Deputy of the King Falls Sheriff's Department under Sheriff Gunderson. Seems to spend a lot of his time dealing with the delinquent Williams Boys, but often calls in to report major events at the scene, despite Mayor Grisham's hold over the Sheriff's Department.

* BigBrotherInstinct: He develops something of this toward Ben, becoming much more passive-aggressive toward Greg Frickard [[spoiler: after he drove Ben to numerous mental breakdowns]].

* VerbalTic: Sammy tends to give a dismissive "mm-hmm" when a topic wears thin on his patience.

* DarkAndTroubledPast: Maybe not to as drastic a degree as many examples, but a smear ad from Mayor Grisham in Episode 49 reveals that Sammy in his "Shotgun Sammy" days may not have been the even-tempered guy he is now. In "The King Falls Chronicles Part One" Lily reveals that Sammy was formerly an XM Satellite radio shock jock who dropped off the radar shortly before taking his role at King Falls AM.
