{{The Woobie}}: His only beloved wife Rachel who he was told was barren finally gives birth to a child while he is himself quite old so naturally he appreciates the miracle and wants to spend as much time as he can with the “miracle child” but then Joseph is nearly killed by wolves since his brothers abandoned him and almost as soon as Jacob saves him, he disappears and is presumed torn apart by wolves. Then Jacob’s wife Rachel dies in childbirth of Benjamin while Jacob still grieves for Joseph. Then Jacob’s son Simeon is imprisoned and Jacob is extorted to let Benjamin leave Canaan but it turns out Benjamin’s in danger because of it.

{{Ascended Extra}}: Rachel is given more presence here than in the text given that in the Book of Genesis she died in childbirth of Benjamin before Joseph started to incur the resentment of his brothers.
