* TheLostLenore: The entire reason he quit his Shotgun Sammy gig was to find his [[spoiler:producer and boyfriend, Jack Wright]] who had come to King Falls to research the town's infamous paranormal phenomena.

* CorruptCorporateExecutive: Beauregard is a millionaire businessman who has, so far, shut down the power to town, bought all the Christmas trees in the county for his own personal enjoyment, may or may not be a vampire, and has a "transmorgrafier" that is at least powerful enough to take down a UFO.

* {{Jerkass}}: She's she's also very insulting toward the residents of King Falls, with or without provocation. After Troy helps her the first night after General Abeline gets her lost, she describes him on her podcast as "a sucker", and she barely gets through an interview with Olivia [=DuPont=] without giving up and insulting her for wasting their time, even though Olivia was the one who was invited for the interview in the first place. She's also dismissive and condescending to her intern, treats him with contempt when he shows fear, and [[spoiler:when he gets taken by the Void, she refuses to acknowledge that anything bad happened to him, instead calling him a coward for running away]]. And this isn't even getting into how she talks to Sammy, though to be fair the hostility is mutual.
** JerkassHasAPoint: However, in Episode 74 she does point out to Sammy that [[spoiler:his career as a shock jock was demeaning for him, and he's built up a solid support system in King Falls, so there's no point in him leaving, and running away from his problems wouldn't solve anything or make him any less miserable]].

* KickTheDog: She's hostile to [[spoiler:Sammy]] in particular, but she's also very insulting toward the residents of King Falls, with or without provocation. * InformedAbility: Her reputation as a journalist falls into this somewhat. Supposedly she's an experienced and hard-hitting journalist, but we see very little of this in the actual King Falls Chronicles. She conducts herself rather unprofessionally by talking down to her crew, belittling or outright attacking the King Falls residents she interviews, and mouthing off to powerful, dangerous men like Grisham and Gunderson with little regard for possible backlash she and her crew might suffer.

* DarkAndTroubledPast: Maybe not to as drastic a degree as many examples, but a smear ad from Mayor Grisham in Episode 49 reveals that Sammy in his "Shotgun Sammy" days may not have been the even-tempered guy he is now. In "The King Falls Chronicles Part One" Lillie reveals that Sammy was formerly an XM Satellite radio shock jock who dropped off the radar shortly before taking his role at King Falls AM.

* AgentScully: Lillie is even more skeptical than Sammy used to be to the weirdness in King Falls, almost hostilely so. She insists that there is either a shared mania or a scheme by the townsfolk being perpetrated. [[spoiler: She might not be so skeptical after being tailed to her hotel room.]]
* BerserkButton: Lillie doesn't take to kindly to people bringing up her brother's disappearance.

* [[spoiler: HeKnowsTooMuch]]: [[spoiler: Lillie's aggressive snooping leads to her being tailed and attacked by an unknown assailant at her hotel room in the end of her first episode.]]

* PursuingParentalPerils: A brother example. Her brother Jack was invested in researching and reporting on the paranormal, and Lillie blames it for his disappearance. Despite this however, she decides to stay in King Falls to pursue its paranormal claims, even if its to debunk them.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: Lillie and Sammy used to be friends before her brother disappeared, and he subsequently left to go find him.

* TheAlcoholic: To date, Cecil has not made a single appearance on the show where he hasn't been at a slurred-speech level of drunk. At one point you can hear him open at least four beers during a call to the show.

* PluckyGirl: After regaining her senses, Emily decides to take it upon herself to look into the conspiracies involving the rich and powerful men of King Falls. [[spoiler: She even leads the charge on a three-woman raid of the Menanist cult meeting in Perdition Woods.]]

* [[spoiler: TheBusCameBack: Twice no less. Once, [[SendInTheClones "Tim"]] is returned, but it becomes quickly apparent that he is not the same as he was before his abduction. Then the real Tim is brought when Ben brings the UFO down to rescue Emily.]]

* NotSoHarmlessVillain: At first Greg was simply somewhat creepy and was not-so-subtly trying to woo Emily before Ben could. Now he is potentially [[InsanityPloy gaslighting]] Emily and has been connected to a group of powerful men who run the government and business of and around King Falls.

* CrazyJealousGuy: Greg is NOT fond of Emily contacting anyone other than himself. He has [[Gaslighting convinced]] her that everyone from Ben and Sammy to her own mother is lying about her abduction and telling her that her slowly-returning memories are not true.
