* PickyEater: When Senshi first offered to cook something for her she immediately insisted she would kill him if it included any monster, which limited him to cooking with mushroom, rice, garlic, cheese, and butter. [[folder:Current Thorden (Main) Party Members]]

!General party tropes:
* BadassCrew: There's absolutely no denying the skill and strength of the entire party, which is doubly impressive because they're lacking one of the most critical things for a party - a Cleric. Their original party would've killed the Red Dragon had it not been for severe hunger, and ex-member Namari outright admits to having killed dragons before.
* ExperiencedProtagonist: The protagonists are definitely not newbies. They are very experienced people capable of surviving and telling the readers the many lores behind the great dungeon.
* FighterMageThief: The party at the start of chapter 2 fits the description perfectly with Laius the Swordsman, Marcille the Magician, and Chilchack the Trapmaster. Senshi is a mix of Fighter and Woodsman/Ranger.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: There are some variations on name spelling, particularly Chilchack/Tirchac or Laius/Laios.

!!Laius Thorden
* AdmiringTheAbomination: Downplayed, but Laius is quicker to awe at the dangerous monsters of the dungeon than be actually wary of them. Played straighter when, upon laying eyes on [[spoiler:Farlyn's chimera transformation]] for the first time (which he has just seen kill several people) his first thought is to admire how cool it looks ''before'' he starts worrying [[spoiler:about her monstrous state]].
* AnArmAndALeg: [[spoiler: He loses his left leg just below the knee to deal a fatal blow to the red dragon. Marcille reattaches it]].
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Laius may be an oddball sometimes but when it comes to action he knows what to do (most of the time) and how to win.
* DitzyGenius: Has a great deal of knowledge about monsters, but seems to be severely lacking in common sense sometimes.
** It comes to bite him later on. When Sureau learns that [[spoiler:Laius' group revived Farlyn using black magic, he admits eventually that he would probably have done the same thing, Laius' rather devil-may-care attitude towards that, eating monsters, and telling Sureau that he won't tell anyone what they've done infuriates Sureau.]]
* ExtremeOmnivore: Laius wants to eat ''animated armors''. He kind of manages to do it.
* {{Hypocrite}}: He disagreed with Senshi for bonding with a monster because people can not know what's exactly inside a monster's mind. All at the same time [[spoiler: keeping a living sword and hiding it from the rest of the party]]. Although his [[spoiler: living sword]] is too weak to physically harm him and seems incapable of independent thought, he still doesn't practice what he preaches.
** [[spoiler: This bites him really hard when his living sword ran away during the fight with Red Dragon.]]
* IdiotHero: Laius is an odd mix dependable and undependable, there are many situations where he seems incredibly stupid and others where he seems very capable just as much, people follows his commands without questioning in the later moments.
* LivingWeapon: The sword he took from the Living Armor still has a living parasite in it, and it reacts to potentially dangerous monsters.
* LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: He carries his shield around most of the time.
* MagicKnight: Although Farlyn tried and failed to teach him magic, Marcille's methods seem to be bearing a little fruit.
* NightmareFetishist: Absolutely fascinated by monsters, and had been deeply curious about their flavor for quite a while before the events of the series. Still, he fully understands how dangerous they can be.
* SuperSenses: Maybe not to a "super" level, but he can hear the difference between the footsteps of an undead and living being.
* TheSecretOfLongPorkPies: Let's just say he tries ''really'' hard to test the definition of [[WhatMeasureIsANonHuman what is demi-human and what isn't]], and put delicious demi-human eggs to his friends' lunch without their knowings. Chilchak was horrified and later confronted Laius about this but they both agreed to keep Marsilla, who is also strictly against eating anything demi-human, in the dark.
* WhatAnIdiot: InUniverse, among his various ideas, [[spoiler:eating RAW SEAFOOD is not one of the best. He gets infected with parasites for his trouble.]]
* WhatTheHellHero: His saner comrades call out on his obsession of eating anything in the dungeon rather than focusing on rescuing his sister. Chilchak gives a vicious one to him for almost crossing the line of trying to eat demi-humans like Mermen.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Laius initially has a fear of animated armors due to these being responsible for his first death.

