* SmallRoleBigImpact: He only appears in small portions of Volumes 6 & 7, with nobody aside from his contractor and Vanir even aware of his existence, but his manipulations resulted in Kazuma's party suffering a crushing debt and nearly losing Darkness.

* AbhorrentAdmirer: Darkness is understandably creeped out by [[DirtyOldMan him]].

* DevilInPlainSight: He makes little effort to hide how unpleasant he is, but even so, there isn't much anyone can do as there is no evidence regarding any wrong doing coming from him. Not even unpleasant rumors.

* DirtyOldMan: He leers at and flirts with Darkness. He later has a magic mirror set up so he can watch her bath.

* EvilCounterpart: To Kazuma. To wit, both are very cunning and underhanded, [[BornLucky tend to have a lot of luck on their side]] and their list of vices is nearly identical. The key differences are that Kazuma generally knows the difference between slapstick and abuse, and never knowingly crosses that line, he would ''never'' [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil force himself on a woman against her will]], and despite having a history of using his companions as monster bait, actually treasures them dearly. So much so that he was willing to pay a whopping 2 ''billion'' eris ransom in order to free Darkness from her ArrangedMarriage. Lord Alderp not only used up women and threw them away when he got bored with them, giving them a token "divorce" payment, but when he found himself in trouble with Maxwell, tried to sacrifice his loyal staff and retainers without a second thought, purely to save himself.
* EvilOldFolks: He's elderly, and highly unpleasant.
