* SourOutsideSadInside: Because she can be a nosy, gossipy, pain in the ass, very few people know how sad and lonely Ogechi is. After having hip replacement surgery and Kemi helping to take care of her, it becomes a little more apparent.

The Bob of BobHeartsAbishola. Bob is a divorced, middle-aged guy who runs Maxdot, a company that sells a variety of compression based clothing. After working himself into a heart attack and being in hospital, he meets Abishola.

* NiceGuy: Bob’s defining trait. He is unfailing nice and polite to evenryone, even his [[DefrostingIceQueen mother-in-law, Ebun]].

The Abishola in BobHeartsAbishola. A no nonsense nurse from Nigeria, studying to be a doctor, while raising her son Dele. She is the nurse who helps to take care of Bob after his heart attack. Despite her super-serious demeanor, finds herself attracted Bob.
* EducationMama: boy howdy is she ever. She has high expectations for her son, expecting him to be a doctor.
* FormerTeenRebel: in an attempt to bond with her son, Abishola admits to him that when she was his age, she already had a motorcycle and snuck out of the house to go to a dance club.

* OverlyLongName: already five words, she add a sixth after she marries Bob.
* {{Tsundere}}: on the surface Abishola can come across as somewhat prickly and standoffish, but she does have a loving heart, though she does have some difficulty expressing her softer side.
* WhenSheSmiles: one of the first things that Bob noticed and fell in love with, that, and her singing voice.

Abishola’s maternal uncle, married to Olu. Takes an immediate liking to Bob. Somewhat dour, he does have a more relaxed and excitable side, especially for the Baconator from Wendy’s. While almost everyone tries to get Abishola together with Chukuwameka, he remains steadfast on Team Bob, realizing that nice guy Bob would be a better fit for his niece than a chauvinistic bore like Chukuwameka.

* HenpeckedHusband: most definitely is, but doesn’t seem to mind, since he loves Olu so much
* IWantGrandchildren: was almost on the receiving end of this. Both his and Olu’s families were pressuring Tunde to take another wife, which is perfectly legal in Nigeria, for the purpose of having grandchildren, Sincu Olu was unable to get pregnant. Tunde turned them all down flat, because he loves Olu, and [[OneTrueLove ONLY]] Olu.

Abishola’s aunt on her mother’s side, happily married to Tunde. Shares his gleeful obsession with Bacona
tors. Often the voice of reason and very supportive of Abishola and later, Morenike. Originally she wanted to she Abishola marry a fellow Nigerian from their church, Chukuwameka, but was won over by Bob’s persistence and nice guy persona.

* CoolOldLady: she has her moments.
* OneTrueLove: she is this to her husband, Tunde.

* DumbassTeenageSon: although highly intelligent and an exceptional student, asking Bob how good his fake id looked was NOT a smart move.
* EmoTeen: had shades of this during season two when he was questioning, whether or not, he wanted to be a doctor or a choreographer. The pressure from Abishola and Tayo didn’t help anything.
* IdiotBall: grabs that bad boy with both hands when he ask Bob how his fake id looked.
* MinorWithAFakeId: he had, til he traded it for the IdiotBall.

Mother to Bob, Douglas, and Christina and CFO for MaxDot. Has a stroke which forces her into a wheelchair (among other issues), requiring Bob to hire Abishola to help out with caring for his mother. Initially put off by Abishola’s blunt personality, she appreciates her help and tries to encourage the relationship between her and Bob. Can be somewhat insensitive, especially to Douglas and Christina, referring to them as “useless potheads.”
* CoolOldLady: can be this, especially with Dele, Tunde, and Olu.
* ScrewPolitenessImASenior: she has her moments, usually at the expense of Bob and his siblings.

Bob’s younger brother and Christina’s twin. Currently the floor manager for MaxDot, was formerly the VP of Human Resources, but was demoted by his mother and Bob to try and teach him discipline and responsibility. Douglas comes to enjoy working the floor, especially with Goodwin and Kofo. F
* BigLittleBrother: happens due to the fact actor Creator/MattJones is taller than Creator/BillyGardell.

Bob’s little sister, and Douglas’s twin, albeit fraternal. At the start of the show, she was MaxDot’s marketing head, but feeling unappreciated, she decided to go elsewhere. Unfortunately for Christina, that blew up in her face, returning to MaxDot, she found her old job was taken by Kofo. Not wanting to kick her when she is down, Bob offers her the recently vacated job of janitor, which she grudgingly accepts. Towards the end of Season Four, with the expansion of MaxDot, she earns her way back into the marketing department as its new head.

* TheBabyOfTheBunch: the youngest of the three Wheeler kids.
* CoolBigSis: what she endeavors to be to Dele, however due to the age gap, she is really a good auntie to him.

Bob’s long suffering right hand man. Starts out as the floor manager at the start of the story, originally hired by Bob’s dad. He is married and has at least two children in private school. Due to his knowledge and experience with the company, Bob promotes him to president of the company when retires to his new position of CEO. Before coming to America, Goodwin was on track to be a professor of economics at a university in Nigeria. He is cousin with Kofo, who he vacillates between trying to protect him and trying not to strangle him.

!!Ebunoluwa Adebisi Odegbami (Mama Ebun)

Abishola’s oldest friend who help her and her son after they were unceremoniously abandoned by her now ex-husband, Tayo. Works in the kitchen at the hospital as a dietary aide.

ItsAllAboutMe: can get that way on occasion, but she is a good person.

ReallyGetsAround: and proud of it.

!! Chukuewameka Mborata

the mother to Chukuwameka. Ogechi is a member of the same church that Abishola and her family attends, serving as the fountain from which all gossip flows. Thanks to this, she doesn’t have very many friends in the congregation. That being said, she does get on well with Ebunoluwa, who attends the same Bible study at the church.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: for certain. If it wasn’t for the fact that pretty much everyone who knows Ogechi is a member of the same congregation and nominally good Christian’s, she’d had no friends, save for her son and the previously mentioned Ebunoluwa.
* FriendlyEnemy: while she may not like or approve of Kemi dating her son, she does recognize that they both love him, and can agree on that (and not much else).
* ObnoxiousInLaws: though Kemi and Chukuwameka are still just dating, Ogechi is most definitely this.
