[[folder:In General]]
* BadassCrew: They are widely considered to be the most powerful familia in Orario.

One of the strongest members of the Loki Familia.\\\

Ais is introduced at the start of the story saving the protagonist, Bell Cranel, from a high-level minotaur that had escaped her familia's grasp while returning from a dungeon expedition. Unbeknownst to her, this event would set Bell off on a journey to one day catch up to his savior, and fight at her side.
----
* TheAce: Of the Loki Familia adventurers, who themselves are a [[BadassCrew Familia of Aces]]. She's among the strongest Adventurers out there, with very few being able to compare to her. Even when Bell grows in power to prove himself to her, she still is unquestionably stronger then him.
* BadassAdorable: Can cleave through armies of monsters like a hot blade through butter, but is still a kind hearted and shy beauty who you can't help but want to give a big hug.
* BeautifulDreamer: When she takes a nap during her break in Bell's training, Bell admires her sleeping face and has an inner struggle over whether to kiss Ais in her sleep.
* BigDamnHeroes: Saves Bell from a minotaur at the start of the story.
* BirdsOfAFeather: She notes that she and Bell are quite similar, specifically mentioning how their lack of parents is something she can't help but feel a connection with. Their motivations are also closely related, with both of them desiring to become stronger and ironically both consider the other as an example for how to do so.
* BloodKnight:
** This isn't very obvious in the main series, but Ais has a complex over the fact that the main reason she became as strong as she is now is because part of her came to really, ''really'' enjoy bloody combat and struggles to keep her "[[RuleOfSymbolism black flame]]" under control.
** This trope is also a big part of her attraction to Bell. Even if too [[ObliviousToLove socially inept to understand the reason]], Ais realized that interacting with him allows her to switch off from combat mode and thus have an easier time feeling and expressing positive emotions.
** Also, Ais is deadly afraid that Bell's drive to become stronger will make him slip down the same dark path she fell into. When he asked her to stand aside during his fight with the Minotaur, she thought for a moment that it was already too late for him, only to realize that he was standing up to an overwhelming foe like the living embodiment of the ideal hero that every adventurer at some point of their lives aspire to be.
* BlowYouAway: The only magic Ais is capable of using is a type of wind barrier, Airiel. Then again, it's all she needs as it cuts everything around her apart while simultaneously dispersing projectiles and liquids that would harm her.
* CantHoldHerLiquor: She's forbidden from drinking alcohol as she went berserk the last time she did so, nearly killing Loki in the process.
* CelibateHeroine: She refuses to date anyone. {{Subverted}} however with Bell who she obviously has feelings for. DoubleSubverted because she's also ObliviousToLove, bringing this to a full circle.
* ChildProdigy: Already Level 2 at ''8 years old''.
* ClingyJealousGirl: In an odd fashion, she refuses to let Bete and Bell meet because she is under the impression that Bete is Bell's idol. She doesn't like the idea of seeing that at all, and even goes as far as to lie to Bete about where Bell is to prevent it.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: She's a natural airhead. Bell even notices this when he first trains with her. She once perused teaching advice from a book about rabbits. Three days later, in order to reward Bell, she gave him a carrot. (Admittedly this is partially Tiona and Finn's fault.)
* CoolBigSis: Oh, she is this to every younger hero; in particular Bell and Liselet.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: She has golden eyes like her hair.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: In ''Sword Oratoria'', it was hinted something happened to her parents when she was young.
* DecoyProtagonist: Billed as the protagonist of the ''Sword Oratoria'' spin-off, but really the main focus of the story is [[SpotlightStealingSquad Lefiya]]. [[note]]This is mostly only in the anime adaptation of said story, as the novel and manga focus far more on Ais and Lefiya was more of a point-of-view character for the Loki Familia in general.[[/note]]
* DoesNotKnowHerOwnStrength: While it seems like she is a DrillSergeantNasty who puts Bell through TrainingFromHell, in reality this happened completely accidentally. She wanted to be stern, but she never aimed to seriously hurt Bell. Ais does not know how to restrain herself, so she ends up seriously hurting Bell without meaning to.
* DorkKnight: Though elegant and poised in combat, Ais is just as socially and emotionally awkward as Bell, with her head halfway in the clouds. Bell even notes to himself "Is she an airhead?" When she spontaneously starts making [[WhatTheFuAreYouDoing impractical martial arts poses]] at the start of training him.
* DramaticIrony: Part of her interest in Bell is to find out how he is able to raise his level in a month while it took her a year to do it. She is unaware that his love for her is the source of his rapid growth.
* DrivenByEnvy: In ''Sword Oratoria'', she has shown a slight jealousy of Mages and their large Area-of-effect spells. She has also displayed similar amount of jealousy towards Bell's ability to become strong in an extremely short time, it's part of the reason she decides to train him, in hopes of finding how he does it.
* EvenTheGirlsWantHer: Loki has basically laid a claim on her, and isn't going to let anyone else have her. Eina mentions that she finds her attractive. Lefiya is obviously in love with her. Even the rest of the female members of Loki Familia couldn't help but find Ais cute when her fear of water crops up.
* FamedInStory: She's famous throughout Orario for her strength as a ChildProdigy as well as her ethereal beauty. Plus, she's clearly Loki's favorite child in a familia jam-packed with some of the best adventurers around, making her even more famous.
* FightingYourFriend: [[spoiler:She opposes Bell's efforts to evacuate the Xenos to the Dungeon, deeming all monsters who have the ability to scare and injure others as threats to be annihilated.]]
* {{Foil}}: ''Sword Oratoria'' reveals she's very similar to Bell. They both became adventurers when they lost their family. They both grew up on stories of a hero meeting a girl and grew strong at a ridiculous rate (though Bell is even ''more'' ridiculous due to his rare skill). But Bell kept his ideals with him while Ais has thrown them away.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: She's kind and has blond hair.
* HalfHumanHybrid: She's the daughter of a human and a spirit, which is notable since this was considered to be impossible by everyone else in the setting.
* HerosMuse: Ais is Bell's inspiration to become a hero as he wants to reach her level in order to stand by her side as her equal and lover. She's the reason why his Realis Phrase skill activated and is increasing his stats so fast since it's powered by Bell's wish of catching up to Ais.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: She's seen dealing with her own problems while Bell deals with his.
* HeroesPreferSwords: A sword user who is one of the best-known adventurers in Orario.
* IdealHero: Ais never hesitates to protect the weak, support the emotionally vulnerable or at the very least lend a caring shoulder to cry on.
* ImNotAHeroIm: She believes that, unlike Bell, she can't be called a hero because her main goal is revenge-driven.
* ImprobableAge: She's 16, but has been a 10-year veteran in the dungeon.
* InASingleBound: Using magic she can bound across town with simple jumps.
* LadyOfWar: The medieval swords-woman type.
* MadeOfIndestructium: Her Desperate was personally forged by Goibniu himself to have the Durandal property, rendering it unable to bend, chip, or break but it can still dull. This is a necessity for her, as her inability to control her strength results in her breaking a lot of weaponry by mistake.
* MagicKnight: Combines swordsmanship with her Airiel magic. Magic is actually her highest stat.
* MasterSwordswoman: There's no one who surpasses her in swordsmanship. Hence her title, "Sword Princess".
* MinidressOfPower: She always goes into battle wearing a white minidress covered by some armor.
* NiceGirl: Soft-hearted, compassionate and kind.
* NotSoAboveItAll: Despite her stoic appearance, there are a few instances where she acts her age. Such as her pouting and internally blaming Riveria for Bell running away from her as well as refusing to admit to Bell that their "training" to sleep anywhere is really just because she felt sleepy.
* NotSoDifferent: As shown in ''Sword Oratoria'', she shares Bell's impulse to become stronger, even if it is for a different reason.
* NotSoStoic: ''Sword Oratoria'' shows she's more subdued than emotionless, as she is shown interacting with members of her Familia quite easily. She's shown to lash out at Loki when the latter is feeling particularly pervy and even blush when certain topics are brought up, such as Bell.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Her fellow Familia members can instantly tell something is bothering her due to how rarely such a thing occurs. Half the reason as to why they are aware of Bell in the first place is because they were curious about who could have such an effect on her.
* ObliviousToLove: Is totally unaware that Bell loves her. At one point she even misunderstands his claim that he has someone he wants to catch up to as being about Bete rather than her. Also happens to be oblivious towards Lefiya's obvious crush on her too. Notably, she is also oblivious to her own feelings on the matter.
* PerspectiveFlip: The ''Sword Oratoria'' spin-off retells the story as the main series but from the perspective of Ais and the Loki familia. Bell and Hestia are still there, but they are now DemotedToExtra.
* TheQuietOne: While she is capable of talking, she doesn't talk much.
* RedBaron: She is often known as "The Sword Princess", given her swordsmanship.
%%* RedOniBlueOni: Blue to Tiona's Red.
* ReluctantFanserviceGirl:
** She was clearly embarrassed by Bell getting an eyeful, but strangely does not retaliate. In fact, she was more concerned that Bell did his usual "blush then run away" act.
** Her [[SexyBacklessOutfit really revealing outfit]] is the result of Loki threatening to bite her tongue out if she refused to wear it.
* SacrificedBasicSkillForAwesomeTraining: She is easily one of the strongest adventurers in the story, but has a hard time understanding others or even her own feelings.
* SexyBacklessOutfit: Her usual combat outfit exposes a great deal of her back. She is actually somewhat uncomfortable about it, but continues to wear it due to Loki's insistence.
* SexyMentor: She's Bell's primary love interest and helps him train on occasion.
* SkewedPriorities: During her fight with the strange plant monsters in the pandemonium of the Monster Feriae, her sword breaks. The first thing she worried about was the scolding she was going to get from Goibniu and Loki for breaking another weapon rather than the fact that three nigh-invulnerable monsters were closing in to kill her.[[note]]Then again... combined with the cost of the repairs for her old sword it adds up to a grand total of ''40 Million valis!'' For reference, 5 million is enough to buy a mansion with servants, so her priorities might not have been as skewed as they seemed at the time.[[/note]]
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Creator/SentaiFilmworks has her given name transliterated as "Ais".
* TheStoic: She rarely shows any emotion. This is the reason why her obsession with Bell is a well-known fact to her friends, as these are some of the only times she breaks character.
* StoryBreakerPower: The author's editors feared that once Ais teamed up with Bell, nothing would challenge them. This was ultimately {{averted|Trope}}, however: by ramping up the threat level of the monsters that Ais fights in her own story, she ends up nearly dying several times. It's still clear she's quite strong, even among adventurers of the same level.[[note]]She ended up fighting an Irregular who was the size of a floor boss entirely by herself. Admittedly, this was largely thanks to the fact that she was the best for the job. Part of the reason that the Irregular was so dangerous was that it could dissolve weapons, and Ais's sword is indestructible. The Irregular still challenged an entire party of Level 5 and 6 adventurers, so this cannot be excused by her advantage alone.[[/note]] However, she is not invincible.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: She resembles a younger version of her mother.
* SugarAndIcePersonality: While stoic and quiet, she's warm-hearted and kind, and is adorably shy when other people show kindness towards her.
* SuperDrowningSkills: She can't swim, as when she was seven years old, Riveria punished Ais for calling her an "old woman" by tying adamantite to her and throwing her in water, calling it "swimming training".
%% * SuperpoweredEvilSide: In ''Memoria Freese'', during the ''LightNovel/DateALive'' crossover campaign ''Ais Catastrophe'', she transforms into an Inverse Spirit in the middle of her fight with [[Characters/DateALiveTohkaYatogami Touka Yatogami]]. [[spoiler: It's later revealed to be the work of a fake Kaguya Yamai who implanted an unnamed Black [[Power Crystal Sephira Crystal]] inside of her]].
* TheTeetotaler: Drinks water instead of alcohol while in a bar. {{Justified|Trope}} as she's 16.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: She loves the potato puffs that Hestia sells. [[CharacterExaggeration Exaggerated]] in ''Days of Goddess'', where she apparently ''only'' eats those.
* TroublingUnchildlikeBehavior:
** She already has most of her main tropes on literally her ''first'' day as an adventurer: a thirst for raw power, [[BloodKnight a self-driven preference (if not enjoyment) for battles]], zero fear to monsters and zero care to her own injuries, and [[DoesNotKnowHisOwnStrength problems controlling her own strength]]. The leaders of the Loki familia were suitably troubled, and decided any physical training for her ''must'' give way to ''mental'' training, and Riveria was assigned as her MoralityPet.
** During Orario's darkest days, Finn is forced to let her take the field over Riveria's complaints because of how low on manpower they are. Ais shows troubling indifference to cutting down and even dismembering the members of Evilus, though she was primarily motivated by her desire to keep the injured Riveria from suffering any more.
* WeaponOfChoice: A [[CoolSword sword]] called Desperate. It's unbreakable.
* WhatIsThisFeeling:
** Her reaction to meeting Bell again. It took her a while before she realized that she wanted to apologize to him.
** There are also a few moments in ''Sword Oratoria'' novels where she doesn't understand the feelings she has related to Bell. There are points where she feels things close to jealousy, but the actual idea that she might be feeling envious doesn't seem to cross her mind.
* WhatTheFuAreYouDoing: When she started to train Bell, Ais hilariously starts making striking awkward martial arts poses not out of place in a bad 1970's blaxploitation film, prompting Bell to wonder if she's an airhead.
* WhenSheSmiles: It's rare, its subtle, but when she smiles she is practically an angel.
* WillfullyWeak: She does not like use her wind magic Airiel when fighting non-monster opponents, [[GodzillaThreshold and only uses it when she is really getting in over her head]].
* TheWorkaholic: She spends a lot of time in the dungeon to the point that everyone in her familia tells her to take a break.
* YouRemindMeOfX:
** Bell reminds her of her purer younger self. This is the reason for her obsession with him, as he possesses the innocence she feels she has lost.
** In ''Sword Oratoria'', there is a point where he reminds her of her father, equating him with the image of a hero.[[spoiler:This image, along with her realisation that Bell hadn't started down the same dark path as her, is what actually stops her from simply killing the Minotaur, despite how protective she is of Bell at that time.]]

The Goddess of the Loki Familia.\\\

Known as the Goddess of Mischief, Loki is the head of one of the largest familias in the lower world, and strives to make Ais one of the greatest adventurers in history, while also at odds with Hestia due to their differences in breast size.
----
* ACupAngst: She can't handle being flat-chested. This is the source of most of the enmity and cat-fights between her and the big-breasted Hestia.
* AbhorrentAdmirer: Ais always turns away Loki's lecherous advances, often violently.
* AuthorityInNameOnly:
** She's supposed to be the head of her familia, but it's quite apparent she's not the one in charge. Her far more mature subordinates like Ais and Riveria are the ones who tell her what to do while she's busy goofing around like a child.
** However, in the ''Sword Oratoria'' spin-off, she is shown to act responsibly and with authority when her 'minders' are away or when she's dealing with the other Gods as shown when she maneuvered expertly during the Denatus and her baiting Evilus into lowering their guard right after.
* AmbiguouslyBi: She will always try to get her hands on any of the girls in her familia, but a gag manga has her being swept off her feet by Bete's charms [[MatingSeasonMayhem while he was in heat]]. Since it ''is'' a gag manga though, it might not be true.
* BareYourMidriff: Her standard outfit displays her midriff.
* {{Bifauxnen}}: She goes to Apollo Familia's ball wearing a red tuxedo and with her androgynous figure, she could easily pass off as a long-haired pretty boy.
* ButchLesbian: Very into girls, and acts like an incredibly perverted man while acting on it. She also overall doesn't act very feminine.
* CheshireCatGrin: Sports one whenever she's feeling particularly dirty or is about to blackmail someone. The above is just one of her ''many'' examples.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Much like Hestia, Loki doesn't want anyone getting near her favorite Familia member, in her case Ais.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: It would do one well not to forget that for all her womanizing and sexual harassment she is still the trickster god of heaven.
* DirtyOldWoman: Called one by her own familia, though it's hard not to when one sees the faces she makes while fondling her female children.
* EyesAlwaysShut: Loki almost always squints, with very rare occasions she fully opens her eyes.
* FieryRedhead: She's a loud, energetic redhead with her fights with Hestia showing she has a short temper too.
* HateSink:
** Brash and rude, obnoxiously clingy to the girls in her guild especially Ais, goes out of her way to bully Hestia and her familia, is a DirtyOldWoman who enjoys [[SkinshipGrope groping]] the girls of her familia, makes very little contribution to her familia with Ais and Riveria running the show. It appears even her own familia can't stand her and just barely tolerates her presence while learning to deal with her antics.
** Somewhat rectified in ''Sword Oratoria'' where she is capable of acting more mature and responsible like a proper god of a familia, when her 'minders' are absent.
* HistoricalGenderFlip: Loki was a man in the original Norse myths... well, [[GenderBender most of the time anyway]].
* HopelessSuitor: Makes it no secret how infatuated she is with Ais, but Ais always shoots every one of her moves down.
* HotGoddess: More than a little tomboyish, but she wears some rather tight revealing clothes.
* ImmortalImmaturity: Even more immature than Hestia, who at least knows restraint and will become serious when the time calls for it. Loki acts like a little child who needs to be kept on a leash by Ais or Riveria. She can easily be bribed with petty things like wine.
* InVinoVeritas: She's actually even MORE perverted when she's drunk. Ais Wallenstein is seen brandishing a dagger before Loki updates her Falna for this reason. She only puts it away when Loki confirms that she's not drunk.
* JerkassHasApoint: [[spoiler:When Hestia reveals the nature of the Xenos to her, Loki scoffs at the idea between reconciliation between mortals and monsters. She compares the situation to making friends with the Black Death. If something that has killed hundreds of millions of people and driven the world to extinction suddenly turned around and asked to be friends, naturally the ones being hunted would be rightfully skeptical and fearful.]]
* KansaiRegionalAccent: She speaks in Kansai-ben, probably to invoke a TheIdiotFromOsaka image.
* LetsGetDangerous: She often opens her eyes fully whenever she means business. [[RedEyesTakeWarning They're red by the way.]]
* LoserDeity: In a different way to Hestia. While Hestia has a bad reputation in public due to being poverty stricken and for a long time having no familia, she is held in quite high regard by the children of her familia. By contrast, Loki is very well off enjoying luxury and wealth and one of the highest ranking familias, but her own familia cannot stand her and at times revile her for her obnoxious and perverted behavior.
* MamaBear: She won't let anyone get away with hurting her familia. While she is not allowed to directly engage in combat with another God/Goddess, she's more than willing to use every trick in the book to expose them and ruin their reputation permanently.
-->'''Loki:''' ''[grinning maliciously]'' That new species of monster went and hurt Ais-tan and everyone. It went an' hurt my children. I'm goin' to drag out whoever made it bloom, and make 'em '''pay''' for it.
* AMotherToHerMen: Loki is incredibly informal with her people often joking and bantering with them as well as playfully harassing her women, and despite the Familia's large size she addresses everyone by name.
* RichIdiotWithNoDayJob: She's very wealthy thanks to having one of the largest familias in the story. She enjoys flashing her wealth in front of the other gods, ''especially'' her broke as dirt rival Hestia.
* SitcomArchNemesis: To Hestia, with the two of them fighting practically every time they cross paths.
* SkinshipGrope: Loves groping other girls, but it's a lot less innocent than most examples of this trope given she's a DirtyOldWoman.
* SlapStickKnowsNoGender: Frequently violently punished by Ais, when she gropes her.
* SmarterThanYouLook: While she acts like a goofball most of the time, she is still the goddess of trickery, mischief, and scheming, instantly pointing out all of the aches, pains, and injuries Ais sustained from her expedition to the 50th floor despite not showing any signs of discomfort. She also correctly deduces that Bell has a special skill that allows him to level up dramatically through her suspicion alone.
* TookALevelInKindness: Off-screen, but its mentioned that before gaining a Familia she was quite violent and would often challenge gods to death duels. Her actions around Hestia is used as proof, since it never grows beyond name calling and face mushing.
* WhoWearsShortShorts: She does, wearing short shorts most of the time unless it's a formal occasion.

