But Shikako bears a major grudge against Kofuku for the event and the two have clashed several times since.

* PassingTheTorch: She passes the Deer contract on to Shikako. It's implied that she had been waiting for quite a while for an appropriate successor to show up--the Deer contract belongs to the clan and has to stay within it, but most Nara aren't interested in summons that are best used in frontline combat.