!!Marcille
* AwesomeButImpractical: Her way of harvesting mandrakes. However, mandrakes harvested her way turn out to be better tasting.
* BlackMage: Her magic is combat oriented and explosive. But, she also knows healing and revival magic as well. It's hard to say if she's more of TheRedMage, or if healing magic is just more common in this world.
* ChekhovsHobby: Early chapters have her offer to heal and revive people, but is always turned down in favor of just waiting for an actual healer to do the job, and she mentions knowing how to create golems. As the party makes it deeper into the dungeon she begins actively healing, [[spoiler: golem creation is considered a [[TheDarkArts forbidden magic]] hinting at the [[BloodMagic nature of her method of revival magic]].]]
* TheComplainerIsAlwaysWrong: Everytime the party decides to eat something she will complain about how weird and disgusting it is then be proven wrong when it turns out to be delicious.
* TheDarkArts: [[spoiler: She dabbles in forbidden magic, believing that magic is inherently neither good nor evil and only man can be both.]]
** [[spoiler: Could also be terribly, terribly wrong about this - when she's using forbidden magic to cast Dispel on the Mad Sorcerer's dragonblood minions, she starts chuckling and smiling as she's spattered with blood, bleeding from the nose, and her eyes are unclear and distant.]]
* HeroicSacrifice: It's thankfully temporary, but she takes the opportunity while her arm is bitten by a Cockatrice to cast an explosion spell on its snake neck at point blank range, blowing off the snake head and giving Senshi a chance to attack the cock's head before turning to stone.
* ICallItVera: Named her staff Ambrosia.
* MagicHair: Proper hair maintenance is a basic rule of magic, as sufficiently messy hair can even interfere with magic. The only times her hair isn't braided is when she sleeps or [[spoiler: when she's [[SlipknotPonytail turning to forbidden magic to revive Farlyn]].]]
* TheMedic: She knows a few healing spells and thus is the reduced party's go-to girl for healing, but not being a Cleric like Farlyn ensures a vastly reduced effect.
** Unlike Farlyn, she is more like a [[MeatgrinderSurgery meatgrinder surgeon]] rather than a nursing healer. She heals wounds really fast but her patients will experience extreme pain as their damaged organs, torn flesh, and cracked bones correct themselves. On top of that, it only heals it to immediate working order - the rest of the healing is VERY slow going. [[spoiler:Where Laius' leg was reattached, it's a ghastly, still half-open and torn gash he keeps '''scratching''' at until Farlyn instantly heals it completely.]]
* [[OnlySaneMan Only Sane Woman]]: She's the only one to point out how outlandish or dangerous Laius and Senshi's plans are. Chilchack is more resigned and goes along with it.
* RomanticTwoGirlFriendship: Has this (at the very least) with Farlyn.
* TheSmartGirl: Graduated at the top of her class. She joined an adventuring party to acquire some practical knowledge to go with her theoretical one.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Fan translations spell her name as "Marshill" or "Marsilla" before settling down on "Marcille".
* SquishyWizard: Not very strong in straight combat, but let her get some distance and get serious and things die quickly.

