Sub-games are actually another word for mini-games in the series, as in Megaton Punch and Samurai Kirby, not one for one of the main game options in Kirby Super Star (Ultra).

[[caption-width-right:271:From left to right: Storo, Daroach, Doc, and Spinni. Behind them are the Squeakers.]]

-> First appearance: ''[[VideoGame/KirbySqueakSquad Kirby: Squeak Squad]]''

A group of mouse bandits traveling the universe in search of treasure, the Squeaks (aka the "Squeak Squad") are the main antagonists and titular characters of ''Kirby: Squeak Squad''. Daroach is [[BigBad the leader]], Spinni is the speed, Storo is [[TheBrute the muscle]], Doc is [[EvilGenius the brains]], and the Squeakers are the {{Mook}}s and {{Team Pet}}s. Once the misunderstanding is cleared up and [[spoiler:Kirby saves their leader, Daroach from Dark Nebula]], they immediately become allied with Kirby in the game after: ''Kirby: Mass Attack''
----
* AdorableEvilMinions: The Squeakers.
* AnIcePerson: Daroach fires freezing beams from his [[FreezeRay fancy cane]].
* AstralFinale: [[spoiler:Dark Daroach, as the penultimate boss, is fought at the end of Gamble Galaxy.]]
* BadassCape: Daroach wears one. No, the cute little bell does not diminish the effect; why do you ask?
* BadassesWearBandanas: Storo wears a red bandana and he's the designated "tough guy".
* BanditMook: Both the Squeakers and the minibosses themselves can make Kirby lose the chest he took and then take it away to their hideout. Should it happen, Kirby has to hit them to take it back.
* BigEater: Storo likes eating a lot. The minigame for him is even about a speed-eating contest against Kirby.
* BreakingTheFourthWall: Daroach in ''Mass Attack'' would sometimes say that "Nintendo 3DS is worth its weight in gold", or that you should charge your DS if it gives red light.
* TheCameo: They appear as stickers in ''Planet Robobot''. Daroach also appears as one of Whip Kirby's unlockable costumes in ''Battle Royale''.
* TheCasanova: In ''Mass Attack'', Daroach mentions having a history of stealing the hearts of ladies.
* CoolAirship: In ''Mass Attack'' they're shown to have an airship as their base.
* CoolShades: Spinni wears a pair of triangular ones a la [[Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann Kamina]].
* DemonicPossession: [[spoiler:Daroach gets possessed by Dark Nebula when he opens a mysterious chest, turning him into Dark Daroach. [[TransformationOfThePossessed He gets a]] [[GoodColorsEvilColors darker color scheme]], his fur gets a bit scruffy, his claws grow longer, and he [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking wears a cowbell]]. He turns back normal after [[BeatTheCurseOutOfHim Kirby beats him]].]]
* DoubleJump: Spinni can jump multiple times in the air.
* DropTheHammer: Storo's WeaponOfChoice is a hammer.
* DubNameChange: Dorocche to Daroach, Spin to Spinni, Stron to Storo, and Chūrin to Squeakers.
* EyepatchOfPower: Storo wears an eyepatch.
* FatBastard: Storo is very fat and evil.
* FloatingLimbs: Daroach has these, although curiously, the other Squeaks do not.
* FrickinLaserBeams: Doc can fire lasers out of his FlyingSaucer. Sometimes, after he's defeated, he'll drop a laser cannon that can be inhaled for the Laser ability.
* FlyingSaucer: Doc mainly fights with one, which can be inhaled (after he's defeated) for the UFO ability. He also has a different one which turns into a fake Kracko as the World 3's boss.
* GangOfHats: They're an all-rodent gang and they all wear red.
* GentlemanThief: Daroach, complete with a top hat and a thirst for treasure chests. He lampshades this in some of his hints in ''Mass Attack''.
* HeelFaceTurn: They stop antagonizing Kirby at the end of ''Squeak Squad'', and they help Kirby out in ''VideoGame/KirbyMassAttack''.
* HiddenDepths: If you talk to him long enough in ''Kirby Mass Attack'', Daroach will eventually tell you things about himself and his cohorts. To wit:
** Doc is a GadgeteerGenius who loves inventing things.
** Spinni is a treasure hunter.
** Storo is actually a GentleGiant.
** The Squeakers work as Daroach's field agents.
* InexplicablyTailless: They're all mice or mouse-like creatures, yet nobody has more than a little stub of a tail; Daroach and Storo are completely tailless.
* MagicStaff: Aside from Daroach's cane that shoots ice beams, there's also his Triple Star, which shoots a SpreadShot of stars that Kirby can inhale. [[spoiler:It also becomes this game's EleventhHourSuperpower after you defeat Dark Daroach.]]
* MetalSlime: Their mini-game ''Kirby Quest'' from the medal sub quest has Daroach appearing as an enemy. He'll flee after a few turns, but if the Kirbys can beat him before he flees, the Kirbys will get a lot of EXP.
* {{Mooks}}: The Squeakers are essentially their Waddle Dees.
* MrExposition: Not originally but Daroach becomes this in ''VideoGame/KirbyMassAttack,'' offering enemy names, as well as backstory for the islands and the Skull Gang, if you talk to him on his ship. He'll also ask Kirby to get the levels' medals.
* NiceHat: Daroach sports a pretty stylish one. It's almost an EyeObscuringHat, but not quite.
* {{Ninja}}: Spinni, complete with shuriken that can be inhaled for the Ninja ability.
* OpaqueNerdGlasses: Doc has a pair, complete with spirals.
* RecurringBoss: Spinni, Storo, and Doc; the latter is fought most often of all the Squeaks, and he even is the proper stage boss twice (as Mecha-Kracko and Yadogaine).
* RodentsOfUnusualSize: Daroach is pretty big, but Storo dwarfs Dedede.
* ScarfOfAsskicking: Spinni wears one.
* ShesAManInJapan: Somewhat. Spinni is [[AmbiguousGender never referred to by any gender]] in Japan but referred to as male in the translation of ''VideoGame/KirbyMassAttack''.
* {{Sleepyhead}}: In the menu screen of ''Squeak Squad'', Storo is often found sleeping. Also whenever you fight him, he might sometimes get asleep after taking too many hits (during which he's invincible).
* StoutStrength: Storo is fat and is pretty strong.
* StuffBlowingUp: Daroach, Storo, and the Squeakers can throw bombs. [[spoiler:Dark Daroach can throw a large bomb that creates a pillar of fire.]]
* SuddenlyVoiced: They were mute in ''VideoGame/KirbySqueakSquad'', but at least Daroach gets some dialogue in ''VideoGame/KirbyMassAttack.'' At over 300 distinct lines of dialogue, Daroach actually delivers more dialogue than any other character ''[[UpToEleven in the entire series.]]'' That's excluding the notes he wrote in the instruction manual.
* TeleportSpam: Like many a Kirby boss, Daroach favors this tactic.
* ThirdPersonPerson: Daroach, but only briefly in ''VideoGame/KirbyMassAttack''.
* TitleDrop: In their debut.
* TriangleShades: Spinni wears these.
* UnwittingPawn: [[spoiler:Through greed and ambition, Daroach ends up a victim of Dark Nebula.]]
* WolverineClaws: Spinni uses one at close-range. When dropped, it can be inhaled for the Animal ability.
* YellowEyesOfSneakiness: Daroach has these. It's unknown if the rest of the Squeaks share this trait, as all of them have their eyes [[HiddenEyes obscured]] one way or another.

