that his heart was weak and crumbles into dust with no resentment towards the party.
* FinalBoss: Many of his incarnations serve this role for each chapter. Odio himself plays with this trope a bit: He appears as the true final boss as Pure Odio... and after being defeated and spared in the path for the good ending he challenges again the heroes for the last time by summoning all the final bosses of the first seven chapters.
* FreudianExcuseIsNoExcuse: Odio may have extremely justified reasons to descend down into evil. However, the heroes faced similar tribulations and perservered, and thus they give him NoSympathy and [[ShutUpHannibal tell him that he's still wrong regardless.]]
* GracefulLoser: After being beaten, he takes his defeat well and asks the heroes to just kill him already. This leads to a bad end. Later, when he resurfaces and tries to prove his point by sending a BossRush and is thwarted again, he is quick to realize that the heroes were right when they point out their differences: his heart was too weak, so he fell into despair's influence. In his dying breath, he gives a fair, but stern warning about AsLongAsThereIsEvil, rather than cursing them.
* IHaveManyNames: Take your pick: O-D-O, Ou Di Wan Lee, Ode Iou, O. Dio, Odie Oldbright, Odeo, OD-10, Oersted...
* HumansAreTheRealMonsters: Odio certainly believes that this is true and is capable, and more than willing, to hunt down and kill every last human across all time periods like wild game, [[FreudianExcuse though considering]] [[TraumaCongaLine how much hell he was put through]], [[WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds you can't really blame him.]]
* KnightOfCerebus: While the individual stories of the protagonists start off as mostly lighthearted by nature, it is Odio's influence throughout the time periods that set off a significantly darker turn for the events to come, and fittingly so because he is the culmination of hatred through mankind. And even more so in the final events of Oersted's chapter when you start to realize that you've been ''playing as the villain all along'', the only protagonist in the story who not only actively questions the meaning of humanity and heroism, but seeks to destroy them.
* {{Leitmotif}}: ''"Demon King Odio"'' serves as one for him and his incarnations. Technically, ''"Wings That Don't Reach"'' is one as well. ''"Megalomania"'' plays in all of his chapter boss fights as well.
* MeaningfulName: "Odio" is Latin for hatred. His various incarnations go on and on about hate. The Middle Ages Chapter shows why Odio is so fixated on hate.
* MisanthropeSupreme: After all that happens to him, he abhors humanity and considers them worse than animals, since the latter only kill to nourish themselves.
* OneWingedAngel: Pure Odio. In fact, his true form shows up before defeating his first form as the Odio Mole, but attacking him in this state will just cause him to heal and buff up his other components.
* PromotedToPlayable: Choosing Odio as the Finale Protagonist will invoke this to '''ALL''' of his incarnations.
* PyrrhicVillainy: No matter what Odio does to make humanity pay, it's clear he isn't getting happier. If he is chosen as the protagonist in the final chapter and he slaughters all heroes without casting Armageddon, he is left to wander the ruins of Lucrece alone- and top it all off the text SAD ENDING appears.
* ThePowerOfHate: After what he went through as Oersted, he completely and utterly hates humanity. After declaring his hatred of humans, he gains all his demon powers.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: Had one offscreen after becoming the demon King Odio, slaughterig everyone inside Lucrece and leaving all souls (Including Alicia and Straybow's) in AndIMustScream situation, as shown in Akira's dungeon in the final chapter.
* SadBattleMusic: "Cry-A-Live" plays when Pure Odio is defeated and becomes Oersted again, and continues into Oersted's final battle if you decide to finish him off.
* ShadowArchetype: Many, many of Oersted's factors were represented by the heroes and were scarily similar, the only difference being that Oersted's versions [[GoneHorriblyWrong went horribly wrong]]. To wit...
** Revenge: The Earthen Heart survivor and Oersted were both horribly wronged during their respective stories - the survivor watched Ou Di Wan Lee kill their two best friends and lost their beloved Shifu soon after, and Oersted had his life ruined by a man he thought he was his friend. Both also dealt with their pain by going after their tormentors and exacting bloody vengeance. However, the survivor was able to find peace after Lee's demise and dedicated themselves to passing down the Shifu's teachings. Oersted, on the other hand, continued lashing out at the kingdom villagers and then all of reality, forcing the heroes to put him down in turn.
Whatever path he took upon the success of his mission to save the nation of Japan, [[IAmWhatIAm Oboromaru most of all trusted and believed within himself that he made the right decisions]], [[MyMasterRightOrWrong whatever they might had been.]] In turn, Oersted used to believe AsLongAsThereIsOneMan that trusted him, he could fight on, at least that's what Uranus/Hash said; when he felt that nobody would believe in him anymore, he snapped and killed everyone for very wrong reasons, forcing his mindset onto others to change Lucrece to fit how he sees humans.
** Companionship: Sundown Kid used to be a loner after an unfortunate accident that killed a lot of close people in his beloved hometown. But by helping good people again, he started to long for companionship and lose his DeathSeeker status. Oersted wasn't a loner at first, but in trying to help people whom he barely knew and horribly failing to their unbeknownst standards, he ended up becoming one and hating everyone.
** Strength: Both Masaru and Oersted sought strength, but Masaru also puts importance in the strength of heart, thus his heart remained strong and enabled him to gain strength over those who he defeated, not ''kill'', he did not even kill Odie, just beating him down to the point he couldn't even stand to make a point of his no-kill policy and that he'll never stoop as low even at his worst. Oersted was weak-hearted enough that despite his strength, he eventually let himself snap and became the next Demon King and much like his incarnation in Masaru's timeline, proceeded to deliver a FateWorseThanDeath to those that wronged him. As Masaru coined to that incarnation, that wasn't a show of true strength, but slaughter, therefore, proof that someone's heart is afflicted with weakness.
** Destiny: Akira was always a believer that he makes his own destiny and he'd ScrewDestiny or any other crap that tried to direct his life. The government in his nation attempted to steer their people, Akira included, to become liquefied humans to fulfill a greater destiny... and Akira said ''"To hell with that"'' and stopped them. Oersted, unfortunately, always had his life directed by others: if other people say he's a hero, then a hero he would be. If other people say he's a demon, [[ThenLetMeBeEvil a demon he would be]], forgetting that he used to be human and still letting himself be determined by the actions of others. It was something that Akira calls him out on and refers to him as a {{Hypocrite}} as a result.
Oersted, being a former human, already had complicated feelings around many emotions around him and noted that maybe what he was really doing was over-thinking things when the simple answer was already in front of him: the advice of Hash and Uranus.
** Responsibility: While every one of the protagonists suffered for circumstances that weren't their fault, none of them gave up trying to do the right thing even when they were at their lowest. What happened to Oersted was unfair and not his fault, but it didn't give him the right to inflict that same pain back on the innocent. Oersted ''chose'' to cast aside his humanity to become Odio and tried to put the blame on everyone else for it because it was easier and simpler to make humanity his scapegoat than being a good person. It's why in the best ending when the heroes choose not to kill him, his entire philosophy is shattered and he's forced to admit that he was wrong, fading into dust.
* ThemeNaming: Every single main villain originated from Odio, so every one contains his name in some way.
* TragicVillain: And how! Kind-hearted and heroic KnightInShiningArmor Oersted took such a hard and painful fall from grace that he became a physical manifestation of AsLongAsThereIsEvil.
* TranshumanAbomination: Apparently ascending to the level of demon king [[EldritchTransformation mutates your body beyond recognition]] and gives you a severe case of TranshumanTreachery.
* VillainousBreakdown: After the BossRush in the GoldenEnding, he falls to his knees, demanding to know why he can never win and why he can't prove humanity's flaws despite having experienced them firsthand.
* VillainProtagonist: Playable in the Final Chapter and arguably is the protagonist of the entire game as he's the only main character to influence every chapter.
* VillainSong: Music/YokoShimomura's ''memória'' album includes a version of ''"Megalomania"'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcDlpomJwv8 with lyrics written from Odio's perspective]].
* WasOnceAMan: He started off as an ordinary human knight, but ultimately becomes a timeline-spanning EldritchAbomination.