[[folder:Bete Louga]]
!!Bete Louga
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bete_louga.png]]
->Voiced by: Creator/NobuhikoOkamoto (JP), Creator/TyMahany (EN), Diego Muzlera (Latin America)\\\

A beastman of the Loki Familia.\\\

Bete looks down on low-level adventurers, and considers himself the only one worthy enough to be with Ais.
----
* ArmedLegs: Bete's WeaponOfChoice.
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: Proud of his strength and considers low level adventurers trash.
* ButtMonkey: His team doesn't have much respect for him.
* CastFromHitPoints: Bete's spell ''Hatti'' grows more powerful the more injured Bete is and once it has been active long enough it starts injuring Bete himself, increasing it's power.
* CrazyJealousGuy: Gets quite jealous of Bell in episode 12 after finding out he saw Ais naked briefly due to Hermes luring him to a spot to watch the women bath.
* ExtremityExtremist: While the Amazon Sisters are often shown punching their targets while fighting without their weapons, Bete fights almost exclusively with a variety of kicks. Justified by the fact that his weapons are a pair of magical boots that can take on the properties of whatever magic they encounter.
* FacialMarkings: A tattoo down the left side of his face.
* HopelessSuitor: In love with Ais, but has the least chance of any of her would be suitors.
* IllKillYou: He screams this towards [[Characters/DateALiveKurumiTokisaki Kurumi Tokisaki]] during their second meeting in the ''LightNovel/DateALive'' crossover in ''Memoria Freese'', [[spoiler:or rather first as the encounter in the dungeon was with an impostor that also impersonated Kaguya Yamai]].
* InspirationalInsult: Often delivers this. It seem this is the way he speaks; in ''Sword Oratoria'' most of Loki's children ''do'' understand what he actually means.
* {{Jerkass}}: Comes off as a major one to the point that he was making fun of Bell for his inability to fight against a minotaur. He ''was'' drunk though. In ''Sword Oratoria'', he's more reasonable but still elitist.
* JerkassHasAPoint:
** He points out exactly why it would be a bad idea to help Bell fight [[spoiler:the minotaur]].
--->'''Bete:''' Leave the kid alone, Tiona. [[ThisIsSomethingHesGotToDoHimself He's being a man right now]]. If I was him, and I got saved again, I'd want to kill myself.
** Shown again later in ''Sword Oratoria''. When a tavern full of adventurers begin hurling abuse at Lefiya and Filvis, and Loki Famillia in general, for being late in reacting to an unusually large monster infestation and blaming them for the casualties, Bete responds by stating that people shouldn't be in the high-risk adventurer business if they can't accept the possibility of dying, cowing the entire tavern who couldn't look him in the eye after that response.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Shown in ''Sword Oratoria'' where he shows most of his jerkiness is just bluster, and he cares about his fellow Familia members. It's also shown that his major act of jerkassery was done while so drunk he didn't remember a thing the next day and become pretty depressed when he was informed of it. Also, despite his speech above, he's willing to save Bell when Lili starts begging him.
* LittleBitBeastly: While being called a [[OurWerewolvesAreDifferent werewolf]], he looks entirely human except for his ears and tail.
* {{Lunacy}}: Bete is a ''werewolf'' rather than a Chienthrope like Micha's Familia's Naza. What this means that under the light of a full moon he gets a power boost roughly equivalent a full level increase. It just doesn't come up all that often since most of the action occurs underground in the Dungeon or [[spoiler:Knossos]]
* ManaDrain: The other aspect of Bete's spell ''Hatti'' converts any magic directed against Bete, both direct attacks and status debuffing curses into power to fuel the spell.
* MegaManning: He wears a pair of magical boots that equip the effect of whatever spell they come into contact with. He can even use magic swords to accomplish this without assistance.
* TheNoseKnows: How he realized that Dionysus knew about the dangerous plant monsters as the god's scent was all over the place where he fought four of them.
* OurWerewolvesAreDifferent: He's from the Werewolf race and has the appropriate wolf-like features.
%%* PoliteVillainsRudeHeroes: Had this dynamic with Kurumi in the ''LightNovel/DateALive'' crossover campaign, ''Ais Catastrophe'' in ''Memoria Freese''. With him being the rude hero to her polite villainess.
* SirSwearsALot: He's the only character to use expletives--both the F-word and the S-word--on a regular basis, at least in the English translation of ''Sword Oratoria''.
* SuperSpeed: Bete's primary trait. He's considered to be the fastest member of the Loki Familia, surpassing even Ais when it when it comes to pure speed. He's so fast that not even Loki, a Goddess, can properly track his movements when he's going all out.
* TraumaCongaLine: Volume 8 of the ''Sword Oratoria'' reveals Bete's life to be this before joining Loki Familia. Raised in a werewolf clan on the plains his tribe was almost completely wiped out, including his beloved younger sister and young woman his age [[ChildhoodFriendRomance that he was growing close to]], by a rogue monster. He then travelled to Orario and joined ''Vidar'' Familia in an effort to get strong enough to destroy it. While he eventually did, while he was travelling back to his home the Familia was almost wiped out by a Monster Party, losing most of it's top fighters, including another young woman who reminded Bete of his childhood friend. It's more or less spelled out that most of his {{Jerkass}} behaviour is an effort to keep people at distance so he's not hurt again.
* {{Tsundere}}:
** Referred to this by Loki in regards to his relationship with Ais and his motives for fighting. Best exemplified by this little tidbit.
--->'''Bete:''' ''[when prompted about the Minotaur incident]'' I was only cleaning up after my own mistake. I wasn't doing it to save those small fries.\\
'''Loki:''' ''[nonchalant and making kissing noises, making Bete blush]'' [[DeadpanSnarker Yes, thank you for that Tsundere response.]] [[LampshadeHanging It's seriously borin' how there's no twist endin'.]]
** [[spoiler:Also a slight case towards Bell himself. Privately, he is actually highly impressed with Bell's drive and ability after the Minotaur fight, to the point where he calls him a 'man' to the rest of his Familia (many of whom he calls trash despite being in the same familia) and loudly expects great things from him. Bell's successes also frequently drives him to work harder. However, when actually facing Bell, none of this slips through; with him acting as a slightly less elitist version of himself.]]
* WhatTheHellHero: Is very rude when talking about Bell in the pub. Unbeknownst to him, Bell was eating at a nearby table, and Bete's mocking gets so bad that he ends up running out of the pub in tears. Bete gets strung up by his teammates for going too far with the insults.
* YouExclamation: During the ''LightNovel/DateALive'' crossover in ''Memoria Freese'', he delivers this to Kurumi Tokisaki upon their third meeting, [[spoiler:or rather second as the first meeting alone was with an impostor that also impersonated Kaguya Yamai]].

A Pair of Amazon sisters and good friends with Ais. They, like Ais, are first-class adventurers.
----
* AbhorrentAdmirer: Played with, since Tione is a ''very'' fetching young lady, but Finn just isn't interested in her due to needing a Prum heir. Yet she refuses to give up and is constantly making passes at him, to the point that Finn gets chills when she's talking about doing something potentially raunchy with him when he's out of earshot.
* AbsurdCuttingPower: Tiona runs on this, with her Urga being specifically designed to cut through all but the toughest of materials with ease.
* ACupAngst: Tiona doesn't like that in her group of friends she has the smallest chest, Tione in particular loves rubbing this in whenever they argue. She also shows jealousy of Hestia's rack.
* ActionGirl: Both are strong and capable warriors.
* AlwaysIdenticalTwins: At first glance appear to be fraternal, given their differences in voices and how Tione's bust is so much bigger. But the development of both of these traits is actually more affected by the environmental factors rather than the genes. On the other hand, the same hair/eye color as well as similar faces is the usual indicator of identicalness. Especially in anime genre.
* BareYourMidriff: Both sisters wear a bikini-like top that exposes the midriff.
* TheBerserker: Tione has an ability that raises her attack power the more damage she takes, and the effect increases if she's mad.
* {{BFS}}: Urga is longer than Tiona is tall. It's also a DoubleWeapon, being a hilt with a massive blade attached to either end.
* BigSisterInstinct: Tione the older sister once overheard a plan to attack Tiona because the Amazons were jealous of the latter's ability to smile and happiness in general, and put a stop to it then and there by beating them all up.
* BloodKnight: Tione when she gets pissed off enough will forgo the use of weapons and just rip monsters apart with her bare hands, even if said monsters have an acid like blood.
* BuxomIsBetter: Although they're twins, Tione's bust is much larger than Tione's, which she's always rubbing in Tione's face.
* ChildSoldier: Being born in Tels'kyura, [[spoiler:they were trained from birth to fight. To begin with, they are already Level 2 at ''five'' years old.]]
* ClingyJealousGirl: Tione hates it when other girls get close Fynn and will [[{{Tsundere}} turn murderous]].
* DarkAndTroubledPast: [[spoiler:Being born in Tels'kyura, they received their Falna from Kali on the day of birth, and were specifically conditioned to be {{Blood Knight}}s, by subjecting them to duels from an early age, first with {{mooks}}, then with fellow Amazons. In a rather memorable case, both of them got their first LevelUp by killing their roommates, at the age of ''five''.]] Tione immediately has a HeroicBSOD when she saw the Kali Familia in Port Meren during the sixth ''Sword Orotoria'' novel.
* DoesNotLikeShoes: Neither sister wears shoes. Seems to be cultural, as no other Amazon characters in the background do either.
* DoubleWeapon: Tiona wields a double-bladed sword.
* TheDreaded: PlayedForLaughs. Tiona is this for Goibniu's familia, who call her ''The Destroyer'' because she breaks her weapons far too often.
* DumbMuscle: Both are seen by Loki as this in ''Sword Oratoria''. Tione tends to charge into the fray whenever Fynn calls upon her, while Tiona is a little airheaded, flighty, and chidish. Despite this, their combat skills and raw strength are top-notch, to the point that monsters run in terror at the sight of them.
* FamilyThemeNaming: Their given names are only one letter/character apart.
* GenkiGirl: Tiona for sure, Tione only when Captain Fynn is involved.
* {{Glomp}}: Tiona's favored way of greeting Ais.
* KukrisAreKool: Tione wields a pair of kukri knives.
* LoveAtFirstPunch: Tione first developed feelings for Finn after he beat her in a match.
* MagicallyIneptFighter: Tiona is the ''only'' adventurer so far to have ''no'' magic at all.
* MarshmallowHell: Tione has put Tiona through this to spite her or to get her to shut up.
* PolarOppositeTwins: They are twins, but they have a TomboyAndGirlyGirl dynamic.
* RedOniBlueOni: Tiona's Red to Ais's Blue. Tione gives the impression to be Blue to Tiona's Red but it's actually the opposite.
* ReligiousAndMythologicalThemeNaming: Tione's alias, Jörmungandr, is the name of a giant sea serpent, and the child of the God Loki and the Giantess Angrboða from Norse mythology.
* TheResenter: Many Amazons in Telskyura hated that Tiona was so happy in spite of everyone's circumstances, including ''Tione''. Thankfully, Tione's sisterly feelings took precedence and she protected Tiona from being attacked outside of the rituals.
* ShipperOnDeck: Both are very supportive of Lefiya getting closer to Ais. Whether they're aware Lefiya has feelings or just encouraging them to be friends is left vague.
* ShipTease: Both Tiona and Tione are two of the few members of the Loki familia who are fond of Bell, though Tiona is the more flirty of the two, whereas Tione mainly has eyes for Fynn. Whether the former really has feelings for him is left in the air.
* SingleTargetSexuality: Tione has eyes for Captain Fynn.
* SmittenTeenageGirl: Tione, she's incredibly in love with captain Fynn, who is more annoyed or creeped out by her advances than anything else.
* {{Stripperific}}: Amazons have no issue with wearing, and fighting in, skimpy clothing that looks more like swim wear than actual garments.
* SuperStrength: Tiona's fighting style involves a large double bladed weapon [[AbsurdCuttingPower designed to cut through anything]] but is [[RequiredSecondaryPowers impossible for most people to even lift let alone use.]] Both sisters though have shown an incredible amount of strength that is mentioned to be exclusive to the Amazons.
* TallPoppySyndrome: The other Amazons of Telskyura were jealous of Tiona's happiness and planned to attack her. Tiona for her part was never aware of this because Tione protected her.
* ThoseTwoGirls: They are almost always seen together, justified since they are twins.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Tiona and Tione respectively.
* {{Tsundere}}: Tione can very quickly lapse into anger if her BerserkButton is pushed.