* ChekhovsGunman: The [[spoiler:orange butterfly that turns into Morpho]] has made innocuous appearances since ''Return to Dream Land'' in 2011. Some fans even like to extrapolate that retroactively [[spoiler:every butterfly]] since the first game was him all along. Including instances of multiple ones, since the ending to ''Planet Robobot'' shows several of them at once.
* CoolHelmet: A rather sinister horned red-orange one, in contrast to Meta Knight or Galacta Knight's masks.
* DisappearsIntoLight: He dissolves into butterfly-shaped sparks upon defeat.
* DualWielding: In his second phase, he can create a second sword and attack with both.
* FallenHero: His pause screen describes him as “a pure being twisted by a dark past.”
* GiantSpaceFleaFromNowhere: [[spoiler:Galacta Knight]] showing up at the end of Guest Star ???? Star Allies Go! was already iffy and unexplained, but at least most are already used to him showing as a BonusBoss. Then [[spoiler:that innocuous butterfly]] comes in and [[BaitAndSwitchBoss things take an even more unexpected turn...]]
* MagicKnight: He's more "knight" than "mage", but he can do supernatural stuff that other Knights can't: teleporting, emitting magical soundwaves that brainwashes your friends, and summoning orange smoky ghosts, among other things.
* MythologyGag: His appearance actually comes from a piece of concept art for Meta Knight.
* PlayingWithFire: His swords are imbued with the power of fire.
* SwordDrag: He has a move taken from boss Meta Knight's new move, where he drags her sword as he dashes forward for a {{Shoryuken}} (Sword Kirby's Upper Slash) with his sword. If anybody gets hit by it, they'll be carried to the air and become victim to the knight's BladeSpam afterward.
* TeleportSpam: He’s constantly warping around the arena during the second half of the fight.
* TornadoMove: Can summon multiple tornadoes, like Galacta Knight and Meta Knight,
* WalkingSpoiler: He's the final boss of Guest Star ???? Star Allies Go! with near-zero foreshadowing to his existence before the actual fight. What were you expecting?

[[folder:Nightmare]]
[[quoteright:275:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rsz_nightmare_ssb4.png]]

-> First appearance: ''VideoGame/KirbysAdventure''

The FinalBoss of ''Kirby's Adventure'' and its remake, ''Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land''. A Nightmare that tried to enter Dream Land through the Fountain of Dreams to spread his nightmares onto Dream Land; to counteract this, King Dedede broke the Star Rod and gave the pieces to his strongest minions, at the cost of the people being unable to have restful sleep (because they can't dream). Kirby ends up releasing Nightmare after restoring the Star Rod and placing it back in the fountain, but is able to use the Star Rod to defeat him once and for all.
-----
* BadassCape: He wears a big dark cape that he sometimes drapes over his body. The cape will also protect his body from getting hit by the Star Rod's attacks, so Kirby can only attack him when he opens it.
* TheCameo: Appears in one of the paintings in ''Canvas Curse'', one of the unlockable pictures in ''Squeak Squad'', keychains and Circus Kirby's balloon move in ''Triple Deluxe'', a sticker in ''Planet Robobot'' and a trophy in ''Videogame/SuperSmashBros for Wii U''.
* CoolCrown: Wears a cool horned crown (that is, if those horns aren't naturally his).
* DefaceOfTheMoon: His defeat causes it.
* EvilSorcerer: Looks like one in his true form, which is called "Nightmare Wizard".
* FinalBoss: In ''Kirby's Adventure'', its remakes, [[spoiler:and ''Kirby Mass Attack'''s Strato Patrol EOS mode]].
* GreaterScopeVillain: The plot is caused by [[WellIntentionedExtremist King Dedede]] trying to keep him sealed.
* HighAltitudeBattle: In his initial Power Orb form, after Kirby is shot at him by King Dedede. [[FreefallFight You have to complete the phase before]] [[ReentryScare Kirby hits the ground and dies.]] Then the second phase is this on the ground... on the moon!
* KnightOfCerebus: He starts the tradition of Kirby villains being a VileVillainSaccharineShow.
* LeanAndMean: He doesn't have much of a body to speak of, but his arms are almost skeletal.
* LivingDream: The Fountain of Dreams is where people's dreams come from on Planet Popstar. Nightmare himself is [[AnthropomorphicPersonification the embodiment of bad dreams]].
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: And is ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Kirby frees him by defeating King Dedede and re-forming the Star Rod.
* ObviouslyEvil: Definitely.
* RetCanon: His appearance in ''Nightmare in Dream Land'' is closer to the anime, despite him still behaving the way he did in ''Kirby's Adventure'' rather than the way he did in the show.
* SealedEvilInACan: Thanks to King Dedede removing his method of entry into Dream Land, at the price of there being no dreams at all in Dream Land.
* SequentialBoss: He's fought twice - once as his Power Orb form and then as his true form.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Literally, as ''Nightmare in Dream Land'' calls him "the Nightmares".
* SunglassesAtNight: In his Wizard form.
* TeleportSpam: Starts a proud tradition among ''Kirby'' final bosses.
* ThroatLight: In ''Nightmare in Dream Land''.
* UnexpectedShmupLevel: Especially for the fight against his Power Orb form, where it flies around and shoots projectiles as Kirby shoots stars from the Star Rod.

