* InexplicablyAwesome: No explanation is given as to why this mere space pirate is stronger than Vegeta and Trunks post-Cell Saga (and thus implicitly in the same ball-park as Perfect Cell, if not Super Perfect Cell).

* KickTheDog: When Bojack mercilessly hugs Gohan, he nearly killed him. Gets another when he kills his own henchwoman Zangya.

* NonstandardCharacterDesign: Bojack has narrower eyes than the previous characters, which gives him a slightly more realistic looking face than previous main villains.

* WorldsStrongestMan: His giant form is stated by King Kai to be far stronger than Frieza, which makes him an absolute powerhouse for the era. However, the production of the movie predates the reveal of Frieza's final form, so it could be interpreted as Slug only being more powerful than Frieza's earlier forms, as even his second form was a closely guarded secret. Still though, this would make hom leagues beyond the entire cast excluding Vegeta and Goku at this point in time.

* BloodKnight: Really debatable with the first form, definitely the case with the second; as he laughs manically seeing his sword crumble due to Vegeta's power.

* NominalVillain: The Saike Demon is corrupted into becoming Janemba by the evil energies unleashed the Soul Cleansing Machine. Otherwise, he isn't a malicious person and is at worst a teenage slacker.

* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: He's more or less a direct {{Expy}} of Buu, sharing many similarities with the UnskilledButStrong RubberMan that force the heroes to fuse to have a chance to defeat him. However, while Buu is a VillainousGlutton that was SmarterThanTheyLook, Janemba is a GenericDoomsdayVillain with the ability warp reality to his whims with a minor VerbalWeakness.

A demon created when Hell's Soul Cleansing Machine breaks down, immersing the scatterbrained ogre taking care of it in the collected evils of human history. First started off as a fat childlike yellow being (referred to as "Janempa", with a ''p'', in the Funimation dub). But after Goku trounces that form, it transforms into a more fight-capable body that needed Gogeta to defeat him.

* BonusBoss: He was this in his debut.

* {{Bishonen}}: A very pretty man with a flamboyant personality.

* BadBoss: As his beautiful henchwoman Zangya finds out the hard way. It is any wonder she shows TheStarscream tendencies when they fight each other in the video games?

* WouldHurtAChild: He had no qualms with fighting Gohan.
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: He blasts through his female minion Zangya just to get to Gohan. [[note]]This however was probably {{justified}} on the writer's part, to prevent Gohan from killing a female character.[[/note]]

* TheDarkChick: Aside from Krillin, all her fighting is done in a group.

* OverprotectiveDad: Played with. On the one hand, he's notably more sentimental about his progeny than most Saiyan parents are, pleading with King Vegeta to spare his son's life when most Saiyans would have shrugged it off. He stays by Broly's side for the remainder of his life and seems to take some pride in his son's abnormal strength. But on the other hand, he also enslaves said son to his will vial a SlaveCollar when Broly grows beyond his control and has no problems with basically weaponizing him as the instrument in his revenge against the Vegeta dynasty for ruining both their lives.

* OutOfFocus: He is noteworthy as being one of the most infrequently appearing movie villains, never being seen again in the anime and only appearing in five of the dozens upon dozens of ''Dragon Ball'' games since[[note]]He's the only DBZ Movie Villain that has yet to appear in ''Dokkan Battle'' in any form besides Garlic Jr. whose playable units are based off his filler arc[[/note]]. Also, he has a grand total of ''one'' piece of merch, a tiny gumball figurine. Even generic Frieza Soldiers have gotten more than that!

* GenericDoomsdayVillain: Some of them have really thin or non-existent reasons for attacking Earth. At most, they might want revenge or to TakeOverTheWorld, but a good chunk are just destroying things for its own sake.

