* MaskOfSanity: While he puts on a front that makes it look like he ''has'' recovered somewhat after what happened, it's all for show. He's still ''severely'' unstable and at constant risk of another rampage, which nearly happened when Asia was kidnapped. It's because of this that Ajuka tells Sirzech's his plan to have Issei stop Rias' engagement to Riser won't work. The mere sight of Riser would likely set Issei off to the point that, even with the Phoenix's regeneration, Riser ''will'' die to Issei, and the Underworld will be ravaged in the process, a massacre occurring that not even the Maou, Azazel, and Michael would be able to stop.

* RageBreakingPoint: During their Rating Game, after the Gremory Peerage managed to take out his entire Peerage, ''including'' Yubelluna and Ravel, Riser becomes uncharacteristically calm at first, before absolutely ''losing it''. Namely because, he recognized their fighting style as resembling Issei's. But since publicly Issei is ''dead'', Riser mistakenly believes Sirzech's was so desperate to avert Rias' engagement, that he would willingly dig up Issei's grave and approached Jasmine and Vali to teach the Gremory Peerage. The entire area around him begins to grow hotter, and he openly declares to Rias she is unfortunately going to suffer what he thinks Sirzech's actions are.

* BunnyEarsLawyer: They're all rather eccentric and possess their fair share of quirks, such as Sirzech's being a siscon, Serafall liking to pretend to be a magicial girl, etc. They are ''still'' some of the most powerful beings in the Underworld, and demonstrated their strength when they, along with Azazel and Michael, managed to subdue a rampaging Issei, [[ScarsAreForever though not unscathed]].

* BewareTheNiceOnes: Sirzech's may be trying to act as TheChessmaster and getting Issei involved in the process, but he still feels bad for his once friend and wants him to get better, treating him with the proverbial kid gloves. [[spoiler:That comes to an end when Issei's actions nearly reignite the Great War after he sees Carnelian again, and nearly enters the Juggernaut Drive. * OutGambitted: She had assumed that even if she approached Issei at the engagement between Rias and Riser, Issei's ZeroPercentApprovalRating amidst the Devil's would make certain that any second hand accounts would paint her as the innocent party and Issei as the aggressor, backed by the political power of the Bael Family making her untouchable. Issei knew she'd tried that though, so he had Grayfia and Azazel unknowingly set up a special field that blocked all outgoing signals from the party aside from one: one that would be livestreaming his confrontation with her to ''all'' of the Supernatural, letting him reveal everything she and the Bael's had tried to silence with a gag order [[LoopholeAbuse since it didn't apply to a dead man]], all while she is kept helpless by the same order. As a result, Hell, Heaven, and the Fallen are sent into an uproar upon learning Issei could have allowed all three to have an increased birth rate had it not been for the Bael, that Issei had been the one responsible for many of their innovations that improved QOL, and that he was not only still alive at all, but had been {{railroad|ing}}ed by the Bael's all those years ago, all of which is more than enough to possibly reignite the Great War with how much everyone now ''hates'' the Bael. Add on Sirzech's having to blast off Carnelian's arm just to try appeasing Issei before he can enter the Juggernaut Drive, and Carnelian's plans have gone up in smoke.

* SecretlyDying: [[spoiler:While his physiology may be closer to a dragons now, he ''is'' still human, and has the lifespan of one. As the Juggernaut Drive however is a DangerousForbiddenTechnique that drains the lifeforce of whoever uses it, and Issei first used it during his rampage at ''12'' for roughly three hours, his lifespan has been irrevocably shortened. As Carnelian herself points out, even if Issei is a prodigy at using the Boosted Gear, he would have long been ''dead'' already were it not for his knowledge of senjutsu, medical magic, and Presence use, all of which allowing him to redistribute his remaining lifespan, but she doubts he has more than five-to-ten years left alive at this point, something he doesn't contest. It's implied ''that's'' why she offered him a mutated Queen piece when they reunited, since turning him into a devil would extend his lifespan, even if him accepting her offer after what she did was nigh-impossible.]]

Added DiffLines:

* FatalFlaw: '''WRATH.''' Issei's biggest issues relate to his anger, ability to hold a grudge, and the immense amount of hatred he carries. While he hides it behind his MaskOfSanity, the moment something even tangentially related to his trauma comes up, the mask slips and comes close to snapping again, and becomes a danger to himself and everyone around him. Even in situations where his feelings would be justified, they're so all-consuming that they end up blinding him to things like nuance or circumstances in favor of his own rage and pain. As a result, the people around him regularly have to walk on eggshells to make sure he isn't set off, but all that does is earn his condemnation since he sees it as them trying to placate him for their own screwups.

Added DiffLines:

* PsychopathicManchild: {{Play|ingWithATrope}}ed with since he ''is'' a teenager still. Issei may have developed ''intellectually'' much faster than someone his age, but he lacks the ''emotional'' maturity to match it, not helped by his DarkAndTroubledPast and subsequent isolation leaving him emotionally and socially stunted for years. As a result, when you put aside his surliness and acerbic nature, he's ''very'' emotionally immature compared to his would-be peers, to the point that even those younger than him like Koneko, Asia, and Gasper, seem more mature than him at times. This just makes it all the harder for others though since he's someone with the emotional maturity of a child and the power of several nuclear warheads, mixed with a HairTriggerTemper, causing people to unintentionally treat him like an explosion waiting to happen, which causes them to try and keep him in the dark about things that they fear will set him off, only to earn his enmity for keeping it from him in the first place.