[[folder:Dyna Blade]]
[[quoteright:230:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dyna_blade_super_star_ultra.png]]

-> First appearance: ''VideoGame/KirbySuperStar''

A huge bird responsible for stealing all of the crops in Dream Land in the event of the Dyna Blade scneario.
-----
* AntiVillain: [[spoiler:All the damage she does is unintentional, and she was just trying to feed her babies.]]
* AttackOfThe50FootWhatever: In ''Air Ride'', Dyna Blade is inexplicably the size of a skyscraper.
* BigBad: Of the titular [[AntagonistTitle Dyna Blade]] sub-game.
* BreathWeapon: She fires air shots that [[PlayingWithFire light Kirby on fire]].
* TheBusCameBack: She reappears in ''Kirby Fighters (Deluxe)'' in one of the stages, acting as a stage hazard; she flies, stomps the ground and occasionally fires flame shots.
* TheCameo:
** She makes one in ''Mass Attack's'' subgame, Kirby Quest, where the Kirbys can summon her as an attack that deals high damage to all enemies. She can also be spotted behind Dedede's castle in Dream Land's map in ''Star Allies''.
** She's a keychain in ''Triple Deluxe'' and a sticker in ''Planet Robobot''.
** In ''Videogame/SuperSmashBrosBrawl'', she's available as a trophy.
* GiantFlyer: Kirby is roughly the size of her talon. She's larger in the anime.
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler:At the end of Dyna Blade and in Revenge of Meta Knight. [[GoodAllAlong She wasn't really that evil to begin with, though]].]]
* {{Leitmotif}}: Starting in ''Air Ride'', her theme seems to be Castle Lololo.
* MonsterIsAMommy: [[spoiler:The food crisis she caused was to feed baby birds.]]
* NobleBirdOfPrey: Though she is wrecking up crop fields.
* RazorWings: She can go right through a tree and two hills!
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Marx]]
[[quoteright:200:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ksa_marx_1.png]]
->First appearance: ''VideoGame/KirbySuperStar''

->''"I got the sun and moon to fight. I got you to go into space... it was according to my perfect little plan!"''