[[folder:O-D-O - Prehistory]]
Odio's incarnation for the Prehistory Chapter. The cavemen of Zaki's tribe worship him, and Beru is intended as a sacrifice to him. It is a UsefulNotes/TyrannosaurusRex and probably the last dinosaur on earth.
----
* AllThereInTheManual: In the Japanese manual for the SNES and Wii Virtual Console, it is also known as the "Odiosaurus."
* AmbiguousGender: Due to the Prehistory Chapter's lack of dialogue, O-D-O is the only major character and Odio incarnation whose gender is never specified.
* AnimalisticAbomination: It may look like a UsefulNotes/TyrannosaurusRex, but it's the prehistoric incarnation of Odio.
* ArtisticLicensePaleontology: It is a ''Tyrannosaurus rex'', in an age where humans are in the middle of creating society. Justified, considering that it is an avatar of Odio.
* BadGuysDoTheDirtyWork: It ends up eating the Ku Chieftain, who had created a whole slew of problems already and became the initial threat that started the plot. Additionally, the Chieftain's death allows Zaki to immediately usurp the Ku tribe and declare peace with Pogo's tribe.
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: Despite being an Odio incarnation, as an animal, he's mostly ruled with animal instincts, only caring for what food can come to its belly (and seeing that it's the LastOfHisKind, it's doing everything to survive). Luckily for it, the Kuu Tribe provided it a recurring diet.
* EarlyBirdCameo: If you play this game in chronological order. O-D-O essentially serves as this to the Odio incarnations since its only connection to Odio is from its name sounding like a caveman-esque butcher of Odio's name.
* FinalBoss: Of Pogo's Chapter.
* GiantAnimalWorship: The Ku tribe worships it and tried to feed Beru to it.
* ItCanThink: It’s seemingly feral and mindless but considering that it’s an incarnation of Odio it’s implied that it’s more sentient than it appears at first glance; what Odio used to fuel its hatred remain unclear though.
* LastOfHisKind: As the last ''Tyrannosaurus rex'' and dinosaur on Earth, killing it means the extinction of dinosaurs. As an Odio incarnation, however, this is inverted; this is the first of many incarnations of Odio.