An elf mage and second-class adventurer introduced in ''Sword Oratoria''. She admires Ais in much the same way Bell does.
-----
* TheApprentice: She is learning under Reveria in the field of magic.
* BeyondTheImpossible: Normally even a powerful mage can only know up to three spells, but Lefiya's third spell is a mimic type that allows her to use any spell used by an elf as long as she knows the chant to it as well as knows what it does.
* ButtMonkey: She's always on the receiving end of Loki's gropes when all the other girls dodge out of the way.
* CantArgueWithElves: Subverted. She's notably is much less elitist compared to most elves because her HiddenElfVillage [[AvertedTrope was not actually cut off from the outside world at all]] and was commonly visited by explorers moving from place to place, not to mention she spent several years studying in Orario before joining Loki.
* CharacterExaggeration: In the Sword Oratoria anime, she is much more clingy and possessive than she was in the light novels.
* CharacterDevelopment: Mostly in Sword Oratoria light novels. As the story progress, she gradually grew out of her lack of self-confidence and nervous personality and became a more powerful companion.
* ClingyJealousGirl: While she denies it a great deal, her extremely hostile reaction to Bell's close relationship with Ais says otherwise.
* CradlingYourKill: [[spoiler: After killing Filvis, Lefiya cradled the dying Elf in her arms, saying that she is the most beautiful person she’d ever met.]]
* CrashIntoHello: How she met Bell.
* CuteClumsyGirl: Kind of accident prone.
* CuteWitch: A magic using elf.
* DeathWail: Her reaction towards [[spoiler: Filvis’ death in vol.11.]] Her cry was powerful enough that magic leaked out without any chanting.
* {{Deuteragonist}}: Of ''Sword Oratoria'', where she's a major viewpoint character. In the anime adaptation though, it's really Lefiya's own character arc that takes center stage.
* DisproportionateRetribution: When Bell accidentally falls into the spring the girls are bathing in, most of them are relatively unfazed. Meanwhile, Lefiya is already busy chanting one of her FantasticNuke spells as Bell flees for his life and had to be stopped by the other women from killing him.
* DistaffCounterpart: She is essentially a female version of Bell, being a relatively weak adventurer inspired to be greater by Ais. She also has amazing potential and is working on trying to win the affection of Ais.
* DrivenByEnvy: Despite having more years of experience in the dungeons, Bell far exceeds her in fighting ability and it drives her nuts. At one point when they both ended up lost in the middle dungeon floors she tried to take charge to show off her superiority to him, but found herself matched by his general know-how. When she learns that he leveled up to Level 3, the same level as her, she becomes frustrated and dismayed.
* FeminineWomenCanCook: The most girly of Ais's circle of friends, and the one most capable in cooking.
* FutileHandReach: [[spoiler: Again with Filvis in vol.11, but Filvis had deliberately changed her speed so she wouldn't reach her and their plan could work.]]
* GlassCannon: Able to release huge Area-Of-Effect spells but they take time and she is completely vulnerable while chanting, also she lacks experience so she can get startled fairly easily and has zero melee ability.
* HeroicBSOD: [[spoiler:Filvis]]'s death in Book 11 of ''Sword Oratoria'' is, to date, the most serious example of this in this franchise--Lefiya received so much shock that she completely unresponsive, even to Ais.
* ImagineSpot: She often has fantasies of being with Ais.
* JerkassToOne: With any other person, she's more or less a NiceGirl. When it comes to Bell and how close he is to Ais, she goes all ClingyJealousGirl and goes to extremes in keeping Bell away.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She feels very guilty after reducing Bell into a sobbing mess after letting out her pent up aggression against him. After which she begins to treat him a little more decently.
* LipstickLesbian: Acts very traditionally feminine, and has shown interest only in girls.
* TheLoad: Bete holds nothing back and outright considers her one, especially when he compares her to Filvis, another Level 3 magic-using elf who performs much better in combat than Lefiya does, adding that Tione and Tiona being ''too nice and forgiving'' was probably detrimental to her development as an adventurer.
* NecessaryDrawback: Her mimic spell allows her to cast any other spell an elf can use, but after successfully using the mimic spell, she then needs to do the chant and gather the magic power for the ''mimicked'' spell. Since successfully using a copied spell requires more time and power to do, there are more things that could go wrong and more opportunities for her enemies to counter her.
* NotSoDifferent: With her attraction to Ais and desire to become stronger, she has more in common with Bell than she's comfortable to admit. [[spoiler: Told this to a dying Filvis, saying that they’re both weak Elves that needed someone, and told Filvis that she’s the most beautiful person she’d ever met]].
* OvershadowedByAwesome: As a Level 3 she is overshadowed by the top fighters of Loki Familia, resulting in her fears that she would become TheLoad and her subsequent lack of self-confidence.
* PersonOfMassDestruction: As a back-line Mage this is her role in combat, especially in the much lower levels where armies of monsters are common, she can destroy hundreds if not thousands of monsters in one attack. Assuming she can ''complete'' the chanting required.
* PlayingWithFire: Her Fusillade Fallarica is a fire-based attack spell.
* PointyEars: She has the long and pointed ears that are characteristic of elves.
* PowerCopying: There are some conditions but with her Summon Burst she can copy Elven Magics.
* RedBaron: Thousand Elf, referring to Lefiya's ability to bypass the typical "three spell" restriction on most Adventurers through her Elf Ring spell, allowing her to utilize any elven spells in addition to her own.
* TheResenter: She can't stand how Bell is so close to Ais and how quickly he can level up compared to everyone else.
* ShipTease: With Filvis, while Lefiya's attraction toward Ais is more or less one-sided, her relationship with Filvis is much more genuine and mutual.
* SitcomArchnemesis: Treats Bell as this from the moment she sees him with Ais.
* SpotlightStealingSquad: In the original Sword Oratoria light novels and the manga adaptation, she doesn't take too much focus away from Ais, but in the anime adaptation, her own personal struggles and wanting to win Ais's affection takes far more focus.
* SquishyWizard: Unlike Riveria, who is experienced enough to cast spells while on the move and use her staff as a weapon, Lefiya has little to no close combat experience, making her a liability if no one is available to provide cover for her.
* StakingTheLovedOne: At the end of SO volume 12, Lefiya killed [[spoiler:Filvis]] with her own sword.
* SuperpowerLottery: Most people are only able to learn a maximum of three spells. However, due to Lefiya's unique final spell, Elf Ring, she has no limit on the number of spells she's able to learn, allowing her to even replicate elven magic in addition to her own. And more so in SO volume 12, after she discovered a new skill that allows her to use two magic at one time, something ''no mage'' can do in this world, not even Riveria!
* TransparentCloset: Vehemently denies that she has any feeling for Ais, while also having fairly erotic {{Imagine Spot}}s about her.
* TraumaticSuperpowerAwakening: In Sword Oratoria light novel 12. After witnessing [[spoiler: Filvis]]'s death in volume 11, [[HeroicBSOD she went into shock]] and didn't respond to anything until Loki managed to pull her back. Later, when she update her status, a new skill popped up.
* {{Underboobs}}: One of the outfits she donned (called "Arcanic Cascade" in ''Memoria Freese'') shown off the bottom side of her bust.
* UnknownRival: Considers Bell to be a rival for Ais' attention. Bell is oblivious to this, but ''is'' aware that [[{{Tsundere}} Lefiya alternates between being nice to him and mean to him.]]
* WakeUpCall: Bete told Lefiya straight to her face that he considers her TheLoad and added that their friends being too nice and forgiving about Lefiya's TheLoad status was detrimental to her development as an adventurer. Lefiya admitted he was right and started taking more active steps in becoming stronger rather than simply lamenting her weakness.

An elf mage, first-class adventurer, and one of three leaders of the Loki Familia.
----
* TheArchmage: The strongest Mage in Orario, at Lv.6.
* BarrierMaiden: Veil Breath (buffs defense of nearby members) and Via Shilheim (negates all incoming damage).
* BerserkButton: DO NOT CALL HER OLD.
* ChargedAttack: An interesting case, she has a technique ''Chant Connect'' that allows her to use different magic based on the length of the chant. Each spells can derive into 3 different magic, and since she has 3 spells, thus allows her to use 9 magic total while most other mages can only use up to 3 magic. This earns her the name [[RedBaron Nine Hells]]. Spells such as Wynn Fimbulvetr and Lea Laevateinn each are phase one and phase two charge of her attack spell. Spells such as Veil Breath and Via Shilheim each are phase two and phase three charge of her defense spell.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Green hair match with green eyes.
* ElementalPowers: Such as
** AnIcePerson: Wynn Fimbulvetr. So cold in fact, that it's said to be capable of freezing time.
** PlayingWithFire: Lea Laevateinn.
* {{Elfeminate}}: More so in ''Sword Oratoria''.
* KungFuWizard: Unlike most mages, Riveria's experience allows her to cast spells while on the move and even beat foes back with her staff, averting the typical SquishyWizard trope associated with mages in Orario.
* TheMentor: She mentors Lefiya in magic.
* MoralityPet: Because of Ais's TroublingUnchildlikeBehavior, she was assigned to be this for Ais so that Ais can actually understand restraint.
* ParentalSubstitute: Of the three highest ranked members of the Loki Familia, she has the closest relationship with Ais. Loki practically pushes all of Ais personal problems onto Riveria due to how motherly she is. Loki even teases Riveria by calling her "mama".
* PersonOfMassDestruction: Like Lefiya she is capable of destroying mass numbers of monsters in an instant, in fact her first appearance in ''Sword Oratoria'' is destroying a ''massive'' monster army.
* PointyEars: She has long and pointed ears as proof that she's an elf.
* RedBaron: Nine Hells.
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: Downplayed as she is "just" 99 years old, making her young by Elf standards.
* RebelliousPrincess: Fits this trope to a T. [[IJustWanttoBeFree She found royalty life restrictive]] and her interests in TheOutsideWorld put her at odds with her [[TheHighKing father]]. What finally sets her off is when her father tear up her treasured world map, prompting her to leave her home for good.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: As a high elf, Riveria is elven royalty. She's long since abandoned the life of a royal, however, to become an adventurer.
* ShipperOnDeck: In contrast to the majority of her familia, she's in fact very encouraging of Bell/Ais since the former is able to make Ais feel emotions other than a desire to become as powerful as possible.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Her entire name can be romanized a couple of ways.
* WalkingTheEarth: What she really wanted to do when she left elf forest. Instead, she got caught up in Loki Familia simply because Loki really want an Elf in her Familia (much to Finn's chagrin). She fully intends to go back to this life once she retires [[spoiler:and bring [[HeWhoFightsMonsters Ais]] along with her]].

A Prum warrior, first-class adventurer, and one of three leaders of the Loki Familia. Captain of the Familia.
----
* AttackAttackAttack:
** The final effect of his magic, Hell Finegas, which [[TheBerserker raises fighting capability at the cost of the ability to make proper judgments]]. Being the field leader, he is naturally hesitant to use this, as one mistake could lead many of his fellow Familia members to their deaths.
** Subverted in the closing of the ''Astraea Record'' story of ''Memoria Freese''. He's simultaneously so pissed and focused on killing Valletta that he manages to hold onto his sanity even after Hell Finegas reached its peak, essentially giving him a full level up's worth of stats. He proceeds to tear a bloody swathe through multiple smaller familia under Evilus and only barely misses Valleta as she flees for dear life.
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: A quick and powerful warrior able to see the perfect route to victory in almost any situation.
* BadassAdorable: He's short, cute-looking, and generally a kind and reasonable person. He ''will'' kick your ass nine ways to Sunday if you happen to cross him.
* BladeOnAStick: Fights with a spear. Actually necessary for one of his skills, which only activates while he has a spear in hand.
* BrutalHonesty: Usually outwardly polite and amiable, but he has his moments.
-->'''Finn:''' ''[after a group of adventurers manage to piss off the Amazon sisters]'' As you can see, these girls don't have the ability to seduce anyone.
* CantHoldHisLiquor: One of the first members of his familia to get drunk during their party at the bar, not even making it past one cup despite his seniority.
* TheCaptain: He is the Captain of the Loki Familia.
* ChickMagnet: During a murder investigation it was decided that the women of the town must be body checked. All of the women immediately flocked to Fynn for the check, all of them swooning over him and spouting their adoration for the diminutive Adventurer. Keep in mind that he's ''42''.
* GoodIsNotSoft: He's affable, a ReasonableAuthorityFigure, and generally the most reliable and responsible member of the Loki Familia. This will not stop him from crushing anyone who dares to threaten the Loki Familia and Orario with brutal and overwhelming force, or even using civilians as bait to draw out the enemy and lure them into a trap. When he steps onto the battlefield personally, he's a OneManArmy who can decimate entire familia on his own.
* GoodOldFisticuffs: Resorts to these after being disarmed. It's a lot more effective than you'd expect, [[MusclesAreMeaningless being able to punch someone clear across a field when he's really trying]].
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: Is blond, friendly, and a ReasonableAuthorityFigure. Just don't get on his bad side.
* HeroesPreferSwords: While not his favorite weapon, he's still fully capable of wielding a sword with great dexterity, slicing off the legs of entire groups of acid-spewing monsters with ease while borrowing Ais's Desperate. He's also the leader of the Loki Familia's field forces.
* HeroicResolve: Two of his skills reflect this aspect of him. The first his Pallum Pride, in which his choice to face unfathomable danger for his race grants him bonuses to his magic and skills in the face of adversity. The second is Noble Brave, in which his sheer bravery and NervesOfSteel grant him a great amount of resistances against attacks on his mind.
* {{Hobbits}}: His race, the pallums/prums, are this more or less, only being even ''more'' child-like in appearance.
* HopeBringer: {{Invoked|Trope}}. Having seen the despair that had overtaken the Prum race, Finn decided to become a guiding light to the rest of his people and inspire them to greatness, so that they may once more stand up for themselves. Upon making this decision at the age of ''ten'', he [[MeaningfulRename changed his name]], underwent four years of martial training, and then joined the Loki Familia, eventually leading it to greatness and global fame.
* KissingUnderTheInfluence: He wonders if Tione is going to do this to him while he's drunk.
-->'''Fynn:''' What are you planning to do to me after I'm drunk?
* LargeAndInCharge: Subverted. He is easily the smallest member of the familia next to some girls, and is easily the most respected member of the group in regards to taking and giving orders.
* LikeGoesWithLike: For a person who works to restore the prums' pride, naturally he prefers dating another Prum instead of Tione, an amazon who is utterly smitten with him, since he needs a prum heir to continue his legacy after he's gone. [[spoiler:He eventually decides to propose to Lili, [[HopelessSuitor who rejects him in favor of Bell.]] Then he tries a bit of ReversePsychology by challenging Bell to a duel in hopes of [[ShipperOnDeck getting him closer to Lili]], but is forced to flee from Tione's advances before he could do so.]]
* MagicKnight: Despite his preference for using a spear, he has a respectable B-Rank in his Magic stat. In addition, one of his two magics, Tir na Nog, adds all of his stats, levels, and ability totals to his magical power for a one-shot thrown attack, but it can only be used once every twenty-four hours.
* MakeMeWannaShout: A subdued example, as his "Commanding Howl" skill allows him to project his voice across long-distances, suitable for his role as the main tactician and field commander.
* MeaningfulName: Finn's first name means "Fair-Haired" while his surname means "Sureness" or "Confidence", reflecting his blond hair and commanding presence as the Loki Familia's field commander.
* MeaningfulRename: Rather than being his given name, Finn is actually the name he chose when he decided to become a beacon to the rest of his people. It means "light" in the language of the Prum.
* MessyHair: His hair is noticeably messy at the sides in such a way that it's almost feminine in the novels and the anime (see above). The manga tones it down considerably, giving him a much neater and combed style that is clearly boyish in nature.
* MultiMeleeMaster: While he prefers to use his spear (since one of his skills boosts his already formidable mastery) he doesn't mind taking up Ais's sword when confronted with monsters that would melt any other weaponry if stabbed. He is also willing to go hand-to-hand if deprived of both of these, punching other Level 6 adventurers clean across entire caves, albeit breaking a finger in the process.
* NervesOfSteel: Never really seen panicking (except when Tione is making moves on him) and always finds the best course of action no matter how bleak the situation is. He can also make hard decisions such as leaving Ais to fight the boss alone while the rest of the Familia fled.
* NoGuyWantsAnAmazon: Tione is absolutely head over heels for him, but he is far from interested in dating her. In fact, he gets chills when Tione mentions that she wants to sleep in the same tent with him despite not being within earshot of the conversation.
* OlderThanTheyLook: Looks no older than a human child who just entered puberty, yet is described as having over forty years of experience. In fact, his appearance has stayed the same for over ten years as seen in one of Ais's flashbacks. Justified by the childish appearance of the Prum race (equivalent to a less hairy version of a Hobbit), and then doubled down on in Volume 8 of the Light Novels where he explains that Adventurers age slower due to their divine blessings, but it only becomes noticeable in the higher levels that most adventurers don't reach. Being a Prum just turns the effect UpToEleven.
* OneManArmy: As a first-class adventurer and the Captain of the Loki Familia, he's able to slash his way through hordes of monsters on his lonesome. In fact, with Hell Finegas active, he's the most dangerous combatant in Orario after Ottar, as the magic essentially grants him a full level up's worth of stats at the cost of his sanity... unless he's truly and utterly pissed, upon which his sheer rage lets him cling to his reasoning, allowing him to slaughter entire familia with ease.
* PurpleIsPowerful: Most of his clothing is purple and he kicks copious amounts of ass.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Gently scolds Ais for breaking formation in order to save some of the other members of the Familia but is willing to rewrite entire battle plans to accommodate her request after hearing the input of his fellow Familia commanders. While he makes hard decisions sometimes, such as leaving Ais behind to face the mutated acid-spewing monster alone, he does so with the knowledge that her indestructible sword and wind magic make her best suited for facing it and he has utmost confidence that she'll succeed. Sure enough, she does. In the ''LightNovel/DateALive'' crossover campaign of the mobile game ''Memoria Freese'', as opposed to the [[Characters/DateALiveAST Anti-Spirit Team]], he specifically ordered that both [[Characters/DateALiveShidoItsuka Shido]] and the Spirit friends that came with him are to be escorted out of the dungeon unharmed upon seeing they can be reasoned with.
* RedBaron: Is renowned as "Braver" for his NervesOfSteel despite his diminutive and flighty race.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: When his magic Hell Finnegas is activated. Boy, you do not want to cross him then.
* ReligiousAndMythologicalThemeNaming: Seems to be named after Fionn mac Cumhaill aka Deimne from Myth/CelticMythology.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Fynn or Finn, take your pick.
* TheStrategist: Part of his claim to fame is his brilliant tactical acumen to go with his NervesOfSteel. During Orario's darkest days, he's placed in charge of leading all of Orario's adventurers against Evilus despite being largely outnumbered and being forced to defend Orario's non-combatants from Evilus' rampage. Although victory came at the cost of several of the Loki Familia's veterans, he successfully [[OutGambitted out-gambits Evilus' own tactician, Valletta]] and secures victory for Orario.
* WeakButSkilled: Compared to his fellow Level 6s, his stats are somewhat below par due to his nature as a prum, known to be the weakest of the races next to humans, compensating with extreme skill and decades of combat experience instead. For reference, his stat spread includes a Dexterity stat of S-Rank: 999 while his Strength is a relatively paltry E. Nevertheless, this doesn't mean he's ''weak'', he's still a Level 6 and can punch people clear across a room and slice through the roots of a giant plant monster with ease. He's only ''relatively'' weak.
* WeaponTwirling: Can spin his spear in his hand so quickly it acts like a buzzsaw!
* WholesomeCrossdresser: In an omake where Loki makes her entire familia wear sailor uniforms after an argument with Riveria, [[https://i.redd.it/76cs1qfunqy31.png/7.html Finn pulls off the look incredibly well]]. It elicited a warm response:
-->'''Loki:''' ''[[[MemeticMutation In the]] [[http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/reaction-guys-gaijin-4koma Reaction Guys pose]]]'' It's a legal trap!\\
'''Tione:''' ''[also cheering]'' It's a real cute schoolgirl {{cosplay}}!\\
'''Narration:''' That day, [[CovertPervert Tione stepped into the realm of the gods]].
* WreckedWeapon: His Fortia Spear gets melted by the unknown monsters on the 50th Floor, but he later gets it replaced by one [[MadeOfIndestructium with the Durandal attribute like Ais's]] made by Tsubaki Collbrande, the highest level member of the Hephaestus Familia.

