A digimon born from the negative thoughts of humans combined with the latent grudges of digimon that died before they were able to evolve. Its arrival was prophecized since ancient times. In addition to the grudges of the digimon that comprise it, information including those digimons' attacks and evolution lines are contained within its massive body. However, the small body at the top is its true form. It was originally sealed in the same area as Millenniumon, but was recently freed, but has since broken free of its restraints.

With a body comprised entirely of metal, it is one of the strongest Digimon in the Digital World. Built by synthesizing the parts of numerous Cyborg Digimon, it is believed those that came before it were merely nothing more than prototypes for Mugendramon. Though it possesses power as well as overwhelming intellect, Mugendramon does not share other Digimons' sense of "self-will". Rather, it is driven by a program implanted with evil intentions that has itself been installed it its Digicore. This malicious Digicore supplies Mugendramon with infinite power.

For a non-protagonist digimon, Mugendramon has had a considerable amount of influence on the mythos. Not only is it one half of the nigh-CosmicHorror Millenniumon, it is also the basis for later digimon such as Chaosdramon.

A strong dragon warrior clad in [[{{Unobtainium}} Chrome Digizoid]] armor and the Mega form of Greymon-species digimon. Though it differs from other, more monstrous Digimon that bear the Greymon name and has a humanoid form, it has greatly increased its speed and power. The Dramon Killer weapons on its arms are especially effective against Dramon-species digimon, but because [=WarGreymon=] is a dragon-like digimon himself, they effectively serve as a double-edged sword and endanger [=WarGreymon=] itself as well. In addition, the two shells on its back can unite to form the strongest shield, the "Brave Shield."

[=WarGreymon=] is the Mega form of the original Agumon, and as such, has a sort of legendary status in the Digimon mythos. He pretty much [[FountainOfExpies set the precedent]] for most of the final forms of protagonist digimon that came afterwards, including other Digimon that bear the "Greymon" name. He can fuse with [=MetalGarurumon=] into Omegamon and has an "evil" counterpart in the form of [=BlackWarGreymon=].

* BishounenLine: Described as being as such for the Greymon line in his profile, in that he's humanoid while (most) Greymon are big and monstrous.
* EnergyBall: His "Gaia Force" technique, which takes the form of a massive fireball. He appears to need the Dramon Killers to make the really big ones, as when they're wrecked in "Our War Game", he is only seen creating smaller ones.
* ElementalAbsorption: In a variation where the user draws on ambient elemental energy instead of the opponent's attack, [=WarGreymon's=] profile describes "Gaia Force" as him gathering energy from the surrounding atmosphere and throwing it in the form of a high-temperature energy ball.
* EverythingsBetterWithSpinning: "Brave Tornado" and "Great Tornado".
* {{Flight}}: Shown to be capable of it in all his fictional appearances.
* FieryRedhead
* ForMassiveDamage: Rather infamously, its Dramon Killer weapons.
* IconicLogo: The Crest of Courage adorns the "Brave Shield".

to:

* KillItWithFire: "Gaia Force" and "Grey Fire" are both heat and fire based.
* LizardFolk: Classified as a "Dragon Man" type.
* LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: The Brave Shield, whose halves are mounted on the backs of his shoulders.
* TakesOneToKillOne: [=WarGreymon=] is a dragon-like digimon, and his Dramon Killers are effective against other such digimon. Of course, this doesn't exclude him from being vulnerable to their effects, either.
* WeaponOfChoice: The Brave Shield and Dramon Killers.
* WolverineClaws: The Dramon Killers effectively fit this trope at least visually, unsheathing from the arm guards in his evolution sequence and occupying the position of his "knuckles" while his actual hands are free.

[=WarGreymon=] also has a form when affected by the X-Antibody.

* MakingASplash: "Poseidon Force."
* MyHeroZero: Invoked in his "Gaia Force ZERO" and "Grey Fire ZERO" attacks.
* PowerCrystal: Like many other X-Antibody digimon, he has several of them adorning his armor.

Mega-level Digimon are referred to as ''Kyūkyokutai'', or "Ultimate", in Japan, which [[DubNameChange naturally causes some confusion with the level the dub refers to as "Ultimate"]]. The Mega level is the sixth and final stage of a Digimon's evolution, or "digivolution" cycle. Naturally, as those Digimon who reach the Mega level have to survive for very long periods of time in order to even ''reach'' this level, they are quite rare. However, there are some Digimon that are capable of [[BeyondTheImpossible evolving past the limitations of the Ultimate level and become even more powerful]]. Some of these are known as ''Chō Kyūkyokutai'' or "Super Ultimate" Digimon - the American equivalent for this term is known as "Ultra", which was revealed in ''Digimon World DS''.