!!Chilchack
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: He's the party's expert on all things pertaining traps and the like.
* BerserkButton: Not following his orders when it comes to traps, due to the nature of how they work and can go off in tandem - which usually results in him getting killed.
* EveryonesBabySister: Senshi treats him like a young child, despite him being an adult, much to his displeasure. At one point, Senshi even tried to teach him about "pistil and stamen", which horrifies Chilchack.
* DeadpanSnarker
* ItsAllMyFault: After [[spoiler:the battle with the red dragon]], he mentions that he hadn't stuck with the party the rest might have given up early rather than risking their lives.
* KnightInSourArmor: This is the reasoning behind him being OnlyInItForTheMoney. He sees people who claim to work for free as the least deserving of trust as there is nothing in place to ensure it, and the way things are set up for adventurers jumping from one job to the next based solely on pay and not completion is the fastest way to end up with no jobs other than potentially criminal ones. Things just do not work out well for anyone but those who approach the matter as anything other than employment.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: In one chapter he constantly complained about how the party's behavior will get them all killed someday and how he is willing to lie to them so they won't make him go further. But then he got speechless when it's pointed out he just didn't want his friends to die.
* NonActionGuy: As a thief, his expertise lies in disarming traps and picking locks, not fighting, although he can hold his own.
* OlderThanTheyLook: He's 29, but since he's a [[{{Hobbits}} Halfling]] one can't know from looks alone. This bewilders Laius, but to [[LongLived Marcille and Senshi]] he's still basically as young as he looks.
* OnlyInItForTheMoney: He ''says'' that his only reason for following Laius and Marcille back into the dungeon is because he agreed to complete the 'job' and was paid in advance; since they didn't slay the Red Dragon, his job isn't complete, and he's bound to Laius via his own terms. That said, it's apparent he actually cares about the rest of the party.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: After he learns that [[spoiler:killing the red dragon]] put a giant target on his and the party's backs, he briefly tries to find some way to trick Laius and Marcille into giving up on Farlyn and leaving the dungeon for their own good.
* SuperSenses: A trait of the halfling race.

!!Senshi
* AncestralWeapon: His pot used to be a heirloom shield, but since he doesn't need the shield he repurposed it into a pot. Oh, and it's made of Adamantine capable of withstanding an Undine's water jet - not to mention that it's an unbelievably excellent metal for cooking with.
** [[spoiler: He also molded the fabled Mithril into a ''cooking'' knife, which... [[{{Understatement}} underutilization]] would probably get him killed by Namari]]
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: He's the party's expert on all things pertaining foraging, cooking, and survivalist skills.
* AnAxeToGrind: However, he doesn't maintain it very well.
* BookDumb: Senshi is StreetSmart, but he doesn't read books much and distrust magic. He is even unaware that dragon carcass is very flammable due to its fuel-producing innards and tried to start fire nearby.
* CrazySurvivalist: He has elements of this, and his sanity is rather suspect although stable.
* DitzyGenius: He's an expert chef and fighter, but that fact that he tries to set off every trap in a room after being told they were all unique (and then uses them to ''cook'') probably says it all.
* DoesNotLikeMagic: The times he has supported the use of magic over more mundane methods of achieving a goal are incredibly rare, putting him at odds with Marcille regularly.
* MagicHair: Or in his case, Anti-magic Hair. His hair was so poorly maintained and so heavily caked in monster blood and fat that magic has little effect on him, a water walking spell only succeeds in making him sink slowly. Only after that failure and the failure of his own attempt at crossing the lake does he allow Marcille to help him wash it so he can join the rest of the group in simply walking across.
* MeaningfulName: His name translates into 'seeker' in Dwarven.
* NatureHero: Senshi lives alone and prefers spending time with the fauna than with other people. However the monsters of the dungeon still want to kill him. He admires them all the same.
* OurDwarvesAreAllTheSame: [[AvertedTrope Averted]], at least with him. He has no interest in blacksmithing, and he's not good at telling ores apart, instead his specialty is hunting, farming and cooking. He mentioned this would put him at odds with his old group, implying that these skills are commonplace among dwarves.
* SupremeChef: Senshi is an expert at cooking, although he too learns more tricks along the way.
* TeamDad: He views himself as one. When the party ran low on food, he blames himself for "not being able to provide food for the youngsters".

