PH or Puffle Handler first appeared in the spinoff DS game ''Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force''. She helped the EPF train Elite puffles. She then became a mascot on the island. She loves puffles and [[EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep although mostly everyone calls her by PH]], her real name is Paige.

* TheReveal: [[spoiler: At the end of Operation: Blackout it's revealed that [[SamusIsAGirl she is the director of the EPF]], which shocked some players who thought the Director was a male at first.]]

* DontWakeTheSleeper: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAr4uajDtwA In this short]], the ninjas have to protect [[NeverWakeUpASleepwalker Sensei as he sleepwalks into danger.]] Played with since at the end of the video, he winks at the camera showing the audience he was most likely faking in order to teach the ninjas how to work together.

* WeUsedToBeFriends: He used to be close with [[ChildhoodFriends Tusk]] but Tusk's jealousy over Sensei's skill with the elements separated them.

* ThePrankster: Petey K has a habit of cracking up jokes, and often pulls off pranks to his fellow member, G Billy.

* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Puffle-O's, hence the 'Puffle' in its name. It's made of O' berries, fruit that grows on bushes in the wilderness of Club Penguin Island. To the penguins, it has a spicy, bitter taste but Puffles love them.

* TropeyComeHome: Not only were there several times where you needed to help individual penguins search for their beloved puffles, there was a whole EPF mission called Operation: Puffle, where the whole island’s puffle population went missing en masse much to the sadness of penguins everywhere. EPF agents were sent to find the missing puffles, thwart Herbert’s scheme and reunite Penguins and Puffles.

On a lesser scale, there was a game called Puffle Launcher where you, well, shot your puffle out of a cannon into the sky. They love it and always look excited to play it.

* NeverBareheaded: He is only ever seen without his hat once, in Herbert's Revenge, only because he's unable to reach it. In the same scene, he says that he feels helpless without his hat, and the player has to help him get it back before they can move on. He later mentioned in a newspaper once that he has it ''glued'' to his head.

Characters that either has a mascot or has a main role in the game.

The Editor-in-Chief of the Club Penguin Times, the island's offical newspaper. She runs the advice column and writes articles about many different topics, such as current parties going on around the island. [[spoiler: In Operation Blackout, she is revealed to be the Director of the Elite Penguin Force.]]

* NiceGirl: She is very friendly and kind to other penguins. She loves her puffles and in the DS game she comments that a little kindness goes a long way.

* SassySecretary: Her rebooted appearance is that of an office worker type and has a sassy streak in her dialouge.

The island's resident inventor. He has made countless of inventions over the years, such as the Pizzatron 3000 and the Time-Trekker 3000. He also worked for both the PSA and the EPF, and goes by the codename G. He is the Tech lead of the EPF.

* AbsurdPhobia: He is afraid of decaffeinated coffee, analog clocks and outdated technology.
* CryoSickness: He was frozen by Herbert at the beginning of Operation: Blackout. After being freed, he acts more unusual and nervous, and says that he feels strange and might have suffered some brain damage as a result of being frozen. By the Medieval Party 2013, Gary seemed to be back to his old self.

* GadgeteerGenius: He made a time machine, a phone that can teleport penguins anywhere on the island and made most if not all the technology on the island.
* HairTodayGoneTomorrow: He is bald at present, but had curly brown hair when he was younger. One video introduces the Hair Chair 3000, an invention which gets rid of penguins' hair and might be responsible for this.

* GeniusDitz: The ditz part is self explanatory but it's revealed that Rookie can speak crab in one of the mini-games you can play.
* NeverBareheaded: He is never seen without his propellor cap. He mentioned in a newspaper once that he has it ''glued'' to his head.

* HiddenInPlainSight: She wouldn't be the stealth lead if people could see her. In the DS game she hid as a snow penguin and a trash can.

* NiceGirl: She is a level headed and friendly penguin.

* CompanionCube: His jet pack. He loves his jet pack so much that he has a bed for it, has an album full of pictures of him and the jet pack, writes jet pack memoirs, and even has a melt down when he thinks his jet pack is gone forever in one comic.

* NatureLover: In a issue of the Club Penguin Times, Aunt Arctic reported that Jet Pack Guy loves outdoor camping.

Sensei is a ninja and he teaches penguins how to play Card-Jitsu at the Dojo. He is a master of all the elements, which are water, fire and snow.

* HermitGuru: He lived in the Dojo on a mountain before opening its doors for anyone that wanted to learn the art of Card-Jitsu.

* TragicKeepsake: After inadvertently causing an avalanche that buried Tusk and seemingly killing him, Sensei kept Tusk's broken tusk as a walking stick as a reminder to not underestimate the power of the elements.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: He used to be close with [[ChildhoodFriends Tusk]] but Tusk's jealousy over Sensei's skill of the elements separated them.

* CoolBoat: The Migrator, Rockhopper's ship, gets tricked out during one of the parties. It gets [[OverDrive boosters powered]] [[MakesSenseInContext by snowballs]], a huge fan to blow wind into the sails and jackhammers to destroy iceburgs that get in the way.

* AdaptationalAttractiveness[=/=]EarlyInstallmentCharacterDesignDifference: In the DS games, she was a pink penguin lacking any TertiarySexualCharacteristics and only wearing a cowboy hat. In the online game, she's all docked-out in clothing and looks more beautiful.

* AwesomeAussie: She dons an explorer's attire, explores, and obviously handles puffles, and also has an Australian accent, uses Australian slang such as "Crikey" and "G'day". She also appeared during Australia Day.

* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: She's scared of UFO's. It's not certain if she's scared of aliens though.

Cadence is a popular singer, dancer and musical artist at Club Penguin island.

* DamselOutOfDistress: She's kidnapped by Herbert in one of the comics. However, due to this being ''[[IneffectualSympatheticVillain Herbert]]'', she escapes easily on her own. She is quite unfazed in his grasp. And only teases him about his plan in kidnapping her.

** Gets a GirlinessUpgrade in CPI with long, wavy hair, but still retains a somewhar tomboyish outfit.

Club Penguin's most popular band. The Penguin Band perform at the Music Jam parties along with Cadence. The band members are Franky[[note]]The yellow penguin[[/note]], the singer of the group, Petey K[[note]]The green penguin[[/note]] as the gutarist, Stompin Bob[[note]]The red penguin[[/note]] as the electric bass player and G Billy[[note]]The blue penguin[[/note]] as the Drummer.