A friendly-looking WalkingHead who wants Kirby to ask the wish-granting comet Nova to stop the sun and moon's fighting... except he's actually evil and is [[UnwittingPawn just using Kirby as a pawn]] in order to wish for control of Planet Popstar.
-----
* ArmlessBiped: Normally he's a WalkingHead without any hands/arms. But after getting his power-up from Nova, he gains 2 additional limbs ([[PowerGivesYouWings wings, in this case]]).
* AxCrazy: He was already this when alive, but when [[spoiler:Marx Soul]] shows up...
* BackFromTheDead: The [[spoiler:''Ultra''-exclusive Marx Soul]] might be this. It's unclear whether he was already dead or not [[spoiler:before taking a bit of Nova's power into himself]], but that act sure "restarts" him.
* BadassAdorable:
** His combat form is not really adorable. He's standard Dream Land cute before his transformation, however.
** ''Star Allies'' [[YourSizeMayVary downsizes]] his boss form to match his normal form and mixes elements of the two together, giving him a more cutesy appearance while transformed.
* BattleBoomerang: He can throw out 4 boomerang cutters at different directions. [[spoiler:Marx Soul throws 2 sets at a time.]] In ''Star Allies'' he can also do this if he uses the wind element into his ball.
* BigBad: Of Milky Way Wishes in ''Kirby Super Star''.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: He seems like an ordinary citizen of the country concerned that day and night have been thrown into chaos. He is actually the perpetrator.
* BreathWeapon: He has a fairly impressive beaming grin. The recoil is so great it blows him off-screen. He also fires the Team Attack beam (in ''Star Allies'') from his mouth, unlike the other Friends.
* TheBusCameBack: After several games of being in the background or having cameos, he's back in the flesh in ''Star Allies'' as one of the Dream Friends.
* TheCameo:
** He appears in one of the unlockable pictures in ''Squeak Squad''.
** A statue of him is one of Stone's forms in ''VideoGame/KirbysReturnToDreamLand''. He also shows up in the Kirby Master cutscene (both here and in ''Triple Deluxe''), and the friend that Magolor says told him about Kirby (as well as [[spoiler:the person on Halcandra whom Kirby has fought before]]) is widely speculated to be him.
** You can also find a keychain of him in ''Triple Deluxe'', and as a sticker in ''Planet Robobot''. Also in both games, he's again one of the Stone forms, alongside Magolor this time.
** In ''Kirby Fighters Deluxe'', his hat is an available alternate hat for Beam Kirby.
* TheChessmaster: The entire plot of Milky Way Wishes is entirely his EvilPlan. Sure, a Kirby villain who works by themselves is no surprise. However, Marx is the only one who had to [[{{Manipulative Bastard}} manipulate]] a lot of events into happening before getting his power.
* ColorCodedElements: In ''Star Allies'', Marx's crystalline wings change color to match the element he's currently charged with. The balls on his hat also shows elemental effects, such as swirling gust of wind or fireballs.
* CuteAndPsycho: Marx's boss form is sort of cute with its big eyes and {{Heart Symbol}}s, but you can tell from his expression that something is wrong with him.
* DashAttack: One of his attacks in ''Star Allies'' is him flying forward to tackle his enemies.
* DeathCryEcho: [[spoiler:Marx Soul]] lets out a [[HellIsThatNoise horrendously nightmarish scream]] as he dies after he is defeated.
* DeathFromAbove: Aside from his boomerang cutters, he has a move where he drops a freezing bomb from above. Aside from said attack reappearing in ''Star Allies'', his Marx Flip Ultima is him slamming down from above and then becomes an invulnerable shadow on the ground; he can then rise upward as an attack, like in his boss fight. [[spoiler:Marx Soul also borrows Drawcia Soul's rain of paint attack.]]
* DubNameChange: His katakana is closer transcribed as "Mark", [[SpellMyNameWithAnS although Japanese versions still romanize it as "Marx".]]
* EvilVersusOblivion: This is given as his reason for being a playable character in the Japanese version of ''Star Allies''. Although he apparently has not turned over a new leaf since ''Super Star'', the actions of the bad guys make him concerned for his own safety -- so he decides to [[EnemyMine form a temporary alliance with Kirby and friends to stop them.]]
* FangsAreEvil: He gets them when he goes OneWingedAngel. He also has these by default in ''Star Allies''.
* FauxAffablyEvil: His concern and helpfulness are an act.
* FinalBoss: Of Milky Way Wishes and the Arena, thus making him the general Final Boss of ''Super Star''. [[spoiler:He gets an upgrade in the remake's True Arena as Marx Soul]]. In ''Mass Attack'', he's also the Final Boss of ''Kirby Brawlball''.
* FishEyes: He sometimes gets wall-eyed in his transformed state, as a sign that he's crazy.
* ForTheEvulz: He wants the power to cause all the mischief he wants.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: There was nothing to distinguish him from anyone else on Planet Popstar prior to his wish to Nova.
* GrappleMove: His Prank Kick move in ''Star Allies'' is him standing on a normal enemy (or a star) as if it's his jester ball, then kicking them away, potentially [[GrievousHarmWithABody hitting other enemies (including bosses) with it]]. The kicked enemy/star will also have the element that he himself currently has.
* GreenThumb: He has an attack where he flies out and drop seeds which quickly sprout thorny tendrils. He can replicate this move in ''Star Allies'' by infusing his ball with the water element.
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: [[DetachmentCombat Several of his attacks allow him to bisect his own body]], either to create a black hole or to launch the two halves as projectiles. [[spoiler:When defeated, Marx Soul falls into two pieces down the middle before exploding]].
* HellGate: His most powerful attack is one of these, revealed when he ''splits in half''. [[spoiler:As Marx Soul, he even ''starts'' the battle with it.]] It comes back in ''Star Allies'' as a {{charged attack}}; [[UnrealisticBlackHole sucking up objects and projectiles with it]] increases its power.
* HellIsThatNoise: Most fans will remember that horrendous scream he lets out as he finally dies [[spoiler:as Marx Soul]].
* TheJester: Looks like one. A particularly dangerous one at that.
* KnightOfCerebus: He's the only main villain that's actually evil in ''Super Star''.[[note]]Wham Bam Rock is more of a monster than anything, and there isn't much about Galacta Knight to talk about him.[[/note]]
* LackOfEmpathy: All he wants is power. If he needs to cause distress first to get that power, he will do it. And what he wants with that power is, shall we say, selfish things.
* LateArrivalSpoiler: His ''Star Allies'' description casually mentions that he was the FinalBoss of ''Super Star'' despite it being supposed to be a spoiler.
* LaughingMad: In his boss fight, Marx is always laughing. On the SNES, it's a small giggle before or after certain attacks, but on DS it's a constant stream of chuckling for every other offensive action they take. [[spoiler:Marx Soul amplifies this with a guttural cackling.]]
* LovecraftianSuperpower: His aforementioned HellGate attack which involves him [[HalfTheManHeUsedToBe ripping himself in half.]] Further emphasized in ''Star Allies'' with what could be interpreted as large globs of cyan AlienBlood.
* MagicalClown: He becomes one after gaining his wish from Nova. He becomes even more powerful [[spoiler:as Marx Soul]].
* ManiacTongue: [[spoiler:Marx Soul has his tongue tucked out all the time, as a sign that he's getting crazier.]]
* ManipulativeBastard: Kirby, the Sun, and the Moon were all doing his bidding unwittingly.
* NiceHat: a 2-branched jester hat. [[spoiler:They get more menacing as Marx Soul.]]
* OneWingedAngel: Presumably caused by Nova. How he knew to turn Marx into such a form is anyone's guess.
* PowerHigh: For the first split-second of his transformation, Marx's initial surge of power gives him a decidedly maddened look. [[spoiler:Marx Soul wears that expression constantly.]]
* PromotedToPlayable: In ''VideoGame/KirbyStarAllies''.
* PurpleEyes: ''Not'' mismatched, as commonly depicted in fan art. Of course, said fanart could be giving him MismatchedEyes to [[FridgeBrilliance signify his insanity.]]
* RainOfArrows: More like a stream of arrows, but still, this is one of his moves. He can use it in ''Star Allies'' if he's infused with electric power.
* RedemptionDemotion: While redemption may be a stretch, it's actually subverted. He has many of the same abilities in ''VideoGame/KirbyStarAllies'' that he did in ''VideoGame/KirbySuperStar'', but most of them are now locked to friends' ElementalPowers, keeping him from being able to use all of them at once.
* TheSociopath: Manipulated the sun and moon into fighting, stole Kirby's wish so he can cause all the mischief he wants, and abandoned Kirby to die in space, all with a big smile.
* SuperSpit: He can spit freeze bombs. He can also do this in ''Star Allies'', with him now able to drop different elemental bombs.
* TeleportSpam: Frequently moves around by teleporting.
* ThroughHisStomach: His Ultimate Choice description states that "he'll be your buddy as long as you keep him well-fed."
* TokenEvilTeammate: While he is a playable character in ''VideoGame/KirbyStarAllies'', the Japanese text hints that he has not actually turned over a new leaf and that he is only pulling an EnemyMine for his own personal gain.
* TrueFinalBoss: [[spoiler:Marx Soul is this in ''Ultra''.]]
* UnexplainedRecovery: Last seen falling into Nova with enough force to blow it up, [[spoiler:and, if you consider the True Arena to be canon, ''having his soul split in half and explode as he screams in agony'']]. Aside from his various cameos, in ''VideoGame/KirbyStarAllies'', not only is he seemingly none the worse for wear, but he still has at least some, if not all, of his powers that he gained from Nova.
* WalkingSpoiler: His only non-spoiling details come from the intro to ''Milky Way Wishes''.
* WeaponizedBall: His playable appearance in ''Star Allies'' has him using his beach ball more extensively for his unwinged moves, whether it be kicking it into enemies or rolling around atop it. The ball normally explodes like the Bomb ability, but they'll [[PinballProjectile bounce off surfaces]] and will only go boom if it hits an enemy, a switch or something (normally) destructible. He even uses it to [[ElementalWeapon channel]] ElementalPowers with the help of allies.
* WickedHeartSymbol: Once he gains power from Nova, he gains hearts on many parts of his body, especially his glistening [[PowerGivesYouWings wings]]. Did we mention that he's a psychotic, [[FaceOfAnAngelMindOfADemon deceptively cute]] monster who manipulated Kirby into helping him gain said power?