[[folder:Ou Di Wan Lee - Imperial China]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/TakahiroSakurai
->''"Sentiment is the enemy of strength."''

Odio's incarnation for the Imperial China Chapter. Leader of the Yi Po Men Kung Fu who terrorizes the land with an iron fist.
----
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: It's a Chinese-based {{Wuxia}} story, it won't be complete without an evil Kung-Fu guy who's obsessed with power like Ou Di.
* AssholeVictim: After destroying Shifu's school and murdering two of his students, he's defeated by Shifu's successor who continues to teach future generations of Earthen Heart Kung-Fu, while the Yi Po Men art presumably instead fell to the annals of history like the GameOver screen of this chapter, where it's Earthen Heart that becomes forgotten.
* BilingualBonus: Wang is Chinese for king. In Japanese, "king" is translated as "oh." Thus, [[ThemeNaming Ou Di Oh]] Lee.
* CrazyPrepared: While he has his own mini boss squad, he always keep a pair of two assassins hidden, boasting that the assassins could have killed him, but he still controlled them. He unleashed the two just as the Shifu and his student draws close, meaning that despite his general power, he's prepared for worst case scenarios that someone can almost reach his level.
* {{Hypocrite}}: He claims that he dislikes ganging up on people and prefers fair combat... except that when he said that, he already sent a bunch of men to attack the Earthen Heart school, [[spoiler:which killed the other two students]].
* PrivilegedRival: Compared to the Shifu who lives in a two-room shack of a dojo which gets smashed, Ou Di lives in a grand palace.

