* ABirthdayNotABreak: Olan Rogers has confirmed that each character has the same birthday as their respective VAs. Taking into account that he voices both Gary and Mooncake, and that his father John gave his life to seal an interdimensional breach - an action which left behind a bit of residue that crystalized and became Mooncake - this implies that poor young Gary had to watch his dad die on his birthday.

* [[invoked]]AmbiguousDisorder: Well, it's obvious that he's [[GoMadFromTheIsolation went mad alone]], but his impulsiveness and the fact that he keeps re-experiencing his father's death hint at deeper mental and emotional issues.
* AmbiguouslyBi: Gary is unambiguously attracted to Quinn yet he has called Rug Yorkvain handsome more than once. His entire dynamic with Avocato is also interesting, especially since, alongside his intense romantic love for Quinn, Gary seems to hold Avocato's friendship as equally important and holds the same self-sacrificial attitude towards him that he does Quinn. Also, most of that friendship is expressed with the two [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything flexing their muscles, caressing the walls, staring intensely into each other's eyes, and, somehow reading each other's minds with nothing but the power of their friendship]]. On top of all of that, Gary insists that both him and Avocato are Little Cato's fathers and the two seem to co-parent him.

* AmbiguousDisorder. Fox exhibits many traits associated with those in the bipolar and autism spectrums. He frequently acts like a child, cries at the drop of a hat, exhibits frequent and unexpected mood swings, has a huge temper, and admitted that he is traumatized by something he is running from.

* MultiEthnicName: "Newton" is an English name, while the "Van" particle is a staple of Dutch and Belgian names. Since Kevin is familiar with both Belgium ''and'' England, it's possible that he has both Belgian and British ancestry.

* DarkIsNotEvil: While she's got some issues, she's seemingly much more heroic than the Lord Commander, who she has similar powers to, but a dark purple-colored as a contrast to his LightIsNotGood. [[spoiler:Then she fully upgrades to DarkIsEvil in the Season 3 finale after becoming Invictus' new {{Dragon}} and releasing her master from Final Space while torturing and draining Mooncake of power purely for her selfish personal revenge.]]

* HateSink: [[spoiler:"The Set Up" makes him far worse than he's ever been before. Not only does he betray the team and steal the dimensional keys for Sheryl, but he also tases and critically injures Fox[[note]]although the critical thing was not his intention and was actually [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone horrified]] when he learns how bad it was[[/note]], his own adopted son, even after Fox spared him. It's ''so'' satisfying when Gary and the others leave him behind.]]

* UncertainDoom: The last we see of her is [[spoiler: Invictus engulfing her and Mooncake with its energy after the former willingly frees it, leaving her status up for debate]].

* PetTheDog: Possibly. Before [[spoiler: her HeelFaceTurn later on,]] she tells Gary it was nice to see him again when he meets her in prison. Of course, she may have been lying at the time.

* MsFanservice: Sheryl is aware of her good looks, and happily recounts a tale of her fighting naked against enemies, which makes Clarence blush. Her outfit showcases a lot of her buxom and it's even subject to the occasional jiggle.

* BoobsOfSteel: One of the toughest women in the series and has a huge rack.

* GrandmaWhatMassiveHotnessYouHave: Since Gary is 32 years old, Sheryl can't possibly be younger than 50, and it's likely that she's in her late 50s/early 60s. Nevertheless, she remains a very attractive woman.
** [[spoiler: Gary actually refers to her as Little Cato's grandmom in "The Leaving", and LC starts calling her "Grandma Goodspeed", explaining that, because Gary adopted him, it technically makes her his grandmother.]]

* OlderThanSheLooks: She looks to be in her early to mid 20's but WordOfGod reveals that she is 32 years old.

* GrandmaWhatMassiveHotnessYouHave: Since Gary is 32 years old, Sheryl can't possibly be younger than 50, and it's likely that she's in her late 50's/early 60's. Nevertheless, she remains a very attractive woman.

* PeekABangs: {{Subverted|Trope}}, as her visible eye is [[{{Cyclops}} her only eye]]--the side under her hair is just a blank stretch of skin. [[spoiler:She loses this when Invictus gives her a second eye and a new haircut after empowering and aging her up.]]