----
* AnAxeToGrind: Fights with an axe.
* ElvesVersusDwarves: Had a mild case of this with Riveria back when she, Gareth and Finn were the only members of Loki Familia.
* EpicFlail: Turned a ten metre long red dragon into one by grabbing its tail and spinning it around to smash into other attacking monsters.
* LargeAndInCharge: He's fairly stout but Ais, Bete, and Tiona kneel to him when ordered to.
* OurDwarvesAreAllTheSame: Fits the stereotype to a T.
* OutOfFocus: Out of the three original members of Loki Familia, he has the least focus and development of them all.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Creator/YenPress occasionally spells his name Galass.
* SuperStrength: Dwarves as a race are noted for their physical strength and as a Level 6 adventurer Gareth takes that even further. Its suggested that in terms of raw physical power he may surpass even Ottar. The best demonstration of the power is in the opening of the eighth novel, when a hit at the ground 10 meters from the enemy lines is enough to ''blow'' formations of Rakian soldiers away.
* VitriolicBestBuds: Again with Riveria. They've mellowed a lot since their rocky start but it still comes out under particularly stressful moments.

* TheGenericGuy: {{Zigzagged|Trope}}. While he is described as extremely average looking and often acts as the random Loki child, he's ''still'' a Level 4. His role in the familia is also hardly generic (if off-screen), as he works as the coordinator of Loki's rather numerous lower-ranking children.
* HeroicSelfDeprecation: Due to OvershadowedByAwesome, he has a poor opinion of his abilities that most people thinks he ''underestimates'' it.
* OvershadowedByAwesome: He's treated as generic ''because'' he's in the Loki Familia. As a Level 4, he would be a big shot elsewhere.

!Soma Familia
[[folder:In General]]
* DescentIntoAddiction: All of Soma's familia are dangerously addicted to his wine. All of them are either dangerously obsessive or violent in acquiring money, which they then use to get a taste of wine.
* DrugsAreBad: Soma's wine has thoroughly corrupted the entire familia, where they will do everything they can for money so they can taste a bit more of the intoxicating wine.
* FantasticDrug: The complete version of Soma's wine is so intoxicating that a single taste will have anyone who isn't a god devote the remainder of their lives searching for more. It is to such an extent that the members of Soma Familia are loyal not to him, but his wine.
* HateSink: Several members of the Soma familia are complete assholes who abuse Lili and [[SlaveryIsASpecialKindOfEvil treat her like a slave]]. Then after taking everything from her they [[LeftForDead leave her to die]] in the dungeon.
* KarmicDeath: In the Light Novels, Kanu and the rest of his party stole a large box from Ottar, believing it to have precious loot. What was ''actually'' inside was the Minotaur Ottar was training up and it promptly kills them all.
* SlaveryIsASpecialKindOfEvil: Their treatment of Lili. They force her to work to her limit for the tiniest scraps of food, while taking all of her earnings for themselves. And she can't even get away, as any attempts she makes to escape and start a new life have them tracking her down and ruining the lives of whatever kind people let her in. It's why Lili initially came to despise adventurers, including Bell, before she [[HeelRealization comes to realize]] he's not like other adventurers.

The God of the Soma Familia.\\\

A reclusive shrouded in mystery, Soma is rarely ever seen out in the world, and instead, spends his time solely to his hobby of wine brewing. Said hobby resulted in a failed product that was found to be highly addictive to adventurers, and caused numerous people to join his family out of necessity for the drink.
----
* AuthorityInNameOnly: It's pointed out how the followers of Soma Familia don't worship Soma himself; they're addicted to Soma's godly wine. Soma himself has no interest in anything other than making wine, so he stays apathetic to the activities of his familia and lets his captain handle everything.
* BlindingBangs: His eyes are covered by his long bangs.
* NoSocialSkills: If Loki's description is anything to go by, he doesn't talk much to anyone.
* PetTheDog: Lili bargains with him that if she was able to resist the effects of his wine, then he'd let her go. When she manages [[HeroicWillpower to achieve this feat]] by focusing on [[ThePowerOfLove her love for Bell]], he keeps his word and calls off his familia and agrees to let her leave.
* TheQuietOne: Very rarely talks, with him mostly shown brewing his wine in silence.
* RaceLift: The Soma of mythology belongs to the Hindu Pantheon, but this Soma is light-skinned.
* RestoredMyFaithInHumanity: [[spoiler:Soma had long since abandoned his Familia since he was was disappointed in them for becoming slaves to his wine. All he wanted to do was make wine; [[AntiVillain he never thought that the Soma Familia would be reduced to such wretched conditions.]] Liliruka, however, manages to resist the intoxicating power of Soma through ThePowerOfLove, and thus he permits Liliruka to transfer to Hestia's Familia. !Hephaestus Familia
[[folder:In General]]

The Hephaestus Familia is a familia or artisan blacksmiths who seek to create the ultimate weapons and armor. Getting your hands on any piece of the Hephaestus Familia's equipment is considered a luxury due to their quality and power.
----
* TheBlacksmith: A whole familia of them and one of the most well-known for it.
* NonActionGuy: Zigzagged. The majority of them aren't especially powerful adventurers, but the better smiths are at least Level 2 in order to rank up their blacksmith skill. Then there's Tsubaki Collbrande, a Level 5 Adventurer who runs into the dungeon to test out her latest works and find new materials to work with.
* UpMarketing: Downplayed. They're world-renowned as a luxury brand and its top products often go for millions of valis. But their goddess is mindful of her newer blacksmiths and less affluent customers, setting aside a portion of their shop space specifically for lower-level Blacksmiths and Adventurers so they can form partnerships and the like. The low-leveled Blacksmiths aren't actually ''allowed'' to use their goddess' brand name until they can make good products worthy of the label though.

The Goddess of the Hephaestus Familia.\\\

Hephaestus runs a familia of blacksmiths who create armor and weapons for adventurers. She is also a dear friend of Hestia, and personally creates a dagger for her friend's first familia member in order to help with Bell's growth.
----
* AbledInTheAdaptation: The original Hephaestus' legs were both crippled. This Hephaestus' disability is downgraded from being a double cripple to simply being blind in one eye.
* AdaptationalAttractiveness: In the original myths, Hephaestus was considered incredibly ugly, so much so that either Zeus or Hera (based on which version of the myth) threw him off of Mount Olympus due to his looks. In this series, Hephaestus is a HotGoddess with a voluptuous figure to complete the upgrade as part of her HistoricalGenderFlip.
* BoyishShortHair: She's a blacksmith woman who often wears masculine-style clothing and has short hair that makes her look somewhat androgynous.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindows: Her crimson eyes match her bright red hair nicely.
* DubNameChange: Downplayed a bit in the Latin American Spanish dub: Her name was changed to the Spanish rendition of the original Greek god (Hefestos[[note]][[SpellMyNameWithAnS It should be spelled in Spanish as "Hefesto"]][[/note]]), but they didn't try to change it to the correct gender (it would be either "Hefestia", "Hefesta" or "Hefestria"). Considering they didn't did the same in the original Japanese version, this is understandable.
* EyepatchOfPower: She wears one over her right eye.
* HistoricalGenderFlip: Hephaestus was a man in the original Greek myths.
* HotGoddess: One of the biggest sources of eye candy at Ganesha's ball until Freya arrived.
* InformedDeformity: Hephaestus is said to have been mocked by other gods for being ugly... Even though she's a HotGoddess just as attractive as any other goddess in the setting. Apparently, she isn't as pretty without her eyepatch on, though. [[spoiler:Shortly after this was revealed Welf removed her eyepatch and laughed... because she wasn't actually that ugly! She was simply ugly in comparison to the gods, who are an InhumanlyBeautifulRace.]]
* OddFriendship: With Hestia. They're polar opposites in that Hephaestus runs an extremely large and wealthy Familia while Hestia's is small and poor. Hephaestus is serious and diligent while Hestia is cheerful and lazy. Hephaestus is often the one lending Hestia items, money, and even Hestia's church so that the poorer goddess can get by. Yet despite all of this Hephaestus still considers Hestia a friend.
* ShortHairWithTail: She has very short hair with a upper back length tail growing out of her nape.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: The Tomboy to Hestia's Girl Girl. Hephaestus is a goddess of blacksmiths, Hestia is a goddess of hearths. Hephaestus often wears pants and has BoyishShortHair, Hestia always wears dresses and has GirlishPigtails.
* UltimateBlacksmith: She's a goddess of smithing, though her divine skillset is limited while she's on Earth.

A Level 5 Adventurer and the Head of Hephaestus Familia.

----
* AmbiguouslyBrown: Her human half is stated to be from the same area that other characters like Mikoto are from but is described as darker skinned than them as well as darker skinned than any of the shown dwarves.
* DCupDistress: Finds her large bust more of an inconvenience than anything else. This annoys [[ACupAngst Loki]] greatly.
* DeusExitMachina: During the ''Winter Reverie'' event in ''Memoria Freese'', she's by far the strongest ally Bell has during his expedition to Veltane to rescue Talvi. However, she goes off on her own to investigate the source of Veltane's polluted spring, only to get pulled under by an unseen force and thus out of the fight when she could have steamrolled all of what Veltane had to offer. Lampshaded, as Hestia admits to forgetting they brought her along along with Ridari nothing that he would have been curb-stomped by her despite being an extremely powerful Level 4 Adventurer himself.
* EmbarrassingNickname: Cyclops due to wearing an eyepatch. She doesn't like it because it makes her sound like a monster that might be found in the dungeon.
* EyepatchOfPower: Wears one over her left eye (as opposed to Hephaestus wearing one over her ''right'' eye).
* HalfHumanHybrid: Half-human, half-dwarf.
* KatanasAreJustBetter: Yields a ''tachi''.
* {{Miko}}: Evokes the look with a white top (or white Sarashi) and red hakama.
* MinoredInAssKicking:
** She's a smith by trade, but frequently goes into the dungeon to test her new weapons out on the local monsters. Her efforts to acquire the best materials and keep trying newer and more powerful weapons have made her the best mortal blacksmith in Orario and a first-class adventurer.
** When she's "test-cutting", she always puts the exact same amount of strength into every swing to properly assess her weaponry. She treats this like it were a normal thing, but Bell is awed at the amount of discipline and technique needed to do this as easily as she breathes.
* {{Sarashi}}: Wears this around her top when working in the forge.
* UltimateBlacksmith: The best (mortal) smith in the largest guild dedicated to smithing. She is the best Orario has to offer and her ultimate goal is to surpass the skills of the gods themselves.

The Goddess of the Freya Familia.\\\

Known as the Goddess of Beauty, Freya loves to tease her fellow gods, and searches out adventurers with the greatest potential to join her...even if they are already a part of another god's familia. Freya eventually catches a glimpse of Bell, and sets her eyes on him to watch over his growth in order to one day make Bell a part of her familia.
----
* AbsoluteCleavage: Taken to its logical extreme. Freya's outfit is backless and the front barely covers the sides of her upper body, exposing her stomach and most of her breasts.
* AffablyEvil: While not exactly evil, she was the main antagonistic driving force of Season 1. Nonetheless, she remains very civil and polite.
* AllergicToRoutine: While all the gods descended to the lower world to escape the boredom of the heavenly bureaucracy, Freya gets bored especially easily and is always looking for something to entertain herself. Fights to the death, being pitted against other gods, and watching Bell are some of her favorite pastimes.
* AmbiguouslyEvil: It's left vague if she's actually evil or just an extremist ThrillSeeker, but she has intentionally endangered the lives of others (especially Bell) in order to push his rapid growth that she is deeply obsessed with. This includes letting monsters run rampant in town and making the Silverback target her fellow goddess Hestia.
* ArmorPiercingSlap: [[spoiler:She defeats Ishtar by slapping her in the face, causing Ishtar to fall off the building they're in.]]
* BadGuysDoTheDirtyWork: [[spoiler: She is the one who sends Ishtar back to heaven.]]
* BeneathTheMask: She has a very different persona in private, dropping her polite visage in favor of being [[{{Yandere}} dangerously obsessive]] over Bell to stalker levels.
* ChallengeSeeker: One of her favorite methods of overcoming boredom is to be in a situation that's actually challenging to her and her familia. While being treated to the finest luxuries is positively mundane to her, the idea of potentially ''losing'' is absolutely riveting.
* CharmPerson: Capable of making men, women and even monsters fall for her.
* TheChooserOfTheOne: With [[TheChosenOne the one she chooses being Bell Cranel]], where she becomes obsessed with making him more powerful.
* ClingyJealousGirl: When she watched Bell and Ais dance together in a banquet hosted by the Apollo familia, she seriously considered unleashing a herd of minotaurs until Ottar informed her how bad of an idea that was. [[spoiler:And then there's what she does to Ishtar.]]
* CombatStilettos: Subverted in Book 7. Though she does not actually fight in them. She navigates the warzone between her and [[spoiler: Ishtar's familia with ease in her high heels. Their clicking is especially noted as she pursues and eventually defeats Ishtar.]]
* TheDreaded: Despite how uninvolved she usually is in the disputes between Gods, all the other Gods consider her this. Her familia is at the top of the food chain and could easily crush any other with the possible exception of the Loki Familia if she actually felt motivated to do so. The destruction of the Ishtar Familia was a major reminder of that for all the others.
* EvenEvilHasStandards:
** She released the monsters during the festival, but enchanted them so they would not harm anyone (their only purpose being a distraction while the Silverback went after Bell): she was aghast to learn people had been hurt by one monster.
** She ''strongly'' considered crushing the Apollo familia for their crimes against Hestia and Bell, especially once they openly rampaged through town, caring not a whit about the collateral damage, but then decided the "war games" was a NecessarilyEvil roadblock Bell has to face in his growth. To her credit, she's ultimately proven right.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: She makes a grand appearance at the Gods' Banquet, has a brief conversation with Hestia about Bell, then departs after loudly declaring [[ReallyGetsAround she's had her fill of all the men present.]]
* FashionableAsymmetry: Her outfit includes one split pant leg for one of her legs and a detached pant leg for the other.
* FriendlyEnemy: She is not exactly going out of her way to kill those that get close to Bell, nor is that even her goal, but she doesn't mind if people get hurt, as long as she can see Bell act cool.
* {{Glamour}}: The explanation given for why her CharmPerson ability wasn't taken away like the other gods' Arcanum. The only real difference between her's and the {{Glamour}} that TheFairFolk used is that it's innate. Just as the gods' {{Immortality}} is not taken away, neither is the glamour of the Goddess of Beauty. The two are synonymous, and either way [[LoopholeAbuse its not among her Arcanum, so it cannot be taken away]].
* GlowingEyesOfDoom: How her charm powers activate.
* GoneHorriblyRight: She releases the monsters during the festival as basically a diversion so no one interferes with Bell's fight, she even charms them so they won't actually hurt anyone, except Bell, so [[NotMeThisTime she is quite shocked to hear that a monster started attacking people]]. [[spoiler:Turns out she wasn't the only one who released monsters.]]
* HotGoddess: The goddess of beauty would fit this trope, but it seems just her presence will make anyone near her become enraptured, even Ais almost fell for it.
* ILoveYouBecauseICantControlYou: When she's informed that Bell is ImmuneToMindControl, she's ''ecstatic.''
* InLoveWithYourCarnage: Lets' just say she was "[[TheImmodestOrgasm enjoying]]" Bell's fight with the minotaur.
* INeedYouStronger: She works behind the scenes to make Bell stronger, such as having Ottar train a Minotaur and then has it chase Bell down, all for the sake of getting turned on by his fast growth in power.
* KarmaHoudini: Freya managed to get Loki, the only person who managed to connect Freya to the monsters that rampaged in town, off her back by bribing her with an extremely rare item that Loki was looking for. By the time Loki realizes it, it's too late for her to do anything, and she begrudgingly warns Hestia to keep Bell as far away from Freya as possible.
* LethalChef: Freya's cooking is horrendous. That is to say, she has no idea at all when it comes to it. Anything she makes is lethal enough to banish a god back to Heaven with one bite. The only reason anyone is willing to try anything she makes is because... [[WorldsMostBeautifulWoman she's Freya]].
* LivingAphrodisiac: If she touches you, she can cause [[JizzedInMyPants orgasms so strong the recipient will pass out,]] and you will be completely under [[CharmPerson her spell.]]
* LoveAtFirstSight:
** Towards Bell. Considering her persona however...Bell may not have been the first. Ironically she inspires this in everyone.
** In the first book, Freya mentions her new infatuation while having lunch with Loki, who thinks something along the lines of 'Ah, crap. Here we go again'. Apparently, Freya has a history of love at first sight, and obsessively pursuing the object of affection, even if they belong to another Familia; it usually doesn't end well for said object. Given that she's already put Bell into several near-death situation just to watch him 'perform' for her, it's a good bet she normally pursues them to death. Note that her most devoted Familia member, Ottar, [[spoiler:is the only living Level 7 adventurer. Maybe a similar pursuit by Freya is how he got that way...]]
** In the third novel, Ottar reveals that [[spoiler:Freya has indeed does this before. However, her obsession with Bell is clearly different from the other times, and Ottar notes that if Bell dies, she may well abandon everything else just to follow him to Heaven.]]
* MysticalWhiteHair: Has snow-white hair and is possibly the most influential goddess in Orario.
* MythologyGag: Freya has an innate ability to see a person's potential, or 'eyes of true colors', and since it's innate, it's not considered part of her Arcanum and she can use it freely. It's a source of great frustration for Loki, as it makes Freya an infallible talent spotter; the only hope is to get a powerful warrior before Freya sees them, though even that won't stop her if she wants that warrior badly enough - it's stated that Freya's not above outright poaching. In Norse Mythology, Freya is Queen of the Valkyries - those that choose the souls of the worthy dead from the battlefields, literally talent-spotting the warriors worthy of Valhalla.
* NotMeThisTime: She released several monsters during the festival so one of them could attack Bell to unleash his hidden potential, while the rest were a distraction. However she made sure the monsters wouldn't harm anyone. She's shocked to learn there was a plant monster that injured Lefiya, which was not among the ones she released.
* ThePornomancer: Sex is literally her power.
* RapunzelHair: Her hair reaches down to her hips.
* RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver: While she's more of a creepy stalker than outright evil, her outfit is primarily black with red details.
* RoomFullOfCrazy: A gag manga shows her having a room that has everything with Bell's face on it.
* ScrewTheRulesIHaveMoney: According to the eighth novel, the Guild gave the Freya Familia a large fine for flattening the Pleasure Quarter and causing a lot of disruption. For a goddess who can afford the rent for a penthouse on TheTower, she'd afford it since (at least to her) it's [[StalkerWithACrush for Bell's sake]].
* SexyBacklessOutfit: Her gown leaves her back bare.
* SingleTargetSexuality: She could easily seduce any man if she wanted, but she's focusing all her attention on Bell and secretly helping him increase his skills.
* StalkerWithACrush: Can be seen as such towards Bell, who she is deeply obsessed with. Her stalker tendencies are actually so intense that it gave Bell the ability to sense when someone was watching him.
* TranquilFury: She never loses her calm and graceful demeanor as she and her Familia raid the Pleasure quarter. It is still made clear that she's pissed off that Ishtar would dare to steal Bell from under her nose.
* TheVamp: An incredibly dangerous predator. If Bell is a rabbit, then Freya is a fox.
* VaporWear: Her skimpy clothes make clear that she's wearing no bra or panties.
* VillainessesWantHeroes: Whether she's actually a villain is debatable, but what is certain is that she wants Bell for herself, and she has nothing wholesome in mind.
* VillainousRescue: She rescues Bell by preemptively attacking Ishtar's Familia, in part to stop Ishtar's arrogance that she could somehow beat the former. But it was mostly due to Ishtar kidnapping Bell which prompted her to utterly crush Ishtar once and for all.
* WhiteHairBlackHeart: She's a prominent villainous figure, a {{Yandere}} stalker and a white-haired goddess.
* WorldsMostBeautifulWoman: As the Goddess of Beauty, this is a given.
* {{Yandere}}: She sees anyone who comes between her and Bell, mortal or divine, as a threat she needs to crush immediately.