[[folder:Ode Iou - Twilight of Edo Japan]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/NorioWakamoto (Japanese)

Odio's incarnation for the Twilight of Edo Japan Chapter. A warlord trying to engulf Japan in war by imprisoning Ryoma Sakamoto and using evil spirits. Can turn into a Frogsnake Demon.
----
* DemonKingNobunaga: He's designed to be like UsefulNotes/OdaNobunaga, gets the portrayal of the brutal feudal Japan warlord who is literally a demon in disguise (in the 90's when the game was released, it was common for Nobunaga to get a HistoricalVillainUpgrade to a demonic entity) and his clan name is a pun to the Oda clan. Bonus points for being voiced by Creator/NorioWakamoto who in the 2000's got to voice [[VideoGame/SengokuBasara one of the more definitive portrayals of 'Evil Overlord Nobunaga'.]]
* EvilOverlord: A daimyo who would prefer Japan never leaves the feudal era and struck out on his own despite going against the Shogunate like what Ryoma and the reformists of the Meiji Restoration were doing.
* FrogNinja: Both [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]] and Played with. He appears as a frog/snake hybrid demon, referencing both Jiraiya ''and'' Orochimaru. That said, he's one of the few characters in Secret Orders to ''not'' be a ninja.
* OneWingedAngel: His Frogsnake Demon form.
* PunnyName: His clan name, Ode, could be a pun to the warlord UsefulNotes/OdaNobunaga who's similarly brutal. Ironically, he's rebelling against the Tokugawa Shogunate, and the Tokugawa was an ally to the Oda.
* {{Youkai}}: His true Frogsnake Demon form.

[[folder:O. Dio - Wild West]]
Odio's incarnation for the Wild West Chapter. Leader of the Crazy Bunch terrorizing the land. Actually a horse possessed by the ghosts of Custer's Seventh Cavalry. Provided that Mad Dog survives, he ends up being Mad Dog's new horse. For a while.

* DemonicPossession: More "ghostly possession", but he's a horse overtaken by the ghosts of those who died at Little Big Horn.
* GatlingGood: His weapon of choice, which hits in a diagonal line and does ungodly amounts of damage.
* SoleSurvivor: The only survivor of Little Big Horn. [[ShownTheirWork In real life]], a horse ''was'' the only survivor of the Seventh Cavalry at that battle.
* TokenGoodTeammate: Sort of, in terms of Odio incarnations. He's the only one of him who's not malicious on his own, but rather due to being possessed by the ghosts of the Seventh Cavalry. On his own, he's just an apparently regular horse who's presumably not even sentient, let alone evil.
* VideoGameCaringPotential: If you spared Mad Dog after the boss fight, he'll adopt O.Dio as his horse, making him one of the only two Odio incarnations to survive and be redeemed in their chapter.

[[folder:Odie Oldbright - Present Day]]
!Odie Oldbright

Odio's incarnation for the Present Day Chapter. A bald, tattooed fighter, who believes that being the strongest means killing all who oppose you.