[[quoteright:200:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/200px-Drawciasorceress_4149.gif]]

-> First appearance: ''VideoGame/KirbyCanvasCurse''

The BigBad and FinalBoss of ''VideoGame/KirbyCanvasCurse'', she's a WickedWitch who wanted a land of paint and carried out her wish by turning Dream Land into a painting. Her true form is that of an unknown painting that she was created from.
-----
* ArtInitiatesLife:
** She creates clones of Paint Roller, Kracko, and King Dedede to serve her as part of boss mini-games at the end of the seven levels before her.
** One of her attacks in her first boss form is to draw paintings of enemies that you're forced to defeat.
* BalefulPolymorph: In the opening, she turns Kirby into [[BeTheBall a helpless ball]].
* BattleBoomerang: [[spoiler:Drawcia Soul opens up to shoot out several boomerangs of paint which then return inside her, much like Marx.]]
* BigBad: Of ''Canvas Curse''.
* BouncingBattler: [[spoiler:Drawcia Soul has an attack where she jumps into the background, then slowly jumps closer to the foreground before appearing from above to smash Kirby.]]
* TheCameo:
** In ''Super Star Ultra'', she's one of the cards in the Card Swipe minigame.
** In ''Triple Deluxe'', she's one of the Stone forms, alongside Dark Nebula.
** She appears as a secret figurine in ''Rainbow Curse'' and a sticker in ''Planet Robobot''.
** In ''Team Kirby Clash Deluxe'', she appears as a high-grade gear for the Beam Mage, with the Magical Paintbrush for his staff.
* DeathFromAbove: One of [[spoiler:Drawcia Soul's]] attacks has her summoning a rain of paint from above. This can be blocked with your paint lines.
* DeflectorShields: She's constantly protected by a mirror-like shield that prevents her from being tackled by Kirby or tapped by the stylus. To break it, you have to [[TennisBoss deflect her shots back at her]] by drawing a rainbow line. After a few strikes from Kirby, she'll regenerate the shield.
* EldritchAbomination: Subverted; she's said to be [[ArtInitiatesLife a painting that came to life]], which is not too strange in this setting. The fact that it isn't may actually be worse. [[spoiler:Drawcia Soul, however, is one, being a monstrous ball of paint in the vein of the "eyeball monsters" of previous games.]]
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Surprisingly. ''VideoGame/KirbyTripleDeluxe'' has a boss named Paintra, whose pause screen description implies her to be Drawcia's sister. (The Japanese version outright says that Paintra is Drawcia's sister. The English version implies that Paintra is trying to avenge Drawcia's defeat.) The mini-boss Vividria from ''VideoGame/KirbyStarAllies'' is implied to be another sister of Drawcia.
* EvilLaugh: Frequently in cutscenes. She also does it during the battle against her sorceress form.
* FlunkyBoss: In addition to the ones she paints to life, Drawcia can also spawn Para Sorceresses (which freeze Kirby on contact). [[spoiler:Drawcia Soul can spawn Para Matters, which will also try to freeze Kirby on contract, catch him in a fiery explosion, or sweep the screen with lasers.]]
* GenericDoomsdayVillain: Again, she wants to take over Planet Popstar, but doesn't have much character beyond that.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: She conjures up paintbrushes for most of her magic; said paintbrushes usually disappear once she is done with her spell. However, one of those brushes did not disappear and instead flew to the player so it could help direct Kirby against Drawcia. Even as early as the game's beginnings, Drawcia will leave a magic paintbrush that you'll use to guide Kirby across the levels.
* KnightOfCerebus: Even the level building up to the fight with her is insanely creepy and dark.
* NiceHat: A purple witch's hat.
* OminousPipeOrgan: The first phase of her fight has this.
* OneToMillionToOne: [[spoiler:Drawcia Soul's "rain of paint".]]
* OneWingedAngel: [[spoiler:After her initial defeat, she transforms into her soul, which is [[{{Oculothorax}} a giant multi-eyed screeching ball of paint]].]]
* PowerNullifier: She may sometimes throw out "static fields" in the arena that prevents paint lines to be drawn inside the field. They wear off with time, or after you break her shield.
* RealityWarper: Much more powerful than Ado/Adeleine or Paint Roller from previous games. Not only does she start by turning Dream Land into a painting, but the game's penultimate stage implies her influence is starting to spread past the region, even beyond Planet Popstar, as it takes place in outer space.
* SpikesOfDoom: Will cause them to sprout from the ground after painting a single spike.
* TacticalSuicideBoss: If she had just stuck to simple collision damage instead of paint magic and such your brush could interrupt, undo, or otherwise ruin, she would have been unbeatable. [[spoiler:This is less true of Drawcia Soul, but by then it's too late.]]
* TeleportSpam: [[spoiler:Drawcia Soul will attempt this, [[DefiedTrope though you can stop it cold with the brush]].]]
* ThrowTheMookAtThem: [[spoiler:Drawcia Soul's Para Matters can be sent flying at her by tapping their eyes at the right time.]]
* VisualPun: [[spoiler:Drawcia Soul looks vaguely like a painter's palette, fitting her artist theme.]]
* WickedWitch: Officially, Drawcia is an {{evil sorcer|er}}ess [[spoiler:in her initial form]], but her design and mannerisms seem more in line with this trope. Her high-pitched cackle is more than enough to creep you out. The game usually refers to Drawcia as a witch, ''except'' when you're fighting her.