Referred to as the "final form of the Seadramon species" of Digimon, [=MetalSeadramon's=] body is covered in [[{{Unobtainium}} Chrondigizoit alloy]], which is an intermediate between unprocessed Chrondigizoit metal and living tissue. In addition to being able to reflect any attack, his body has the fastest movement speed of all aquatic Digimon. It was remodeled for the purposes of interception under the sea, and serves on both land, sea, and air.

->'''Debuted in:''' ''Digimon Pendulum 2.0 - Deep Savers''
->'''Attacks:''' (''Original'') Ultimate Stream, Hell Squeeze, Poseidon Divide; (''Dub'') River of Power, Giga Ice Blast

* AnIcePerson: According to the dub, with its "Giga Ice Blast" attack. In the original, [=MetalSeadramon=] has never been shown to have any ice based attacks like other Seadramon species Digimon.
* BreathWeapon: Considering he fires "Ultimate Stream" out of his ''nose'', this most certainly applies.
** KillItWithFire: Shown to breathe fire in the anime.
* ChromeChampion
* HollywoodCyborg
* FlyingSeafoodSpecial
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: A "Dramon" type Digimon. This puts him [[ForMassiveDamage at the mercy of]] [=WarGreymon's=] attacks in the anime.
* SeaMonster
* SinisterSchnoz: It's a ''frikkin cannon''.
* WeCanRebuildHim
* WaveMotionGun: His "Ultimate Stream" attack.

!!Piemon ''(Piedmon)''

An elusive Majin[[note]]Demon Man[[/note]] digimon, who, like most of its kind, are shrouded in mystery. Thought to be from another reality, its true form is not understood, as is the purpose of is existence. Nevertheless, its strength is unparalleled, and should one run across Piemon, you would have little to do besides curse your fate. It carries four swords in the "magic box" upon its back.

* CoolMask
* BalefulPolymorph: Has the ability to transform people into keychains in the anime.
* BlowYouAway: His "Toy Wonderness" attack.
* EnergyBall: "Ending Snipe."
* ImpossibleHourglassFigure: A male example, in that Piemon has a ''really'' thin waist.
* LeanAndMean
* MonsterClown
* NewPowersAsThePlotDemands: How Piemon's "Clock Trick" attack works varies each time he uses it.
* PointyEars
* SpaceMaster: How "Mask's Square" works; it gives Piemon total control over an area, allowing him to teleport himself and his attacks, as well as control those within it to a limited degree.
* ThrowingYourSwordAlwaysWorks: "Trump Sword", though his profile also mentions he can teleport them at will.
* VillainousHarlequin: Has only shown up in media as an antagonist. Though, at the very least, the Piemon in ''DigimonVTamer01'' was as an AntiVillain.
* YouCannotGraspTheTrueForm: Said to be the trait of Piemon, and all Majin digimon like him.

[[folder: Four Great Dragons]]

!!Four Great Dragons

A group of dragon-based digimon based off of the Four Dragon Kings that rule over the four seas in Chinese mythology. With Goddramon as the most powerful among them, their ranks also include Megidramon, Qinglongmon (who is also one of the Four Holy Beasts), and Holydramon. Though not much is known (or has been done with) about them, they are known to institute a test known as "Trial of the Four Great Dragons", which only dragon digimon can undertake. To this date, Slayerdramon is the only one that has successfully completed this quest.

'''Tropes that apply to more than one of the Four Great Dragons or the group as a whole:'''

* DragonsUpTheYinYang: Holydramon and Megidramon are more based on western theology than Asian, but they all fall into this category by virtue of being based on the Four Dragon Kings, who are part of a Chinese myth.
* LightIsGood: Goddramon, Holydramon, and Qinglongmon are all Holy digimon, and in some way oppose evil. [[DarkIsEvil Megidramon, not so much.]]
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: A fuzzy, pink dragon with a dog-like face and angelic wings, a golden-colored mash up of eastern and western influences, a Chinese-style dragon that commands lightning, and a demonic dragon of the apocalypse. Yeah, I'd say we got this trope covered.
* TrainingFromHell: The "Trial of the Four Great Dragons", which is mentioned in the profile for Slayerdramon.

!! Holydramon (''Magnadramon'')

A Holy Dragon Digimon that is proud of having the "strongest powers in the sky. Known to be the final form of a Holy Beast Digimon, its exact location is unknown and sightings of it are rare. It is said that when evil energy overflows the digital world, Holydramon will appear to cleanse that evil.

