* PowerCreepPowerSeep: She's not as powerful as Ryu in ''NinjaGaiden'', but she can still fight and defeat Greater Fiends (assuming the player is skilled enough) during team play, and is explicitly said to have superhuman strength. Given that, she really shouldn't have any trouble drop-kicking people like Jann Lee and Helena into the next time zone in ''DOA''.

* {{Stripperiffic}}: Mostly AVERTED. With the exception of the DLC bikinis, Mila is the most modestly dressed female character in the entire series so far (at least by its standards). Her most revealing costume is a sport bra that doesn't go much further than BareYourMidriff, and even then it makes sense that she wears it being a MMA practitioner.

* BewareTheNiceOnes: Competes with Kasumi for the biggest example in the series title. She's one of the sweetest ass-kickers you can imagine.
* EverythingIsBetterWithSpinning: Not nearly as crazy as Ayane, but many of her most powerful attacks include this.

* DoubleJump: She retains this skill from her original series, which allows her to do some pretty impressive strikes.

* LightningBruiser: Just like the other 4 ninja characters. Momiji is perhaps the slower of the bunch (albeit still fast enough to qualify), but her agility makes up for it thanks to her DoubleJump.

** Granted, there is also zero mention made of her being from Spain in the game itself. She speaks with an American accent, and apparently lives and works in America. It's rather like she's not really supposed to be Spanish, or that decision was made as an afterthought.

-->''You're gonna be in for some pain.''

A new character, making his introduction in ''Dead or Alive 5''. Little is known about him so far, other than that he is a Taekwondo fighter from [[CanadaEh Canada]]. He lacks recollection of his past, though Christie seems to know him for some reason. Bass is one of his coworkers out on an oil derrick.

[[spoiler: In reality, Rig is the son of [[BigBad Victor Donovan]] and together they have apparently plotted the entire events of ''5''.]]

* [[spoiler:AffablyEvil: Even if he's Donovan's son and his amnesia is just a facade, doesn't stop him to be nice for his fellow oil rig workers]]
* [[spoiler:[[BaldOfEvil Buzzcut of Evil]]]]
* CanadaEh
** [[spoiler:Subverted. His actual nationality isn't known.]]
* [[spoiler:EvilCounterpart: Rig could be considered this to Helena considering that they're both the children of powerful businessman related to DOATEC.]]
* [[spoiler:TheDragon: To his father, Donovan.]]
** [[spoiler:CoDragons: With Christie.]]
* [[spoiler:FakingAmnesia: His amnesia was nothing more than a ruse to serve as part of Donovan's plan.]]
* IdentityAmnesia: Christie seems to know him, but he has no memory of her.
** [[spoiler:Subverted. Rig had his memories the whole time and whole amnesia ordeal was merely an act.]]
* [[spoiler: InTheBlood]]
* InTheHood
* MeaningfulName: Seems fitting that a guy named Rig would work at an oil ''rig''. [[spoiler:The ''verb'' "rig" also means "to manipulate fraudulently", as in ''rigging a tournament''.]]
* MysteriousPast
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: "Rig" is just a pseudonym; he doesn't remember his actual name.
** [[spoiler: Chances are, he probably does as his amnesia was merely an act.]]
* [[spoiler:OverlordJr]]
* [[spoiler:PetTheDog: Went out of his way to save his fellow oil rig workers, Bass included, when the oil rig was blown to bits. Considering Rig already had his memories as Donovan's son and was just playing amnesiac, this act was pretty much this trope.]]

[[caption-width-right:250:Mila as she appears in "Dead or Alive 5".]]
-->''Yeah. I'm here to fight!''

The second new character introduced in ''Dead or Alive 5''. A waitress at a diner with an affinity for fighting, Mila is a mixed martial arts practitioner. She's a big fan of Bass Armstrong and also recognizes Tina, who offers to spar with her when the two cross paths. She joins the fifth Dead or Alive Tournament hoping to face Bass in combat.

[[spoiler:Unfortunately, she doesn't get the chance, sice she loses to Hitomi in the quarter-finals. Not that that discourages her to keep trying in the future, though.]]

* ActionGirl
* AscendedFangirl
* BareYourMidriff: In her default costume.
* BoyishShortHair
* BrownEyes: Apart from her {{Squee}} moments and despite being [[GenkiGirl quite enthusiastic]], she's actually more level-headed than most of the other female characters... More on the physical side, she's curiously the first Caucasian female character in the series that has them.
* CaptainErsatz: Of Gina Carano.
* CuteBruiser
* GenderedOutfit: One of her DLC outfits is a gendered version of Bass' first outfit from his appearance in ''5'' (albeit without the [[WearingAFlagOnYourHead American flag bandanna]]) as seen on his folder, elevating her AscendedFangirl status.
* GenkiGirl: An uncommon Western version.
* GreasySpoon: Her place of work.
* HotBlooded
* TheKnightsWhoSaySquee: She may be a talented martial artist, but she's still a {{fangirl}} of Bass and Tina Armstrong
* MeaningfulName: Suitably for a martial artist, "Mila" is a diminutive of the Spanish female name "Milagros", which means "miracles".
* MulticoloredHair: Dark red and black.
* RedOniBlueOni: Blue to Tina's red. Well, at least by comparison.
* {{Squee}}: Mila finds herself reduced to being starstruck when Tina Armstrong walks into the diner where she works.[[hottip:*:Though this is more due to Tina being the daughter of Bass, which even Mila makes clear.]] After gushing for awhile the two ladies agree to do a little sparring.
* {{Spexico}} / TorosYFlamenco: Thankfully averted.
** NotEvenBotheringWithTheAccent: Though strangely, she doesn't have a Spanish accent in the English dub (her voice actress plays her with an American accent), even though fellow Europeans Christie and Helena ''are'' voiced according to the their nationalities (English and French).
* SpiritedCompetitor
* {{Tomboy}}: Her look -- especially her alternate costume, which is jeans, t-shirt and a plaid shirt.
* WaifFu: Completely averted, unlike much of the rest of the female cast. Her moveset is very obviously tailored around MMA and uses fairly correct implementation, AcceptableBreaksFromReality notwithstanding.
* YouthfulFreckles