A Boaz (Half-Pig beastman) of the Freya Familia.\\\

As a loyal adventurer to Freya, Ottar subjugates a minotaur (a different one from the minotaur Ais kills in the introduction), and sends it after Bell for training.
----
* BerserkButton: Don't ''ever'' claim to be more beautiful than Freya in front of Ottar. Especially if your a delusional {{Gonk}}.
* {{BFS}}: His preferred weapons tend to be giant two-handed swords almost as long as he is tall.
* BringIt: To Ais.
-->'''Ottar:''' ''[to Ais]'' Come, Sword Princess.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: He shows up in the dungeon [[spoiler:searching for the right Minotaur to duel with Bell]] and catches the swing from one of the Minotaur with '''''one bare hand''''', then promptly '''''squeeze''''' its weapon to pieces without breaking a sweat. This even send dread down on the Minotaur. It establishes Ottar as an otherworldly strong character.

** He later replaces it with the [[BlackSwordsAreBetter Supreme Black Sword]], an order-made weapon costing a whopping 410,000,000 valis. It was crafted from the sword of the Udaeus, the Monster Rex of the 37th floor.

* DareToBeBadass: Leaves Fynn and the Loki Familia with one [[spoiler:which reflects Bell's decision to face the Minotaur alone and "go on an adventure."]]
-->'''Ottar:''' Break out of your shell. Reject the help of others and face your own adventure. The only direction you need to look is forward.
* DrillSergeantNasty: Acts as one towards a minotaur he selects to train against Bell. He ends up breaking one of its horns during the training session.
* TheDreaded: He's so powerful that the prospect of fighting him head-on is tantamount to a death sentence. Even Ais is reluctant to fight him.
* EveryoneHasStandards: In ''Memoria Freese'', Zald notes that he admires Ottar's barbarousness and willingness to kill anyone at the drop of a hat for his goddess. But even Ottar is stunned when Zald and Alfia, proud members of the Zeus and Hera Familia who once made Orario a paradise, are trying to bring about its destruction.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: Once a nameless and abandoned child left to die in the cold, Ottar grew to become Freya's champion and the most feared adventurer in Orario.
* HappilyAdopted: When he was a child, he was abandoned to freeze and starve to death by his parents. Freya found him, took him into her arms, and nursed him back to health. She gave him everything: a home, food, emotional warmth, and even his name. This is the reason for his UndyingLoyalty to her.
* LightningBruiser: All of his physical stats are S Rank and at the cap or near it. As a fighter, he has virtually no weaknesses, and can easily repel even Ais in a contest of swordsmanship.
* LittleBitBeastly: As a Boaz, he has a pig's ears, but is otherwise humanoid.
* KnowWhenToFoldEm: He bars Ais's attempts to intervene when [[spoiler:the Minotaur he trained attacks Bell]]. He's then confronted by Bete, Tione, and Tiona who hold him off while Ais rushes to save the younger adventurer. While he was willing to fight all of them, he backs down once Fynn and Riveria show up to intervene, knowing that even he can't take on all of them at once.
* MasterSwordsman: Fights with a sword and repels all of Ais's attacks with only limited effort despite her status as a legendary swordswoman and genius.
* MusclesAreMeaningful: He's ripped to kingdom come and can wield his {{BFS}} with just one hand.
* NoSell: Easily repelled everything Ais could throw at him. When facing down Phryne, a Level 5 Adventurer, he effortlessly stops her attacks, which have slain thousands of other high-level adventurers.
* RedBaron: "King" [[spoiler:for being the strongest Adventurer in Orario.]] He's also referred to as Warlord by other adventurers.
* ReligiousAndMythologicalThemeNaming: Ottar is named after Ottar the Simple who was a protégé of Freya in Norse mythology.
* SleevesAreForWimps: His normal attire completely lacks sleeves to show off his bulging arms. He only covers up for formal events where he's expected to look proper.
* ShutUpHannibal: To avoid certain doom, [[spoiler: Phyrne tries to seduce Ottar but she made the fatal mistake by saying she is more beautiful than Freya. Ottar is not happy about that and delivers a devastating punch that will make that evil woman more ugly than before.]]
* SuperMode: His Vana Arganture skill allows him to beastify to raise his already monstrous stats even further at the cost of a large chunk of stamina and Mind.
* UndyingLoyalty: To Freya. So much so that [[AxCrazy merely encountering an adventurer from a different Familia in the dungeon is enough to make him want to kill them.]] [[spoiler:Woe betide you if you happen to call yourself more beautiful than Freya, as Phyrne found out the hard way.]]

The God of the Miach Familia.\\\

Miach is a close friend of Bell and Hestia, and provides a potion shop for adventurers.
----
* BenevolentBoss: Turned down an invitation to one of Ganesha's events in order to deal with his financial problems.
-->'''Miach:''' I got an invitation. But my Familia is struggling for money at the moment. I can't leave them at this stressful time.
* CluelessChickMagnet: Has no idea of how popular he is.
* HotGod: He's a god that's quite popular with the ladies.
* MythologyGag: In Irish mythology, Miach was (temporarily) killed, and 365 medicinal herbs sprang from his grave; the herbs corresponded to whichever body part they were intended to treat and heal. Mythologically speaking, Miach's body is one of the foundations of pharmacology and alchemy... or, y'know, potions for healing and use in battle.
* NiceGuy: The nicest God introduced and one of the nicest characters, if not the nicest. In fact, he's so nice that he frequently hands out free potions to people he meets despite his debts, [[DeconstructedTrope putting his familia in the red.]] This forces Naza to swindle naive newbie adventurers like Bell with watered down potions in order to save money.
* ObliviousToLove: To Naza's displeasure, though she also finds it somewhat good because he's too popular with women.
* PerpetualPoverty: Among the poorest of the descended gods, it was not always the case though. That said, [[spoiler:Nahza's winning the War Game bet]] seems to have improved the familia's fortunes quite a bit.

The captain of Miach Familia. She sells potions.
----
* ArtificialLimbs: Her right arm was replaced with an artificial one after she lost her real one.
* CareerEndingInjury: She used to be an Adventurer before she lost her right arm. While she's still more than capable of fighting monsters, the trauma from her experience has prevented her from ever setting foot in the Dungeon again.
* DemotedToExtra: In Season 1, she appears in at least one scene but has no speaking lines. This is despite her being a regular supporting character in the novels and even having a short story that goes over her backstory. This is so bad that in Season 2 when she plays a role in helping Bell, a lot of viewers were left wondering who she was.
* EasilyForgiven: After she tries to swindle Bell out of a love of valis by selling him diluted potions, Bell readily forgives her because her previous potions had saved his life on multiple occasions.
* ItsAllMyFault: She blames herself for the decline of her Familia.
* LittleBitBeastly: As a member from the Chienthrope race, she's a woman with dog ears and tail.
* LongRangeFighter: She fights with bow and arrows. This is rather useful when her intervention [[spoiler:prevents Bell from being killed by Hyacinthus.]]
* MythologyGag: In the myth of Miach, one of his greatest achievements as a healer was replacing the hero Nuada's artificial arm with one of flesh and blood. Managing such an outstanding artificial arm without his Arcanum might very well be an equivalent achievement in universe.
* RagsToRiches: [[spoiler:She's one of the few people in all of Orario to bet on Bell and Hestia Familia during the War Games in sixth novel / second season on the anime. It's heavily implied that her winnings are a huge, life-changing amount of money.]]
* RetiredBadass: She was a level 2 Adventurer before she was traumatized by the loss of her arm. Now, she only makes money by selling potions and gives occasional long-range support in battle outside the Dungeon by firing arrows.
* SnakeOilSalesman: She resorts to this to make more money for her familia, diluting her potions and covering it up with spices so she can make more with less, albeit with reduced potency. Naza goes so far as to try to swindle Bell with this after sending him into the dungeon to retrieve a rare item. Lili, once a ConMan herself, calls her out on this, but Naza retorts that it's the only way to keep her familia afloat.

A healer originally from the Apollo familia but joins the Miach familia after Apollo's banishment.
----
* BaitTheDog: An accidental case. She was ''really'' looking forward to joining Hestia familia because Bell actually believed her when she mentioned her prophetic dream about losing her pillow somewhere on what was once the Apollo mansion, went to look for it, found it, and returned to her. Then she and Daphne learn how Hestia has a massive debt, and Daphne drags her off, stating that joining a familia with such terrible financial problems is not a good idea.
* TheCassandra: Like her namesake, her dreams are often prophetic--but nobody believes in her, with the exception of Bell.
* IWarnedYou: She knew that her familia would lose, and wasn't happy with how no one listened to her.
* PeekABangs: Her hair hides half her face.
* ReligiousAndMythologicalThemeNaming: Her name is derived from Cassandra, the princess of Troy and a prophetess who was cursed by Apollo to never have her prophecies believed.
* {{Seers}}: She has symbolic visions of the future.
* StockholmSyndrome: She hates the way she was "recruited" to the Apollo Familia, and is treated like absolute dirt, but she's still unflinchingly loyal and devoted, throwing herself into the fray to protect her abuser. If this were reality, she'd be diagnosed with "battered spouse syndrome."

* DespairEventHorizon: Passed it upon being forced to join Apollo Familia, alongside Cassandra. She even tells Bell and Hestia "you have my condolences" when delivering the invite to the "Gods Feast" that she knew would lead to Apollo doing the same to Bell.
* DontMakeMeDestroyYou: Orders Bell to surrender and allow himself to be dragged off to Apollo Familia. She then attacks him with magic when he refuses.
* ItsProbablyNothing: Is continuously dismissive of Cassandra's warnings, despite being well are that she has prophetic dreams. (This may possibly be out a subconscious desire for Cassandra's warnings of disaster for the Apollo Familia to come true)
* JustFollowingOrders: How she justifies taking part in the assault upon Hesita's church, stating she has no choice but to follow Apollo's orders.
* MotiveRant: Yells at Bell how resisting Apollo's "recruitment" is a fool's errand.
* ReligiousAndMythologicalThemeNaming: In Greek mythology, Daphne was a naiad (fresh water nymph) literally pursued by Apollo [[RapeAsDrama against her will]]; just as Apollo was about to capture her, she pleaded with her father, a river god, to save her at any cost. The god of the Takemikazuchi Familia.
----
* AFatherToHisMen: Worries more about the safety of his familia than some of the other gods, and as such, often wants them to prioritize protecting each other more than getting loot.
* AwesomeByAnalysis: His domain allows him to deconstruct any martial technique he's watched at least once. In ''Memoria Freese'', this talent allows him to assist Bell by pinpointing the weakness in Ridari's sword drawing technique, commissioning Tsubaki to make Bell an armor specifically to counter it.
* BadassTeacher: As a War God, he's far more combat capable than the average god. He also taught his numerous secret techniques to his children and sparring with them to help them grow stronger.
* CluelessChickMagnet: One savvy goddess even suggests that both he and Miach probably should't be allowed to talk to women.
* DangerousForbiddenTechnique: PlayedForLaughs. Dogeza is the signature technique of Takemikazuchi. When his Familia perform it before Hestia, the narration refers to it as their "ultimate technique".
* HotGod: Is considered to be pretty attractive, though he himself is unaware of it.
* ObliviousToLove: Doesn't realize that Mikoto has feelings for him, and does a lot of actions with the opposite sex that would be considered flirting if it wasn't for the fact he probably doesn't realize what it looks like.
* OrphanageOfLove: He runs an orphanage in his shrine in Far East, and Mikoto's backstory shows it's not bad at all. It's also the reason why he and some of his children are living in Orario-- Shrine donations can't catch up with orphanage expenses, so he has to bring some of his stronger children to Orario to earn money from DungeonCrawling.
* PerpetualPoverty: He is one of the poorest gods in Orario, mainly because he has to support an {{orphanage|ofLove}} at home as well.

* LargeAndInCharge: He's TheLeader with a HeroicBuild.
* MyGreatestFailure: Is not happy about having been forced to run away and then luring his attackers onto Bell's party. As a result, he intercepts an attack on Bell by the Goliath, saving him in the process, but suffers a devastating attack in the process.

* BigGood: Sleaziness aside, he is the most concerned with the wellbeing of Bell and Orario. While not directly participating in the action himself, he lends a subtle guiding hand to help the heroes out.
* TheChessmaster: The events of the seventh novel is basically him manipulating several Familia (amongst them Freya's) to [[RapeAndRevenge get even for Ishtar raping him earlier]].
* DoubleStandardRapeFemaleOnMale: Averted, at least in the anime. When Ishtar ''forces him'' into her bed, and uses her CharmPerson powers to interrogate him, it's not played for laughs or titillation, at all. He is shown to be clearly traumatized.
* EngineeredHeroics: [[spoiler:Hermes has been watching over Bell for some time and plans to make him the "final hero" needed to bring an end to the threat of monsters once and for all. * HandsomeLech: He's a total pervert. Most of the women he meets are exasperated by him and his flirting.
* HotGod: As a god, he's pretty much by default handsome by mortal standards.
* HumansAreBastards: In episode 12 he provides a group of jealous adventurers with a helmet of invisibility (made by Asfi) so that they can manipulate Bell into a very unfair duel. He tells Asfi that it is so that Bell can learn about the dark side of humanity.
* ItAmusedMe: Some of the things he does towards Bell, such as secretly luring him to a spot to peek on the women while they were bathing, which he was totally against. He later reveals to Ishtar Freya's obsession with Bell, prompting her to kidnap him and incurring Freya's wrath as a result.
* LovableSexManiac: It's kind of hard to deny... He often visits the red light district, and tries to get Bell to peek on the girls while they're bathing.
* NiceHat: He wears a fedora hat with a feather decorating it.
* NoSell: Downplayed. He's one of many male gods captivated by Freya, but he's not so far-gone that he doesn't notice her actions or questions her motive when she does something unusual.
* RomanticWingman: At a party, he set Bell and Ais up to dance together while preventing their respective goddesses from interrupting them for as long as possible. He does this knowing full well what the consequences are, given the goddesses' respective temperaments and their own affections toward their respective followers.
* SecretTest: Unbeknownst to Bell, he manipulated the situation in episode 12 in order to test Bell's worthiness as [[spoiler:Zeus' adoptive grandson]].
* TricksterMentor: He tries to be this to Bell. Unfortunately, Hermes seems to think that Bell is like him when it comes to women, which... he's not. At least his non-romantic advice is helpful?
* VitriolicBestBuds: With Takemikazuchi.
* WalkingTheEarth: He's not in Orario often because he travels a lot, as befits the Olympians' Divine Messenger (there's a reason he's on the Interflora vans; one of the first great delivery services other than pizza).

* BadassBookworm: Besides her GadgeteerGenius credentials, Asfi is a highly capable warrior... ''and'' she's the leader of the Hermes Familia. Plus she seems to be the only mortal who can tell Hermes what to do, if only occasionally.
* BeleagueredAssistant. Poor, poor, Asfi. Her god is hardly around, so pretty much all of the work a god would normally do for their familia falls on her. And when he ''is'' around, she gets pulled around in his schemes, frustrating her as she pretty much gets no say in it. And to top it all of, he's also pervert enough to engage in being ThePeepingTom.
* TheDragon: Her relationship with Hermes, in his aspects as a TricksterGod and {{Chessmaster}}, has heavy shades of this.
* GadgeteerGenius: Asfi is renowned as one of the five greatest Item Makers alive, meaning she's a combination of inventor and artisan. Her winged sandals are her most impressive creation.
* HyperCompetentSidekick: She's the one who cleans up messes that Hermes gets himself into.
* MercurysWings: Her sandals are a magic item created by herself, named Talaria. Her sandals have wings at the ankles that can grow in size and give her the ability to fly.

