* WomanInWhite: She dresses in all white to signify her pure personality as well as to serve as a contrast to Nox.

* PettingZooPeople: He's a giant lizard who walks, talks and fights like regular humans.

* CharacterDevelopment: Lars started as a mean-spirited bully, but becomes slightly nicer as the game progresses. Rhen herself notes how much he has changed and was surprised to hear him point out how, after the party mistakenly donated a golden-egg-laying goose to the village of Dirkon, the poor villagers would probably need the goose more than they do.

* SpoiledBrat: He was initially portrayed as a spoiled {{Jerkass}} who abuses his power, mistreats slaves for fun, and forcibly joins Rhen's party to hog the spotlight and generally annoy her further.

* TheRedMage: Most of his spells are offensive, but he can learn some basic healing spells when he graduated from Shadwood.

* BecomingTheMask: He starts flirting with Rhen so that he can convince her to defect to Ahriman's side later on, but eventually falls in love with her for real.

* TheMole: He works under Ahriman, and initially joined the party to seduce Rhen into joining the dark side.

* Love Redeems: Rhen's friendship helps him learn to forgive and he ultimately chooses to reject Ahriman and sides with Rhen and his mother.

- Subverted to an extent as by the end of the game he has yet to give anything of his own to help others, and his stated goals are the same as they were at the beginning of the game.

A young green-haired noble who looks down on commoners, and was the master of Rhen when she was a slave. He is a skilled mage apprentice.

He is usually the one who gets concerned over Rhen's safety when she tries to do something dangerous, gets visibly annoyed by Dameon's flirtations of her, compliments her when she wore a dress for the first time, and, in an optional dialogue he can have in the Sedona manor, he mentions how he would like Rhen if the circumstances were different.

* BaldOfEvil: He's a corrupted Sun Priest who serves under Ahriman, and is the only Druid (or party member, for that matter) shown in the games who doesn't have hair.

* LoveInterest: Ends up marrying Rhen in the canon ending.

* YoungerThanHeLooks: He's stated to be the same age as Rhen (i.e. 16 years old), but with his beard and baldness, he looks like someone in their mid-30s at least.

* BigSisterInstinct: The reason she embarked the journey is to rescue her younger brother from being sacrificed to Qetesh.

* ImpliedLoveInterest: To Robin. First, she had established that she doesn't want to find a mate from among her own people, but also finds the men from the human world too selfish and repulsive for her taste. Then she encounters Robin, who impresses her with his innocence. When Robin was signed up as a Nightwatch, Myst would go alongside him when no one else did. In the epilogue, the two are shown having a picnic together and discussing about future adventures together.
* VagueAge: When Boyle asked how old she was, Myst told him that she's [[ReallySevenHundredYearsOld 200]]. Then gets offended when Boyle believed her claim, demanding to know if he thinks she actually looks that old. Given how little we know about the mist wraiths (are they immortal? Do they get born as grown ups?), it's impossible to pin-point her actual age.

A young stable boy who wishes to become a Paladin. The party kidnaps him (out of the belief that he ''is'' one) to undo a curse.

* CorruptTheCutie: Boyle's influence seem to give him a newfound obsession with kidnapping people and challenging others to a two-card flip game.

* ImpliedLoveInterest: To Myst. He is very protective of her, and the first skill he learnt as a Paladin was to defend her from harm.

* CartoonishSupervillainy: As shown in the prologue, he ticks most of the boxes of a typical cartoon villain: [[RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver Wears black and read]], [[BeardOfEvil sports a goatee]], [[JustBetweenYouAndMe loves bragging about his secrets]] and [[OrcusOnHisThrone relaxes in his lair while the heroes fight their way towards him]], leading to his defeat by a RagtagBunchOfMisfits.

* BadassPrincess: Despite being a princess, she is actually a capable fighter.

* RebelliousPrincess: She despises her Princess duties and would eagerly join the heroes' quest in ''Ahriman's Prophecy'' to escape the palace life.

* ActionGirl: She's a [[MagicKnight sword singer]] who is adept in both magic and swordfighting.

* KnightInShiningArmor: Parodied in the first game, where he tries to act noble and gentlemanly towards Rhen, and constantly interferes with her action because she's a lady. Rhen, who is a bona fide ActionGirl, is more annoyed than flattered at his behaviour.

A maid who wishes to become a swords master.

* ActionGirl: After going to Shadwood academy, she can join the party to serve as a swordswoman.

* BadassPrincess: Her status as a princess isn't really emphasized, but she ''is'' the daughter of the Mist Queen, and she's a very powerful fighter besides.

* ActionGirl: She can learn to be a Sword Singer from the Elder Oak.

* GlowingEyesOfDoom: His eyes glow whenever he uses his powers, which disturbs the rest of the party.

Once upon a time, Boyle the Horrible was a feared EvilOverlord who came close to taking over the world, until he was defeated miserably by a group of heroes. He'd since retired and settled down in Bogwood, until a strange turn of events forced him to become a hero.

* AntiVillain: He's technically a villain, but he does go on a quest to save the world. And even his evil deeds are fairly benign.

* OfficialCouple: If they gain enough attraction points, he would marry Iya.

* OfficialCouple: If they gain enough attraction points, she would marry Ean.

* DoggedNiceGuy: How his interaction with Emma plays out. He once made a bet with her and wagers that the loser must obey 5 of the winner's command. Emma still gets the better of him even if he won the bet.

The younger brother of King Uthar, and the second in line to the Thais throne. Sent by his brother to grow up.

Ean's best friend. Iya comes from a family of Singers, but have frequently failed her Singing test. Distraught by her most recent failure, she accepts the Snow Queen's offer to be her daughter, unaware that the queen plans to use her as sacrifice to freeze the entire world into an icy wasteland.

* NobleBigot: He is certainly well-intentioned, but his incapability to accept that Te'ijal, a vampire, could be anything more than an evil demon.

* LightningBruiser The enchanted swords she gets over time have powerful magic attacks, sometimes affecting the entire enemy party, and each enchanted sword she gets is more powerful than the last.

The main character, a brown-haired young elf who sets out to the land of Man to find his best friend Iya.
