!!!Granblue (Protect)/Nova Grappler (Accel)

Kai uses a Kagero deck, spearheaded by Dragonic Overlord. He uses the latter's ability to restand itself alongside skills that retire opposing rearguard to wreck havoc on his opponent's field. In the second arc of the series, he upgrades his deck by including Dragonic Overlord the Great.

Her deck of choice, given to her by Shin, features the Oracle Think Tank clan. Its playstyle focuses on increasing the number of cards in her hand to complement the Protect gift marker before finishing the fight with her ace card, Imperial Daughter. She later changes her deck to be more focused on the Magus units with Hexagonal Magus and later, Pentagonal Magus as her new aces.

He is shown to have picked a Narukami deck which contains the "secret weapon" Shin gave him: Great Composure Dragon. His strategy is to remove units from his opponent's front row by binding them or moving them to the back row in order so that his units can power-up. He later upgrades it by including Dragonic Kaiser Vermillion as his new ace card.

In this continuity, Kourin plays a Gold Paladin deck, spearheaded by Incandescent Lion, Blond Ezel whose skill let it be rode even if the opponent is at grade 1. Her deck focuses on calling units to the field to increase the number of attacks she can make in a single turn.

The leader of both Team [=AL4=] and the Foo Fighters as a whole. He is a former acquaintance of Kai.

His uses the Shadow Paladin clan, with his avatar being Blaster Dark. His strategy revolves around calling rearguards before sacrificing them to use the skill of his Phantom Blaster Dragon while also forcing his opponent to retire their own rearguards. In the High School arc, he upgrades his deck by adding Gust Blaster Dragon as an alternative to Phantom Blaster and including more units with low power or capable of calling units with low power.

While teaching Naoki, he used a Royal Paladin deck. In the past.

Ibuki plays a Link Joker deck centered around the Deletor units. His deck is spearheaded by his avatar Docking Deletor, Greion which possesses the unique ability to delete the opponent's vanguard, depriving them of their power and skills.

** Specifically, Ibuki's victory against [[spoiler:Kai]] was seen as a good thing by the Destiny Conductor since it removed a potential threat to his plans but failed to realize that it would anger Aichi, causing the latter to challenge Ibuki which would lead up to [[spoiler:Aichi breaking free of the Conductor's control and defeating Ibuki.]]

* TheCuckoolanderWasRight: After he and the Student Council Trio join the Cardfight Club, he puts forth a startlingly accurate theory as to how the club had gotten into the predicament of being approved despite having only four members in the first place. [[DramaticIrony Though he is promptly ignored.]]

A third year at Tokyo Metropolitan Harumi High School, and is teammates with two notable world-class fighters Kenji Mitsusada and Gouki Daimonji.

He uses a Kagero deck, with his ace being Dragonic Blademaster.

* PhotographicMemory: Misaki is stated to have it. Shin supposes she acquired it after the death of her parents, so as to not forget her memories of them. Whether or not it is meant to be a case of eidetic memory is unknown since Misaki denies it when Kourin brings up that topic, simply saying she just has a better memory than most people.
** According to Kourin, this ability comes from [[spoiler:Misaki continuously experiencing a "life review", having all of the memories of her life flashing back before her eyes, during the moments following the accident up until she was rescued.]]

* NotSoAboveItAll: Despite being the student council president of a rather prestigious school, the reason he wants the Cardfight Club to disband isn't just because they don't have enough members anymore, but also because he still wants to eat his favorite snack which can't happen if they need to finance their travel and staying costs at the tournament.

* ShipTease: Her fight with Naoki shows that she has an interest in Naoki as shown that he caused her to start playing Vanguard to understand him and she actually blushes when Naoki says "You're in love (with Vanguard), right?".

* AdaptationalDumbass: In cardfights at least, in the original series, he along with Itsuki had no problem learning Vanguard in one night in an vain attempt to beat the Cardfight Club at Vanguard to get them to disband. In this series he has trouble with the rules when Maki tries to explain them to him, but gets confused by the amount of rules and skills.

Aichi plays a Royal Paladin deck centered around his avatar card Blaster Blade which supports through the use of the Alfred card series whose skills make it easier to call him. He also focuses on filling up his rearguard circles by calling additional allies through other means for card advantage while increasing the power of his units through the use of their skills or the Force gift marker thus giving his deck a good balance of attack and defense.

Aichi plays a Royal Paladin deck centered around his avatar card Blaster Blade. His strategy focuses on filling up his rearguard circles by calling additional allies and increasing the power of his units through the use of skills or the Force gift marker. He also makes use of the Alfred cards which all support Blaster Blade by making it easier to search and give it more power.

* AdaptationalBadass: Similar to the manga, Kai obtains [=PSYqualia=], unlike in the original anime where he was simply a BadassNormal.

* AdaptationalBackstoryChange: Unlike in the previous series, Kai's parents abandonned him instead of being dead. His and Ren's connection is also different as they were not shown to be friends with Ren simply being admirative of Kai's strength.

A grade schooler who went to Card Capital in order to challenge the strongest fighter in the shop. He was a former regular at Cardshop Voyage and acquainted with the Daimonji siblings. He has a crush on Emi, Aichi's sister and referes to the latter as a big brother.

* NotBloodSiblings: As Kourin herself confirmed when asked by her clasmmates, she isn't actually related to Suiko or Rekka.

A childhood friend of Kai. The two parted ways but eventually reunited in highschool. An energetic individual, his skills as a cardfighter shouldn't be underestimated.

** When fighting Ibuki, who he knows has [=PSYqualia=], he proceeds to allow an attack to go through while he's at three damage, while Ibuki is playing a Force based deck, as in a deck known to run ''8 critical triggers''. Two seconds later Ibuki's [=PSYqualia=] gives his two critical triggers and Tetsu not only loses, but he's also {{DePower}}ed in the process.

* InnocentlyInsensitive: Keeps refering to Card Capital as a no-name cardshop in front of Misaki who, unbeknownst to him, is the daughter of the shop's previous manager without realizing that this keeps irritating her until Nagisa points it out to him.

* AdaptationalEarlyAppearance: In the original anime series, Akari was introduced in season 3. Here, she first appears at the beginning of Episode 4.

This lasted until his uncle offered him the chance to live on his own just as he was to enter high school, at which point Kai had already become who he was at the start of the series.
