** Less than two years later, on October 20, 1991, another network broadcast of a sporting event from Candlestick Park turned into a breaking news situation, [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oakland_firestorm_of_1991 as a fire in the hills above Oakland across the bay that had been contained the night before]] reignited due to heavy winds and began spreading rapidly, as the San Francisco 49ers played the Detroit Lions. The blimp camera began providing shots of the fire and announcers Pat Summerall and John Madden tried to sort out what was happening, which, since the 49ers had a lopsided lead at that point (they ended up winning 35-3), they could give their attention to. Madden, who lived on the other side of the hills in Pleasanton, especially seemed concerned about the situation.