* ReligiousAndMythologicalThemeNaming: Her surname is Andromeda, and her God-Given Nickname is Perseus. In Greek mythology, Andromeda became the wife of the hero Perseus after a RescueRomance. Also, in the myth one of the reasons Perseus survived was because he was gifted a pair of winged sandals by Hermes; Asfi's sandals have wings that enable her to fly, just like the mythical Perseus - in a twist to this version, it's noted that Asfi crafted them herself (see GadgeteerGenius).

The Goddess of the Ishtar Familia.
----
* AlwaysSecondBest: She hates being this to Freya: having the lowest of Familias while Freya is widely respected, being less beautiful than Freya, and only having one top class adventurer while Freya has loads. [[spoiler:In fact she tries to charm Bell into her slave just to tick her off... which ends in Freya invading and curb-stomping her Familia in retaliation and Freya herself personally sending Ishtar back to Tenkai.]]
* AmbiguouslyBrown: She has dark skin, but we know nothing about her race and/or ethnicity beyond that though IRL, Ishtar is a Goddess from Mesopotamia, which is middle-Eastern.
* ArcVillain: She's the main villain of Volume 7.
* AttemptedRape: [[spoiler:She tries to force herself on Bell just to piss off Freya.]]
* BadBoss: If Haruhime has anything to say. [[spoiler: Aisha, too.]]
* BullyingADragon: Ishtar is well aware that she's vastly weaker than Freya, whether in a straight up fight, or familia vs famila. Yet, going by Freya's testimony, which Ishtar doesn't dispute, Ishtar has a long history of "pranking" Freya. Messing with Bell was just the last straw.
* CharmPerson: As a goddess of beauty, she has the same ability as Freya. She activates it by stripping nude. [[spoiler:It has no effect on Bell, much to her shock.]]
* CorneredRattlesnake: Nowhere to run, and no minions to hide behind, she lunges at Freya, hoping to do ''some'' damage, especially since Freya rightly states that Ishtar's inferiority is due to the latter's lack of elegance. It doesn't help.
* CurbStompBattle: [[spoiler:Freya completely cripples her Familia and sends her back to Tenkai in one night.]]
* DirtyCoward: She abandons her Familia and tries to sprint when Freya retaliates. She ends up suffering a mortal fall after a feeble attempt at striking Freya.
* DisneyVillainDeath: Freya confronts Ishtar on a staircase overlooking the Pleasure Quarter. She then slaps the latter, causing her to lose her balance and fall down to her banishment back to heaven.
* DressHitsFloor: Whenever she strips to seduce someone, the camera only shows her skirt falling to the floor.
* DrivenByEnvy: She wants war against the Freya Familia, using the Killing Stone to Level boost her own Familia, because she's madly jealous that everyone considers Freya a more beautiful goddess than her. She also orders to kidnap Bell and plans to make him her SexSlave to piss off Freya. She then finds out she took it too far when Freya launches an attack on her familia.
* EvilCounterpart:
** While Freya isn't entirely good, Ishtar is in many ways a much darker version of Freya. They share a lot of tropes. This is likely based on their mythology; while both are goddesses of fertility, sexual desire, and love, Ishtar is also a WarGoddess and has close ties to her Pantheon's underworld, while Freya is the leader of the Valkyries (who choose the worthy slain ''after'' death) and has associations with music and flowers.
** Also to Hestia. While both are consider {{LoserDeit|y}}es with bad reputations among their fellow gods, the similarities end there. Hestia is a virgin goddess who struggled to recruit any members into her familia, while Ishtar is a prostitute who runs a brothel familia and expands her ranks by buying slaves or through kidnapping. Hestia is kindhearted, and while she can be clingy and jealous, will ultimately do the right thing. Ishtar is a BitchInSheepsClothing and is vile to the core. While Hestia has her eyes set on one boy, Ishtar is only concerned with acquiring as many prostitutes as her assets as possible.
* EvilIsPetty: Why does she want to sacrifice Haruhime in a way that would ''permanently destroy her soul'' for a cheap power-up to launch a war on Freya? She resents the fact that people see Freya as prettier than herself.
* FemmeFatalons: She has long, black nails and is ''the'' portrayal of TheVamp in this series.
* HateSink: [[JerkassGods Goddess Ishtar herself]] resents the fact that Goddess Freya is viewed as far more beautiful and elegant than herself. To spite the latter, she frames her for unleashing a bunch of dangerous monsters in the town and sets up shop in the pleasure district to run it like a mafia. She creates a system of forced prostitution, kidnapping both women (to serve as prostitutes) and men (to serve as "clients" against their will). She also traffics in slavery and has her slaves suffer the same fate. Then, for a cheap power-up, she sacrifices those slaves in a deadly ritual, taking and destroying their souls to boost her forces for total war on Freya. Lastly, she has her slaves beaten half-to-death, and then rapes them herself, to remove all ability they might have to refuse whatever she might order of them. The last straw is when she has [[TheHero Bell]] kidnapped and threatened with rape twice. Vindictive, petty, and cruel, Goddess Ishtar is meant to be universally loathed on both sides of the fourth wall.
* HotGoddess: Her beauty rivals that of Freya. That said, while she eclipses almost everyone else, Freya has her beat in that regard. [[spoiler:This is proven during their final confrontation in which all of her followers had their charms easily overwritten by Freya, making it clear beyond a shadow of a doubt that Freya was more beautiful.]]
* IControlMyMinionsThrough: Abuse, of all kinds, blackmail, enslavement, forced prostitution, mind-control, and rape. Despite all this being public knowledge, she has the gall to be confused, indignant, and outraged that ''nobody'' likes her.
* JerkassGod: She makes '''Apollo''' seem like a NiceGuy by comparison. For all his nastiness, at least Apollo doesn't force his familia into prostitution, nor does he force them into HumanSacrifice rituals for a cheap power-up to go after other gods over a petty grudge.
* MagicalBarefooter: Like Hestia, Ishtar is a goddess who walks around barefoot.
* MesopotamianMonstrosity: Originates from Myth/MesopotamianMythology, and while not ''physically'' monstrous, her moral vileness more than makes up for it, as she's easily worse than any other deity introduced before her (even ''Apollo'').
* NeverMyFault: In her eyes, her plans going awry is never her doing, it's always someone or something else. When she forcefully reveals Bell's stats and skills, she ''loudly proclaims he's mocking her'' because his Realis Phrase makes him ImmuneToMindControl.
* RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil: Not only has she personally engaged in the act, but she encourages members of the Familia to do the same. And she is all the more vile because of it.
* SmokingIsGlamorous: She's a topless sex goddess who is often shown smoking from a kiseru pipe.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Just ''look'' at that outfit; being a goddess is probably the only reason she doesn't constantly suffer wardrobe malfunctions. Then again, it ''is'' designed to be easily removed...
* UnknownRival: Ishtar views her fellow goddess of beauty and sex Freya as her ultimate rival who she must take out so the Lower World will only see her as the most beautiful goddess. On the other hand, Freya only sees her as a minor nuisance... That is until Ishtar takes her "pranks" too far by kidnapping Freya's favorite boy Bell.
* TheVamp: Just like Freya, she is aware of her good looks and likes to use them to her advantage. When her Amazonesses drag Bell back to their home, they all try to hide him from her for fear that she'll snatch him up instead.
* VilerNewVillain: If you thought Apollo from the previous arc was a piece of work...
* VillainessesWantHeroes: Non-romantic example. She attempts to [[CharmPerson charm]] Bell into joining her, and unlike Freya, a lot of the things she does are unambiguously wrong.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: She doesn't wear a shirt or any form of decent top. She only has a thin piece of clothing around her neck to cover her naughty bits.

[[caption-width-right:350:As I thought, you're delicious!]]

A member of the Ishtar Familia. Being Level 5, she's amongst the most powerful characters in the setting.
----
* ZeroPercentApprovalRating: She is strong so she becomes the captain, but the qualification stops there and overall, she is unpopular among her familia.
* {{Acrofatic}}: She is incredibly fast and agile despite her disproportionately short limbs; Justified as she is a level 5 with much higher agility stats than Bell.
* AnimalMotif: She's often compared to a toad, and certainly acts like one, in addition to simply looking like one.
* AxCrazy: She's demonstrably unstable. In battle, she attacks with wild abandon, living for the thrill of causing as much carnage as possible.
* AnAxeToGrind: She fights with war-axes.
* BadIsGoodAndGoodIsBad: The reason she thinks she's "beautiful" is purely going by the sheer number of notches she has on her bedpost. She cares not a whit that said "notches" were kidnapped, dragged into her self-proclaimed love-nest against their will, pumped full of terror-inducing drugs and/or aphrodisiacs, and horribly tortured until they can't perform, ever again. She calls Haruhime "ugly" because she's aware that Haruhime's ''a virgin'' since Haruhime's clients leave when she passes out from ParalyzingFearOfSexuality.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: Demands Haruhime intervene in her fight with Bell by using her "Level-boost" spell. [[spoiler: Haruhime does, [[TheDogBitesBack by casting it on Bell instead]]. Cue an epic NoHoldsBarredBeatdown on Phryne.]]
* BlasphemousBoast: She's so delusional, she'd compare [[{{Gonk}} her own "beauty"]] to that of [[HotGod Freya]]. Saying this in front of Freya's children bites her royally in the ass, as they do ''not'' take kindly such blasphemy about their goddess.
* BrawnHilda: She's huge and has a frog-like face. This is especially egregious in that she views herself as a BigBeautifulWoman.
* DoubleStandardRapeFemaleOnMale: Utterly averted. The story goes out of its way to let us know how horrible, degrading and traumatic being the unwilling object of her twisted, sadistic affections is.
* EvilSoundsRaspy: She has a low, raspy voice.
* TheFightingNarcissist: In addition to thinking she's the most beautiful woman alive, she thinks she's the best fighter, ever, and is always itching to show off. To hammer home the point, she goes completely postal when her cheek is scratched by Bell as the two fight over Haruhime.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Nobody in the Ishtar Familia likes her. But she's so strong they can't (and Ishtar won't) get rid of her.
* {{Gonk}}: Even in the novels, she's described to have a boulder-like body, and relative to that size her limbs are too short and her head too large. The anime makes her look like an entirely different art style and that she should belong in a different series altogether. When Bell first sees her, [[LampshadeHanging he wonders if she was a monster]].
* GreenAndMean: Her clothes are green and she's the absolute most repulsive villain in the series.
* HateSink: She is a [[{{Gonk}} giant toad-like woman]] who has deluded herself into thinking she's [[WorldsMostBeautifulWoman the most beautiful woman to ever live]], even more than both goddesses of beauty. She [[AxCrazy enjoys beating her fellow familia members half-to-death]] whether Ishtar orders her to do it or not, and also does the same to whoever crosses her, especially those men who escape her "affection". Said affection consists of kidnapping men either off the street or in the Orario dungeon, dragging them to a torture chamber in the basement of the Ishtar estate, pumping them full of terror and aphrodisiacs, and then torturing them until she gets bored, leaving them a broken, bloody, and permanently impotent mess. She not only happily chains up Haruhime and tries to kill her in a HumanSacrifice ritual, but slaps her around for the tiniest resistance, real or imagined. A woman so disgusting that even her own familia members would kill her if they could, Phryne Jamil is written to be loathed by both the fanbase and her many victims.
* HoistByHerOwnPetard: In two ways.
** First, she provides the sword to be used in killing Haruhime and placing her soul in the Killing Stone. Bell uses this sword in battle against her.
** Second, in the anime, her own girth and penchant for stomping craters in the ground while fighting allows Bell to ''literally'' beat her down, by slamming her through the stone floor into the level below, [[FromBadToWorse where she runs into Ottar.]]
* IRejectYourReality: She is ''completely delusional.'' She honestly believes that she's the most beautiful woman in the world, bar none, and that the men she "tastes" are not traumatized to the point of complete impotence, but so utterly love-struck that they won't be "satisfied" by anyone else. It doesn't matter who calls her out on this, or even if she looks in a freaking mirror. There is no way to change her mindset, at all.
* IronicName: As most fans of ''Series/MissFishersMurderMysteries'' know, Phryne was the name of an extraordinarily beautiful and extremely successful courtesan of ancient Greece. ''This'' Phryne most certainly '''isn't'''.
* KarmicDeath: She has a long, long history of brutalizing men, in ways mental, physical, and sexual, purely to boost her delusion that she's the most beautiful woman alive. Battered and bloody, she runs into the top Freya warriors (just Ottar in the anime), and brags that she's the most beautiful woman when she realizes she can't win a fight, only for them to shatter her delusions, along with her skull, and with disgusting ease.
* LecherousLicking: When she's got Bell in her "love nest" torture dungeon, she ''literally'' tastes him by walking in, dripping drool all over the place, and licks his entire face, covering him with saliva, and then points at all her torture implements saying "now where should we start?"
* NamedAfterSomebodyFamous: She's named after the famous 4th century Greek courtesan Phryne.
* {{Narcissist}}: She thinks she's more beautiful than Freya.
* OhCrap: She gets one when she sees Ottar walking towards her in the anime.
* RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil: She tries to make off with Bell so she can "eat" him in Volume 7. It's also implied that [[SerialRapist this isn't the first time she's done this]]... only the first time she's failed.
* {{Sadist}}: She has a very sick hobby of making a bloody mess out of her "customers"/victims.
* SexyBacklessOutfit: Her outfit leaves her back bare. Not that there's anything sexy about her, though.
* SignatureLaugh: Her trademark "GE-GE-GE-GE-GE-GEH!" laugh.
* TooDumbToLive: Yeah, insulting the master of the WorldsStrongestMan to his face. See where that gets you.
* TortureTechnician: She doesn't just chain down men and pump them full of aphrodisiacs. She's got an entire torture dungeon under the Isthar familia home that Haruhime managed to accidentally stumble upon. Her victims are literally broken and bloody by the time she gets done with them.
* VillainsWantMercy: When she sees there's no way she can beat Ottar, she shamelessly begs for mercy and offers her body to him if he spares her. Ottar has none of it and only gets pissed at the hideous toad woman when she claims to be more beautiful than Freya.
* TheWorfEffect: With a dash of WorfHadTheFlu. Is subjected to this when she runs into the top warriors of the Freya Familia (just Ottar in the anime) during the Freya Familia attack on Ishtar's. She is clearly TheDreaded to Ishtar's other women. But when she runs into them, she's visibly terrified of him, but attacks him anyway. When that fails, she attempts to seduce them, which only angered them even further by claiming to be just as beautiful as Freya.

A member of Ishtar's Berberas, her elite adventurers, Aisha is equally passionate in battle and in bed, taking special interest in Bell.
----
* AllAmazonsWantHercules: Well, it's not like she can be PICKY as a prostitute, but this is definitely her preference.
* AntiVillain: She's one of main antagonists in the Ishtar Familia arc, but despite brutally beating Bell and mocking him for his cowardice, the only reason why she's opposing him at all is because she's compelled by Ishtar's charm ability and her brutal torture of her to obey. Once Haruhime is rescued from Ishtar's clutches, [[HeelFaceTurn Aisha comes around and becomes a regular ally of Bell]].
* BedlahBabe: She wears a purple bedlah with see-through pants.
* {{BFS}}: She often sports a huge sword that is about as tall as she is.
* CoolBigSis: She takes good care of the younger Berberas, especially Haruhime. Even after [[spoiler:the Isthar Familia's breakup]], she continues to call Haruhime her little sister and supports her.
* EntitledToHaveYou: At least in the anime, she never hesitates to state that she's targeting Bell's chastity and plans to take it, whether he consents or not.
* EthicalSlut: While she does enjoy the lots of sex that come with her peculiar line of work, Aisha is a decent person who cares for her fellow prostitutes as if they were her sisters. She was also the only one who actively opposed to Haruhime being made a sacrifice [[spoiler:and destroyed a Killing Stone once to save her]], but being tortured by Phryne and raped by Ishtar mentally broke her, rendering her incapable of defying them ever again. [[spoiler:After the Ishtar Familia's dissolution, she continues to be forward with her interest in Bell, but also supports Haruhime's attempts to capture his affections and never forces herself upon him.]]
* FemmeFatale: Her first encounter with Bell has him accidentally running into her and her pulling him close, stating that she found him very attractive.
* KickChick: One of her defining features is her long legs which she utilizes with a brutal efficiency and ferocity in combat. Bell learns this in a hard way as she could keep him out of reach with just her kicks.
* GracefulLoser: She smiles when Bell defeats her and rescues Haruhime.
* GuestStarPartyMember: She often joins Bell's party whenever Bell needs some extra fighting power. Not that she doesn't want to become a permanent member, but Hestia and Lily will not have it.
* HookerWithAHeartOfGold: Aside from being one of Ishtar Familia's prostitutes, Aisha is a fairly decent person who is especially nice to Haruhime.
* MagicalIncantation: Her magic, Hell Kaios, comes with one. It's a relatively short chant, resulting in limited firepower compared to a dedicated mage, but her mastery of Concurrent Chanting means she can activate it even when locked in battle with another adventurer of the same level.
-->"Come forth, champion of the savages! Raging warrior, brave fighter, greedy, cruel hero. If you desire the girdle of the empress, then prove your worth. Fill my body, pierce my body, kill my body and prove your worth. As I hunger, my name is Hippolyta!"
* MyMasterRightOrWrong: She does not agree with some of the orders Ishtar and Phryne give her, but is forced to play along with them. [[spoiler:In fact, she has no choice, as Ishtar charmed her to psychologically compel Aisha to do whatever she asks after Aisha destroyed Isthar's first Killing Stone to protect Haruhime.]]
* NeverMyFault: In episode 7 of the anime's season 2, when she attacks Bell in the dungeon, she tells him to blame everyone ''but herself''.
-->"If you want to hate someone, hate that fickle goddess who has her eyes on you. Blame yourself for catching Ishtar's eye. Blame Ishtar for wanting you!"
* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: [[spoiler:She once destroyed a Killing Stone in order to save Haruhime's life. When she got found out, Phryne whipped her until she was barely alive and ''then'' Ishtar charmed her to rape her nearly to the point of insanity. Aisha doesn't regret protecting Haruhime, but she was so broken that she doesn't dare try saving her a second time.]]
* PeekABangs: Her hair covers the right side of her face.
* PetTheDog: She's the only one who shows Haruhime any sort of compassion by giving her sweets from time to time.
* RapeAsBackstory: She once rebelled against Ishtar [[spoiler:by destroying the Killing Stone meant for the ritual to sacrifice Haruhime]]. As punishment, Phryne beat her half to death and then dragged her to Ishtar who proceeded to use her LivingAphrodisiac and CharmPerson powers to physically and mentally rape her until her mind broke completely. Aisha can't refuse Ishtar's orders anymore after that.
* ShesGotLegs: She has a very lithe figure and her flowing pants emphasize how long her legs are. [[spoiler:In fact, she can use them to keep Bell out of reach during their battle for Haruhime's life.]]
* ShipperOnDeck: While she's prone to making her own passes at Bell, Aisha supports Haruhime's attempts to win his affections post-volume 7.
* StatuesqueStunner: Officially listed at 5'9"/175cm tall and a total stunner.
* SuperStrength: As an Amazon, Aisha possesses far more strength than her lithe physique would suggest, and Bell's Liaris Freese is the only reason why he's able to clash with her at all.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Delivers one combined with [[spoiler:DareToBeBadass]] to Bell in volume 7, calling out his cowardice and lack of commitment when it comes to saving Haruhime. [[spoiler:She was actually hoping Bell would step up to the plate and do something about it, not that she has anything to lose, anyway.]]
* TokenGoodTeammate: She is possibly one of the nicest members of Ishtar Familia.
* TrappedInVillainy: She doesn't like many things her Familia does, especially the plan to sacrifice Haruhime to the Killing Stone. However, she knows from experience that if she tries to rebel, what awaits her is brutal torture and rape. Only one time was enough to break her will of opposing Ishtar.
* WorthyOpponent: She admires anyone who stands up to her, and taunts those that fight her, saying that if they cannot best her in combat then they are not a "real man." [[spoiler:At first, she is disappointed when Bell runs away, but as Bell fights back she comes to respect him.]]
* YouShallNotPass: [[spoiler:She steps in to delay Bete Loga while Bell and the Hestia Familia try to evacuate the Xenos back into the Dungeon. Even with Haruhime's Uchide no Kozuchi, she's ultimately no match and is left exhausted and beaten on the floor.]]