!!Farlyn Thorden
* [[spoiler: BackFromTheDead: She's resurrected by Marcille using Forbidden Magic combined with Dragon meat in order to reform her completely, as only her bones were left after the Red Dragon digested her.]]
* [[spoiler: CameBackStrong: After being resurrected with Dragon Meat through Forbidden Magic, Farlyn should not have had much, if any mana at all - despite this, she was not only able to drop a protection spell strong enough to leave Senshi undamaged from a point blank gas explosion, she did so INSTANTLY, without any incantation or preparation whatsoever.]]
* [[spoiler: CameBackWrong: Chilchak suspects her to be this, he doesn't like the forbidden magic Marcille used to resurrect her. Also the fact that the living sword hides itself and jumps out of Farlyn's hands might be a hint.]]
** [[spoiler: Remember Namari's explanation about how sometimes resurrection will cause souls to fuse together? Marcille did just that with Farlyn and the Red Dragon's souls thanks to the Forbidden Magic she used.]]
** [[spoiler: As of chapter 37, Farlyn is transformed by the Mad Sorcerer [[BodyHorror into a harpy chimera.]]]]
* ChildProdigy: As a child, she was capable of taking on a spirit with no training whatsoever while resisting possession and communicating with it - a rare trait that set her towards the path of being a Cleric when combined with her endless compassion.
* DontThinkFeel: Faryln's approach to magic. It works really well for her, but it turns out that it isn't the best method for teaching magic. She tried to teach Laius magic in the past this way with little success while when Marcilla later uses a more explained approach, he is able to pick it up relatively fast.
* HeroicSacrifice: In the beginning, she pushed Laius from the dragon's attack and casted teleport for the party before being eaten. It set off the events of the manga.
* MadeOfIron: [[spoiler:As a chimera, she shrugs off damage that would normally kill any of her components -- in her case, a slashed throat and stab wounds to her heart, right lung, and kidney -- either because they're no longer vital organs for the whole, or because she has redundancies.]]
* TheMedic: Way more proficient than Marcille in healing magic.
* TheSecretOfLongPorkPies: She's pretty much exactly like her brother Laius in this regard. Her response to the fact Laius and Co. had to eat monsters to survive was "A-AMAZING!!" and she even asked if they ate any merfolk outright!
* WhiteMagicianGirl: The original party's Cleric, capable of everything from Spirit Possession Wards to Escape Magic and Exorcism.

!!Namari
* FallenPrincess: Her family serve the Island's Governor before her father ran away and stole money. Her father's action not only ruined the family name but also made the Governor hates Dwarves.
* MultiMeleeMaster: She is knowledgeable of melee weapons, but she can't really handle projectile ones.
* OurDwarvesAreAllTheSame: She drinks and wields an axe. Give her a beard and put her in a mine and she'd be any other Dwarf. That being said, she is shown to use more than just the axe.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Opted out of returning into the dungeon to save Farlyn. Later chapters show she does seem to feel bad about this though upon meeting the group in a chance encounter later, she sticks to her decision.

!!Sureau
* BattleHarem: His new party consists of female warriors from his home country.
* HeroicSafeMode: Has gone into one after Farlyn's loss, neglecting food and sleep in his single-minded efforts to save her.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: "Sureau" is a shortened (and European-ized) version of his real name, Toshiro.
* {{Samurai}}: He looks the part. Later chapters confirm he hails from the east.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Like Namari, he chose not to return to the dungeon after barely escaping the dragon. We haven't seen him since to see if he feels bad about it.
** According to Namari, he's in love with Farlyn and has been pursuing his own lead on saving her. Confirmed when he is later encountered by Kabru's party with a new party of his own within the dungeon.
* ThisIsUnforgivable: [[spoiler:Although he doesn't say it aloud, he goes from friendly to ready to kill Laius after learning they used the dark arts to revive Farlyn. After he explains the potential consequences for everyone involved, it's kind of hard to blame him.]]
** Though Kabru gets him to admit that in the same situation, he probably would have done the same thing. It's mostly Laius' blithe attitude about it that infuriates him.

[[folder:Kabru Party Members]]

!General party tropes:
* LowerDeckEpisode: Kabru's party appears when we take a break from the adventures of the main cast and check in on an lower level party. Though it appears that we will eventually see them merge into a single story line.

