* RabidCop: To an almost comical degree. Blake's disregard for standard police procedure hinders the case. He'll go so far as to kill an innocent man because he thinks he's the killer.

* TraumaCongaLine: His older brother gets killed in an accident and his father is put into a coma for six months. After Ethan wakes up, Shaun’s relationship with him deteriorates (his parents getting a divorce probably didn’t help) and just when things are starting to look up, he gets kidnapped by a serial killer.

However his actions are not viewed in a heroic light but instead viewed as barbaric, reckless, violent, and unnecessary. His actions have endangered the lives of numerous innocence who he's sworn to protect, and by ruthlessly pursuing Ethan Mars (an innocent man) he's allowing the real killer [[spoiler: Scott Shelby]], escape justice. In short Blake's actions paint him no better than the criminals he claims to despise.
