* DisproportionateRetribution: His response to his daughter giving Ren ''one'' consolation is to remove her from Project Talos on the grounds that she's lost her edge.

* TheSociopath: What hints we've gotten about him indicate he's a high-function sociopath, like in ''Godzilla vs. Kong''. He manipulates people to get what he wants, his theatrical naming of Abaddon and Megiddo and his CantTakeCriticism indicate a Grandiose Sense of Self-Importance, and he evidently doesn't see his own daughter as a ''daughter'' so much as a lieutenant or apprentice who he can have ''assassinated'' if she becomes a liability; all this on top of the Timeline's hints that he's committing many more of the same atrocities he committed in ''Godzilla vs. Kong''.

* BullyingADragon: Goes out of his way to make utterly cruel taunts at Vivienne for no other reason than shits and giggles, and even ''Jonah'' gets peeved at him stepping out of line. [[AssholeVictim He pays for it]].

* MurderIsTheBestSolution: Vivienne thinks that Stenz' reaction when dealing with Titans is to shoot first and leave questions on the backburner, although it's ambiguous if she's judging his character correctly, since we only see Stenz through her thoughts on the man. [[https://hrodvitnon.tumblr.com/post/666120662644080640/ Word of God]] indicates that Stenz in the [=AbraxasVerse=] was like the ''Film/Godzilla2014'' official {{novelization}}[='s=] take on the character, where he earnestly only takes extreme measures like the NukeEm plan because he doesn't see any better options.

* GeneralRipper: Not only did he almost hastily settle on the option of nuking Godzilla and the [=MUTOs=] in an attempt to kill them in 2014, but five years later, Vivienne suspects that ''he'' was responsible for launching the Oxygen Destroyer which devastated Isla de Mara in an attempt to kill Ghidorah which instead nearly killed an intervening Godzilla, as she thinks he would be stupid and careless enough to do it. Assuming she's right, this would absolutely make his death at Washington D.C. amid the subsequent apocalypse unleashed by Ghidorah [[KarmicDeath poetic]].
* MurderIsTheBestSolution: Vivienne thinks that Stenz' reaction when dealing with Titans is to shoot first and leave questions for later, although it's ambiguous if she's right, since we only see Stenz through her thoughts on the man.

** Like Vivienne, Jonah tragically lost a loved one, but Vivienne is moving on from Serizawa's death whereas Jonah has allowed his loss to turn him into something cruel and wicked. Vivienne died committing a HeroicSacrifice to save her friend, whereas Jonah [[spoiler:essentially sacrificed ''his'']] to save himself, at the same time and place. Ghidorah's lingering influence pushes both Jonah and Vivienne toward SanitySlippage, but Jonah slips too far and too soon to escape his fate, unlike Vivienne. [[https://hrodvitnon.tumblr.com/post/735794879174672384/ Word of God]] compares Vivienne's depression in her HeroicBSOD to Jonah's more permanent nihilism, the difference being that Vivienne's depression was just a funk which she came back from unlike Jonah. Both ultimately [[spoiler:become fused to TwoBeingsOneBody Ghidorah hybrids]], but ironically, what's left of Jonah's mind [[SmugSnake thinks he's more important to]] [[spoiler:[[SmugSnake Ghidorah]]]] [[SmugSnake than he really is]], whilst Vivienne is the AntiAntichrist who attracts [[spoiler:Ghidorah]]'s ''very'' unwanted attention.

* HatesTheirParent: Unlike in the ''Godzilla vs. Kong'' novelization, where Madison seems to have remembered her late mother's more positive traits; in this fic, Madison outright fears the prospect of repeating Emma's worst mistakes on top of her above-mentioned BerserkButton. Tellingly, Madison doesn't mention [[Film/GodzillaKingOfTheMonsters2019 Emma's death]] at all when she thinks San is guilty of Ghidorah's post-Isla de Mara crimes from the movie; and in [[https://hrodvitnon.tumblr.com/post/701370934645374976/ this non-canon drabble by the author]], Madison is hesitant to even call Emma her mother.

