* {{Expy}}: Of the Demon King Piccolo. They're both evil Namekians who used the Dragon Balls to regain their youth. He was also sent away from Namek to save his life when the weather changed, just like the Nameless Namek who became Piccolo.

* InferioritySuperiorityComplex: His smugness detailed below seems to be driven by an inferiority complex regarding his low class heritage, as seen with his quote to SSJ Goku detailed above. Notably, the games portray him as having very specific quotes for when he fights the higher-class elites Nappa and Vegeta -- he taunts Nappa and says he "expected more from an elite warrior" after beating him, while he mocks Vegeta as "The Princ''ess'' of all Saiyans".

* DefeatMeansFriendship: Or rather servitude, which is how he acquired [[http://dragonball.wikia.com/wiki/Daiz Daiz]].

* CyberCyclops: He has one camera eye with a red lens on his life support. He also has surveillance cameras with the same eye, allowing him to oversee the whole base.

* AdaptationExpansion: They have an expanded role in the Platform/{{Famicom}} game ''Dragon Ball Z III: Ressen Jinzōningen'', in which they [[AlienAbduction kidnap Bulma]] to force her to build them a Dragon Radar and [[HostageSituation take hostages]] to force the human population into obeying them.

* {{Expy}}: Averted. While his final clash with Goku mirrors Goku's final clash with Vegeta, otherwise Dr. Wheelo is the most original villain of the bunch, predating Dr. Gero's concept of being a MadScientist with a brain inside of a cyborg body, and even he is still pretty different from him. Even though his "tries to steal Goku's body" gimmick would sound similar to Captain Ginyu's, he is otherwise pretty different to him too, and his movie came out a month before Ginyu even debuted in the manga, much less stole Goku's body[[note]]World's strongest came out in March 1990, and Ginyu Force debuted in chapter 272 a month later. Ginyu stole Goku's body in chapter 286 in August[[/note]].

While his final clash with Goku mirrors Goku's final clash with Vegeta, otherwise Dr. Wheelo is the most original villain of the bunch, predating Dr. Gero's concept of being a MadScientist with a brain inside of a cyborg body, and even he is still pretty different from him. * OutOfFocus: He is noteworthy as being one of the most infrequently appearing movie villains, never being seen again in the anime and only appearing in six of the dozens upon dozens of ''Dragon Ball'' games since. Also, he has a grand total of ''one'' piece of merch, a tiny gumball figurine. Even generic Frieza Soldiers have gotten more than that!

* HumanAliens: Daiz. The only unusual thing about him is that he has no eyebrows. It wouldn't be illogical to assume he's a Saiyan like Turles either, although he has no tail. The artbooks, however, state that he's from the planet Kabocha.
* MysteriousPast: None of their pasts are explored in their film, but they are all revealed via the ''Akira Toriyama - The World'' artbooks released between 1990 and 1995. Likewise, their names (apart from Rezun and Lakasei) are never stated in the movie, only in [[AllThereInTheManual supplementary material]].

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Despite "Tullece" fitting with the food naming motif, the character has also been referred to as "Turles" and "Taurus", depending on the dub. There are also Tales, Tarles or Tares. In an Aversion, he's also called Raditz in one dub.

** Meta Cooler's defeat isn't much better; somehow, Goku and Vegeta were able to overload the Big Gete Star despite being beaten half to death and neither one being as strong as even a single one of the warriors it created.

* KickTheDog: [[spoiler:He forcibly turns Gohan into a great ape and sets him loose on his own father, forcing Goku to figure out how to remove his rampaging son's tail without otherwise hurting him]].

* SparingTheAces: Like later movie villain Cooler, Turles has a soft spot for particularly courageous fighters and will attempt to recruit them if possible, as evidenced by Daiz's backstory and his attempt to recruit Gohan.

* VillainTeamUp: More or less forced into one when Towa and Mira recruit him to work with Turles in ''Xenoverse 2''. He's not really happy about it, except that it allows him the chance for that time-honored DBZ villain motivation, revenge.

* TheJuggernaut: This better explains his transformed state. He's bulky, presumably gets some sort of chest armor, and shrugs off the attacks of Vegeta, Trunks, Goku and, Piccolo.

* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: He blasts through his female minion Zangya just to get to Gohan.[[note]]This however was probably {{justified}} on the writer's part, to prevent Gohan from killing a female character.[[/note]]

* {{Mooks}}: Wheelo's Bio-Men, Slug's troopers, and Metal Cooler's Cyclopian Guards. They all basically exist to give the [[{{Jobber}} jobbers]] like Krillin and Gohan (pre-movie 8) something to kill. Also, coincidentally, all three groups of mooks are about to kill Gohan until they are dispatched by [[BigDamnHeroes Piccolo]]. The fact that they actually manage to defeat some of the heroes before being trashed (with the Cyclopian Guards actually defeating and capturing Gohan, Krillin, Roshi, Oolong, and Yajirobe) at least makes them more competent than some other mooks.

** In ''Videogame/DragonBallXenoverse2'' the ''PlayerCharacter'' can be appointed to this role if they train with Turles long enough.

* BreakoutVillain: Turles is effectively one of the most popular NonSerialMovie villains, appearing in one special along with other villains, being one of the most consistent movie characters to appear in video games to the point he gets several shots in the opening of ''[[VideoGame/DragonBallZBudokaiTenkaichi Budokai Tenkaichi 2]]'', and is effectively the most recurring villain in ''Videogame/DragonBallXenoverse2'', but his popularity is not as big as Broly or Cooler.