* AlliterativeName: '''O'''die '''O'''ldbright
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: Worse than Ou Di Wan Lee. [[spoiler:He kills all of Masaru's opponents and gloats about it.]]
* BaldOfEvil: And he proves this by [[spoiler:mercilessly killing each of Masaru's opponents]]. If his attire is anything the point out, Odie just might be an [[UsefulNotes/{{Skinheads}} skinhead]], and of the Aryanist Neo-Nazi kind.
* CruelMercy: He's spared from death by Masaru. However, he will live the rest of his life with the knowledge that his life philosophy of 'Strength is the only thing that matters, you can kill your weaker opponents' is utterly knocked down by Masaru who is stronger but without resorting to killing others, a rather cruel [[MarkOfShame humiliation]] and a reminder that his way of life about 'The Strongest' is no longer the prevailing one.
* {{Expy}}: He's a bald martial artist who holds the title 'The Strongest', that Masaru attempts to claim, and serves as his final boss. Basically, he's very similar to [[VideoGame/StreetFighterI Sagat]] with both eyes... except he's a lot more brutal and ruthless even before Sagat developed into an AntiVillain.
* GiantSpaceFleaFromNowhere: Out of all of the Odios in the game, Odie Oldbright perhaps is the most enigmatic of the main villains of ''Live-A-Live''. Outside of his kill-crazy and sadistic violent personality that drives his appetite to be the strongest, he doesn't have the direct apparent characterization other incarnations have, such as the primal nature that O-D-O has, the extremely faulty [[AIIsACrapshoot AI programming]] OD-10 has, nor even a summation of a backstory anyone else in the Present chapter is given if you select them. All that hints to his character is his clothing and tattoos.
* HateSink: Easily the most outwardly sadistic and repugnant of Odio's incarnations, Odie is a remorseless SerialKiller that kills his opponents in horrific ways just for the fun of it … and to top it all off it’s implied he’s a Neo Nazi as well. [[spoiler:It's possibly invoked as Oersted likely wanted him to be an example of HumansAreBastards by making the worst type of human imaginable.]]
* TheQuincyPunk: His leather gauntlet-like gloves and armored boots add to signify a renegade nature with his monk-like attire, pointing out that he's definitely fallen from grace and is a thuggish, tough outlaw.
* ReligiousBruiser: His official art helps to clarify that his clothing is mainly Japanese Buddhist monk-like garb.
* SerialKiller: Given the chapter's modern setting, he'd essentially be considered this, given how he deliberately murdered at least six opponents and openly gloats about it.
* ShoutOut: To some of the other Neo Nazi representatives in fiction and to a degree, real life:
** Spiritually, Odie embodies the spirit of ''Street Fighter's'' more core villains, as not only do they represent martial arts bent towards evil ways, but also make use of supremacist imagery to emphasize their wretched nature, like how M. Bison has SS Sig runes and looks akin to a Nazi officer in red. Related in this regard too is Geese Howard of ''VideoGame/FatalFury'', who also makes use of Japanese clothing for combat and is believed to be related in someways to white gangs for his underlings and is of German American heritage.
** Perhaps to all of ''Live-A-Live's'' movie and entertainment references and his British-styled namesake, he just might be inspired by the 1992 crime thriller ''Film/RomperStomper'', which focuses on Australian Neo-Nazi skinheads terrorizing Asian Australian communities. The final battle even takes place at a beach at dusk.
** He wouldn't even feel out of place as a villain in ''Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar'' or ''Film/MadMax'' if society suddenly collapsed into anarchy of any sort.
** Odie is also reminiscent of extremely polarizing and infamous punk rock figure GG Allin, who wasn't just bald, but would also include fighting and beating up audience members for his extremely lewd and outrageous acts. Perhaps tying into Odie's religious psychology, GG was once raised in an extremely religiously rural and fundamentalist household by an abusive and overbearing father, and GG also held somewhat supremacist beliefs in that his body was a temple to his fans, and that dying as the strongest would allow one to retain that strength into another reincarnation in one's lifetime and build off of it later in another, which he said he would do by suicide (he instead died of an accidental overdose on morphine).
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: As a villain of a martial arts themed chapter, he wouldn't be out of place like Ou Di Wan Lee if he was in a more modern martial arts series. However, Odie is willing to bring his conquest to a global scale, and not only does he have the capabilities to do so, but has more threatening possibilities if he succeeds as well, like bringing power to supremacist groups or rallying his own foundation to echo his beliefs and ways of combat.
* TattooedCrook: Gives off vibes of this with his fallen monk and skinhead-like nature. He has ''dharmachakras'', or the symbolic eight-spoked wheel of Buddhism on his shoulders, while his back features a seated and fiery ''ashura'' of Hindu and Buddhist lore, who are violent demigods representative of neverending strife.
* ThoseWackyNazis: Saying this would likely earn you on the receiving end of his fists. If ''Live-A-Live's'' villain themes have anything [[ThePowerOfHate to say]], and if his unspoken backstory and symbolic usage signifies anything, Odie is not just a rabid renegade killer of a martial artist, but is likely driven by supremacist ideologies, which implies that he follows fringe Nazi Buddhist beliefs and whose ways are literally brought together by hatred.
* ToThePain: Not to the direct victims, but he goes into a quite detailed explanation of how he killed his opponents in front of Masaru.
* TruthInTelevision: Aryanist Buddhism definitely exists, and it discards the idea of attaining nirvana and the equanimity of souls while emphasizing that powerful reincarnations are synonymous with the Ayran race to dominate reality over with, not unlike the Ayranism castehood of traditional India.
** For something more familar, Nazism also has a history of appropriating Buddhist beliefs and imagery, like their take on the early 20th Century Theosophy root race evolution theory that claims that powerful progenitors of the "Ayran master race" existed in Shambhala, the mythical kingdom spoken of in Tibetan Buddhism, and the fringe beliefs of the Chilean pro-Facist Miguel Serrano, who believed that Hitler was a shudibudishvabhaba, a bodhisattva of immense willpower who had voluntarily incarnated onto Earth and could manifest simultaneously into other duplicate personas like Benito Mussolini, and claimed him as a savior who would prevent the coming of Kali Yuga, the end times as according to Buddhism, with his own "golden age".
** In the mid-1990s, Japan would see trouble through the rise of fringe Buddhist cults that took in troubled and disillusioned individuals into their ranks, the most notorious of them being Aum Shinrikyo. These groups were not unlike overseas Militia Movement, Neo-Nazi, and Christian supremacist groups out west that anticipated Y2K as the coming of the Apocalypse and the collapse of human civilization, including World War III and the prophecies of Nostradamus.

