* TheNotLoveInterest: Despite being Rorona's [[ChildhoodFriends Childhood Friend]] in a game where she gets ShipTease of some sort with all of her party members, Iksel is the one with the most neutral relationship with her, and one might think he's more inclined to be in love with cooking than he is with her. At most, it's said that she was the reason he got into cooking in the first place, and Hom comments that they're acting LikeAnOldMarriedCouple in one of the ''Rorona'' endings.

* CookingDuel: He starts one with both Rorona and Totori. In both cases, he gets overtaken by [[SeriousBusiness how seriously he takes it]] and starts turning into a SoreLoser, and he has to remind himself he should be doing this for the sake of food and not winning.

It's to the point where sensing Totori starting to rival his cooking abilities gets him to potentially go ''all the way across the continent'' to meet her in Alanya and challenge her. In both ''Rorona'' and ''Totori'', he ends up having to catch himself before he starts becoming a sour sport about their cooking competition.

* DontYouDarePityMe: He has this reaction if he loses the Cabbage Festival to you, and he takes it more personally than anyone else in Rorona's vicinity does.

The Hom then starts spending time with the cat on its own without Astrid's permission, the only order it's shown to disobey. In actuality, Astrid doesn't mind the disobeyed order and finds Hom's behavior to be facinating.

* WiseBeyondTheirYears: He's only eight, but he runs his own business and has an extremely sharp knack for it. He sometimes even gives Rorona tips while he visits.,

* ParentsAsPeople: When he gets completely drunk one night, he rants about trying to raise his son as a single father, working to make ends meet, admitting that he couldn't be there for him out of being too busy but upset that he had to walk out on him anyway, and worrying about whether he'll be able to pass on his job to his son the right way. Tantris, overhearing this, carries him home and laments that he should have told him all of this to his face.

* FireBreathingDiner: In Plus, if his LimitBreak is used to end a fight, he will eat a super-spicy piece of meat and destroy the enemy with a giant fireball.

* ShipperOnDeck: She teases Sterk a few times about his relationship with Rorona, although it's hard to tell how serious she is when she also points out how dangerous it would be for him to feel that way towards [[MistakenForPedophile a girl more than ten years younger than her]].
