General clarification on works content - Deleted the Kick The Dog entry from Wells' section for misinformation. Wells wasn't lookin for an excuse to expell Chloe, he had good reason to. She was a problem student and had already been given multiple chances to redeem herself for prior infractions. Wells even lists several of them, from disrupting class, to being caught with marajuana on campus. All of which he had shown her leniency for with the understanding that her next offense would be the last straw. Chloe knew he was on thin ice and still chose to cut class with Rachel, so Chloe brought the expulsion on herself.

* KickTheDog: In ''Before the Storm'', the opening scene of the second episode makes it clear why Chloe dislikes him in the original game. [[spoiler: He'll basically shift the blame for bullying Nathan onto Chloe (whether she tried to help or just stood by and watched), punishes Rachel disproportionately (for a first offence) when she tries to take the blame for skipping school and will expel Chloe regardless of dialogue options. All with the implication that he's been looking for an excuse to do so.]]

* EstablishingCharacterMoment: In his introduction, he asks Chloe for her opinion of his band's demo tape. This is [[TheFoil quite a different guy]] from Blackwell's future head of security.
* Foil: Skip is nice, laid back, and not very attentive, all of which mark him as the exact opposite of his successor, the militant David.

* EccentricMentor: He is truly wise beneath his quirky exterior, and often gives sage advice to those who talk to him.

Added DiffLines:

* ProverbialWisdom: He is something of a wise sage who gives the characters some deep life advice. He also tends to speak in a very poetic way, often using cryptic metaphors.

* BlackAndNerdy: In addition to being the science teacher, she's also something of a history buff when it comes to the school.

Added DiffLines:

* RedHerring: He's the most obviously weird person in Blackwell, so many players will quickly turn their suspicions on him unless they think he's ''too'' obvious a suspect. He's ultimately just a harmless eccentric.

* DoomedByCanon: Considering the events of the story, Skip will ultimately leave his job one way or another since David is chief of security during the first game. In Episode 2, he can up and quit if Chloe fails a Backtalk challenge with him, causing him to be annoyed by people abusing his charity. Alternatively, his band [=PissHead=] will pick up and he'll be able to quit his day job, which it at least ''did'' in the alternate timeline, as a [=PissHead=] poster appears there.

* ForegoneConclusion: We know that Skip will leave his position as head of security because that position is held by David in the future. Luckily for him, his band seems to become successful in all the timelines we see.

Added DiffLines:

* {{Foil}}: In a very interesting way, he's one to Mark Jefferson. Both share the same [[Creator/DerekPhillips voice actor]], and have a roughly similar appearance: bespectacled, bearded middle-aged men. However, while Samuel is a kindhearted and gentle man who appears as a creepy off-putting janitor and is treated by many with contempt, Jefferson is a highly popular and influental member of the Blackwell faculty [[spoiler: whose MaskOfSanity conceals a far worse kind of insanity.]]

Added DiffLines:

* NamedAfterSomeoneFamous: His most likely is Creator/SamuelTaylorColeridge, the English poet best known for combining both natural and supernatural in his stories, as well as coining the concept of "suspension of disbelief".
