* CatsAreSuperior: Hyness is a cat-like alien, the leader of the Jambastion cult, and the BigBad of the game.

* EvilOldFolk: Hyness' raspy, high-pitched voice, coupled with the fact that he's been around before the first ever game in the series, certainly places him in this category. He's also the BigBad of ''Star Allies.''

* VileVillainSaccharineShow: He's more or less the most evil villain in the franchise thus far, abusing his followers and desiring to [[spoiler:summon his dark god to bring forth the end of everything]]. [[spoiler:"Heroes in Another Dimension" puts his morality in another light, implying that he used to be more benevolent and lost his mind over time; unlike past "corrupted" villains like Queen Sectonia and President Haltmann, he not only lives but gets ''redeemed'' in the good ending of the mode.]]

* VileVillainSacchraineShow: Because ''Kirby'' final bosses certainly can't get any darker than the literal Destroyer of Worlds himself.

* RoyalRapier: She can convert her staves into rapiers to stab with.

* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: A powerful magic user, and a capable fighter. Also the queen of Floralia.

* LargeAndInCharge: She is much larger than her subjects. She also, predictably, [[AuthorityEqualsAsskicking is the strongest of them]].

* HurtingHero: Implied by the end of his character trailer for ''Star Allies''. After summoning a shadowy copy of [[TheLostLenore Queen Sectonia]] to blast the area with lightning, the music fades out as he dashes and leaps at it only for her to vanish before he can reach her. He then starts wiping what is implied to be tears from his eyes before moving onward.

* EvilVersusOblivion: His Japanese Guest Star pause screen in ''Kirby Star Allies'' contains the line "drawn out by the galaxy's distant darkness, the Mirror World's dark shadow flies". This is notably a parallel to Meta Knight's Guest Star pause screen, which contains the line "sensing the distant darkness, this mysterious knight flies". Both lines seem to allude to [[spoiler:Hyness's attempts to summon Void Termina]]; it suggests that Dark Meta Knight, while still unabashedly evil, shares his moral code with Meta Knight.

* TokenEvilTeammate: The second outright villain to be a Dream Friend in ''Star Allies'', after Marx. The cosmic jester at least [[FauxAffablyEvil has the ability]] [[ReformedButNotTamed to act civil and friendly]], but Dark Meta Knight is grudgingly cooperating at best, even while redeemed by the Friend Heart. It's implied he only works with Kirby for his own purposes, but whether that's to take the Jamba Hearts for himself or to find a new villain to serve depends on [[DubInducedPlotHole the localization]].

* WalkingSpoiler: Naturally, being one of the {{Bonus Boss}}es in an extra mode.

* WickedHeartSymbol: Hyness' hood bears the same crest shown on the Three Generals' hats, as well as Pon & Con's [[spoiler:and Void Termina's]] armor. He plays the "Wicked" part to unnaturally terrifying levels, being an AxCrazy SinisterMinister who treats his mages like weapons wants to bring about [[spoiler:''the end of days by reviving a GodOfEvil.'']]

* WickedHeartSymbol: Hyness' hood bears the same crest shown on the Three Generals' hats, as well as Pon & Con's [[spoiler:and Void Termina's]] armor.

* ShockAndAwe: One of her attacks has her fire black lightning at Kirby from her gold scepter.

* GoldAndWhiteAreDivine: Possibly an intentional choice on his part, seeing as how in the original JP script, he referred to [[spoiler:Void Termina]] as ''God'' instead of Dark Lord.

* ElementalHairColors: Their hair colors match their ColorCodedElements and clothes (yellow for the zappy Zan Partizanne, red for the fiery Flamberge, and blue for the frosty Francisca.)

* FormalCharactersSpeakKeigo: Francisca's dialogue in the Japanese version never slips out of formal Japanese, [[SoftSpokenSadist even as she's threatening to freeze Kirby into a block of ice]].

* WaterIsWomanly: While mainly AnIcePerson, Francisca is also associated with water through her watery-blue hair and soda gun, and fittingly her personality has a more gentle, feminine touch to it, complete with {{Keigo}} speech in Japanese and {{giggling|Villain}}, unlike the more aggressive attitudes of Zan Partizanne and Flamberge. However, this is actually a FauxAffablyEvil persona, with her being a SoftSpokenSadist who engages in [[CollectorOfTheStrange collecting people she freezes alive]] and threatens Kirby in a very calm and polite tone.

* RhymesOnADime: The descriptions of his phase one and three make up the lyrics to an ominous VillainSong urging [[OmnicidalManiac onmicide]].