!!Kabru
* {{Charisma}}: He seems to be good at understanding people and at motivating them
* TheCharmer: His handsome face and smooth behavior charms many girls. When he met Sureau's new party, two female members are immediately charmed by him. Marcille gets briefly flustered when he smiles at her.
* TheFace: He's the one in the party who deals with others
* {{Foil}}: To Laius. Kabru is a cynic who tends to believe the worst about people while Laius is a NiceGuy who is rather trusting. Furthermore, Kabru is a talented fighter against humans, but lacks experience fighting monsters while Laius despite being goofy, is an experienced adventurer and an expert on monsters.
* PVPBalanced: Oddly Kabru seems to be optimized for PlayerVersusPlayer as he is quite skilled at killing humaniods, but not so good at PlayerVersusEnvironment as he doesn't know where the vitals are on the monsters in the dungeon.
* TheSocialExpert: He has uncanny abilities to remember minor details about other people.

!!Lynnsha
* BlackMage: Appears to be the combat oriented magic user. Though she does seem to have some healing abilities.
* FanNickname: "DeathFlag Girl" since she's always setting up death flags for the party.
* InSeriesNickname: Commonly called Lynn rather than her full name. In fact, only Kabru has been shown using her full name, and only in times of distress.
* InterchangeableAsianCultures: Lynn is "eastern," and so even her own party members assume she might know other eastern characters (such as Sureau). In actuality there are different countries in the East, and Lynn wasn't even born in any of them as she is native to the island the dungeon is on.
* TallDarkAndSnarky
* {{Tsundere}}: She certainly is showing all the signs towards Kabru. Including assuming he's always trying to flirt with other women.

!!Daya
* AnAxeToGrind: Her weapon of choice is an axe
* OurDwarvesAreAllTheSame: Including the axe

!!Holm
* DeerInTheHeadlights: Has a tendency to freeze up in unexpected situations.
* OurGnomesAreWeirder: Seems to be the size of Halflings, but with magic. Apparently as magical as the Elves.
%%* WhiteMage: Appears to have some knowledge of healing magic? But didn't seem to know spirit wards.

!!Mickbell
* {{Halfling}}
* FoodAsBribe: It's terribly clear she's abusing Kuro's loyalty - all he sees in being a "Good Boss" is giving him food instead of actually paying him properly.
* InSeriesNickname: Most people call her Mick.
* LovableCoward: Mick often focuses on getting out of the way when danger threatens the party.
* WeirdTradeUnion: Mick refuses to join the guild, in contrast to the advice Chilchak gave her.

!!Kuro
* PettingZooPeople: He's a Kobold, which appears to be primarily [[WolfMan dog based]] in this universe.

!!Orc Chief
* MoralMyopia: He sees no problem of attacking and pillaging other races yet gets mad when those races fight back for Orcs attacking them in the first place.
* SugarAndIcePersonality: He talks tough and merciless in combat, but relents when his child calls him out on taking the bread the protagonists' cooked without reward.

** SummonMagic: tying in with the above.
* ExpectingSomeoneTaller

* HellishPupils: See above. They're an odd keyhole-shape.
* KnightTemplar: ''Very'' big on [[spoiler: burning usurpers and outsiders.]]
* TheLostLenore: Platonic version: they're desperately searching for the king of the Golden Kingdom...
** [[spoiler: [[DramaticIrony ...who we saw crawling up to the surface and promptly crumbling into dust.]] ''On the first page of the series.'']]
* MasterOfIllusion: They're first encountered inside the [[PortalPicture living paintings]] [[spoiler: the ones telling the life story of the last king.]] Laius needed the rest of the party to pull him out of one - and [[spoiler: the sorcerer]] ''remembers'' seeing Laius inside them when they turn up later, so....
* MoodSwinger: Turns from [[spoiler: dropping Lauis and company into a TheWallsAreClosingIn style trap]] to [[WhenSheSmiles cheerfully reassuring]] [[spoiler: the spirits of the long-dead royal family]] in an instant.
* OurElvesAreBetter: Is a Dark Elf. How that distinguishes them from the other elves we've seen ([[VisualPun apart from literally having darker skin]]) hasn't been explored.
* PlayingWithFire
* RedBaron: [[spoiler: ''the Mad Sorcerer''.]]
* TwitchyEye: Helpfully [[WrittenSoundEffect subtitled]] as such [[spoiler: when Marcille dispels their BloodMagic minions.]]