* AdaptationalNiceGuy: This version of Mark starts out much like his [=MonsterVerse=] canon counterpart with his poor temper and judgmentalism, but the story's events enable him to put more of his inner demons behind him. By the end, he's less stubborn and more open to reason, and it's heavily implied his relationship with Madison [[spoiler:in 2024]] is a lot better than the strained relationship that the canon Mark's poor parenting style caused.

* OnceDoneNeverForgotten: Although he's gotten over his former grudge against Godzilla and jerkassery, a lot of people at Monarch, excluding Brooks and the Chens, still think of him with contempt because of his past behavior.

* AdmiringTheAbomination: Though he didn't quite understand his father's and Vivienne's reverence of the Titans, he gains an awareness of their {{Physical God}}hood in Chapter 13.

The leader of Team Mauzer during the joint operation investigating the abandoned Monarch outpost. He acts as a liaison between Monarch and the Russian military.

* ColonelBadass: He's in charge of the Russian military offensive against [[spoiler:Keizer Ghidorah]], and he makes sure to strike with powerful weapons when it will actually do some good.
* AFatherToHisMen: He's this from what we see in [[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13357907/7 Chapter 7]] of his interactions with Krupin, one of the men under his command.
* NoFullNameGiven: He's only known by his last name.
* NoOneGetsLeftBehind: Being informed on a potentially-dangerous search-and-rescue mission that there are potential hostiles inbound doesn't in any way affect Pasternak's decision to rescue Krupin.
* PermaStubble: He has a five o'clock shadow which is turning into the beginnings of a short beard, and he's a ColonelBadass on the heroes' side.

She ''has'' been seeing a therapist about her trauma from the events of ''King of the Monsters'', but it never happens onscreen at all, plus it's stated that there's only so much that any professional shrink can do for Madison since most of them apparently didn't get training for Titan-related traumas.

* DumbassNoMore: Downplayed. The author's portrayal of Mark mostly seeing Madison as {{just a kid}} and preferring to speak for her rather than let her speak for herself is quite accurate to how the [=MonsterVerse=] canon Mark would later be characterized in ''Godzilla vs. Kong'' (although [=AbraxasVerse=] Mark still admits when his head's cool that he can't keep treating her like a child since she's becoming a teenager, which is the polar opposite of canon Mark's ''Godzilla vs. Kong'' viewpoint). [[spoiler:In the last couple chapters, [=AbraxasVerse=] Mark has grown more considerate of Madison's feelings and what he can and can't make her do, although he still needs a second opinion and some parenting advice from Dr. Brooks about her schooling, and the author's supplementary materials have implied that his relationship with Madison will continue to improve with time]].

* RuleOfThree: Precisely three women [[MedicalRapeAndImpregnate artificially inseminated]] [[spoiler:with a fertility drug made using Ghidorah's altered DNA]], and then practically gift-wrapped for a rescue operation to find and bring back to civilization. * BruiserWithASoftCenter: He's described as a well-built man who looks strong enough to bench-press a tree, but when it comes to his wife, he's loving, considerate and tender.

* TheGadfly: According to the non-canon HalloweenSpecial "[[https://archiveofourown.org/works/46831738/chapters/127672459 Come Little Monster, I'll Take Thee Away]]" in ''Empty Fullness'', Ling will sometimes say certain things just to get a rise out of people.

* HoldingHands: She holds hands with Madison, a girl who was also close to Vivienne and also shares an implicit telepathic link to Mothra, when they're entranced by hearing Thor vocalizing in Chapter 14. In the non-canon HalloweenSpecial "Come Little Monster, I'll Take Thee Away", Ling holds Monster X's hand for some time when old feelings between her and Vivienne are stirring up and they're conversing intimately.