* VillainSong: The ''Song of Supplication'', which he shares with the Mage-Sisters. While the song is never sung out loud, lyrics appear on the first and third forms' pause screens (though it's unclear if these verses are to be added to ''Song of Supplication'' or if they're exclusive to the ''Star-Conquering Traveler'' version of the song).

* DarkIsEvil: Downplayed in his debut. In spite of being Sectonia's number two, he's not truly as bad as his boss and was only opposing Kirby out of duty. He then plays this straight in ''Team Kirby Clash Deluxe,'' where he not only becomes the BigBad, but also gets a new red, black and purple color scheme to go with it.

* DemotedToExtra: He's still fought in ''Super Kirby Clash'', but due to the removal of the Black Mirror, he doesn't have relevance beyond being a RedHerring for Parallel Nightmare.

** His destructive nature across the universe would end up causing the ancients to create a lot of the artifacts throughout the franchise, like the Galactic Novas and the Master Crown, which would end up causing both Marx and Magolor’s desires to use their power and the plots of both ''Super Star'' and ''Return to Dreamland''.

** A decently popular fan theory proposes that Void is [[spoiler:reborn as the original Kirby after his defeat in a StableTimeLoop, which if true would make Void responsible for the events of ''every prior game''.]]

* BladeOnAStick: Zan Partizanne's weapon is an electrified spear.

* StockholmSyndrome: They all have UndyingLoyalty to Hyness, even though he abuses them constantly and shows no care for their well being. [[spoiler:Their (individual) bios in the Ultimate Choice's Soul Melter Extra difficulty showed that they became loyal to him (after [[BecauseYouWereNiceToMe he saved their lives]]) ''before'' he went insane - and still stayed loyal after that.]]

* SpontaneousWeaponCreation: He has the power to call forth giant [[ElementalWeapon elemental bows]], [[BladeOnAStick spears]], axes, swords, and a laser-spamming [[VideoGame/KirbysReturnToDreamLand Master Crown]].

** There are certain indications that Dark Mind is also related to the Dark Matter forces, from the similar name and form of a corrupting spherical eyeball creature giving it a resemblance to Zero which could also make him serve as the counterpart to the Dark Matters' leader, and that's without mentioning the similarities to [[spoiler:Astral Birth Void who uses Dark Mind's mirror techniques (accompanied by Void being wreathed in flame like Dark Mind was), which implies that Dark Mind is also a Void reincarnation of some kind on top of all things.]]

** Last but most ''certainly'' not least, you cannot explain why Void is the GreaterScopeVillain without mentioning the absolute WhamLine that is the Japanese, Chinese and Korean pause descriptions, which reveals Void is the source of everything in the Kirby universe. Dark Matter, the primary villainous faction who are implied to be connected to countless villains, and even Kirby himself, are all Void’s reincarnations, which makes Void responsible for every single game since the very first Dream Land.

** Void's 2nd phase ups the ante, as he is stated to be the multiversal, the origin of all types of matter and a combination of "all chaos and possibilities", with the implication being that he is the Kirby universe's creator figure and potentially the oldest and/or most powerful being in its canon. Given that its implied reincarnations tend to all also be beings of godlike power, this implication holds weight.

* {{Reincarnation}}: The description for Void Soul suggests that he reincarnates depending on what energies were used to summon him. Additionally, the names of the second and fourth movements of his theme, along with the BossSubtitles of his true form, "Astral Birth", implies that Void Termina as seen during the main story hadn't fully reincarnated, likely due to Hyness screwing up the ritual.

* TokenGoodTeammate: Of the Wave 3 Dream Friends in ''Star Allies.'' Both [[VideoGame/KirbysReturnToDreamLand Magolor]] and [[VideoGame/KirbyPlanetRobobot Susie]] are ReformedButNotTamed in their own ways: Magolor, despe pulling a HeelFaceTurn [[spoiler:after fighting his way through the depths of Another Dimension and destroying the [[ArtifactOfDoom Master Crown]]]] and making up for the events of ''Return to Dream Land'' by making an amusement park for Kirby, is TheGadfly and a trickster, [[spoiler:with the Magolor Soul fight in ''Deluxe's'' True Arena revealing that he harbors some resentment towards Kirby,]] while Susie is FauxAffablyEvil and the TokenEvilTeammate who is the only one of the three to ''not'' turn good, still intent on reviving the Haltmann Works Company. Taranza, meanwhile, is a PunchClockVillain and is the only one who is more or less fully turned good.