Kali is the goddess of the Kali familia. She owns an island full of Amazons.

* BareYourMidriff: She wears a skimpy top that exposes her midriff.

* {{Sadist}}: He lives for torturing, tormenting, and otherwise inflicting suffering on others, especially the Xenos.
* StupidEvil: He puts a higher priority on making monsters suffer than getting paid selling them off. In the anime, he's even seen stabbing through the bars of cages and killing monsters, reducing them to dust, when he's bored, agitated, or just looking to get his sadism itch scratched.

!Apollo Familia
[[folder:In General]]
* BreakingTheFellowship: After their defeat in the War Game, Hestia has their familia forcibly disbanded and Apollo run out of town.
* BullyingTheDragon: Their feud with the Hestia familia began with several of their members belittingly their accomplishments and insulting Hestia.
* MoralMyopia: They have the gall to be enraged at the Hestia famila's CombatPragmatism, after putting them through the list below:
** One of their members goes and publicly harasses Bell, Welf, and Lilly in a bar, even blocking their path when they try to leave.
** The rest of the members present openly attack after the aggressor gets a bit of beer splashed in his face, for insulting Hestia herself.
** When Bell, Welf, and Lilly fight them off, Hyacinth attacks and absolutely brutalizes Bell for the CrimeOfSelfDefense.
** Luan puts Bell through a FrameUp by PlayingTheVictimCard with a WoundedGazelleGambit so Apollo can challenge Hestia to a "war" that she's not likely to win.
** When Hestia wisely turns him down, leading Bell away, the next morning, Apollo familia blows up Hestia's church, with Bell and Hestia inside, and openly hurl violence on the both of them as they flee through town, not only involving many innocent bystanders in the collateral damage, but hiring Soma familia to help them put even more pressure on Bell and Hestia.
* ScrewTheRulesIHaveMoney: The adventurer's guild sighs in resignation at their attack upon the Hestia familia because no matter what sanction or fine they levy, Apollo familia will just pay it, and go right back to what they were doing.
* UnderestimatingBadassery: This famila believed they had a high advantage against Hestia's group with their 100 members to their five. They never expected them to use underhanded tactics and loopholes.

The God of the Apollo Familia.
----
* AmbiguouslyBi: He prefers boys over girls, but certainly he is interested in girls as well. That's why, on one hand, Daphne and Cassandra are his children, and on the other hand he tries to steal Bell away from Hestia.
* ArcVillain: The main villain for Volume 6 where he takes an interest in Bell and wages war with the Hestia Familia to try and attain him for himself.
* {{Determinator}}: Once he decides he wants you in his familia, ''he will not stop''. He hunted Cassandra and her friend through ''multiple continents'' until they had nowhere else to go.
* EvilIsPetty: Which gets lampshaded. Despite hiring Soma famila to help with his harassment campaign against Hestia and her familia, he denies both her request for a one-on-one duel, calling her "lazy" because Bell is her only "child" at the time, and only after goading from ''Loki and Freya'', of all people, agrees to let Hestia ask for help, but only allows one adventurer who has no official affiliation to any of the familia in Orario. All the other gods call him "petty" as a direct result.
* TheExile: After his familia is beaten, Hestia has him booted back to Heaven, or at least out of Orario, permanently.
* HasAType: He likes youthful boys and girls, to the point that some of his children went into his familia against their will, although he treats them well.
* HateSink: He's a petty and narcissistic jerk trying to take away the only member of Hestia Familia out of creepy stalkerish obsession.
* JerkassGod: Would you believe this guy makes ''Freya'' look like a NiceGirl? If constantly insulting Hestia and leering at Bell doesn't count, what will?
* JustJokingJustification: When Hestia comes after him, after his familia lost the war-game, he tries to get out of his end of the pact by claiming all his despicable acts up to that point were all just a harmless joke. In the anime, at least, Hestia decides to make his loss even more significant, not just by taking ''all'' his assets, but forcing him to disband his familia and exiling him from Oratario, ''permanently.''
* LaserGuidedKarma: His familia destroyed Hestia's church in an ambush. As payback for this, Hestia takes his manor.
* LecherousLicking: Does a hammy one after stating that he intends to take Bell from Hestia.
* {{Narcissist}}: While he may have fleeting "crushes," he's truly in love only with himself.
* ShrineToSelf: When Hestia confiscated the mansion formerly owned by Apollo familia, she found paintings and statues of Apollo ''everywhere'', and it took quite a bit of time and expense to get rid of all of them.
* SmugSmiler: He has a disgustingly smug smirk whenever he spits at Hestia. It drops immediately after his group is defeated.
* StalkerWithoutACrush: How he "recruits" his familia. Should an adventurer catch his eye, male or female, he will hunt them down, to the corners of the earth, until they have no choice but to join, because they have nowhere else to go.
* SuicidalOverconfidence: Mostly justified. The field was grossly skewed in his favor, even so, to tell Hestia "I will follow all your conditions" in the unlikely event she'd win was a horrible idea, and he pays for it, dearly.

The captain of the Apollo familia.
----
* AmbiguouslyGay: He seems willing to do anything for Apollo and was very annoyed with how Bell has his attention, to the point that he was willing to kill him over it. This alludes to his Myth/ClassicalMythology basis as Apollo's lover.
* TheBully: He loves to kick around people weaker than himself, even if they're on his side.
* CrazyJealousGuy: He is ''so'' desperately jealous for Apollo's affection that he will outright murder the "competition."
* HateSink: He's a petty and insanely jealous asshole who wants to torture Bell for catching Apollo's attention.
* {{Irony}}: His magic Aro Zephyros is basically a magical discus. His Myth/ClassicalMythology basis was accidentally killed by Apollo's discus.
* IrrationalHatred: He hates and wants to kill Bell, for the "crime" of being Apollo's LustObject, something Bell never wanted, asked for, or had any control over, in any way.
* LightIsNotGood: When he has to resort to magic, he summons a whirling disk made entirely of light that homes in on his target, and he's an especially despicable individual.
* LongHairedPrettyBoy: Wears long hair in a pony-tail, and is physically handsome, at least in the anime, but his personality is entirely despicable.
* MeanBoss: How does he reward Cassandra for telling him to run, when Bell is preparing to fire a ''massive'' Fire-bolt directly beneath his feet? Smacks her down, and kicks her.
* MeaningfulName: He is every bit as toxic, clingy, and smothering as the plant he's named after, a hyacinth, and every bit as superficially attractive.
* ReligiousAndMythologicalThemeNaming: Hyakinthos's first name is derived from the lover of Apollo in Greek mythology, Hyacinthus, who was turned into a hyacinth flower when he died.
* {{Sadist}}: He lives to cause people pain.
* ThisCannotBe: When Hestia familia winds up curbstomping his, almost immediately after the starter bell rang.
* UndyingLoyalty: He is one of the few former Apollo Familia members that still follow Apollo after the latter's banishment.
* WhoAreYou: In episode 4 of season 2, when seeing Bell has improved so much, that he can't simply bully the kid any more, he voices the trope name, word for word. Note that he's a level 3, while Bell is a level 2.

The Prum that provokes Bell in a bar, starting the fight between Hestia familia and Apollo familia.
----
* AgentProvocateur: Went out of his way to harass and provoke Bell, Welf, and Lilli, even physically blocking their way at one point. When Welf "accidentally" spilled beer on him in response, the rest of Apollo familia took that as the okay to start giving Bell and Hestia hell.
* FallenOnHardTimesJob: In the eighth novel, we see he working as [[spoiler:a bar waiter]].
* FrameUp: Shows up at the god's feast where all the familias attend, bandaged from head to toe, and pretending to be in agony, blaming Bell for critically wounding him. Apollo uses this as a pretext to openly attack Hestia familia, even going so far as to blow up the church Hestia lives in, while it's fully occupied.
* FramingTheGuiltyParty: Lili makes him realize how it feels to have your reputation ruined through a FrameUp by impersonating him, and making him appear like a traitor to his familia.
* {{Hobbits}}: His race are basically short, childlike humans. This is exactly why fellow Prum Lili chose him as the impersonatee due to the lack of ShapeshifterBaggage here.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Used theatrics to start a ''major'' conflict between two familia, for shits and giggles. Got impersonated by Lilli, framed as a traitor, and his likeness was used to bring about his own familia's ruin, with his former team-mates now out for his blood.

* ChefOfIron: A powerful ex-adventurer on top of being a skilled chef whose pub is among the most popular in all of Orario.

Particularly strange given that Gareth, the other major Dwarf character, plays this straight (he's 151cm tall, or just below 5 feet. 170cm, roughly average height for a Japanese man, is explicitly noted to be tall for a dwarf, so dwarves ''are'' shorter than average.

A waitress working at the pub.\\\

Syr has a crush on Bell, and provides him with supplies for his trips to the dungeon.
----
* BewareTheNiceOnes:
** Her whisper to Liliruca after the latter gets caught holding stolen property shows that she ''clearly'' has a dark-side underneath her harmless maid persona. In the novels, she even gives a potent glare to ''Mia'' when she wouldn't let her take a day off to hang out with Bell. Not that it worked, but having the guts to do that against someone who can intimidate high-level adventurers is impressive.
** The other girls at the pub have even said on more than one occasion that Syr "is a witch"; not maliciously, but in her many abilities that she uses to her advantage.
** When Hermes asks Mia about sending a message to Freya, Syr asks him why Bell was also in the Pleasure District. Though she does nothing more than ask him that, the aura she's giving off at that moment scares him.
* BornLucky: Invoked, she ''somehow'' seemed to gain this trait from Bell after touching his hand.
* ClingyJealousGirl:
** Though subtle, Syr is visibly shocked when Bell excitedly holds Lyu's hand after she shows him the knife they recovered from Liliruca but he thought he dropped in the dungeon. Lyu at least tries to tell Bell to say and do this to Syr.
** At one point she manipulates Bell into giving her a lap pillow, and later goes on to brag about it to Ais, who goes through a variety of emotions throughout the conversation. She likely did so, knowing about Bell's infatuation with the girl.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Underestimating Syr will be the last mistake you ever make. She's yet to get into a proper fight, but her badassness comes from her ability to persuade and dissuade others in situations that always gets her on top.
* CrushBlush: Shows several towards and regarding Bell.
* GodWasMyCopilot: [[spoiler:The seemingly normal waitress Syr is Freya's human disguise that she uses to get close to Bell and secretly assist in his rapid growth in power.]]
* GuileHero: She may not be one for actual action like Ryuu, but her ability to read people and her overall incredible skill at poker was vital for them rescuing Anna.
* HiddenDepths:
** She has the connections necessary to obtain a falsified invite to a prestigious and exclusive casino, the acting skills to put up a convincing ruse, and the ability to charm several male ''gods'' to help sell the ruse. Even Lyu was shocked by the first part alone.
** She's ''also'' very good at reading people, to the point that was able to unnerve some slavers in a poker game, and her own colleagues say it's like she knows every move they'll make in a poker game. While explaining her ability to read people to said slavers, she brings up a certain goddess'[[note]]Freya[[/note]] similar ability to read people.
* HorrifyingTheHorror: She manages to make [[PhysicalGod Hermes]] sweat bullets after poking holes in his story of Bell being in trouble, leading a flustered Hermes to tell her she shouldn't go around scaring gods. Bonus points she does all this with a sweet smile on her face.
* LethalChef: The DramaCD goes even says her food is more likely to knock out a Level 4 adventurer than be edible. So far, [[NiceGuy Bell]] is the only one who can eat her cooking without adverse side effects. One has to wonder how Bell managed to acquire his [[AcquiredPoisonImmunity Abnormal Resistance skill]]...
* MamaBear: Displays this during the Holiday campaign ''Winter Magic Miracle'' from ''VideoGame/MemoriaFreese'' when Noelle goes missing.
* {{Meido}}: Her job at the pub.
* ObfuscatingStupidity:
** Syr acts like a sweet yet somewhat ditzy girl, but once you believe it, you've fallen into her trap. She's surprisingly manipulative and devious for what her personality and sweet looks imply.
** In her "Grand Casino" mission, she's able to play, basically bankrupt, and completely destroy the richest men at her poker table... ''and they were working together''!
* OlderThanTheyLook: Shockingly enough, she appears during the events of ''Astraea Record'' seven years before the main story looking no older or younger than she does in the present despite being officially 18.
* RedOniBlueOni: She's the perky and sociable Red to Lyu's cool and reserved Blue.
* ReligiousAndMythologicalThemeNaming: Syr is one of Freya's aliases in Norse mythology. [[spoiler:This is a major hint as Syr is indeed Freya's disguise.]]
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Seal or Syr? The latter is an alias once used by Freya in Norse mythology.
* SuperPowerLottery: Invoked, does Syr truly have powers like her co-workers imply, or is she just "observant" as she claims? Either way, Syr has demonstrated a laundry list of "abilities" that even Lyu is amazed by.
** Syr appeared to have "borrowed" Bell's BornLucky abilities just by touching his hand. How that is even ''possible'' wasn't explained at the time.
** During a poker game, she can determine what a player's hand is by reading their eyes and easily manipulate the game into her favor.
** There are multiple moments where Syr whispers into people's ears, causing them to panic and go into a fear-induced stupor.
* ThroughHisStomach: She consistently provides Bell with lunches for his dungeon expeditions. The problem is her [[LethalChef cooking is abysmal]].
* TwoAliasesOneCharacter: [[spoiler:Syr is actually Freya when she takes the form of a girl in her familia who made a magic pact with her in the past. Freya uses her Syr identity mainly to get close to Bell without anyone suspecting anything.]]
* WalkingSpoiler: It's made ''painfully'' clear that there's more to Syr than meets the eye. Freya calls Syr her "Important Daughter", and she just so happens to find a priceless grimoire lying around that she hands to Bell not long after Freya becomes infatuated with him.
* WhatTheHellHero: A minor one and PlayedForLaughs when she brings Bell back to the diner to have him do the dishes she neglected to do. This does at least give him an opportunity to talk to Lyu a little bit about adventuring and how to become stronger.