* EnemyMine: With Slug on ''Videogame/DragonBallXenoverse2''. They were about to fight for the Dragon Balls on Namek for the wish of [[{{Immortality}} Eternal Life]], but decided to stop once the player character appeared.

Frieza considers him a pale imitation of him with an absurd ego. This would be hypocritical of Frieza to say, but remember, Frieza has the power to say so. The Galactic Patrol also wanted to arrest him, but never could.

** Noticeably, Turles never receives the Super Saiyan transformation in ''Videogame/DragonBallHeroes'', being among the very few major Saiyan characters to never get it (The others being King Vegeta, Tarble and Pan) instead, he is fused with the four stars Dark Dragon Ball, and thanks to the fruit of tree of might, he becomes as strong as a Demon God.

* FlatCharacter: Bojack probably suffers the most out of all the movie villains of having very little personality. We're told he and his crew were once a threat so great the Kais united to seal them in a star (a measure they didn't even take with Frieza), but we're never told where they came from, how they got so powerful, or, most damningly, what they ''want''. This lack of motive is further heightened by Bojack homing straight in on Earth after his release, without any explanation as to how he can sense months-old energy from the Cell Games or what he even wants from Earth besides "a nice planet" to rule. He makes a comment to Gohan about telling his father hello when he sees him in the afterlife, but we're never told how he even knows of Goku or why he even cares. The list goes on and on. ''Videogame/DragonBallXenoverse2'' tries to give him some depth, but he's still by far the most undeveloped of the movie villains.

* MakeMeWannaShout: The OVA shows three different version's of an attack Aka uses, all involving his mouth. The second involves him holding up an energy ball, which he then enhances by speaking or laughing through it.

* TheGhost: In ''Videogame/DragonBallXenoverse2'', a Time Patroller named Jierra who belongs to Frieza's race recalled fighting against him and almost defeating him, but had to stop since they needed him in order to pass on Frieza's family the legend of the Super Saiyans. He also called him annoying. This is interesting to note as this is the only nod to Chilled outside of ''Heroes'', as the ''[[Anime/DragonBallEpisodeOfBardock Episode of Bardock]]'' is considered a WhatIf story.

* NiceJobBreakingItHerod: [[spoiler:''Super Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultra God Mission'' reveals that he wiped out the Glass Tribe in the distant past, sparing only Lagss (Hearts' enforcer) and Vidro (Aeos's enforcer). With assistance from [[StarCrossedLovers Yamcha, Vidro]] gets payback against Chilled during the Space-Time Tournament after Demigra summons him alongside various other villains.]]

* EliteMook: Played with. He's the only member of the Galaxy Soldiers other than Bojack shown to be able to transform, but he's the first of them to die and the only reason he even transforms at all seems to be foreshadowing to the audience that Bojack can do it.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: If inconsistent ones. He's not above ambushing Trunks with a blast out of nowhere, but he does give him a chance to surrender when it looks like he's beaten.

* LonersAreFreaks: He notably fights alone, unlike all the other Galaxy Soldiers who fight very much as a unit.

* ConfusionFu: Has a vast range of bizarre, unpredictable powers and abilities that throw Goku, Vegeta, and Pikkon completely off-guard.

* UnskilledButStrong: Strongly implied to have serious issues with this, especially in his first form, as at times he seemed perplexed by the extent of his own powers, and Goku gave him a good run for a good portion of their fight before he turned Super Saiyan 3 and forced a transformation to fix this. Even as Super Janemba, who's so powerful that he quickly overpowers Goku with just ''two'' hits once they successfully connect, Goku actually gets the upper hand at first because the Saiyan just completely outclasses him in pure combat skill and manages to get around his initial attacks, and it's only when Janemba starts using his [[MechanicallyUnusualFighter out of norm abilities]] that he can actually make his attacks land and smack Goku down.
* VerbalWeakness: As powerful as he is, he's still like a sensitive child and can be literally hurt or have his hold over a realm broken... by childish insults. It's not enough to kill him or really damage him, but it can stagger him enough for Pikkon to get an opening with him.

* CrimeSyndicate: The way they are organized is less like a corrupt empire (like the Frieza Force) and more like a criminal organization made up of space gangsters. The fact that one of the platoon members (Amond) is a criminal certainly emphasizes this point.

* PowerArmor: Cacao's armor makes him immune to all energy-based attacks. It also contains a jet propulsion system that can help him maintain and close the distance between himself and his foes, as Yamcha found out the hard way.

* HeroesWantRedheads: Krillin expressed attraction towards her in the movie, and in the ''Budokai Tenkaichi'' games.

* SignatureHeadgear: Wears a trucker hat when he first shows up to complete the American look and serves as a basis for his [[AlternativeCharacterInterpretation personality in the English localization]]. Although, it falls off at one point when Goku attacks him and is then never seen again.

* SoLastSeason: Averted in the SortingAlgorithmOfEvil. He comes between the Cell and Majin Buu timeskip, but his fight with SSJ2 Gohan is far less difficult than his fight with Super Perfect Cell. He may even be weaker than Perfect Cell, though that's far less definitive.