[[folder:The Squeaks]]
[[quoteright:271:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Squeak_Squad2_5469.jpg]]

----
* AdorableEvilMinions: The Squeakers.
* AnIcePerson: Daroach fires freezing beams from his [[FreezeRay fancy cane]].
* DoubleJump: Spinni can jump multiple times in the air.
* DropTheHammer: Storo's WeaponOfChoice is a hammer.
* ScarfOfAsskicking: Spinni wears one.
* TitleDrop: In their debut.
* TransformationOfThePossessed: [[spoiler:Daroach undergoes this as Dark Daroach. He turns to a [[GoodColorsEvilColors darker color scheme]], his fur gets a bit scruffy, his claws grow longer, and he [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking wears a cowbell]].]]
* TriangleShades: Spinni wears these.

[[folder:Yin-Yarn]]
[[quoteright:350:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yin_yarn.jpg]]

-> First appearance: ''VideoGame/KirbysEpicYarn''

The BigBad of ''Kirby's Epic Yarn'', Yin-Yarn appears in Dream Land one day out of nowhere and begins turning people into yarn before tossing Kirby into Patch Land and attempting to take over the world.
-----
* AndThenWhat: Pulls this on himself at one point in the game (after successfully taking Dream Land and subduing the likes of King Dedede and Meta Knight). He really doesn't have a plan for what to do after conquering Dream Land, but he says he'll think of something.
* ArtInitiatesLife: Crocheting things to life.
* BigBadDuumvirate: [[spoiler:"Yin-Yarn" is actually the two knitting needles.]]
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Performs this by turning people into yarn.
* TheCameo: Is a keychain in ''Triple Deluxe''. What makes his notable is that he's one of only two 3-D characters who debuted before ''Triple Deluxe'' to get one, along with Magolor. As such, he was remade in 2-D.
* DubNameChange: Amoebo Amore in Japan.
* EvilOverlooker: He does this in the box art for the game.
* FinalBoss: Of ''Epic Yarn''.
* MacrossMissileMassacre: One of his attacks [[spoiler:in mecha form]].
* MartialArtsAndCrafts: Kung-fu wizard weaver.
* OneWingedAngel: [[spoiler:After his first defeat, the knitting needles rebuild him as a HumongousMecha tank.]]
* SpiritualSuccessor: Of Drawcia, as both transform the world into their art form of choice (painting and yarn) as well as turning Kirby into an unusual form and wearing unique robes.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Necrodeus]]
[[quoteright:350:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/necrodeus.png]]

-> First appearance: ''VideoGame/KirbyMassAttack''

The BigBad of ''Kirby Mass Attack''. He's the leader of the Skull Gang and he split Kirby into ten smaller versions of himself in the beginning, setting off the story for the game.
-----
* AxCrazy: Tries to kill Kirby for no real reason.
* BigBad: Of ''Mass Attack''. His main target is just Kirby, though.
* CurbStompBattle: Delivers this to Kirby while he's still sleeping by zapping him and splitting him into 10 completely defenseless Kirbys and then proceeding to murder almost every Kirby except one that follows his heart.
* DarkIsEvil: He ''despises'' beings of light such as Kirby, and will not hesitate to ''kill them dead'' the instant an opportunity to do so presents itself.
* DemBones: Leads a Skull Gang of similar bony creatures. He seems to have no skin or anything similar, unless that seeming aura surrounding the bones is in fact something more sinewy or that nose is cartilage/flesh.
* EldritchAbomination: A skeleton-themed PhysicalGod whose main body is made of darkness; his skull has three sharp horns, glowing red orbs for eyes, ''very'' sharp teeth, and [[ArsonMurderandJaywalking a clown-like nose]]. And he's one of the few bosses that have been known to try, and almost succeed at killing Kirby permanently.
* EvilLaugh: He has a deep and somewhat hoarse one.
* {{Expy}}: His appearance is strikingly similar to Nightmare.
* FloatingLimbs: Has GiantHandsOfDoom that work despite the lack of accompanying arms.
* GenericDoomsdayVillain: He attacks Kirby because Kirby is a "champion of light", and Necrodeus wants a world covered in darkness.
* GiantHandsOfDoom: Fighting them is the first phase of his fight.
* KnightOfCerebus: Kirby is almost completely killed when he shows up at the beginning of the game.
* MeaningfulName: His name literally translates to "death god", which is quite fitting for a powerful, skull-themed FinalBoss [[NoNonsenseNemesis who tries to off Kirby the moment he appears on-screen]].
* MonsterClown: The comically large purple nose gives off this visualization.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: It literally translates to ''death god''.
* NoNonsenseNemesis: Can possibly be seen as the smartest villain in the series. Upon arriving at the outset of the game, he knows how much of a threat Kirby is and ''immediately'' attacks Kirby. He would have killed him right then and there had one stray Kirby not followed his heart. When he realizes that Kirby is still alive, he has his Skull Gang patrol the areas in search of him, the gang capturing nine of the ten Kirbys every time they enter a new area. And when the Kirbys finally reach his hideout and find his staff, the only thing that can turn them back to normal? He [[JustEatHim swallows his staff]] to keep it out of their hands.
* ObviouslyEvil: The appearance of a PhysicalGod? Check. [[NothingButSkulls Skull motifs everywhere?]] Check. [[EvilSoundsDeep Deep]], [[EvilLaugh evil laughter]] whenever he appears on-screen? Check. [[CurbStompBattle Technically killing Kirby nine times before the game even starts?]] Check.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Or "Glowing Red Eye Lights, Take Warning", as he does not seem to have actual eyes. His skull necklace has them, too.
* SkullForAHead: His head is a giant skull with a pair of giant horns and a smaller horn on top; cracks and a necklace made of smaller skulls around it.
* TheSociopath: He is probably one of Kirby's most monstrous enemies, existing only to cause suffering.
* TrueFinalBoss: Of ''Mass Attack'', with his [[TheDragon Dragon]] Skullord acting as the regular FinalBoss.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Landia]]
[[quoteright:333:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kpr_landia_model.png]]