[[quoteright:250:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Momiji_DOA_9372.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:250:Momiji as she appears in "Dead or Alive 5: Ultimate".]]
-->

A CanonImmigrant from the ''NinjaGaiden'' series. She was also the first character confirmed for the UpdatedRerelease ''Dead or Alive 5: Ultimate'', being this her debut in the series.

Momiji is the last shrine maiden of the Hayabusa village. She got into this role after her older sister, Kureha, got killed during the events of the first XBox ''NinjaGaiden'' game. However, she was trained as a kunoichi by Ryu himself, and although she had a rough start, she quickly became much stronger and now is a full-fledged Kunoichi whose abilities never cease to impress her mentor.

* ActionGirl
* TheApprentice: Of Hayabusa.
* BadassPreacher: A rare Eastern FEMALE example. [[{{Miko}} Mikos]] don't fight, and much less a freaking ninjas, but Momiji excels in both fronts just the same.
* CanonImmigrant: From the ''NinjaGaiden'' series.
* [[{{Ninja}} Kunoichi]]
* LadyOfWar
* [[LastOfHisKind Last of Her Kind]]: After Kureha's death, Momiji is the only person worthy of guarding the Eye of The Dragon, the treasure of the Hayabusa village.
* {{Miko}}: Replaced Kureha at being the guardian of the Eye of The Dragon, now Momiji is a Ninja ''and'' a Miko.
* MyGreatestFailure: Momiji blames herself for Kureha's death to some extent, she was taking her Ninja training in another village at the time while Doku wrecked the Hayabusa Village and killed her sister.
* ReligiousBruiser
* StudentAndMasterTeam: If paired with Hayabusa during tag team battles.
* TomboyishPonytail

[[caption-width-right:250:Rachel as she appears in "Dead or Alive 5: Ultimate".]]
-->''Alright, let's get this over with.''

The second CanonImmigrant from ''Ninja Gaiden'' debuting in ''Dead or Alive 5: Ultimate''.

A fiend hunter from the Holy Vigoor Empire, Rachel helped Ryu Hayabusa during the events of the first XBox ''NinjaGaiden'' game. She was somewhat a tragic heroine, since she and her twin sister Alma were afflicted with a blood curse that turns humans into fiends. Rachel still maintained her human form and became a fiend hunter.

* ActionGirl
* BoobsOfSteel: Rachel seems to be Tina's biggest contender for this trope, both in physical strength and breast size!
* CanonImmigrant: From the ''NinjaGaiden'' series.
* {{Dogged Nice G|uy}}irl: In a rare female example, Rachel by the end of the first Xbox game has taken quite a liking to Ryu, but he promptly seems to refuse.
* HopelessSuitor: The Xbox continuity is established as prequels to the NES and then ''Dead or Alive'' continuity, by then Ryu is already HappilyMarried, certainly not with Rachel.
* KillTheOnesYouLove: Rachel reached this conclusion with her beloved sister Alma, she doesn't think there is other way to save her sister anymore.
* MsFanservice
* NaughtyNurseOutfit: One of her costumes in ''5 Ultimate''. Just in case TeamNinja's renewed commitment to FanService wasn't clear enough.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Rachel's choice of clothes for fiend hunting are unique to say the least.
* WaifFu: Rachel is very strong despite her slender figure, due her cursed fiend blood she can best enemies many times her size and obviously more muscular than her.

[[caption-width-right:159:Sarah as she appears in "Dead or Alive 5"]]
The second ''Virtua Fighter'' character revealed for ''Dead or Alive 5''. The sister of Indycar driver Jacky Bryant, she is the victim of Judgement 6's advances and is often preyed upon as a potential subject for their twisted "Dural" project.

* GuestFighter
* MistakenIdentity: Coming from behind, Zack thinks he's talking to Tina when he encounters Sarah working out on a heavy bag during her debut trailer. Cue Tina herself showing up and applying a sleeper hold while Sarah looks on amused.
* TranslationConvention: Averted. She is the only western character in the game who only speaks in English and not Japanese like everybody else, even in the Japanese version. This is actually rather jarring as her quotes come from old versions of the VF fight quotes, meaning they're a significantly different audio style from everyone else.

The fourth ''Virtua Fighter'' character to join the ''Dead or Alive'' cast, added in the ''[[UpdatedRerelease Dead or Alive 5: Ultimate]]'' update. An Indy car driver and Jeet Kune Do practitioner, his reason for entering the World Fighting Tournament is often concerned with getting revenge for J6's misdeeds against him and his sister (J6 sabotaged his race vehicle, resulting in a very serious injury requiring over a year of rehab).

* BadassDriver
