** JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Finally becomes this in Season 3 when his family has become desperate enough to hire him again, and starts taking his job more seriously which shows that despite how obnoxious and immature, he still cares for his family.

* JerkWithAHeartOfJerk: He initially seems like a guy who cares about his family and could be likable if he just stopped being immature and lazy. But every time it seems like he is going to redeem himself, it never follows through and he ultimately betrays Daniel's trust to save his own skin. He comes around in Season 3, however, when his family has become desperate enough to hire him again, and starts taking his job more seriously.

* PeerPressuredBully: Moon is actually a very nice person and only goes along with Yasmine's bullying to stay in her good graces. However, she eventually gets tired of it and decides to confront Yasmine about what they've been doing to Aisha after apologizing to the latter first.

* MistreatmentInducedBetrayal: [[spoiler:Winds up quitting and taking a job with one of the dealership's rivals after Daniel's focus on Miyagi-Do forces him to pick up the slack, being hit with a lot of extra responsibility with no promotion or extra pay accompanying it. The business lunch he was supposed to have with Daniel and Amanda, which Daniel blew off for more time training his students, is the last straw.]]

* PredecessorVillain: He has been dead for over half a century, but he is ultimately responsible for all most of the conflict in the series. He is the one who turned Kreese into the amoral sociopath he is today and trained him in martial arts.

* IdiotBall: His actions at the season of season three were pretty dumb for a former Green Beret. [[spoiler:He pushes Tory to lead the Cobras in an assault on the Miyagi-do and Eagle Fang students as they're beginning to work together, while keeping Robby behind at the dojo so Johnny and Daniel will find him there when the inevitably confront Kreese for the attack. Someone with his military training would know that both dojos would be easier to defeat if they weren't allied and launching an attack on them simultaneously while showing he's corrupting Johnny's son/Daniel's protege is just what both sides and senseis needed to put all their differences aside and fully unite. Not only that, but he also loses one of his best fighters (Hawk) to the Miyagi/Eagle faction.]]

* VillainousValor: Though it is a bit of a stretch to call him a villain, the fact that he survived the [[TrainingFromHell harsh Cobra Kai training]] and fought in the tournament (despite being way in over his head) shows elements of this. [[spoiler:Unfortunately, Kreese kicks him out of Cobra Kai for getting fond of a mouse and refusing to feet it to a cobra]].

* AxCrazy: Her response to Sam kissing her boyfriend is to attack her in school and hit her with a spiked necklace wrapped around her fist.

** He names [[spoiler: his new Karate school]] Eagle Fang[[labelnote:]]due to eagles being able to kill snakes[[/labelnote]] because he believes that mongooses are a fictional animal.

* JerkassWoobie: Tory is indisputably a violence-prone jerkass, but by the end of season 3, when more of her home life and poverty are revealed, it's hard not to feel at least a ''little'' sorry for her.

* FaceHeelTurn: [[spoiler:The dojo as a whole seems to be heading in this direction by the end of season 2 as Kreese has essentially usurp ownership of Cobra Kai from Johnny with the majority of the students (most of which TookALevelInJerkass) accepting him as their new sensei]].

* RivalDojos: With Miyagi-Do Dojo in Season 2, of course.

* LovableNerd: Demetri is definietly a flawed person for the most part but he's also very sympathetic, funny and a noble friend that is able to get bolder and more confident throughout the show to that he's able to fight off bullies and bring out the best in Yasmine.

* TookALevelInKindness: In the previous 2 Seasons, as seen in the tropes above, Demetri is to put it quite bluntly...a pessimistic, condescending know-it-all that hates the fact that Hawk changed his persona away from being his whipping boy (albeit...becoming a gigantic {{Jerkass}} in the process) and has no problem being a massive coward when it suits him. Come Season 3 though, off the heels of beating Hawk in a skirmish he's FAR more confident in himself. While it does make him a little brash still, this actually serves to make him far easier to be around as he's more comfortable in his skin and more accepting of how everyone else functions. Then once he's humbled a bit by [[spoiler:Hawk breaking his arm]] he comes to a good middle ground. He's the one helping to lead the charge at the end of the season to [[spoiler:merge the two dojos]] and he doesn't try to turn it into an AllTakeAndNoGive situation like he's accostomed to. In fact it's his swagger that allows it to really work. That's right friends, somewhere along the way Demetri actually became cool enough to even have Yasmine be his girlfriend.

* HateSink: In season one, she's an unrepentant bitch who thrives off of posting hate comments on social media. It's notable that even Kyler (her SpearCounterpart in this regard) is more respected by her posse at this time.

* HateSink: Compare to the GreyAndGrayMorality setup that most of the other characters have, Kyler is clearly written to be as unlikable as possible, and has almost no redeeming traits. Even when Cobra Kai students start falling under HeWhoFightsMonsters, they are still not as awful as Kyler. Season 3 reaffirms that the guy hasn't changed one bit (especially his ''love'' of penile drawings).

* {{Sadist}}: Kyler enjoys hurting people for its own sake (and ''still'' does). [[spoiler: Even at their worst, Miguel and the rest of Cobra Kai at least have understandable motives for their aggression and don't indiscriminately go after people who didn't provoke them first.]]

* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome: Is nowhere to be seen in season 3. Justified, as after [[spoiler: assaulting minors in the school fight, he landed himself in trouble with the law and is no longer allowed within 500 feet of any minor.]]

* CameBackStrong: Unlike Brucks, who was hit with a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown. Due to his athleticism, Kyler trumps ''Mitch'', of all people, in a one-on-one fight despite the latter spending a longer time as a Cobra Kai. He reaffirms his newfound strength when he fights Miguel again during Cobra Kai's assault on the Miyagi-Dos and Eagle Fangs and gives his opponent a hard time.

* FreudianExcuseIsNoExcuse: While it's true she has a DarkAndTroubledPast, most of her darker actions (stealing liquor from a club, attempting to maim Sam) have nothing to do with it and fall squarely under DisproportionateRetribution. Even Miguel knows that her assault on Sam is going too far and he (unsuccessfully) tries to stop her. He later calls her out on this in season three.