-> First appearance: ''VideoGame/KirbysReturnToDreamLand''

A powerful, four-headed dragon perched up in the mountains of Halcandra. He wears a crown on his top-most head, and seems to bear animosity toward Magolor.
----
* AdaptationalVillainy: [[spoiler:His appearance in the ''Team Kirby Clash'' games is more antagonistic than in ''VideoGame/KirbysReturnToDreamLand'', likely done as an effort to keep TheReveal a surprise for newer players.]]
* AlternateSelf: [[spoiler:''VideoGame/TeamKirbyClashDeluxe'' features Parallel Landia, his Mirror World counterpart(?). Unlike the noble Landia of Halcandra, Parallel Landia has abused and been corrupted by the power of the Master Crown just like Magolor.]]
* AsteroidsMonster: Upon TurningRed, he splits into four one-headed dragons.
* AttackItsWeakPoint: Once he splits apart, the dragon wearing the Master Crown takes more damage than the other three.
* BigBad: Of Kirby's Return to Dream Land. [[spoiler:Or so Magolor wants you to believe...]]
* BigDamnHeroes: [[spoiler:After Magolor's defeat, Landia returns to airlift Kirby and his friends out of the unstable interdimensional space.]]
* CoolCrown: He wears the Master Crown, an artifact created long ago that grants its wearer incredible power.
* TheCameo: Paintra summons copies of Landia through her magic painting in ''VideoGame/KirbyTripleDeluxe''.
* DiscOneFinalBoss:
** He Landia in ''Return to Dream Land'' definitely had a final boss aura around him, being a giant dragon that was behind Magolor's exile. But then [[spoiler:Magolor reveals his true intentions after Landia's defeat, forcing Kirby and co to chase after him with Landia]].
** Similarly, in ''Team Kirby Clash Deluxe'', you get to the "Decisive Battlefield" and fight Landia EX... but then even more powerful enemies appear, including [[spoiler:yet another Landia.]]
* FinalBoss: In ''[[VideoGame/KirbyPlanetRobobot Team Kirby Clash]]'', Landia EX serves as the final boss.
* GoodAllAlong: [[spoiler:Landia is the guardian of the Master Crown and his "rampage" was in response to Magolor attempting to seize it. Magolor falsely claimed that it was a destructive beast to manipulate Kirby and friends into dealing with the dragon for him.]]
* HeroAntagonist: [[spoiler:'They' only seek to keep the power of the Master Crown out of the wrong (ie. Magolor's) hands.]]
* InstantAwesomeJustAddDragons: Well, what did you expect? Other than [[spoiler:them giving you a ride across Another Dimension?]]
* KaleidoscopeEyes: Landia starts out with green eyes. Then when he TurnsRed, he gets {{red eyes|TakeWarning}}. Finally, after his defeat, he's depicted with blue eyes for the remainder of the game. [[spoiler:Parallel Landia also has yellow eyes.]]
* MesACrowd: He does just this by splitting from one four-headed dragon into four one-headed dragons.
* MultipleHeadCase: In his normal state, Landia has four heads.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: He's a hydra-like beast at first, before he splits into four.
* PlayingWithFire: Being a dragon, it's not surprising. He can either breathe fireballs, moving streams of fire, or, after splitting into four, throwing and passing around a fireball between themselves.
* PowerupMount: [[spoiler:What's the only thing cooler than defeating a dragon? Riding on his back in the next level!]]
* ShockAndAwe: After he TurnsRed and splits into 4, the split bodies can generate electric lines between themselves in distinct patterns.
* ShoutOut: To Red/Great Dragon, one of Computer Virus' monsters of ''Videogame/KirbySuperStar (Ultra)''. Regular Landia is red like Red Dragon, while Great Dragon in ''Helper to Hero'' is purple colored like Landia EX. Both can also breathe fire and "flap gigantic wings".
* TailSlap: One of his attacks is slapping Kirby with his tail 3 times.
* WalkingSpoiler: Wherever Landia goes, spoiler tags follow.
* WindFromBeneathMyWings: Landia can flap his wings to push Kirby back and fire {{Razor Wind}}s.

[[folder:Claycia]]
[[quoteright:323:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/claycia.PNG]]

-> First Appearance: ''VideoGame/KirbyAndTheRainbowCurse''

