The Ultimate Luck Student turned Ultimate Hope and the headmaster of Hope's Peak Academy. He's also Kyoko's husband, Komaru's older brother, and the Naegi children's father.

* TraumaInducedAmnesia: In "Kyoko Forgets Her Family!", she develops amnesia after getting into a car accident. Eventually, she's able to regain her memories by going through various photo albums, home movies, etc.

* MeaningfulName: Her first name consists of the kanji for "tree" (木) and "cut" (切) found in both of her parents' names, in reference to Kyoko's dream where the surrounding trees were cut down. It also helps that she shares the same name as the titular protagonist from {{Anime/KikisDeliveryService}}, a movie that Makoto and Komaru watched when they were little.
