* AmbiguouslyBi: [[spoiler: Seems to be in a healthy, if bleak, relationship with Tesleen at the start of Shadowbringers, though still seems to harbor a crush on the WoL regardless of their gender.]]

* BusCrash: [[spoiler: Was out of the picture since patch 2.55 and was mentioned briefly in 3.1. 3.2 brings her back as the voice and avatar of Hydaelyn, but her energy is spent up and she dissolves into the aethereal sea.]]
** [[spoiler:3.4 negates this, restoring her existence somewhat, but she essentially leaves the world for perhaps forever.]]

* CommutingOnABus: [[spoiler: After being whisked away by Hydaelyn at the end of ''A Realm Reborn'', she appears very rarely in ''Heavensward'', is completely absent in ''Stormblood'', and makes only few appearances in ''Shadowbringers'' before being written out for good.]]

* FusionDance: [[spoiler: Performs one of the Power Booster variety with Hydaelyn herself after travelling the Lifestream. She also does this with Ryne to grant her the power to detect Lightwarderns at the cost of her own soul.]]

* TookALevelInJerkAss: [[spoiler:In ''Shadowbringers'', much like Thancred, its made apparant that the three years she's spent on the First shard since being "Called" has changed her. She's started adopting mannerisms of her mentor, Master Matoya, having become brusque in manner. She outright mocks Thancred for not having come to terms with the reality of Minfilia of the Source being effectively gone and Minfilia the First not being her. She's distrustful of Urianger for seemingly going along with the Crystal Exarch's plans and habit of ommiting the full truth. And due to the Warrior of Light/Darkness having absorbed two Lightwardens, and thus appearing to be a Lightwarden themselves to her Aether Sight by the time she meets with them again, she's of the belief that its not even the same hero she once knew.]]

She's started adopting mannerisms of her mentor, Master Matoya, having become more brusque in manner. She outright mocks openly confronts Thancred for not having come to terms with the reality of Minfilia of the Source being effectively gone and Minfilia the First not being her. She's distrustful of also become less trusting, growing especially frustrated and even having a falling-out with Urianger for seemingly going along with and the Crystal Exarch's plans and Exarch thanks to their mutual habit of ommiting omitting the full truth. And due to the Warrior of Light/Darkness having absorbed two Lightwardens, and thus appearing to be a Lightwarden themselves to her Aether Sight by the time she meets truth even when working with them again, she's of the belief that its not even the same hero she once knew.their supposed allies.]]

Added DiffLines:

* TheAtoner: [[spoiler:''Stormblood'' and ''Shadowbringers'' show that he deeply regrets having had to mislead his fellow Scions in order to save the First during ''Heavensward'', and desperately seeks to make up for it.]]

Added DiffLines:

* ShipTease: He seems to be gaining a bit of a crush on Fordola post Stormblood, at least he's flustered and starts stumbling over his words when he realizes what his talk of giving her a shoulder to lean on when she needs it sounds like.

* ShipTease: She gets a lot with her right hand man in the First, a Ronso named Runar.

Added DiffLines:

* ShipTease: Over the course of the game, it's shown that Alphinaud has grown to care for and worry about the Warrior of Light, with at one point even Estinien teasing him for worrying. A lot of his later character development can also be hinged on doing something that can support the Warrior of Light within is own way. And while in ''Shadowbringers'' when telling Dula-Chai of how important his "assistant" is to his work may be slightly exagerated, it's clear there is a hint of truth in his words about how we are his inpsiration and the one who most understands his work.

Added DiffLines:

* LadyOfBlackMagic: She remains as graceful as ever after taking up black magic in ''Shadowbringers'', and proves to be just as good at blowing stuff up as she was at keeping you alive.

Added DiffLines:

* TheResenter: [[spoiler: Towards Oracle Minfilia/Ryne due to the girl having the Minfilia title and appearance, thus being a constant reminder to Thancred that he can never have his Minfilia back despite all the sacrifices he made in the past to protect her. Every screw up the girl makes makes Thancred resent her more, causing her to think that he hates her. Once Thancred admits his flaws and true feelings towards her, he lets his resentment go.]]