While he was still around and an active part of Issei and Asami's lives in the past segments, he's completely vanished in the present segments. * OpenSecret: His fate is one for all the upper echelons of TheAlliance sans Issei. Whereas Issei had been kept in the dark by everyone, even his closest compatriots that he still trusted like Jasmine and Vali, they had been aware of his true fate for roughly two to three years, but wisely kept quiet out of fear of Issei's reaction. [[spoiler:Namely that he's been in Carnelian's service as a Pawn in her peerage.]]
* SameCharacterButDifferent: [[spoiler:When he shows himself for the first time in years, he's practically a different person. * ScarsAreForever: Like Azazel and Michael, they retain injuries from their subduement of Issei, though to different extents. Sirzech's and Falbium's scars have yet to be elaborated on, but Serafall's body is shown to twitch from phantom pain, and Ajuka [[EyeScream lost his right eye]].

* AnArmAndALeg: After Issei nearly enters the Juggernaut Drive upon learning she has Ichirou as her Pawn, Sirzechs reasserts his authority by blasting her right arm off, reitterating that she is not only unwelcome at the party, but that her actions and those of the Bael Family have nearly reignited the Great War. He then proceeds to sear her stump closed with the Power of Destruction, so that she can ''never'' properly heal it or regrow her arm.

* FreudianExcuseIsNoExcuse: Chapter 26 implies that she was ''not'' an entirely willing participant in Issei's DarkAndTroubledPast, but had on some level been forced into complying by the Bael family. Even so, it's made clear the part she ''did'' play in it is something she needs to face judgement for, and that even if it ''explains'' some of what she did, the bridges she burned with Issei and her former friends are something she has to live with.
-->'''[=ThirdFang=]:''' As for Carnelian, I hope none of you are disappointed with what happened to her. There's clearly more going on with her backstory, but that doesn't excuse what she did, and she deserved what she got, and more.

* GreaterScopeVillain: She is ultimately the one responsible for Issei's DarkAndTroubledPast, having tried to rape him and then reincarnate him into her peerage, before turning the accusations on him when that failed, and TheAlliance is working to get Issei readjusted to society for when she inevitably returns.
* LivingMemory: She left an imprint of herself inside Issei, to the point it gives him night terrors if he sleeps for more than five hours. Rias and Asia end up meeting and repelling it after entering his mindscape after he had an episode.

* MoodSwinger: When she finally appears, she has some noticeable eccentricities, namely very abrupt mood swings, one second having her LaughingMad gushing about Issei, the next having her be a SmugSnake as she talks condescendingly. Both Sairaorg and Sirzechs attribute this to her Sacred Gear, the former outright considering it a "twisted" entity, and the latter noting she's dependent on it.

Added DiffLines:

* AllLovingHero: Sairaorg is one of the kindest people you could ever meet, willingly taking in others that Devil society tossed aside as "trash" as members of his Peerage while treating them like family, and acting as a CoolBigBro to plenty of people he meets. Even with people who changed for the worse like Issei, Jasmine, or Riser, he is fully aware of why they changed and how they're still good deep down, and is just waiting for them to realize it themselves.

To compensate, he's pushed his body to the peak of physical fitness, and become one of the strongest young Devils by sheer training alone.
* CantKillYouStillNeedYou: Sairaorg believes the only reason he hasn't been executed yet now that he's no longer heir of the Bael Clan is because he has too much use to the Clan as a political tool to be killed off. It's because of this he's been largely confined to the Underworld.
* CoolBigBro: Befitting his AllLovingHero nature, the moment Sairaorg met Issei at a young age, he became almost like an older brother to him, easily taking his eccentric behavior and crass nature in stride. Even if the present, he still acts as one for Riser and Ravel, and ''attempted'' to be one to Gasper when they first meet, with mixed results.
* TheGhost: He was mentioned as far back as Issei's first meeting with the ORC, but didn't appear in person until the day of Rias and Riser's wedding.
* InsistentTerminology: He does ''not'' want anyone calling Carnelian his "sister", saying the only thing he shares with her is a bit of blood. [[spoiler:Considering he's fully aware of what she's done as "White" and was victim of her himself, his disdain for her is understandable.]]
* WeUsedToBeFriends: {{Subverted|Trope}}. Unlike Issei, Vali, Jasmine, and TheAlliance, Sairaorg is the only one of Issei's original inner circle to retain some level of connection with Riser and the Phenex Clan, largely thanks to being fully aware of the truth behind his "betrayal" of Issei.

* NeverMyFault: She blames others for having to become her becoming a sex-worker in the United States, but she ''chose'' to return to America to seek employment when Issei would have been more than willing to continue supporting her, so it's really either not considering or underestimating just how tarnished her reputation had become. Even after failing to obtain a respectable form of employment, returning to Japan and letting Issei pamper her like an empress (which he had the means and willingess to do) was always an option for her, but, once again, she ''chose'' not to take that route in favor of becoming a sex-worker. So, ultimately, her bad lot in life [[spoiler:after White screwed her over]] was entirely her own fault.
