At the end of the episode he decides that older women are too much trouble, only for him to gain a crush on his new babysitter. In the second live-action movie he flirts with highschool girls. Then in ''WesternAnimation/ALVINNNAndTheChipmunks'' he crushes hard on his new principal for one episode until he finds out she's married. Then he gets a crush on an older woman passing by. Safe to say he has HasAType.

* BrattyHalfPint: It's part of his LargeHam tendencies, when he uses his loudmouth to make things difficult as an attempt to get his way.

* ManipulativeBastard: His smarts lie in manipulating people and how to make them do what he needs them to do. What that is can range depending on his scheming. He certainly knows how to get reactions out from others and how to use them. Simon and Brittany are a lot harder to get fooled by him, but they fall victim anyway. Theodore with his innocence, on the other hand, can get easily bribed and doesn't bother questioning Alvin's motives at all.

* WhyDoYouKeepChangingJobs: Was a shady private investigator in his first appearance, a real estate agent in his next and hotel room clerk in his last appearance.

* ManipulativeBastard: His smarts lie in manipulating people and how to make them do what he needs them to do a.k.a go along with him. He certainly knows how to get reactions out from others and how to use them. Simon and Brittany are a lot harder to get fooled by him, but they fall victim anyway. Theodore with his innocence, on the other hand, can get easily bribed and doesn't bother questioning Alvin's motives at all.

** The first film explains that he obtained it when a sparrow attacked him, trying to take away the nuts he stored for the winter.

More so if any one of his siblings gets sad or disappointed by his actions. There's genuine sweetness under all the brattiness.

* LargeHam: Tends to over dramatize and exaggerate his feelings, ideas (as in, his active imagination), or what he says. Sometimes on purpose, sometimes not. He's mostly just naturally...hammy.

* TheLeader: He is the leader of the group as well as the self-proclaimed "awesomest" one.

* MoodSwinger: Alvin can be pretty unpredictable.

* AFriendInNeed: Alvin's there for those he cares about.

* DeadpanSnarker: Consistently so throughout all his incarnations, even with the nicer CGI version of himself.

* CoverVersion: The Chipmunks' modus operandi outside the fourth wall, as they cover music from well known artists or songs. Though they have come out with original music, and their CG-animated series have all original songs so far.

** Theodore: Treble

Dave’s parents as well as the Chipmunks’ adopted paternal grandparents. Both appear in “Grandma and Grandpa Seville,” “How You Gonna Keep ‘Em down on the Farm?” and “Back to Dave’s Future.”

* ACapella: Being singing chipmunks, it comes with the talent. Notable ones reside in the ''Alvin and the Chipmunks'' CGI film, where they give their great renditions of "Bad Day" and "Only You".

* VoiceTypes: Most fans can generally tell which chipmunk sings what, though the lines blur a few times when it comes to Alvin and Simon). This is possible due to the difference of pitch in each brother and their own vocal colors.

The oldest brother and lead vocalist of the band, Alvin is an impulsive and charming AttentionWhore who always seems to make up hare-brained schemes to get what his goal is at the time, whether it be trying to help his brothers, keeping Dave from figuring something out, or getting out of a sticky situation.

Despite being the tallest, Simon’s the middle child with an IQ north of Einstein, possessing a dry sense of humor as well as a keen wit. He takes charge when Alvin goes too far with his hair brained schemes. Simon loves Alvin, although he secretly worries that they share the same gene pool.