** By ''Shadowbringers'' he's eased into a much more controlled, though still very passionate version of this. Three years of dealing with the oppression of the citizens of Kholusia at Eulmore's hand has lead Alphinaud to looking for any chance to save them. He sacrifices a chance to get into Eulmore so he can let an impoverished youth in first, and then once he gets into Eulmore proper, makes a scene in front of its corrupt ruler Vauthry once that same youth is threatened with being converted into a Sin Eater. Alphinaud's selflessness is enough to begin the stirrings of change within the city, but not before putting a huge target on his own head, along with the player character and the rest of the Scions.

* {{Foil}}: Lampshaded with Vauthry in ''Shadowbringers''. Alphinaud admits the reason he loses his cool during their first encounter is because he sees so much of his younger self in Vauthry; the haughty, arrogant, self-righteous saviour who thinks what they're doing is unquestionably right. The only key difference is [[spoiler: Alphinaud was always genuine in his desire to do good and is intellectually brilliant, meaning his moral compass would always readjust when off-kilter. Vauthry is a PsychopathicManchild who was raised in the lap of luxury with a god complex specifically to enslave the inhabitants of the First, so his morality would always be skewed beyond repair.]]

* DivergentCharacterEvolution: At first Alisae comes off as a much more hot-headed version of Alphinaud, but shares many traits with him, right down from their clothes to their class. Come her proper joining of the Scions in ''Heavensward'', and she gets a brand new outfit, and begins fighting with a sword created from her magics, even going so far as to say she's more of a fighter and less of a bookworm than Alphinaud. By ''Stormblood'', she's fully established herself as a Red Mage who prefers getting her hands dirty, and can't stand politicking and diplomacy in the same way her brother can.

* LazyBackup: Even though she is shown accompanying you though the Binding Coils in cutscenes, she does not aid you in battle during the gameplay portions. [[spoiler: Averted in 3.4 where she directly assists in the fight against the Warriors of Darkness]], and trailers have shown her fighting solo in Stormblood.

[[spoiler: Averted in from 3.4 onwards where she first directly assists in the fight against the Warriors of Darkness]], Darkness, and trailers have shown her fighting solo then becomes a full-fledged Red Mage in Stormblood.''Stormblood''.

Added DiffLines:

** In ''Shadowbringers'', she's reintroduced kicking the ass of some Sin Eaters, and barely seems phased - let alone excited - when her beloved Warrior of Light shows up. But she quickly admits she feels enormous guilt over abandoning them in the Ghimlyt Dark, and loses her composure completely after Holminster Switch when [[spoiler: she encounters the Sin Eater-converted Tesleen]]. It's so bad, she goes off to mourn privately and demands the Warrior of Light not to follow.

* TheAgeless: Much like other Archons, it seems she too has slowed her aging to a near stop, as one member of the Ala Mhigan Resistance mentions upon seeing her in 3.4 that she seems to have hardly aged a day in over 20 years. [[spoiler: Averted in reality. While the real Yda might have possibly had the benefit of such magic while she was alive, the "Yda" known in story is her much younger sister, Lyse, who wasn't even 5 years old at the time when King Theoderic of Ala Mhigo was deposed, and the Garleans then launched their invasion, placing her in her mid to late 20s at the time of the events of ''Heavensward'' into ''Stormblood''.]]

* TheAgeless: She has halted her aging with magic since twenty three years old, though her true age would be somewhere upward of thirty. Unlike the other Scions who use simillar spells to keep themselves youthful, her real age is never given and a promotional dossier for VideoGame/DissidiaFinalFantasy pointed out that her younger sister is twenty six.

Added DiffLines:

* FunnyBackgroundEvent: [[spoiler:In the ending sequence of ''Shadowbringers'' when the party washes up on shore, Urianger is missing but when the scene zooms out you can see him laying face down in the water just few yalms away.]]

Added DiffLines:

* GameplayAndStoryIntegration: When used as a Trust, he is unable to use the Gunbreaker cartridge skills without Minfilia in the party providing him ammunition, as he is unable to produce it himself.

Added DiffLines:

* HiddenDepths: Just like Alphinaud, [[spoiler:Urianger does not know how to swim at all. Alphinaud is delighted to learn he isn't the only one.]]