For several years, Holydramon was considered to be the Mega form of Tailmon[=/=]Gatomon, and was portrayed as such in the third movie and ''DigimonRumbleArena''. While the ''DigimonAdventure'' RPG uses Ofanimon in this role instead, this can still be considered a valid "canonical" evolution..

->'''Debuted in:''' ''Digimon Pendulum 1.5 - Nature Spirits''
->'''Attacks:''' (''Original'') Holy Flame, Apocalypse, Hermit Fog; (''Dub'') Fire Tornado, Dragon Fire[=/=]Apocalypse, Hermit Fog

* AnIcePerson: Her "Hermit Fog" technique is a breath of cold, corrosive air.
* {{Bowdlerize}}: The english version removes any reference to her attacks being "holy" in any way, and don't even vaguely allude to it like with other holy digimon.
* BreathWeapon: "Holy Flare" and "Hermit Fog."
* DeathFromAbove: Her "Apocalypse" attack is a rain of holy energy beams from the sky.
* DistaffCounterpart: The feminine-looking dragon to Goddramon's masculine-looking one.
* EverythingsbetterWithSpinning: "Holy Flare" takes the form of a spinning blast of fire.
* GiantFlyer
* GoodWingsEvilWings: Has multiple angel-like wings running down her back.
* HolyHandGrenade
* KillItWithFire: Her "Holy Flare" attack.
* PinkMeansFeminine
* ShoutOut: Holydramon is similar to Falco from ''TheNeverEndingStory'', in that they are both fuzzy, serpentine-bodied dragons with dog-like snouts.

* AscendedExtra: He and the other Chaos Generals were completely forgotten after ''Digimon World 2'', only for this guy to show up in ''DigimonMasters'' as an obtainable digimon.
* EnergyBall: [=ChaosPiemon's=] version of "Mask's Square" differs from vanilla Piedmon by being a black, [[DragonBall "Spirit Bomb"-like]] attack, instead of a SpaceMaster technique.

working on making profile pages for Digimon species like the Pokemon have. starting with Megas and working my way down.

Added DiffLines:

A list of Digimon at the Mega level.

All Digimon listed here are listed in order of year-of-appearance, save for those that belong to special groups. Those Digimon are listed in individual folders on this page ''after'' the main listings. The tropes listed here pertain to how these Digimon are depicted in Bandai's profiles and across the broader Digimon canon, rather as they are in a single work.

As the dub version is many times inconsistent, the Digimon covered here are listed by their Japanese names, with their English name(s) listed second.

'''Some tropes that apply to multiple Mega-level Digimon, or Mega-level Digimon as a whole:'''

* BeyondTheImpossible: The Mega level being the "final" stage of evolution has repeatedly been superpassed, whether it's by [[OneWingedAngel mode changing]], [[FusionDance fusing]], or [[TimeToUnlockMoreTruePotential simply gaining more and more power]]. Several of these are considered Super Ultimates/Ultra Digimon, while others are just considered more powerful Megas.
* OlympusMons: Many Mega-level Digimon are based on gods and fulfill equivalent roles in the Digital World's cosmology, and nearly ''all'' of them have huge amounts of power.
* [[PersonOfMassDestruction Digital Monster of Mass Destruction]]: Whether it's in most episodes of the anime, the manga, or even just Bandai's profiles, it's clear that a single Mega-level is capable of causing great amounts of destruction on their own.

!! [=HerakleKabuterimon=] ''([=HerculesKabuterimon=])''

An insect Digimon based on the hercules beetle, [=HerakleKabuterimon=] evolved by incorporating the data of Kuwagamon and Kabuterimon-species Digimon. Because it has traits of both types, he eliminates their respective weaknesses and reconciles their opposing natures. Its body shines gold, and its powerful wings allow it to cross the Digital World at supersonic speed. It is rivals with [=GranKuwagamon=], continuing the Kabuterimon and Kuwagamon species enmity with one another.

The ''DigimonAdventure RPG'' uses [=HerakleKabuterimon=] as the Mega form of Tentomon.

An Ancient Beast Digimon said to be capable of moving at mach speed. Its origins are unknown, but it is theorized that it was originally a Leomon transformed into a beast. With its speed, it can easily dodge attacks, and its overdeveloped fangs and claws possess great power. The needle-like hairs on its back are poisonous, and its claws can tear an enemy to shreds.

It wears a Holy Ring around its neck, much like the ones worn by Holy-species digimon like Tailmon and Angewomon.
