** I disagree. So far he managed to kill two, but he did so almost easily and managed to render the leader Chrollo Lucifer (who's very though) powerless and cut off from his team (for now). What is ''not'' going well is the retrieval of the remains of his (really dead, unlike Sasuke's) tribe.
*** Considering that it hasn't been quite a long time since he obtained his power (less than a year, I think, maybe even less), it's already quite a feat for him to defeat 2/12 of the Genei Ryodan and render the leader useless. The retrieval of the remains is understandably difficult, since there're only 32 pairs of them across the world.

And almost being impaled by a blade and having his arm broken only seemed to strengthen his resolve. His opponent is literally forced to forfeit in order to avoid killing him.

Gon Freecss is the main protagonist of Hunter X Hunter, a twelve year old boy left in the care of his aunt raised to believe his parents died in an accident when he was just a baby. He later learns that is not the case when he is rescued by a stranger named Kaito. Kaito turns out to be a hunter and student of Ging Freecss, a world renowed hunter and Gon's apparently dead father. This meeting steered something inside of him and ever since meeting Ging has been a lifetime goal. He seeks to meet his absent father, Ging, and follow in his footsteps, driving to take The Hunter's Exam and obtain a hunter's license, and so his quest begins…

The heir to the Zoldyick family, Killua decided he didn't want to be an assassin anymore, so he ran away. However he wasn't sure of what he really did want to do, so he took the Hunter Exam as a way to entertain himself. That's where he met Gon. At first he's distant and unattached, but it's hard to stick around Gon without warming up to him. He's generally fun-loving and a tease, although he doesn't seem to know when to stop, whether it's gambling or making fun of someone. He tends to be much more logical than Gon, making them a good pair. But you don't want to piss him off.

Hisoka is the main antagonist throughout the series. There is only one story arc where he has yet to show up, and that's because he's off preying on someone else. He's a psychotic, cold-blooded killer. Actually, he takes enjoyment from pain and suffering, even his own. He's introduced as a magician at first, but then it's revealed he uses Nen. The main reason he hasn't killed Gon and Killua yet is because he wants them to grow stronger before doing so. He also only takes interest in the living, because you can't kill people twice. (But I'm sure if you could, he would gladly do so multiple times, just to watch their agony.)
