* DubPersonalityChange: Out of all of the Battle Brawlers, Shun's the only one to have a somewhat major deviation from his original backstory thanks to changes to both his mother, who simply slipped into a coma in the dub rather than passing away, and his grandfather who wanted to force Shun to focus on his ninja training thus causing Shun to greatly resent him. As a result, instead of having given up on Bakugan out of grief, his grandfather basically forced him to stop seeing his friends and playing Bakugan which in turn makes him a much more brooding and sardonic lone wolf-type of character as opposed to the original Japanese dub where he's shown to be a rather gentle and quiet person dealing with grief.

* ParentalAbandonment: Shun doesn't have a father, AND his mother fell terminally ill and eventually died, leaving just his grandfather to look after him.

* Hypocrite: In episode 3 of New Vestroia, he criticizes Dan when Dan is convinced that only Drago is needed, pointing out he needs backup and that there is strength in numbers. If he was so worried about numbers, he probably should have considered asking Runo, Julie, or Marucho.

* ItsAllAboutMe: Had this attitude in Season 1 and the first half of Season 4. While Season 1 was justified as Dan was only just a stubborn 13-year-old rookie who bit off more than he could chew, Season 4 made little to no sense as Dan's growth was halted and his personality reversed, going from a caring and understanding leader to a reclusive jerk that brushed aside advice from two of his closest friends. In both cases, he did get better.

* MissingMom: His ill mother died in the hospital after giving Skyress to him, who becomes a TragicKeepsake after that. The event however caused Shun to quit playing Bakugan out of grief until the other Battle Brawlers seeked him out for help against Masquerade. The English dub, however, changed it to look like she just fell into a coma, although the beep indicating a flatline ruins that explanations.

* VocalEvolution: After evolving into Minx Elfin, Her voice in the English dub shifts from it's somewhat deep, raspy-sounding tone to a clearer and higher-pitched one.

* VocalEvolution: After evolving into Master Ingram, his voice in the English dub shifts from its feminine-sounding tone to a deeper, more masculine-sounding one.

* VitriolicBestBuds: With Preyas. Drago clearly dislikes Preyas's comedic antics and one liners, but he is saddened when Preyas dies in Season 1.

* BreakoutCharacter: Out of the six original fighting Bakugan, he got the most spotlight after Season 1 and in fact remained Marucho's partner in ''New Vestroia'''s second arc, together with Elfin.

* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome: He and Elfin are nowhere to be seen after the final battle of ''New Vestroia'' and no reason is ever given for their sudden absence, not even after TheBusCameBack in ''Mechtanium Surge''.

* OnlySaneMan: Early on in the seasons, Drago was not afraid of voicing out his disapproval of Dan's strategies and was usually the first to reprimand Dan whenever he was acting like an idiot. Later seasons, however, show that Drago has lost this aspect of his character as he follows all of Dan's ideas without question, even when its blatantly obvious that they aren't the wisest choice of action.

Ignoring his friends, keeping everything to himself, refusing to stop allowing Drago to brawl despite knowing that brawling is the cause of the dilemma's happening? Let's not forget Dan ignoring his adoring ''fans'', that really doesn't sound like Dan at all. Spectra even lampshades this when he meets Dan in that season, showing disappointment as his "new" attitude and has stated that Dan has lost his spark. Thankfully, his character is restored to how he was supposed to be during Part 2 of Season 4, becoming the person he was meant to become.

Drago (original version: Nova Dragon) is Dan Kuso's Guardian Bakugan and the Bakugan main protagonist of the Bakugan Battle Brawlers anime series. He serves as both a battle partner, a guardian, and source of wisdom. Although he is impatient and is a pacifist, he wants to help Dan protect Earth and Vestroia.

He is the direct descendant of the original Dragonoid, one of the first two Bakugan ever created. He is one of the most powerful species living in Vestroia, able to infinitely evolve on his own. In battle, his power is to radiate intense heat from his body, dissolving everything around him.

Drago's personality resembles that of an honorable knight; he has a strong sense of justice, never allows anyone to get away with their evil deeds, is fully commited to the greater good, and holds high regard for honor and justice. He has, on more than one occasion, been willing to sacrifice his own life to save the lives of others, or for the greater good.

He also is shown to be rather fearless, rarely being afraid in the face of danger and rarely shows any distress or panic in any situation. While he is willing to fight to protect the innocent and for sport, he usually dislikes fighting on the spur of the moment and when it is for someone's own selfish or evil intentions, which he regards as meaningless.

For an eleven-year-old, Marucho is wise beyond his years. Studious, he studies the strategy of Bakugan as well as being a bit of a walking encyclopedia. Marucho is the only son of a millionaire. In the Bakugan battles, Marucho devises strategy based on in-depth data analysis but sometimes misjudges his spur-of-the-moment decisions based only on data.

He is a wealthy, generous boy who specializes in Aquos. He is the brain of the Brawlers, a real walking encyclopedia. He loves to play Bakugan and work on strategies. He used to be extremely obedient to his parents out of fear, but that changed when he joined the Brawlers; however, he is still very obedient. He now has no regrets for the past, realizing that he only wanted to make his parents happy. Marucho has a butler named Kato.

As a sidekick to Dan, Marucho helps work out which Bakugan would be best to pit against one's opponent. He worries about all of the Brawlers, but especially Dan. Marucho is a master of combination play, and uses water attributes in battle.

The [[TheStoic strong silent type]]. Along with Dan, Shun co-created the rules and regulations of Bakugan and is a master of the game. Shun is a loner, a boy of very few words, yet is willing to help his friends at every turn. He approaches the game like a Ninja warrior, very calculating. Shun uses the wind attributes in battle. Many fans like to pair him with Alice, although throughout the series he has shown tiny interest in Julie Makimoto.

Shun is one of the calmest brawlers in the series. He rarely gets flustered or annoyed, and even when he is annoyed, he maintains a cool voice (although he voices his displeasure). Shun is a lone wolf and always focuses in battles.

Shun Kazami lives in the province, and is a Ventus attribute player. He is also an aspiring ninja, receiving training from his grandfather. He is a loner, yet is willing to help his friends at all costs. Together with Dan Kuso, his best friend and childhood friend, he invented the gameplay for Bakugan. He had been the first ranked battler until Masquerade and his minions dominated the rankings, and because he quit playing Bakugan due to grief after his mother's death (His grandfather didn't let him play in the dub), ending up in 6th place. After defeating Komba, he ends up fifth. Shun is currently in 3rd place.

Shun reappears in Bakugan: Mechtanium Surge with Ventus Taylean. Shun is now 4th strongest Brawler in Bakugan Interspace, behind Dan, Anubias, and Sellon, respectively. However, this is due to him not battling as much as he used to - due to his ninja training. He is starting to get suspicious of what Dan and Drago are doing. Later, he is seen commenting on whether Drago and Zenthon are connecting - due to the timing.