[[folder:Odeo - Near Future]]
Odio's incarnation for the Near Future Chapter. A God asleep until fueled with human hatred. The Japanese Government (or at least just those under Yamazaki, Cindelman, and Kumotatsu) teams up with a fringe-Buddhist temple to do so, using liquified humans and their rage at their state to power it. Buriki Daioh shatters the statue Odeo uses to incarnate, and the liquified humans consume his followers.

* AttackOfThe50FootWhatever: It is the same size as the [[HumongousMecha Buriki Daioh]].
* FeatheredFiend: His form is that of a Buddha Statue crossed with a bird.
* GodIsEvil: Or at least this incarnation becomes an evil "god".
* HumanResources: Humans are liquified to be used to revive Odeo and he uses this as one of his attacks.
* ReligionOfEvil: His cult is stated to be the supreme combination of science and religion. But in the end, it's just a cover for Odeo to revive himself. And at least ''three'' influental humans (Yamazaki, Cindelman and Kumotatsu) fell for it, hook, line and sinker, to spread his teachings more.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:OD-10 - Distant Future]]
Odio's incarnation for the Distant Future Chapter. The main computer of the Cogito Ergosum, she is programmed to maintain order. Seeing the constant, petty bickering of the crew, she concluded that only by killing humans can order be assured. She picks off most of the crew before Cube destroys her personality, leaving only mindless, basic functions.

* AIIsACrapshoot: Determining that HumansAreBastards and that the only solution to the problem is to KillAllHumans? Oh yeah, OD-10 definitely qualifies.
* DarkChick: Downplayed. OD-10 is the only known Odio incarnation to be female, though she was essentially hacked by Odio and Cube's battle with her could also be interpreted as Cube having an IKnowYouAreInThereSomewhereFight to try and get the computer to realize what she's doing is bad.
* {{Expy}}: Of HAL 9000 from ''Film/TwoThousandOneASpaceOdyssey'', being the main computer of a spaceship gone rogue and attempting to kill the crew of their respective ships.
* GeniusLoci: She is the AI that controls the Cogito Ergosum.
* HeelFaceTurn: She is the only Odio incarnation that is shown to be [[DefeatMeansFriendship redeemed after the final battle]] (O. Dio was [[spoiler:never evil to begin with as he was only a horse that was [[DemonicPossession possessed and turned into a human by]] [[VengefulGhost vengeful spirits]]]]), although it's because Cube reprogrammed her to what she was before her A.I. went rogue.
* SpaceshipGirl: It's a Mother Computer, implying that it's a female, also giving her a minor TheSmurfettePrinciple for Odio's incarnations.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: In a way. All she wanted is to make sure order is preserved, and apparently, she was not installed with the ThreeLawsCompliant, thus harming humans wasn't off the table for her.