A sorceress/artist character who was formerly Elline's best friend, now she has sucked all color and life out of Dream Land. She can create various clay constructs to fight for her in battle.
----
* ArtAttacker: Like Drawcia, Paintra and Yin-Yarn before her, she attacks with artwork - this time, it's clay figures.
* BeatTheCurseOutOfHim: [[spoiler:Kirby essentially had to beat her up in order to free her from Dark Crafter's possession.]]
* BlindingBangs: [[spoiler:What initially appear to be her eyes are actually Dark Crafter's shades.]]
* BlushSticker: A pair of pink ones.
* BringIt: Will perform this gesture before you fight her proper.
* DarkActionGirl: Very much so. [[spoiler:Until she's released from Dark Crafter's control.]]
* DemonicPossession: [[spoiler:Those SinisterShades she was wearing? Those actually belonged to Dark Crafter, who was possessing her.]]
* EvilFormerFriend: To Elline, whom she betrayed [[spoiler:because she was possessed by Dark Crafter]]. In the end, after she is beaten [[spoiler:and freed from Dark Crafter's influence]], she and Elline go back to being best friends again.
* ExcuseMeWhileIMultitask: She will sometimes ''literally excuse herself from battle'' during her fight, reading a book in the background while clay construct cannons fire away at you.
* EyesDoNotBelongThere: The two huge hands on her scarf have eyes in the palms, though it's tough to notice. [[spoiler:This is due to being possessed by Dark Crafter, who had eyes on its hands.]]
* FaceHeelTurn: Seemingly stopped being Elline's friend at her own will, but once's she's beaten, they reconcile without problems. [[spoiler:The truth is that she was possessed by Dark Crafter, making her invoke the trope against her will.]]
* FloatingLimbs: Her hands don't appear to be attached to her body.
* NiceHat: Wears a purple beret.
* PurpleIsPowerful: Most of her wardrobe is colored with various shades of [[GracefulLadiesLikePurple purple]].
* SinisterShades: Wears a pair of purple/black sunglasses. [[spoiler:They actually belong to Dark Crafter, who possessed her through those glasses.]]
* StevenUlyssesPerhero: A magician named "Claycia" who has the ability to make and shape things out of clay.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: Another artist-witch villain like Drawcia and Paintra, down to the similar name even! [[spoiler:Though unlike them she's not really evil, and doesn't even look like a witch.]]
* WalkingSpoiler: Bringing her up is impossible without getting spoilered [[spoiler:because her boss battle reveals that she was possessed by Dark Crafter]].
* WhamShot: [[spoiler:Right after she's beaten, a cutscene shows her "shades" falling off and Dark Crafter forming from it, revealing that Claycia's actions throughout the entire game was due to her being possessed.]]
* WickedWitch: In a similar vein to the other art-based witches, Drawcia and Paintra. The fact that she doesn't look like a witch is actually a tip-off: [[spoiler:she's not so wicked, because she was possessed by Dark Crafter.]]
* VillainTeleportation: Surprisingly, she doesn't utilize TeleportationSpam like other Kirby bosses, she mainly does it to start her background attacks.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Has light blue hair.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Dark Crafter]]
[[quoteright:350:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dark_crafter.PNG]]

-> First Appearance: ''VideoGame/KirbyAndTheRainbowCurse''

A huge, bulgy, mound of Technicolor clay that wanted to steal color and life from everything. It's hard to tell if this is another Dark Matter spawn or something else entirely, but it is certainly very destructive.
-----
* DemonicPossession: [[spoiler:Does this to Claycia through its sunglasses.]]
* EldritchAbomination: A [[LovecraftLite lighter-looking example than most]] until you start thinking about what this thing actually ''is''. It's a gigantic sentient clod of clay with an eye in its mouth that sucks the color out of everything in sight, turning people and places into lifeless grey husks. Meanwhile, [[TheAssimilator it stores everything it's collected in its body as a swirling mix of life and colors for some unknown purpose.]]
* EyesDoNotBelongThere: Its single eye is inside of its mouth, below the "shades". It also has eyes on its hands.
* FinalBoss: Of ''Rainbow Curse'', though he doesn't reveal himself until later [[spoiler:after Kirby defeats Claycia, forcing the monster to separate himself from his host]].
* FloatingLimbs: Like with most ''Kirby'' characters. They're the [[spoiler:same]] Grab Hands that Claycia has.
* GagLips: Its eyelids look like a pair of oversized lips.
* GenericDoomsdayVillain: ''Why'' it wanted to drain the color and life from everything has not been made clear.
* GetBackHereBoss: Immediately flies off the planet it's on, and Kirby has to fly after it in rocket form.
* GigglingVillain: Whenever it hits Kirby, it makes a creepy, mocking giggle.
* LightIsNotGood: It's a living, rainbow-colored clod of clay, and very destructive. Although it was black beforehand.
* MacrossMissileMassacre: Its main attack is firing tons of mines as Kirby chases it down.
* TheManBehindTheMan: [[spoiler:It possessed Claycia through its SinisterShades so he can use her to drain all the color out of Planet Popstar.]]
* NearVillainVictory: It almost made off with the colors it still had while everyone else was simply stunned at its manifestation.
* NonstandardCharacterDesign: It is by far the most smoothly animated character in the game -- which, given the choppy clay look, makes it look almost completely out of place.
* PaperThinDisguise: Its figurine description suggests that its shades are a disguise. [[CaptainObvious It's... not very effective.]]
* PunnyName: Its name appears to be a pun relating to its Dark Matter inspirations.
* PurpleIsPowerful: Dark Crafter's "hands". ''Duh.''
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Or maybe it's KnowWhenToFoldEm, but immediately after being beaten [[spoiler:out of its host]], it runs off with the color it still has.
* ShowsDamage: Dark Crafter loses its colors as it takes damage.
* SinisterShades: Possibly a shout out to [[VideoGame/KirbysAdventure Nightmare]], its eyes act as this.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: It's basically a rainbow-colored Dark Matter with hands.
* TechnicolorDeath: Appropriately enough, it flashes between its various stages of damage, goes up in colorful flames, and explodes in a flashy light.
* WalkingSpoiler: Talking about him is impossible without spoiling the game's big twist. Especially since he shows up only at the end of the game.

[[folder: Morpho Knight]]
[[quoteright:350:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ksa_morpho_knight_model.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Never Trust A Butterfly]]
->''"On the day of judgment, this fluttery fiend will fly into action. Brought into existence by ”the greatest warrior in the galaxy“ and reborn as a knight of doom through years of adversity—now begins an epic battle with a pure being twisted by a dark past."''

A mysterious knight that serves as the final boss of ''Kirby Star Allies''' Guest Star mode.
----
* AmbiguousSituation: It’s unclear whether Morpho Knight is another form of [[spoiler:Galacta Knight]] or a different character entirely. What can be only seen in the opening is that [[spoiler:after Galacta Knight appears, a mysterious orange butterfly lands on his lance, then he disappears into light, and the butterfly suddenly turns into Morpho Knight]].
* {{BFS}}: In a possible CallBack to the Ultra Sword ability from ''Return to Dream Land'', he can enlarge his swords to a massive size before swinging them in a wide arc.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: During the second phase, his wing beats emit a sonic pulse that drives your friends mad. Use a Friend Heart to return them to normal.
* ButterflyOfDeathAndRebirth: His overall theme, as seen by his title of "The Reborn Butterfly".
