* FelonyMisdemeanor: Goh is constantly harassed ad nauseum simply for texting Chloe that he's going to be a "little bit late" to meet up with her, having horrible social skills, or that he's incapable of properly being a good friend despite claiming otherwise. Thankfully, this lessens as the story continues and the two finally have a talk about what's going on.

* MyGreatestSecondChance: However, Act 2 helps him start making amends by acknowledging how his actions hurt Chloe and he decides to become more empathetic, kinder, and willing to ''not'' jump the gun when it comes to people's actions. He also catches a new Pokémon for Chloe as a present, to which she finds adorable. More meaningfully, Goh and Chloe's friendship started to decay when he refused to listen to her, but he redeems himself by ''actively listening'' to Chloe telling how she would kill herself before vowing to come back to save her.

...I have seen people with depression, and frankly the only depression Goh has comes from Chloe making his life miserable.

%%*DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: Goh's reactions to Chloe prior to the revelation that Tokio ''wasn't'' a backstabbing liar like he thought he was sounds like he was suffering from some sort of childhood depression. He fears friendship with other kids out of fear of being rejected, was shown to be irritable when Chloe asked him what happened at Ilex Forest, he keeps searching for immediate short-term pleasures like chasing Mew, displays self-destructive behavior like jumping onto a Lugia/jumping to catch a Vivillon over a running river despite how dangerous it was, is incapable of paying attention to anything Chloe asks of him, refused to partake in his 8th birthday by saying that blowing candles was for "babies", and clinging onto Chloe to not leave him behind (before he moved onto Ash of course).

* {{Foreshadowing}}: His dismissal of Parker's warnings about Alex Shepherd in Ninjala Car when he refuses to listen to some helpful advice that would same Goh a lot of trouble. Cue Harvest Moon Car, when it's revealed that his and Chloe's problems are all his fault for not listening to Chloe when she tried to tell him not to jump into a river for a Vivillon.
