** Tengen's Barriers serve as a base or Standard/Reference point for other sorcerers to use in constructing their own barriers, they do this in addition to limiting the birth of curses. If these Barriers ever collapse, then Barrier technique know-how would be sent backwards by a 1000 years and thousands of people would die due to the loss of knowledge and the amount of curses that would be born.

* AmbiguousGender: Tengen says that gender no longer applies to her due to her situation, though others still refer to him as male. The Star Plasma Vessels chosen to be his new bodies all seem to be female, and Tengen says that it's more suitable to refer to him as a granny rather than an old man, making the gender of Tengen's original form more ambiguous. Volume extras showing how she used to look would considerably dial back the ambiguity.
* AmbiguouslyHuman: Tengen is implied to no longer be a normal human due to the circumstances of his technique, and this is further reinforced upon his proper introduction, having a decidedly inhuman appearance, making it unclear how human he was to begin with. He later states that his current appearance is a result of ageing and that humans would look like that after 500 years. In any case, he is closer to a Cursed Spirit then a human which makes him vulnerable to cursed sprit manipulation.

* BarrierWarrior: They are the number one user of Barrier techniques in the entire world, and every other sorcerer uses their barriers as a base or reference point on how to construct theirs. Their barrier is also responsible for containing the vast majority of Cursed Energy in Japan and contributing to the countries high rate of curses and sorcerers.

** Her Barrier can also be turned into any environment he or another skilled wishes it to be, be it a Movie Theater, Bar, or a series of platforms with random trees occuring in a repeated pattern till infinity.
** In terms of strength, Tengen's barrier is powerful enough to withstand and contain the power of a world destroying black hole.

* BodySurf: Every 500 years Tengen must merge with a compatible human known as a Star Plasma Vessel in order to prolong his immortality technique.

* ExtraEyes: He has four large BlankWhiteEyes on his head.

* MergerOfSouls: The souls of those who Tengen merges with apparently become one with her's, but Geto has his serious doubts about this, believing Tengen to completely override and eliminate the souls.

The main protagonist of Volume 0. Formerly anxious and meek, Yuta becomes much more confident, composed, and affable during Volume 0. In the events of the main series, Yuta is a second-year sorcerer, and was overseas before reappearing during the aftermath of the Shibuya Incident. \\\

* HeroesPreferSwords: The protagonist of Volume 0 and learns to wield a katana, which is his main weapon during the current story. He's perfectly fine with fighting barehanded however, albeit it notably depends more on brute force compared to characters dedicated to hand to hand combat, like Yuji and Todo.

* DemotedToExtra: Inumaki is one of the more prominent supporting characters early on, but after [[spoiler:losing his arm]] at Shibuya, he's pretty much put out of commission for good as far as the main story is concerned. Notably, Inumaki isn't able to participate in either the Culling Game or the [[spoiler:climactic battle against Sukuna at Shinjuku.]]

* CastFromHitPoints: Because his sorcery channels a massive amount of cursed energy through a place as vulnerable as the throat, Inumaki suffers damage to his throat and vocal chords every time he uses his power. The potency of the channeled energy and thus the feedback he suffers depends on several factors. Powerful commands like "die" or "explode" require a greater power output than basic ones like "stop", and stronger Curses are harder to affect, so even the weaker commands can get taxing. If Inumaki oversteps his limits, he can wreck his throat and become unable to use his power until it heals.

Ino was initially uncomfortable with using the weapon of someone he deeply respected but Nanami's school friends encouraged Ino by telling him that Nanami trusted him more than anyone else]].
* UnfazedEveryman: [[spoiler:Out of all the sorcerers fighting Sukuna at Shinjuku, Ino is by far the most ordinary of the bunch. He's not a prodigy like Yuta or a Heavenly Restriction user like Maki or a freak science experiment like Yuji; he's just an everyday, average sorcerer, yet he still has the guts to put his life on the line in a seemingly hopeless battle. He legitimately helps out too by distracting Sukuna at several key moments, such as when Yuji is tearing into him with an onslaught of consecutive black flashes. Not bad for someone who's still at Grade 2.]]

He himself is surprised by his determination, inwardly noting that he feels indebted to Principal Yaga and realizes that he's the only thing standing between Sukuna and his students like Miwa. He manages to do a surprising amount of damage but, as expected, he's effortlessly taken out the moment Sukuna tries. At just the last moment though, Kusakabe is saved by [[BigDamnHeroes Miguel and Larue]], allowing Ui Ui to bring his unconscious body to Shoko for treatment.]]