An elf waitress working at the pub.\\\

Ryuu is an experienced former adventurer who is often seen alongside Syr.
----
* ActionGirl: Quite a capable fighter, particularly after Bell finds out she used to be an adventurer just like him. According to the author, if she had continued being an Adventurer, she would have reached Level 6 around the same time as Ais, one of the most talented adventurers in the series.
* AdaptationalBadass: In the light novel, she single-handedly takes on a third of Apollo Familia – that's a little over 30 members – holding them off while Bell hunts down Hyacinth. In the anime, she takes on, and defeats, ''half of them all by herself.''
* AlmightyJanitor: While she usually works as a waitress, she's actually an incredibly powerful adventurer.
* BadassBoast: Delivers one as it relates to the following trope.
-->'''Ryuu:''' I'm afraid I have more important concerns than my race's hatred [toward the Crozzos]. If helping a friend is shameful, then I'll be as shameful as I have to be!
* BatmanGrabsAGun: Despite the fact that the Crozzo family's weapons devastated the Elven homelands, she gladly takes up and uses Welf's swords to help Bell in book 6. An Elf in the Apollo Familia even tries to [[WhatTheHellHero call her out on it]].
* BerserkButton:
** Do not ever mention "The Lion of the Gale" around her. She goes into a murderous rage that ''terrifies'' level 4 adventurers.
** Everything involving [[spoiler:Evilus and the destruction of the Astraea Familia]] will quickly earn her attention and anger.
* BewareTheQuietOnes: She will beat up anyone who tries to harass her with a mug, [[spoiler:and she is utterly ruthless when it comes to Evilus]].
* CantCatchUp: Her goddess has left Orario and she's been completely blacklisted by the Guild, meaning that she has no way to update her status. Because of this, she can't grow any stronger than she already has. [[spoiler:Even while strengthened by Uchide no Kozuchi, she's defeated by Ais while buying time for the Hestia Familia to evacuate the Xenos back into the Dungeon. She even remarks on this, as Ais has left her in the dust in as little as five years when they were more or less equal during Orario's darkest days.]]
* ClingyJealousGirl:
** In spite of the fact she's a ShipperOnDeck for Syr and Bell, in the Familia Chronicle spin-off, she was uncomfortable when Syr showed off what she looked like in a dress to Bell.
** During episode 2 of season 3, she initially refuses to go into the dungeon with Bell's group. However, she quickly changes her mind when Aisha offers to go, and hints that she wanted Bell to pay for her services with his body. While Ryuu claims she was going to protect his chastity for Syr, she also threw her restaurant plate at Aisha rather hard.
* TheComicallySerious: She's almost always incredibly deadpan, in sharp contrast to the more emotive Anya and Syr.
* CovertPervert: In the OVA, ''Is It Wrong to Expect a Hot Spring in a Dungeon?'', when Bell gets [[MaleFrontalNudity exposed]], she covers her eyes while peeking through her fingers.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: She tells Bell more about her past in episode 12. The Astraea Familia which she belonged to was [[spoiler:ambushed by the Ruoua Familia, a familia working with Evilus, and [[TotalPartyKill everyone]] but [[SoleSurvivor herself was killed]]]]. She then went [[spoiler:on a RoaringRampageOfRevenge, wiping out the Ruoua Familia]]. She was blacklisted from the guild as a result, and [[DyingAlone would have died in some back alley]] were it not for [[spoiler:Syr bumping into her and bringing her to Mia]].
* DoesNotKnowHerOwnStrength: The other waitresses who are themselves mostly also retired high-leveled adventurers who don't like training with her because she has trouble holding back.
* HatesBeingTouched: Like many other Elves, she doesn't allow others to touch her and will knock away any hand going to touch her. [[spoiler:The only three persons she allows to touch her are [[YouAreACreditToYourRace Bell]], [[IOweYouMyLife Syr]] and [[TooGoodforThisSinfulEarth Alise]]]]. PlayedForLaughs with Anya who persistently tries to hug her and gets [[PunchedAcrosstheRoom knocked the across the room]] by Ryuu in ''Episode Ryuu''.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: In one chapter, she throws an apple at someone so hard that the apple breaks into pieces upon impact. She also tosses a coin at Lili's hand, which causes her to drop Bell's knife which she had stolen from him. She stops a blade aimed at Bell from troublemakers in the bar with the handle of her beer mug, and in episode 12, she nearly gives Bell a CloseCallHaircut when she tosses something at him after he accidentally runs into her bathing. The tree next to him has a huge hole in it from whatever she threw at him.
* LethalChef: She is completely senseless when comes to cooking. It is really hard to tell whose cooking is worse, hers or Syr's.
* MatchmakerCrush: Despite wanting Bell and Syr together she ends up falling in love with Bell herself.
* MagicKnight: She is both a very skilled swordsmen and powerful mage.
* {{Meido}}: Her job at the pub.
* NinjaMaid: A {{Meido}} combined with being a seasoned adventurer, hence the trope.
* NotSoAboveItAll: In spite of the fact that she's a badass and stoic elf, she's still capable of being embarrassed when her stomach growls in hunger at the wrong moment.
* OlderAndWiser: Her appearance in ''Astraea Record'' retroactively makes her this in the present. She was far more hot-headed and emotional in her days as part of the Astraea Familia, butting heads with fellow adventurer Kaguya and flying into rages unheard of for Lyu in the present.
* OneManArmy:
** [[spoiler:In volume 6, she takes on about 1/3 of Apollo Familia members (which is about 30 people) on her own, without using magic or a magic sword, and triumphs.]] This makes "The Mysterious Adventurer" an instant hit in Orario.
** Before this, she ended up at the Hostess of Fertility after [[spoiler:he familia was slaughtered by a Juggernaut as part of one of Evilus' traps. Lyuu is so heartbroken that she single-handedly slaughters the Rudra Familia and its associates in such a horrific display that she was blacklisted by the Guild.]]
* PointyEars: As an elf, she has long and pointy ears.
* RedOniBlueOni: Blue to Syr's Red.
* ReiAyanamiExpy: She's a stoic elf girl with bobbed green hair and has a DarkAndTroubledPast.
* RetiredBadass: She's a former [[spoiler:Level 4]] adventurer. She still takes up Jobs from time to time, but most of them are to rescue and help others rather than to actually go adventuring in the Dungeon.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: She sought revenge for her murdered comrades in the city, but because of the way she did it, she was blacklisted from the Guild. The extent of her rampage is elaborated in ''Episode Ryuu'':
-->''She spared no one in her quest for revenge... including merchants who sold to her enemies... and adventurers themselves. However, [the Guild were] forced to take action [...] because her rampage... even went as far as Guild employees who colluded with her targets.''
* ShipperOnDeck: For Bell and Syr.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Ryuu or Lyu, take your pick.
* SugarAndIcePersonality: She is very stoic most of the time, but gets warm up to the people she trust, turns out she is a [[HairOfGoldHeartOfGold very kind]] and [[CoolBigSis caring person]].
* SweetPollyOliver: While undercover at Orario's largest casino, she dresses up as a young male Elf noble with Syr as her escort and easily passes through without arousing suspicion. Bell and his companions only recognized her because the former is a regular at the Hostess of Fertility along with their prior adventure together in the Dungeon and the latter were once beaten by her.
* TragicKeepsake: The pair of short swords Kodachi Futaba she uses were gifts from a far-eastern member of Astraea Familia. Those were the only weapons she didn't leave at the [[FieldOfBlades Astraea Familia grave]].
* UndyingLoyalty: To Syr.
* WholesomeCrossdresser: In order to infiltrate the Casino in ''Episode Ryuu'', Ryuu goes undercover as "Mr. Maximilian", complete with [[BadassInANiceSuit tight-fitting suit.]]
* WoodenKatanasAreEvenBetter: Her main weapon Alvs Lumina is actually just a wooden sword. {{Justified|Trope}} as it is made from a branch of holy tree from her home forest. It has surprisingly high attack power and durability, [[MagicStaff boosts the user's magic power, and is highly compatible with Elven magic]]. Considering [[MagicKnight Ryuu's combat style]], this is the perfect weapon for her.
* YouRemindMeOfX: Syr often reminds her of [[DeadSidekick Alise]] and Astraea.
* YouWouldntLikeMeWhenImAngry: Says this combined with a DeathGlare to an adventurer when he angrily confronts Bell for protecting Liliruca after she stole something from him. Fortunately the guy walks away.

* BenevolentMonsters: The Xenos are intelligent and generally nice monsters who only attack in self-defense.
* MeaningfulName: "Xenos" (ξένος) is Greek for "foreign(er)" or "strange(r)".
* {{Reincarnation}}: There's the theory that the Xenos monsters gained intelligence through the cycle of death and rebirth in the Dungeon. That some Xenos can [[PastLifeMemories remember things they never experienced in their current lives]] supports this.
* SexyDimorphism: While there are a few like Arles that break this trope, the anime shows many of the male monsters being typical monster looks while the female monsters usually end up being a CuteMonsterGirl and having humonoid appearances compared to their male counterparts.

* AndIMustScream: In the anime, she speaks of her past before becoming self-aware. She mentions her life being one giant waking nightmare where her body indiscriminately attacked everyone she came across but wouldn't listen to her will, until she found herself in Bell's custody, and he tended to her wounds.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: Imprints on Bell because he treats her kindly and always looks after her.

* DoesNotLikeShoes: She's always barefoot because she hates wearing clothes in general.
* FantasticRacism: On the receiving end of this, as she's a monster from the dungeon, but [[AllLovingHero Bell]] sees her as a scared little girl. Even the Hestia Familia wanted to kill her on the spot and only reluctantly takes her in when Bell insists on protecting her.
* GoingCommando: While the Hestia Familia get her to at least wear a robe, she doesn't have any underwear on.
* HeroicResolve: After Ais' speech about how her monster features will scare people thus justifying her views on killing monsters regardless of their ability to talk and feel, Wiene immediately breaks off her claws and yanks off her wing even with the amount of pain doing so puts her through. This shatters Ais' resolve to kill Wiene and she leaves after giving Bell an elixer to heal her self-inflicted wounds.
* InnocentFanserviceGirl: She tries to get rid of the cape covering her body whenever possible. She immediately took off the clothes that Haruhime gave her when they first wash her. It took considerable convincing to have her wear a cape and keep it on. She also fails to understand why the women in the Hestia Familia don't want to take a bath with Bell and goes to see him after the bath without putting her cape on.
* NakedFirstImpression: Bell first finds her naked in the forest. He lends her his cape to cover herself.
* NakedOnArrival: She's introduced completely naked as she's running from some pursuers.
* NeverGivenAName: When the Hestia Familia asks for her name, she doesn't have one. They tell Bell to name her and they quickly decide on Wiene.
* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: She rescues a little girl from falling crates. The scared child runs off, and the nearby crowd begins pelting her with stones, thinking she attacked the little girl instead.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: She is a Vouivre, a kind of dragon. Although, there's very little dragon-like about her appearance as she's one of the most humanoid monsters seen in the Dungeon.

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ares_danmachi.png]]
->Voiced by: Creator/ChikahiroKobayashi (JP), Creator/ScottGibbs (EN)\\\
The god of war and patron god of the Rakia Kingdom.
----
* AdaptationalDumbass: In the original mythology as the God of War, Ares is a brilliant strategist and tactician. In this story, he's a total moron who thinks warfare is just [[AttackAttackAttack throwing a bunch of troops at his problems until they go away]], and can't comprehend why this doesn't work on Orario, where each adventurer is a OneManArmy by necessity, having to deal with the Dungeon. Possible justification for this. Ares' Illiadic presentation was well-known to have these particular qualities, with the strategic/tactical brilliance all going to Athena's instead.
* AdaptationalWimp: In his original mythology, he's one of the top gods in terms of power and martial skill. Here, he's a joke who gets his sword broken the first time he draws it, and were it not for a convenient landslide, would likely have been [[DisneyVillainDeath "sent to heaven"]] by Ais's blade.
* BullyingADragon: He keeps launching attacks on Orario, which has adventurers so powerful that, if any one of them knew where his base camp is, could simply waltz right in and completely annihilate his entire army with minimal effort. He can't comprehend that this is the reason his armies get constantly routed and sent home badly battered, if they even make it back at all.
* DidNotThinkThisThrough: His "brilliant" plan to take one of the gods of Orario hostage to force a surrender has many flaws, not the least of which is that this will provoke the familia of said god to retaliate with lethal force if said god is harmed in any way, presuming he even gets lucky and gets past said familia to grab the god in the first place. It's only sheer luck that he managed to grab Hestia when she was asked to grab some potatoes in the fields just outside Orario's gates.
* DumbMuscle: Does this ever apply. He's an absolute moron who can't understand why sending waves upon waves of poorly-trained knights and cavalry against Orario isn't getting him anywhere. Even among the gods he's known to have "100% muscles between his ears."
* FieryRedhead: He has orange hair and besides being stupid, passionate and impulsive are his other defining character traits.
* IRejectYourReality: He is so convinced that he's a brilliant military strategist and profound martial talent that he ignores all evidence to the contrary. In fact, the same village that nurses Hestia back to health easily intercepts and subdues him when comes to chase her down, ''despite being populated entirely by farmers and peasants who have no martial talent or training whatsoever,'' and he still flails around boasting of how great a warrior he is. The crown prince of Rakia can only sigh in resignation.
* IneffectualSympatheticVillain: His attempts at going into war with Orario and kidnapping Hestia are so pathetic that he comes off as a pitiful idiot instead of a threat.
* MilesGloriosus: Believes he's a brilliant military talent, and would be invincible on the battlefield, and loves to brag about it. In reality, he's an incompetent moron who can barely comprehend which is the business end of a sword.
* NoYou: Every time his retainers, including the crown prince of Rakia, calls his actions foolish, and him a total musclehead, he turns around and retorts "the man who calls others a musclehead is the actual musclehead".
* PointyHairedBoss: He is so stupid, the king of Rakia obeying his orders causes said king to be known as "The Moron King".
* TooDumbToLive: He continuously launches attacks on Orario, where a single adventurer can, and does, routinely rout his entire army, can't comprehend why his troops come back battered and bloody, assuming they come back at all, and then goes on to ''really'' provoke Orario as a whole, by kidnapping one of the local gods to hold as a "godstage" to try and force a surrender, instead angering '''all the local gods''', most of whom are way, way stronger and nastier than he is when provoked.
* WarGod: Like the mythological Ares, he's a war god, but a really lame one at that.

Mord is richly rewarded for his confidence in them when they win -- the hefty amount of money he bet and the low odds set for the Hestia Familia's victory means he gets a ''very'' large payout.
* TheResenter: Resented Bell's rapid advancement and even went so far as to attack him in the dungeon over it. He gets over it after Bell defeats the Black Goliath.
* RuggedScar: He has two long scars on his face, one on his left cheek, and the other across his forehead.
* TookALevelInKindness: He starts out as a jealous jerkass who eventually becomes a supporter of Bell.

[[quoteright:320:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/goibniu_danmachi.png]]
->Voiced by: Eizou Tsuda (JP), Creator/JayHickman (EN)\\\

The God of the Goibniu Familia.
----
* ElderlyImmortal: The first amongst the gods seen to look rather aged. He still has well-toned muscles from working in the forge though.
* UltimateBlacksmith: He's derived from the smithing and hospitality god who was the personal blacksmith of Tuatha De Denann, the premier god of Myth/CelticMythology. His familia is smaller and not as well-known as Hephaestus's, but is full of high-level blacksmiths who create extremely powerful equipment to such an extent that it is the preferred choice for high-leveled members of Loki's familia. The familia's creations include Tiona's Urga (which had the property of being able to cut through nearly anything) and Ais's Desperate (which would never chip, break, melt, or otherwise falter thanks to its Durandal property, but it could dull.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Surprisingly enough. All he wears is a pair of trousers and an apron wrapped around his waist.

->Voiced by: Creator/HarumiSakurai (JP), Creator/KellyManison (EN), Vanessa Andrade (Latin America)\\\

The Goddess of the Demeter Familia.
----
* GagBoobs: She has a massive pair of knockers that drives Loki insane.
* GreenThumb: Same as her basis in Greek Mythology. Her Familia specializes in the creation of high-quality produce rather than fighting monsters.
* HotGoddess: She's incredibly curvaceous and is considered beautiful like the other goddesses.
* OddFriendship: She's good friends with Freya, the leader of the most powerful familia in Orario, despite their familia's drastically different methods and goals. In Memoria Freese, the fact that Freya forgot about a spa appointment they made centuries ago was enough for Demeter to concoct a highly convoluted plan to "kidnap" Freya just to tell her that YouAreNotAlone.
* PaperThinDisguise: As the "Queen-Colonel", she disguises herself by wearing a pair of tacky sunglasses. Virtually ''everyone'' sees right through it, but she continues as if her identity was perfectly concealed.

[[folder:Zeus]]
!!Zeus
->Voiced by: Creator/AtsushiOno (JP), Chris Gibson (EN), Jonatán Florit Rozas (Latin America)\\\

The former god of the now defunct Zeus familia. After being forced out of Orario, he raised Bell as his grandson.
----
* DirtyOldMan: All of Bell's perverted tendencies, and even the reason he initially wanted a harem, is because of Zeus teaching him those things.
* FakingTheDead: Bell thinks he's dead, but Hermes reveals he faked his death for a currently unknown reason.
* LovableSexManiac: He's very interested in the opposite sex, to the point of teaching Bell that all men should peek at women bathing in a hilariously over-the-top manner.
-->'''Zeus:''' Bell, peeking is part of a man's romance.\\
'''Bell:''' Grandpa?\\
'''Zeus:''' [[TrrrillingRrrs RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROMANCE!]]
* SpitTake: It happened off-screen, but Zeus spat out his tea upon learning Bell levelled up so quickly.
* WalkingSpoiler: The mere fact that Bell's grandfather is ''Zeus'' was a huge WhamLine when it was revealed, but it also made a lot of sense in retrospect, because what other person, god or not, would actively encourage their grandson to be a HaremSeeker?

A Creature who works for Enyo.
----
* TheBeastmaster: She's capable of taming monsters, such as Violas, to do her bidding and was able to lend them to others like Olivas to use.

* CleavageWindow: Her red leotard has a cutout in the chest area that exposes her cleavage.
* EvilRedhead: She has red hair and is one of Enyo's cronies.
* LeotardOfPower: Her outfits are leotards.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Her name has been translated either as Levis or Revis.
* SuperHearing: As a Creature, Levis has incredible hearing, being able to hear fighting in another section of Knossos.
* UndyingLoyalty: She thinks of herself as nothing more than a tool of her master, following missions to her fullest extent.
