* GameplayAndStoryIntegration: Amber is mildly clumsy and quite guileless, captured in his low Dexterity, abysmal Resistance, and virtual inability to make good use of Magic. One Support with Diamant has him find a supposed truth serum, accidentally consume it, and blurt out everything on his mind in a hypnotic-like trance. Despite this, he's a strongly-determined individual, and this is captured in his physically-oriented stats.

** Stat-wise, Alcryst is built like the [[RecurringElement Gordin archetype]], a starting-game Archer who is mainly used for chip damage [[OvershadowedByAwesome and often overshadowed by later Bow-users]]. He even has the same lack of confidence and self-worth Gordins like [[VideoGame/FireEmblemGenealogyOfTheHolyWar Midir]] and [[VideoGame/FireEmblemTheBindingBlade Wolt]] possess. Despite that, he actually joins at the time where most games would hand out their first Gordin ''replacement''; the game's ''actual'' Gordin is [[Characters/FireEmblemEngageKingdomOfFirene Etie]], and her focus on Strength incidentally resembles that of most Archers in Alcryst's Gordin-replacing role.

* CombatMedic: Her personal skill makes her a variant of one, since she can use healing items on herself to restore allies around her as well.
* CripplingOverspecialization: Citrinne has ''excellent'' Mag and Res... and not much else. It is possible to keep her relevant until the endgame through abilities such as ''Dire Thunder'', although she'll be a GlassCannon at best.

** [[GameplayAndStoryIntegration Citrinne agonizes over this]], according to her silver Ally Notebook page, which implies she misses what she's good at for what she's not naturally gifted in.

* NonIdleRich: Despite being rich to the point that she owns more land in Brodia than even Diamant, who's part of Brodia's noble direct family, and that she considers private islands reasonable gifts to give, she still works as retainer, and actively works for Brodia's wellbeing. [Most notably shown in the Yunaka support; where she digs up Yunaka's past on her own, which no other character manages]

* LateCharacterSyndrome: Saphir's excellent personal skill and starting class are often overshadowed by just how late she joins your party. She is the one of the last characters you can recruit, and your last ''optional'' recruit at that. It's certainly possible that all of your other axe-users or archers might be worse (or dead) by the time you get her, but that's not an ideal scenario. At the very least, she's hard to miss on her recruitment map, and she can at least provide a Brave Axe, a Tomahawk, and an Elixir for someone else to use if you do recruit her.

* BigWhy: When taking heavy damage, getting inflicted with the broken status, or getting hit by an Engage attack, he may sometimes yell out "Whyyyy?!"

* GlassCannon: Amber boasts the highest strength growth of the playable cast, which is complimented by a high base Strength of 15 at the time he joins and starting out with a Killer Lance and Iron Greatlance. However, his speed, defence and especially his resistance growths are much less impressive, putting him at the risk of either getting doubled by other enemies for high damage and being incapable of dodging efficiently, especially at the hands of spellcasters. His Personal Skill, which increases his Hit by 20 at the expense of losing 10 Avoid, emphasizes this by ensuring his attacks land for high damage at the expense of putting him at further risk of getting hit.

* ContraltoOfStrength: Her voice becomes noticeably deeper when she gets serious or scores a critical hit in battle, quite fitting for someone who is [[spoiler:trained in the way of deadly assassins]],contrasting the lighter voice she normally has. It's shown in some wake-up events and her S-support with Alear that this is actually her most ''natural'' tone of voice, the bubbly tone being a affectation she has to make an effort to use.

* CriticalHitClass: Much of Alcryst's damage potential relies on proccing Luna, which ignores half of the target's Defense (or Resistance if he's using the [[EnergyBow Radiant Bow]]) before applying other damage modifiers or standard critical hits. Luna's chance to fire is directly based on Alcryst's Dexterity (plus 5% if he's using Chrom's S-rank Bond Ring), compared to the critical hit rate of most weapons being based on ''half'' the user's Dexterity and reduced by the target's Luck, so you're likely to see Luna trigger more often than you'll see him get a normal crit.

Diamant seems to be aware of this, noting how Alcryst's lack of confidence is a huge weakness, and works to address this in their support conversations.