* GenericDoomsdayVillain: One of the worst examples of Dragon Ball Z's movie villains. Lord Slug is an EvilOverlord whose plan appears to be going planet to planet hidden inside a frozen meteorite, kill all the inhabitants, and then freeze the planet to use it as another meteor to hide in. Why is he doing this? What is his endgoal? We certainly don't know.

* GenericDoomsdayVillain: He's just a world-destroying monster simply because that's what he is, no reason or intentions back his actions. This is an example of Administrivia/TropesAreNotBad however, as the flip side is that this makes ''much'' more sense in the plot than the cockiness or arrogance of... well, just about every other villain in the franchise might. Hirudegarn literally cannot understand the power he possesses or what the Z-Warriors can bring against him. He's just an entity of malevolence and destruction.

** Ginger to Garlic Jr.
** Kochin to Dr. Wheelo.
** Amond to Turles.
** Angira to Slug.
** Salza to Cooler in his first movie. The Big Gete Star in his second.
** Zangya to Bojack, though this example relates to the video games more than the film itself.
* {{Expy}}: About half of them to some degree or another, with Lord Slug and Janemba (for King Piccolo and Majin Buu respectively) being the most blatant examples. In particular, they usually copy whatever villain was prominent in the most recent arc of the series at the time (Garlic Junior to Piccolo Junior, Turles to Vegeta, Cooler to Frieza, Androids 13-15 to 16-20, Janemba to Super Buu).
** Invoked with Cooler, everyone including ''Piccolo'' thought he was Frieza, but in reality, he's actually Frieza's ''brother'', and has a different personality and motivation.

* BaldOfEvil: Ginger and Sansho, though the latter has long sideburns to compensate.

* ForeheadOfDoom: Nicky has a tall one.

* NoBrows: None of them has eyebrows.
* OffModel: Nicky's background cameo in ''Fusion Reborn'' depicts him with Sansho's color scheme and with black hair.

* RedEyesTakeWarning: Ginger's eyes have red sclera.

* UnderwearOfPower: Ginger and Sansho both wear briefs.

* AliensAreBastards: Mainly in his second appearance.

* AxCrazy: He puts up a (very) thin facade of being AffablyEvil, but when pressed he shows his true colors as this in very short order.

* OffModel: Zeeun's cameo in ''Fusion Reborn'' gives him pink skin similar to Ebifurya's from ''The World's Strongest''.

* AlienBlood: It's purple.

* TheCameo: Appears along the rest of the reborn villains in ''Anime/DragonBallZFusionReborn'', with a [[OffModel different armor color]].

* FlatCharacter: They really don’t get much characterization in ''Bojack Unbound''. The video games have expanded on Zangya’s personality.

* NotSoStoic: She is very scared when she sees Gohan as a [=SSJ2=].

* TheStarscream: In ''Budokai Tenkaichi 3'', though given [[BadBoss Bojack's treatment]], can you really blame her?

* BreakoutVillain: Turles is effectively one of the most popular NonSerialMovie villains, appearing in one special along with other villains, being one of the most consistent movie characters to appear in video games, and is effectively the most recurring villain in ''Videogame/DragonBallXenoverse2'', but his popularity is not as big as Broly or Cooler.

* {{Expy}}: He's a combination of the biggest threats in the ''Dragon Ball Z'' arcs. He's as big as a giant ape Saiyan, he has universally feared power like Frieza, he can absorb people like Cell (while not having any Ki like the Androids), and is near-impervious to physical harm like Majin Buu.
** To Majin Buu specifically, as he's also an EldritchAbomination that lives only for destruction, was created/awakened by an EvilSorcerer (a group of them in his case), was sealed away eons ago, is revived in the present by one of the evil sorcerers to be used as a weapon, and eventually kills said sorcerer.

* AsskickingEqualsAuthority: He's easily the strongest man in his Crusher Corps, even before eating a fruit from the Tree of Might.

* RichIdiotWithNoDayJob: He's up there with the Briefs family on the wealth scale, but has no technical training or really any kind of useful skills whatsoever.
